After losing interest in My Demon halfway through, I had trouble finding a drama that would interest me enough to start watching. However, this one caught my attention. It has some cliché plots, but ultimately I have a soft spot for it as long as it's not over the top. I had fun watching the first two episodes and I can't wait for the next ones. I'm guessing the main plot will be quite predictable, but that doesn't bother me. The chemistry between the characters is really good. I hope I don't lose interest in this drama because it looks like it will be a lot of fun.

overall enjoyed this drama. the ending was quite underwhelming though, with the lack of emotionality and meaningful lines from mong woo. i do wish that this drama leaned a bit more into it's potential for more emotional + affectionate scenarios at times. there were times when they nailed it (the mong woo-yi in ep 8 kissing scene is possibly one of the best sageuk kissing scenes i've seen to date) but fell flat at other times (we could've gotten more affection in that ep 15 scene when mong woo was comforting yi in after he literally just sent his uncle to death).

Xiaobao made the show enjoyable in every aspect❤️

Good enough to watch! I do however suggest not to watch the 20min final episode because its very confusing especially due to episode 24 that was in my opinion the ending. I thought the last 20min were just cut scenes, etc but it wasn't. Very confusing to say the least.......

The story had some plot holes therefore only a 7 rating for the story.

The main couple had great chemistry and I enjoyed their characters which were played well by the actors. Xiaobao was adorable and correct actor chosen for his role. He made the show enjoyable in every aspect. The other actors also did good in portraying their respective characters.

Production and Visual FX were good.

Ost was also good but not memorable for me to search the song and to add to my playlist.

Impressive production for a GL

Finally, a Lesbian story with a a high quality production with the added bonus of people with disabilities are people too and this gets a bunch of bonus points for being such a rare find... with a great start that easiely could have led this to be a 9 or even a 9,5 this was indeed a very promising drama. However then came some parts that where rushed, made little sense and tickled my oh come on nerve a little bit to much.

The acting is good, the cinematography lovely, the chemistry is on fire. The side couple is sweet but other side characters feel mostely meeh while they do show some common misconceptions and problems people with disabilities face their acting was meeh and they did not add enough to the story to make their time worth whils.

A decent GL that I do recommed, just mind the last couple of episodes...

Thoroughly enjoyed this ❤️ It was 'original' and thought provoking.

This was an awesome Mystery Romance, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Its not the normal trope of 'being transported into a novel' etcetera etcetera. It was 'original' and thought provoking. I couldn't stop at the end of an episode unless I was extremely tired and had to go to sleep.

When I was thinking of the rating for this series, I couldn't think of anything that I would have changed if I was the script writer, so I give it a 10/10.

The main characters were portrayed very well by the respective actors and I will see if there's other series's in which they are also the main leads.

Rewatch: Very likely as I really enjoyed it.

As sweet as cherries.

I am full of love right now.
This series gave me everything I was looking for in a Thai adaptation and more.

Sure, lots of people kept comparing it to the Japanese drama, which was also perfect, but this one just gave me more emotions than I thought it could.

It starts with a lonely insecure Achi and a resigned Karan and it makes them bloom, come out of their shells, and try for the unknown. The growth of each character in this story is something so satisfying to see and to cheer for throughout.
The side characters are absolutely lovely as well, and I appreciated all of them from beginning to end. Jinta was definitely an improvement from his Japanese drama counterpart, or even the manga: I was delighted every time he was on the screen.

Karan and Achi's love is equal, selfless, generous, mature and understanding. It's cute. It's what I love about romance stories. I wish there were 100 episodes, I'm sure I would just keep smiling at the screen and get emotional and fall in love a little bit too during each and every one of them.

I'm proud of how Tay and New matured in their roles from their latest series together. I hope I can see them working together again in the future, because their chemistry can just become stronger.

Overall, it's definitely become an instant comfort series and I am surely going to rewatch it in the future.

Mildly Disappointing - Not Good, But Not Bad

This was mildly disappointing? I don’t know what sets this show apart from other historical dramas centered around power struggles and scheming, but this was only okay. Jo Jung Seok and Lee Kyu Hoe both delivered the best performances of the show and were generally delightful to watch. Especially JJS has great screen presence and created tense atmospheres out of nothing. One second, the scene is normal and in the next he’s scary and intimidating.

I liked his chemistry with SSK whose performance was alright. I liked her crying scenes a lot (which… she had a lot for some reason ??), her tears were like diamonds rolling down her cheeks, I can’t explain it. The female lead’s revenge was… I don’t know. Lacking? So-so? Wishy-washy? Can’t put it into words. I think the lack of character development (for all characters) at the end of the show also disappointed me. Did anyone change or grow? I don’t really think so… meh. Also… the fact that everyone believed that MW was actually a man… honestly a bigger plot armor than my girl Ying Luo ever had. The writers decided that her dressing as a man was believable to every single character when it really wasn’t lol. It was believable in “Coffee Prince” for example, but here??? It’s because the writers wanted it lol.

The show generally has left 0 impact on me, and I probably won’t really think about it now that I finished it. It did pull me in – ultimately, it was the tension between Mong Woo and the king that kept me going and made me finish the show. The last episode was a whole lot of nothing that kind of dragged and felt a little useless not going to lie. Overall, “Captivating the King” was alright, but not crazy good!

It’s a Wonderful Drama indeed! Must watch!

I started watching this series because of Cha Eun Woo but I can honestly say that it exceeded my expectations!! The acting of the FL is AMAZING! Totally heartbreaking and realistic! The story is intriguing and you can tell there are so many secrets to be revealed in the upcoming episodes!! Even the music and the cinematography is good..I think this show will be epic! Also let me just say that CEW is a whole different actor here! I think this will be the series that will show his true potential!!!!

Max and Daran shines as Chess and Peng

Final review of #theoutingseries, first 4 episodes were lukewarm...episodes 5 to 8 were the peak of the series & Chess, Apa and Peng really delivered good acting and insane chemistry. The finale fell flat to me & it needed more meat in it to deliver - 8/10 #TheOutingSeriesEP12
I could watch an entire series with Chess, Peng and Apa... they were so dynamic and good and the plot was really interesting.
The Bl side story really delivered for me and I was really gripped by Chess & PENG

Enough of everything, enjoyed it❤️

A good historical romance series ❤️

Everything was great, only reason for 8.5 rating is that the cheesy moments were so much that it was cringe at times. I understand that the main take away, which I feel the writer wanted to bring across, is of a New beginning, i.e. changes that are made for a better life.

All actors did a great job of portraying their respective characters and enjoyed the different personalities of the princes (the good ones). The angst and court policies were needed especially with the cheesy parts, but would have been better if there were a titbit more.

Enjoyed the OST.

Won't necessarily rewatch but perhaps my absolute favorite moments of Prince Yin Qi and princess Shan Guang Jing, really enjoyed the interactions between them and it would have been absolutely boring if it was not included along with Prince An's stupidness.

First their dialogues very well written and beautiful. our leads chemistry is so subtle, strong, beautiful most of the time their eyes talked. you can literally see the love in king lee eyes. King lee our main lead is an amazing king who you will root for til the end. Storyline is really good politics doesnt get boring. it will keep you captivated til the end. Each episode you will have something to look forward too. Also ignore the negative comments watch it then make the decision whether you like it or not

how can a dram like this makes me smiles.

indeed this drama is totally different, I have been watching c drama for 8 yrs now and never seen any drama so fluffy

it has no villan

no jealousy

no break up

and most importantly no toxicity

some ppl might think there is less devlopment but all characters r already so mature . love is about understanding each other and this drama definitely show this 100%

some ppl will definitely not like this bcz there is no plot , as for me it makes me smile like madmen and at some point i cry too it was so good and light hearted after exhausting busy day.

I don't want it to end ?

A perfect 10 as there's truly nothing that can be improved on, great as it is❤️

This was an excellent Supernatural Mystery Drama with some comedic relief in between. My very first Taiwanese series!

I took a bit longer to finish this 12 episode series because of the roller-coaster of emotions that were evoked.

A perfect 10 for me as there's truly nothing that can be improved on with this series, as it was great as is. Thought provoking and actually learnt something.

Truly impressed by the actors respectively male lead.

Everything from the story to the acting, Production, Visual effects and OST was ust right.

Rewatch is Medium, mainly due to the crying, etc. Will maybe Rewatch in a week or so ... Not any later though..

Chemistry off the chart

I'm not entirely a fan of this trope, i.e where the audience is taken into a story written in modern times. This part however only had minimal screentime in the beginning and at the end of the actual story so I enjoyed this series ❤️

*******SPOILER ALERT********

Story: I'm only giving this a 9 rating as the concept of Ning'er reliving her life to change her destiny was sometimes a bit 'unrealistic', what I mean by this is the fact that she's completely different to what she was in the previous life. Her being a scheming individual that only wanted to be the empress, which is a person with different values. This is my only gripe with the actual story.

Actors did a great job in portraying their respective characters. Special mention to the ML, Zhang Ling He who did an excellent job portraying Xie Wei, he really looked crazed at times, unhinged, obsessed and in love with the FL, Ning'er. Bai Lu did a good job as FL. They had great chemistry. I also enjoyed the acting of the following actors, Wang Xing Yue, Zhou Jun Wei, Liu Xie Ning, Jiang Xiao Lin (bodyguard of Xie Wei), also the other bodyguard of Xie Wei who's name I can't find under the supporting actors.

Other actors that also caught my attention is Zhou Da Wei, Melody Tang, Qin Tian Yu, Yu Zhong Li, Cui Shao Yang(really played the part of a playboy and fake Xue Dingfei well) and Yu Zong Li as 'sister' of Ning'er.

Production and Visual FX : 8.5

Ost: 8.5

Rewatch value : 8 will rewatch if there's nothing better to watch

AMOGUS

High school students play the mafia game. Cool, we all played the game in high school. Except people really do get killed. The mafias killing them are among them and they have to vote out these mafias, who would ALSO actually die. Basically among us in real life - minus the tasks.
Now this is a plot which is bound to attract viewers. Fresh storyline, fresh actors, keeps people on the edge of their seat - it's pretty much set up to become a hit. The only problem that can possibly arise is poor execution. And that is exactly what happened here.

*ACTORS*:
The actors were mostly those I had never seen before (except the one who played Oh Jung Won, who I believe is that one girl from Penthouse). Assuming that it was one of their initial projects, they did a pretty good job. That bully guy tho - he did a really good job pissing me off. Great acting skills fr.

*STORY*:
Boy when I tell you that this drama is a huuuge missed opportunity. It had MASSIVE potential -it started out strong and would have easily become a huge success had it not crumbled in the latter half. It was as if the writer got a really great idea and started writing excitedly, then ran out of ideas on how to further develop the premise of the whys and hows and just.... finished it off. A few things I would like to point out, MAJOR SPOILERS ahead so continue reading only if you have seen the drama in its entirety:

1. The children got used to the game too quickly for my liking. I guess that was required to condense everything in 12 episodes, but they should have dwelled on their confusion, despair and thought processes, which they didn't. They could have made use of that main bully's acting skills when they showed him crying in one of the initial episodes, so that viewers could better understand the shock and distress everyone was going through.

2. What was the point of ML's backstory? To add a little conviction to his very anticlimactic "death"? If yes, then it unfortunately didn't serve the purpose very well.

3. The entire Se-eun situation - The last ep was pretty much dedicated to this and I believe it was supposed to act as an explanation as to whatever happened but it seems pretty half baked and only leaves us with further questions. For instance, how did Se-eun's parents manage to gather those children in the first place? Was it that game notification everyone received? What about those children's parents then? What on earth are they doing? Why are Se-eun's parents also targeting those who weren't even aware about the whole Se-eun scandal? How blinded by revenge were they that they dragged in innocent children to suffer their wrath too? I'm sorry but the whole 'those-who-do-nothing-while-others-are-bullied-and-stay-silent' argument isn't very convincing tbh. What kind of an investigation took place that they could not track down who made that scandalous video? If Se-eun's parents have enough money and resources (so much so that they got into every one of their daughter's classmate's brain to make them suffer), how did they allow it to be swept under the rugs?

4. "Make the bullies suffer as she did" was the whole premise and yet it wasn't carried out satisfactorily. Not once do the bullies connect their wrongdoings to their circumstances, not once do they feel bad about their actions, not once do they regret doing what they did. Instead, innocent children got PTSD from witnessing their friends die, as if having one friend suicide wasn't enough.

All in all, it was a good watch but the ending was SO unsatisfying that it became yet another average drama.

P.S: What's with all those Kyung Jun and Yoon-Seo edits on youtube lmaoo?! Where on earth do people even get such ideas +_+
