Bong-sun, a timid young woman, is possessed by the ghost of a lustful virgin. She has zero self-confidence, and because of her extreme shyness, she doesn’t have any close friends. At the restaurant where she works as an assistant, she’s not particularly good at anything, and mostly just gets yelled at a lot. Her grandmother was a shaman so from a young age she’s been able to occasionally see ghosts, though it’s read morenot until she meets the lascivious ghost that she gets possessed totally.
Sun-woo is a conceited star chef who’s overflowing with confidence in his food and his skills. Bong-sun harbors a secret crush on him, though he doesn't take much notice of her for two reasons: because he’s always surrounded by women and because he’s hung up on an old flame. But then one day, Bong-sun starts acting differently, shedding her mousy personality, and ends up constantly on Sun-woo’s mind.

Wow.. just wow! I really loved this drama!
I wasn't too sure about the story in the beginning, and I'll admit that throughout this drama there were moments were I thought it would go south. However, after I finished it, I realized I couldn't have been more wrong. The writers pulled off the storyline wonderfully. Even when the plot seemed a bit too complicated to execute well, the writers did a great read more job at it!
Now, I just want to talk a little about the acting in this drama. Honestly, this is one of the most well acted dramas I've seen so far. Park Bo Young and Jo Jung Suk have AMAZING chemistry. I would find myself playing certain scenes over and over again, just because these two are so great together! The way their relationship grows from beginning to end is so sweet. I also want to say that these two share the most real and believable kisses I've ever seen in a drama. Seriously! Whenever they were on screen, I would always look forward to how they would interact with each other. Part of that is because this drama has really down to earth acting. You can tell that all the actors have fun with their roles (especially the kitchen crew), and they bring that excitement to the screen. Not only are the interactions between Na Bong and Chef very real and believable, but the interactions between all the other characters as well. I loved watching the kitchen crew going through their day, bickering and cracking jokes at one another. Their acting was so real that I would forget what they were saying was actually scripted. It was fun watching them, especially during the moments where you could tell they were about to break out of character and burst out laughing! I especially loved Sous Chef (Kang Ki Young). Some people might find him a little annoying, but honestly he made me laugh numerous times throughout the drama!
Im Joo Hwan is also amazing in this drama. His portrayal of Officer Choi was spot on, and I was really moved by his character towards the end. The same goes for Kim Seul Gi (Soon Ae). There were times where I was a little confused and annoyed about where her character was going plot wise, but toward the end I'd come to understand and appreciate what she did for the story.
This drama does have some minor flaws, like pacing issues in the last few episodes and sort of a rushed ending. Despite all that, this drama is still a perfect 10/10 for me. I don't normally do reviews, so the fact that I came here to write this immediately after I finished it is saying something. If you're looking for a great romance/comedy/mystery drama with amazing acting and lovable characters, then give Oh My Ghost a chance!

Oh My Ghost can be a hit or miss for some! The romance is butterfly stirring, the comedy will leave you laughing out loud and the suspense will leave you shaking on the edge of your seat. This drama was pretty decent yet the story line , not so much. It's not that I had an issue with the acting nor the characters; it was just the storyline of this drama could read more have been done better. At times, it felt like this drama struggled to decide what kind of drama it wanted to be; a romantic comedy, a melodrama, a mystery, a thriller...it just seemed all over the place and there were many parts ( and characters) of this drama I wished the writers could have spent more time on rather than rushing the main focus of this drama on the back burner in the last 4 episodes.

The acting here was one of a kind. The actors appeared to have great chemistry and Park Bo Young delivers another great role as the shy/timid Na Bong Sung and my favorite loud/pervy Soon Ae! I found her actions to be very alike to Kim Seul Gi's (Soon Ae) acting style which was very impressive! Another great performance was of Jo Jung Suk (Chef Seon Woo) and Im Joo Hwan who plays Officer Choi!

If I were to re watch this show, I'd only spend it on the moments of romance. This drama delivers in the Romance department and also talks about a certain topic that isn't really talked about in drama land. These 16 episodes went by really quickly for me. I have to say I was really fond of episode 15, which really redeemed the entire series (in my opinion of course). Depending on whose team you're supporting, you'll find yourself wrapped into the love triangle. Overall, I give this drama an 8 based solely on the acting.

If you ever see a 10 for acting, then you know it's a must watch!

Each drama has different storylines but they have a similar vibe to each other. They are both very funny and the main male lead in both dramas is Jo Jung Suk.

The same scriptwriter Yang Hee Seung penned both dramas. Both dramas have wholesome memorable characters and comedy within quirky romance. Oh my ghost has extra elements of ghost mystery and thriller while Weightlifting fairy is more lighthearted and slice of life. Both are enjoyable with solid acting from the cast

this drama had pretty much everything, the humor, I loved it. I recommend it just for the crazy antics in the kitchen. I just loved the guys in the kitchen, of course the romance, and then the dark and sinister evil side which made it very eerie like out of a horror movie. You got something for everyone.

Had this on my plan to watch since it was airing but I've always been put off by the synposis, it makes it sound like he falls for the ghost in her body rather than her, which one is it? ^^

I dropped this at 2nd episode because I lost interest in it... But I really like the main actress (Kim Seul Gi), so I wanted to give it another try.

Still, can anyone spoil me about how does the romance go? Does the male lead fall in love with the ghost or with the body's owner? And so far what I've seen (first 2 episodes) only the ghost was shown, the body's owner didn't "wake up" from her possession. Does the body's owner (Na Bong Seon) ever "wakes up" from the possession or gets a hold of her body in later episodes? Or is it always only the ghost who we see?

It's okay, go on and spoil me please, I really want to know so as to decide if I'll give this another try or not.

Does this drama mainly focuses on the romance and comedy or the ghost aspect? I've been looking for something to watch and I don't know if this is a good one.

Rlly good drama. Hit all the right notes for me. Top notch acting from the main actors and also, the chemistry between the kitchen staff was perfect. They just made all the kitchen scenes so believable for me, like I was looking into the daily life of an actual Korean restaurant. Best drama I've seen so far, just getting ahead of Queen In Hyun's Man.

I was actually looking for a romance comedy drama and when I read the plot of this story, like something a ghost possessed a human body and then the lead actor will eventually fall in love with her. At first, I really don’t like Na Bong Sun, she’s the typical shy girl with a weak personality. And when she was possessed by Soon Ae, that’s the time I started to like her and how I wish she was like that always, a carefree, wild and funny. Also, Chef started to notice her different personality. I thought Chef just like Na Bong Sun when she’s being possessed by the ghost, but Chef eventually realized that he actually likes her as being the Na Bong Sun he knows. There’s also a mystery in this drama and the tragic death of Soon Ae.I love the restaurant’s crews especially Cordon, he’s handsome. Lol
Well, Chef is gorgeous, I like the way he acts in front of Na Bong Sun whenever he’s acting cool, and I find it funny though. The Sous Chef is reaaaallly funny. He’s a bully and I find myself laughing a lot whenever he is scolded by Chef. All in all I love this drama. The acting of all the cast of the drama is superb. For me, they just act naturally especially Chef. I highly recommend this to you guys.

This K-series actually reminds me of Coffee Prince. I wonder if they both have the same director/writer...???
