I doubt if there's a person who haven't seen the 2nd season after watching the 1st. As for me, I don't seperate between the two seasons, I just feel they're one part.
This season had much more events than the 1st one but the 1st season's music was better than this season's. However, if we speak about the general concept everything was nicely done; The actors showed more skills and proved their read more great talent : I fell for that strong acting.
Domyouji remain as my favorite character in this drama, there were new cast beside the old one wich made the drama more interesting.
Basically, if you watched the 1st season you won't feel it's finished without watching this one.

I can't believe that no one has rewritten a review for HYD2 yet! This drama is one of my all time favorites (amongst Japanese and Korean dramas); I loved the storyline (having read the manga and seen Meteor Garden before this one) and all of its characters. HanaDan is brilliant in that it captures the lives of these seemingly unbelievable characters in such an honest and beautiful way. I will admit, when read more I first started the first season, I did not like any of the characters despite being invested in the story. However, Tsukasa, Rui, Makino and rest of the characters quickly won me over. When you are watching this, you can tell just how devoted the actors really are. The acting is argubly one of the best aspects of HanaDan with a great cameo by Ikuta Toma in this season. I will forever love Oguri Shun as Hanazawa Rui. He is the standard by which I compare all second leads-I also adore Matsujun as Tsukasa as he flawlessly portrays an incredibly rash and violent character who turns out to posses an enormous heart (metaphorically). The soundtrack also deserves attention of its own: I still listen to OST for this drama and love the songs to pieces.
Overall, I just want to say that I like the this drama is not as bright and cheery as the Korean version. It has a darker tone, which I think only helps to sell its story. This is BY FAR, my favorite version of BOF (I've seen all the versions including the Mainland Chinese one) and I'm an advocate of almost every aspect of this drama. I do, of course, suggest that you watch the first season before you start this one: you will appreciate the characters so much more. :)

Make a Recommendation More recs (2)Recommendations

(From my recommendation for Hanadan Season 1)
The male lead is a cold rich guy who finds himself drawn to a poor girl who doesn't want anything from him. He tries to give her things that other girls would swoon over and when she declines the gifts he is left confused and even more interested in her than before.

Oh and his family disapproves and he ignores them. Also the girl, despite being skittish and a bit strange seems to be well liked by those who get to know her or watch her closely.

(Now how specifics about similarities to Hanadan 2)

The male lead loses his memory starting from the time he met the female lead due to an accident. His family tries to keep him from hearing about the girl and interacting with her but so far that's not working out well (I haven't finished the series yet). Oh and it is revealed that someone very close the the guy betrayed him and from that he has to overcome deep scars.

Simplest way to say it is that they both a rich men/man and a poor woman. Their lives are changed by eachothers impact!

It's been a few days since I finished both seasons and the movie and now I'm suffering from withdraws. Can't get the beautiful song 'Flavor of Life' by the amazing Utada Hikaru out of my head. This show has a nostalgic and magical feeling to it making it a timeless drama. A must watch for everyone!

Are they really married? Based on the articles that I read they're dating for 9 years and planning to get married (it was posted 3 years ago (2014) btw.) I'm not sure if it was legit and if they really got married. The articles are so limited, I can't find any reliable blogs/websites about their relationship. I'm shipping them so much. So are they married now in real life or what? :)

Among chines, japan, and korean series, I think this version is the best one, and I love it so much

When a main character suddenly gets amnesia it's a sure sign that the story has run out of ideas. Season one was goofy, sweet and charming. Season two just devolves into a interminable series of painful cliches.

i love the ending part. it's beautiful, make me smile a lot and... cry. Many girls, try to reach Tsukasa, but his love to Tsukushi just too strong, until make the other girls just step back. Ahhh... what a sweet love story.
I recommend this Japanese drama, i have watched the Korean version, but this one is better

    Love this serie =)
Just one point that i don't like this serie so much, and that is:
    "Buy love with money"
Ofc every girl want rich guy like them...
Its like boys dream to be rich so he can get any girl...

Sorry for my stupid comments xD
I don't fall for that kind of genre where a rich person love a poor person :P

But the actors here is very good, and some scene make me to cry ;)
So 10/10, BUT i will make this -3 for love money genre.
So 7,5/10 is my best score =)

I cant believe I finally finished this wonderful sequel! Although it was not as plot oriented as the first, many familiar elements were still kept through the show. I felt season was more dramatic and had more plot twists than the first, but most of them were not misplaced and helped with plot development in someway. There were a lot of cute moments I really liked, as well there were many sad moments that mad me super angry to the point where I looked crazy because I was screaming at my laptop (bad habit of mine haha!) The sequel is definitely worth seeing. Now, onto the finale!
