I don't usually watch Taiwanese dramas but when I do, I tend to choose well.
This drama is one of those that captured me from the start. I've got to tell you that the 1st episode is a masterpiece; it was well done in many ways, i believe it was one of the greatest 1st episodes that I've ever seen and the reason that made me proceed with the rest of the read more drama.
The story was cool, somehow unique containing a good cast and great supporting roles.
There were many changes in the drama's storyline which made it more interesting.
Fated to love you is one of those dramas that you have to like from the 1st episode or simply drop it because events are so attached.
Just watch the 1st episode and see with yourself.

This drama had me hooked from the very first episode. I finished the entire drama in about 2 days.

Story: The story is your typical rom-com, except in this one the guy is more gentle and kind. He does have a bit of a mean side but it's usually won over by his sweet and gentle side. At first I was turned off by the main female due to her lack of read more confidence, but I liked how she did change which made me like her and the story more. This drama made me dislike the second female lead, which meant it did its job, but it also did do a good job in portraying her in a sympathetic light for her own story. I loved the second male lead, and I wanted to marry him, but even though I liked the second male lead, I still found there was more chemistry between the main leads. Some side stories were a bit too over dramatic and a bit annoying but a lot of them were interesting which I enjoyed. I just felt that the plot about Dylan's sister was just a bit too unbelieving.

Acting: The acting was great! I believed all the character's emotions and I got sucked into it. The only part it dragged off on was the last few episodes where Cun Xi had to act fake and lie, I felt his acting was a bit too overdone. But overall the acting was awesome!!

Music: I think the music was good and matched very well. There were some parts where the music was a bit too dramatic but overall well done.

Re-watch: I loved this drama so much that I right now I kinda wish that I didn't speed through it and I had watched at a good pace. This is a drama I will definitely watch again when I'm bored and have no dramas to watch.

Overall: It is rated an 8, because even though I loved loved loved the story, at the end I had to fast forward through chunks of it to get to the good parts. When I fast forwarded through I found that I could still understand what was going on which indicated that those parts were a bit unnecessary and could have been taken out or have had less screen time.

Both involve "accidental" pregnancy (for all except the female lead in One Night Stud). If you liked One Night Stud then you should like Fated to Love You. The main difference between these two is that Fated to Love You is more melodramatic and drawn out.
Recommended by Samantha
Both involve unexpected pregnancy leading to marriage. Both lead romances have a bumpy start and eventually a good ending.

First watched this when I was an elementary. Watched this again this year in college. Nothing beats the nostalgia a thing can give, so I'm bias and giving it plus points even if its cliche and most of the time annoying. I TOTALLY LOVE THIS.

I really did like this drama at the beginning. But towards the end it started dragging and frustrating me very much!!

Gave only 7.5 because of choppy production and uneven acting. This is one of my fave dramas and I've rewatched several times mainly because of the comic interaction between Joe Chen's and Ethan Ruan's characters and the characters' family. I really liked the songs.

The most unlikeable female lead. The most unlikeable male lead...character wise. I feel like I'm watching another Boys Over Flowers and that ain't a good thing. I will not drop this though.

Just to avoid confusion for some people- this is currently on Netflix, and has more episodes than the 24 it lists here. The episodes are shorter than an hour and a half, however.

Enjoyed this one, had me in the roller coaster ride of emotions, and oddly enough, for me, it didn't drag too much, and it was good paste. Love the romance and the comedy. I cried hard, and laugh hard. Enjoyed it. Very good show..

This was so much better than the Korean remake of this show, they really trashed it, I wish I had never watched the Korean Fated to Love You, it was horrendous what she did to him... I'm so glad I watched this first...

I agree !! .....LMAO over the Chen Baron comment... But I did like the actor; to me, he's more handsome than Ethan Ruan.
and Wow !!! You just reminded me of some of the silliness .... I remember the islanders were very silly, but some of them were also very funny! .... I still prefer the comedy of the K-version tho , it was very smart !!!

I like the original than the korean version even though this has many many many flaws. Very enjoyable with all the foolishness... basically this is a feel good drama.

btw, I don't think u r giving away any spoilers ... it's known she will marry him ...and... all rom/coms have happy endings... is anyone surprised ???....
besides 99.9% of K dramas and probably most T-dramas also , we know who the main couple is before the show starts ... and we know they'll end up together (if no one dies that is ).... That's why I am liking C-dramas more and more.... refreshing and not just fit into a formula like most K-dramas.

I somehow always tend to agree with your assessments. I actually found that Joe Chen tended to pout too much. In this instance I found Jang Na-Ra came far closer to the intent of the writers. She is a much more talented actress and used her acting prowess to convey just how giving and magical the main character was. Also, in the Taiwanese we are told time and again that Xin Yi is stupid. In the Korean version, Mi-Young is anything but stupid. She is talented and intelligent, but her gift is her empathy and self denial. This is why I much prefer the Korean version, although both are fun.
