Hello, fellow drama watchers!     Thanks to the new Calendar feature, I found out that some very cool dramas are going to premiere in May, which is why I decided to write this article. So, if you're curious which are the 7 dramas I'm most excited about, continue reading. :)

PREMIERE DATE: MAY 06, 2020
SYNOPSIS:    A human drama about the stories of psychiatrists living in a crazy world. Through various stories, the drama aims to ask, "Where does happiness come from?" and share a heartwarming message of comfort with viewers. Lee Shi Joon (Shin Ha Kyun) is a psychiatrist at a hospital. He is passionate when it comes to helping his patients. Han Woo Joo (Jung So Min) is a rising star as a musical actress. She is honest and has integrity and loves her job as a musical actress. (Source: TopStarNews)
AIRS ON: WEDNESDAY, THURSDAYEPISODES: 32 (35min)

WHY AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO IT?     ━ I know that we should not judge a drama by its poster, but gosh, look at this poster! It's one of the most beautiful posters I've ever seen, it's aesthetically pleasing to the eyes! I'm super super excited for Soul Mechanic because Jung So Min is one of my favourite actresses and I have high expectations about the drama since it seems like a heart-warming, healing experience. But I guess we'll see.

PREMIERE DATE: MAY 18, 2020
SYNOPSIS:     It tells the love story of a fashion designer and a man in the e-commerce industry. Fashion designer Zhou Fang (Dilraba Dilmurat) met Song Lin (Johnny Huang) because of a lawsuit. They were a mismatch from the very start but had to cooperate due to interdependence in their lives and their work. Having two hard-headed people together was bound to result in conflicts, but in the process of competing with each other, Zhou Fang and Song Lin gradually fall in love. As they seek to be better versions of themselves, Zhou Fang works hard to create a sophisticated brand while Song Lin, who prioritizes efficiency above all pushes for a breakthrough in his career. AIRS ON: MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT, SUNEPISODES: 48

WHY AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO IT?     ━ You know, I'm not really into modern Chinese dramas, especially if they are so long, but this one caught my attention because of the cast. Also, the teaser looks very good, the leads seem to have great chemistry, so I'm really looking forward to seeing their scenes!

PREMIERE DATE: MAY 20, 2020
SYNOPSIS:     Mystic Pop-Up Bar is based on a popular webtoon of the same name and tells the story of a mysterious pojangmacha (outdoor drinking establishment) run by a prickly woman (Hwang Jung Eum) and an innocent part-timer (Yook Sung Jae) who visit customers in their dreams to help resolve their problems. AIRS ON: WEDNESDAY, THURSDAYEPISODES: 12 (1h10min)

WHY AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO IT?     ━  Mystic Pop-Up Bar looks like a funny and unique drama, and the fact that it's short makes me think that it will be definitely worth watching (because, you know, a lot of dramas tend to drag a lot if they are longer). The cast looks amazing, too, I love Choi Won Young and Sung Jae, and I'm always happy to see them on the screen. I know a lot of people don't like Hwang Jung Eum because she... Screams a lot, but I personally like her, and I'm totally used to her high-pitched voice, so we are all good.

PREMIERE DATE: MAY 23, 2020
SYNOPSIS:     Further Investigation is a crime action investigation drama about police investigator Jin Kang Ho (Cha Tae Hyun) from the serious crime squad who never gives up on a case until he gets to the end of it. He will solve unsolved cases with a team consisting of a passionate producing director (PD) of an investigative show with low viewership ratings, a detective who used to be a profiler, a bar CEO who puts his violent past behind, and a funeral director who used to be a well-esteemed autopsy doctor at the National Forensic Service (NIS). AIRS ON: SATURDAY, SUNDAYEPISODES: 12 (1h)

WHY AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO IT?     ━  I LOVE crime/investigation shows, and I'm always excited about new OCN dramas! The cast looks amazing, too, really, really looking forward to the premiere!

PREMIERE DATE: MAY 25, 2020
SYNOPSIS:   This drama is about a young woman (Seo Ji Hye), who is going through a rough breakup with a longtime boyfriend she's still in love with, and a young man (Song Seung Heon), who's a serial dater and kind of tired of relationships. They both like to eat out but dislike having to go to nice restaurants alone, and they happen to meet while waiting to be seated at a restaurant, each of them alone. The hostess mistakes them for a couple and offers them a couple special, which prompts them to sit together and end up having dinner together. After their first unexpected meeting, they meet and have dinner together weekly. That's how they strike up an unusual friendship where they get together just to eat out, and over multiple dinners, they open up to each other about their relationship troubles and grow closer. AIRS ON: Monday, TuesdayEPISODES: 32 (35min)

WHY AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO IT?     ━ If I have to be honest, Dinner Mate doesn't sound like the most exciting thing in the world, and the plot doesn't seem like it's something new and refreshing, but I have a feeling that the drama will be very good. And the cast looks amazing (well, I'm not the biggest fan of Son Na Eun as an actress, but maybe she got better?) But I'm super excited to see Seo Ji Hye, especially after her brilliant acting in Crash Landing on You! Looking forward to seeing her and Seung Heon as a couple!~

PREMIERE DATE: MAY 25, 2020
SYNOPSIS:     Midnight Snack Couple will tell the story of a man who begins to lie in order to get his hands on money while pushing the woman he loves into a corner and hurting a man that has come to love him because of the same lie.  (Source: Soompi)
AIRS ON: MONDAY, TUESDAYEPISODES: 12 (1h)

WHY AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO IT?     ━ Jung Il Woo. That is it. That's the reason.

PREMIERE DATE: MAY 25, 2020
SYNOPSIS:     Record of Youth follows the lives of three people in today's fashion industry. The current generation lives in a world where the "spoon" you're born with determines your life's path.  While dreams are a luxury not everyone can afford, their youthful passion spurs them on to make them come true. (Source: Soompi)
AIRS ON: MONDAY, TUESDAYEPISODES: 16 (1h)

WHY AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO IT?     ━ I honestly don't know. But the cast looks so good. I'm just not a fan of writer Ha Myung Hee, and I promised myself not to watch her dramas anymore... But why is the cast of her shows always so good? :( I mean, we have Park Bo Gum and Park So Dam on one screen, I just can't miss this. Let's just hope for the best.

Which are the dramas you're looking forward to the most?
