Jung Sung Il will possibly have his first-ever leading role.

On April 13, industry insiders revealed that Jung Sung Il has been cast in the upcoming K-drama Guardians.

Jung Sung Il's agency Key East Entertainment shared their side regarding the casting reports. According to the agency, Jung Sung Il is positively reviewing the offer to lead the new K-drama.

Guardians will be the first-ever Korean drama that will highlight the stories of probation officers who are tasked to monitor, help, and arrest criminals. 

Jung Sung Il got the offer to play the role of Bok Tae Joo, a probation officer. 

There are no details yet on who will work alongside Jung Sung Il and when and where the upcoming K-drama will be broadcasted.

This K-drama will possibly be the follow-up project of the actor after starring in the Netflix original series The Glory Part 2

Jung Sung Il became more known after being part of The Glory. He has received a lot of offers after being more known through the series. He was praised for his acting skills and great chemistry with co-stars Im Ji Yeon and Song Hye Kyo

The actor made his acting debut in 2002. He has starred in several K-dramas in a supporting role in The Return of Iljimae, The Running Mates: Human Rights, Woman of 9.9 Billion, Stranger Season 2, Birthcare Center, Times, Bad and Crazy, Our Blues, and more.

Jung Sung Il is also active in movies. Just last year, he was part of the movie Project Wolf Hunting. He also participated in the films The Chase, Hide and Never Seek, Like a French Film, Makgeolli Girls, The Con Artists, A Frozen Flower, and The Art of Seduction.

Aside from acting, Jung Sung Il is also known for being active in musicals.
