Desktop version on mobile

Can we get a desktop version on mobile? I haven't been able to find one. While the mobile version is great I am feeling quite limited and everything seems so big taking up a lot of space.

you have one though: if you are using Chrome on mobile, then you can just press on the 3 dots/Settings and check the Request desktop site :D

I've tried several browsers including chrome on my tablet, but with every one, clicking on "request desktop version" doesn't work for mdl.

Also the new version of mdl is very slow on my android based tablet, whereas the old version worked fine.
