Im Tae Kyung is a South Korean musical actor and crossover tenor. Im's mother is an amateur gugak singer. Im studied music at Yewon School in Seoul and Institute Le Rosey in Switzerland. Later he majored in engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, with a minor in music. After graduating he sought out Richard Cassilly to take further vocal lessons. After Cassilly's sudden death, Im returned to the university for a Ph.D. in engineering and got offered a job at an automobile manufacturer. However, Im decided to pursue his singing dream instead. During his undergraduate studies, he battled leukemia.
