SURPRISINGLY GOOD?!

The first thing that you have to understand about me, it's that I don't like Asian Entertaiment that involves women most of the time; not because I don't like them, no. I love women, I love female characters, hell I'm a girl....But Asian directors and scriptwritters don't EVER seem to get it when it comes to write female characters. Even on action related shows or movies, I always see the girls needing the male character to pull through and GOD I HATE THAT, so I always end up not liking the things I watch, most of the time I opt to just watch all boys movies or shows because I get less angry. I was expecting that BAD LANDS was like that, the lead was the girl but for experience I had only clicked on watching solely for Ryosuke Yamada's ass (quite literally as I've seen, thank you Jesus), but the movie as a whole turned out to be SO GOOD?! The female character is strong from the beginning, which is surprising, I loved how the scriptwriter made her strong since she was a child and not because of abuse, I love that she's disabled and specially I love how everything is handled. I did not see coming the ending, though, saddy sad for me as a fan of Ryosuke, but overall, specially the handshake between the two girls was SO FUCKING POWERFUL! GOD ASIA GIVE ME MORE OF THIS!

THIS IS HOW YOU DO ROMCOMS

This was a rewatch.

My main issue when it comes to dramas and romcoms it's how no matter the plot, specially in Korean teen dramas, I always end up pissed off because the characters are horrible people. Either I can't stand the lead, or she ends up with the douche that treated her like crap instead of the nice guy and I just hate the whole thing. It's dramas like this that made me realize I actually like romcoms and dramas, just well written ones.

In this drama Sena, a pianist falls for Minami, a model, who falls also for him. I love how the drama revolves around these two but it's also about how Sena tries to find his way through his musical career and how Minami tries to find her place in the world outside of modeling. It's so nice when, specially girls are more than just the love story.

Overall the drama is fun and entertaining, a nice slowburn with very likable characters, which make the drama perfect for me, because I do love when you can't hate any character and can understand why they do whatever they do. From the OST in English to the main Japanese song, I genuinely loved to rewatch this drama on Summer specially, but any season is good.

It's an amazingly written slow born of strangers to friends to lovers that has you hooked from episode one, incredibly open minded as how young women and men are without missing a beat on fun and comedy relief, with an amazing and fangirl type of ending that I just loved more every time I watch it. Definitely recommend this to everyone!

PEOPLE SLEEP TOO MUCH ON HARUMA'S COMEDIES

I will never shut up about how the industry of cinema, no matter which country it is, always sees as "real cinema" or "good shows" the ones who tend to be more serious or dramatic than comedy based ones, and I think that's so wrong. I genuinely think that it's so hard to actually make someone laugh so much they do it out loud or stop eating or drinking because they'd choke due to laughing.

HANA KIMI is one of those shows for me, and this is another. Haruma Miura, mostly known for playing Eren on the live action of ATTACK ON TITAN was an amazing comedian, acting wise, and I do think people should appreciate it way more.

This drama tells the story of a nice, common high schooler, Kotaro, who somehow ends up getting a samurai warrior inside of his body, which develops into so many comedy scenes that made this drama one of my favorite dramas EVER!

Overall it's just confort, funny and entertaining, I think people should hype it more, but it's definitely not a must watch if you're not intrigued by the sypnosis, still for me it's so fun and great to watch. I would always recommend this for any JDRAMA beginner.

THIS DRAMA IS WHERE MY STANDARDS LAY

I feel like this drama is very specific regarding the people who like it. You either hate it or you love it. Luckily I'm part of the latter, and God I do think we should have more dramas or movies like these!

The plot it's very simple, Shun Oguri plays Kazumi Koyama, a young man who's to nice to say no to people, specially friends. The story revolved around friendship and being nice, at times lots of people question how he can still be nice while he's struggling, I personally would too; I love it because this is surely how the world should work, being nice should be the default, and expect the best from people too.

Sadly we live in a reality very different from this movie, which makes the drama way more conforting than it already was. For me specifically, it's an special drama because, if I'm not wrong, this is probably where Shun Oguri met Yu Yamada (one of the most beautiful women in the world in my opinion), who is now his wife and I personally love this couple so much, all of that besides having Haruma Miura paying a cute, shy student it's all I need in a drama, I genuinely think it's perfect for me and the comedy is so well written I can't help but like it.

NOT PERFECT, BUT STILL A FAVORITE

Like with the drama, the special failed on some things that nowadays would be deemed as very problematic, specially from my pov of knowing there are a lot of hafu/black & asian actors, but besides that, I do have to say I loved the special.

Maybe it's because I love the drama, maybe because I like the story or maybe the cast, but I genuinely enjoyed watching this so much! The humour was peak anime humour, which I can understand it's not for everyone, but it is for me, and I love every beat of it, to the point of choking due to laughing because of it. The romance with it was still as good as the show had been with it, or even better, just like the OST. Overall, a very fun and entertaining special to watch, which I'd say you can watch even without having watched the show prior to it, all in all, I think you can enjoy it more having watch it though.

SHUN OGURI's POWER

The premise of girl pretends to be boy and then the two leads fall in love it's, most of the time, annoying as hell for me. Specially if it comes to Asian countries where LGBTQ+ things are still very taboo and the merriage isn't even legal yet besides on Taiwan. Most of the time I skip ahead and never watched these type of shows, but due to the cast of so many actors that I already knew and due to the main point was unrelated to "feminism" I opted for giving this a chance, and that's when I realized I actually really liked this drama.

It's still very old school, and does not survive to today's standards on equality and respect to LGBTQ+ folks, but considering the time and ignoring that "I'm not an homo" joke that is not funny at all, I think in general terms it's still a pretty funny and entertaining drama that has you rooting for the two leads to end up together from the get go.

A NICE ENDING FOR A NICE TV SHOW

GOKUSEN: THE MOVIE, give us a perfect goodbye to the story of Yumiko Yamaguchi.

This time, we follow the teacher as she doesn't just have to deal with a new class of delincuents, but also train a new professor, to our surprise, Ryu Odagiri. I feel like this movie, as much as it is the final period of this story, was a thank you to all the fans, as everyone got to see one last time Ryu, Kazama, Yuya and Kumai, which if you watched the three full seasons, it's definitely something genuinely so nice.

The story is a bit more serious, but just as funny, as any movie from a series tend to be, finally having a big fight at the end. I think I would love that Ryu and Yumiko had somehow became endgame, but it still was a fairly good movie.

I would recommend everyone to watch this movie to see if you'll like the tv show, and if you do, then watched it all and again this movie once you're done with the three seasons.

A PRETTY NICE ENDING OF A SERIES

GOKUSEN 3, being the ending of all the series of GOKUSEN, is still the same story of the first and second season.

with the change that this season involves two leaders of gangs who hate each other.

I think it has a smaller sad tone, the comedy stays on the same line, with a nice ending to all of it, adding a cast of Haruma Miura, a profilic actor, and few of the idols under Johnny's (now know as SMILE UP) agency.

overall a fun ending, for a fan TV show. One I would not recommend binge watch

IF IT'S KAT-TUN I COULD REWATCH THE SAME STORY FIVE TIMES

GOKUSEN 2, like GOKUSEN 1, tells the story of this caring teacher dealing with yet another class of problematic kids. One being the rich boy, and another being the poor one.

This time it stars Kamenashi Kazuya and Jin Akanishi, both members (Jin now former) of KAT-TUN, and as a fan myself of the band, and someone who has Kame as her oshi, this one is kind of my favorite. However, this season it's no different than the last one with Jun Matsumoto; heartwarming moments of kids who lost hope in adults meeting one who actually believes in them, to manga like moments that might make you laugh if you like anime or manga.

Personally, the story is the same so that's all I can say really. It's an amazing show in my opinion if you don't binge watch it, because in all the episodes it's just another story where the teacher shows the students she actually cares. I personally like it, but unless you're a fan of the actors I would not advice to binge watch it because it might get exhausting.

Besides that, it's an amazing show, very entertaining and full of handsome boys, this time with a special of the cast, and with a KAT-TUN soundtrack, sang mainly by Kamenashi, that I personally love!

TEEN GANG PLOTS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST

I'm not sure if it was this drama or the manga of Crows Zero from the 90's who kick started the almost genere of teen gangs with cute boys that rule with loyalty and friendship; whoever was it I own everything to them, because it's this genere what made me discover this drama, and so many more.

At times it might seem a bit silly, maybe a bit dumb and child-like, but once you can ignore those moments, if you're an adult or aren't simply into that content, I think the acting is fairly good, just as the plot, writting and maybe even the music.

I'm the most judgy person when it comes to dramas who have idols in it, because, in my experience, all of them tend to be so shitty and badly acted, I still have war flashbacks from 'The Killer In Me'. But surprisingly, or not that surprisingly, Jun Matsumoto fits the role of Sawada pretty well and does a fairly good acting in it. All to be said that maybe it's not needed to have such a talent for this kind of job, but it was still nice to see I never cringed or laughed with the writting or any scene.

The story, always revolving about forgotten children for society, the problematic kind, with no prospects or future who have gave up on trusting adults, only for one adult who genuinely care about them and show it through each episode never gets old. Maybe tiring at times if you binge watch the drama in a day, but definitely always entertaining in my opinion, with the typical Japanese humour that everyone who grew up with anime is used to.

So in short, I would recommend it if you're into friendship, loyalty gang stories or you like cute boys. It's not a masterpiece, but it's definitely neither something that would make you regret watching it.
