Finally it was the finale! I have been waiting for the finale just for me to see what will really happen although at the back of my mind I knew it already! I would say I have a mixed impressions on the finale and the total drama itself. One thing for sure this drama has captured the hearts of many kdrama viewers. It has the perfect production value, cinematography, writing and character development! The acting of everybody are just excellent! I salute especially Kim Go Eun as Ji-Eun Tak the bride of the Goblin. Her acting is fantastic, controlled and natural. She has matured dramatically from the last time I watched her in Cheese in the Trap. And she is just young and yet she can act incredibly good! Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In-ha also did a remarkable acting performance.

Let us go to the story. It has one of the most uniquely written story! Every plot made sense! The writer successfully made an attempt to inject many light hearted scenes to balance off the very serious theme of the drama. And this is what that mixed impressions that I am saying. This is very sad story, bittersweet and depressing! Even tough we get a happy ending ( opps possible spoiler here) it is still not a happy ending at all! Because we know that Goblin is an immortal being and after the life of the bride, Goblin stays behind and still feel sad and lonely! He will still be a wanderer alone and it hurts me to think that until when will he be living? But the central theme is the selling point of this drama, that love will see you through beyond the borders of eternity! I just want to say this, and perhaps I belong to the minorities, I cant really see the connections between the lead! I dont see any romance maybe because i see them as siblings perhaps or just an uncle-niece relationship! Blame the age gap of the leads! I just cant seem to connect with them as well.

The music is incredibly amazing! I love how they were put in the drama! It gives the fantasy feel! I like most of them.

Because of its depressing tone I will only do selective rewatching like the bromance scenes of the 2 lead actors!

Overall, this is highly recommended drama. Good acting, story and script! Worth my 16 hours of viewing.

Such an intense drama! Makjang to the max! I loved all the actors and actresses, their acting is off the grid! Chae sii ra is fantastic JJW and JCW are two excellent actors! I must admit i have cried buckets of tears especially towards the last 3 episodes! This drama displayed how awesome and brilliant the acting of the 3 leads! This is makjang in its truest sense and have spent 27 eps of drama at its peak and tearjerker to the highest level! If not for the acting of the leads, i would have dropped this midway and even there is JCW whom i dearly loved, i would say goodbye to this early on! The story is so cliche, going round and round, can they just forgive each other???

Nevertheless, i enjoyed watching this only because of JCW hahaha....

Where have you been hiding Jung Kyung Ho? I am speechless, stunned, moved by your incrdible acting! You deserved all the accolades in this drama your portrayal is so believable and outstanding!

Although the story is not quiet original, this has captivated me and at the same time so intriguing you would not like to stop watching each episodes! Andeach episodes gives you a new turn of events and twists that are all intriguing and intertwined as well! All characters are brilliantly created and screenwriting are genius!

Although to me 20 episodes is quiet long to make up the whole story, and that a midstream lag is unnecessary, however the result is still one of the best drama i have ever watched!

NOT JUST YOUR TYPICAL YOUTH ORIENTED DRAMA

This drama talks about plastic surgery a very controversial social issue but turned out to be a very positive, light hearted, romantic drama with all the positive message of inner beauty, loving yourself, growing up, first love, forgiveness, loyalty and freindship. The drama explores what is truly mens to be beautiful and happy. That is loving yourself and giving the respect that you truly deserve.

Talking about the actors, they are well chosen and that they brought life to the story. I swear Cha Eun Woo is the perfect Do Kyung suk and Im So Hyang gave beauty to Kang Mi Rae. It is like fate that brought this two to lead the drama and they gave 100
% justice to their characters. Their acting are raw, pure and natural. They are so comfortable with each other and interact with much fluidity that resulted to an excellent chemistry on screen. The supporting actors are well casted too and that they made the whole drama more relatable and delivers one of the best youth oriented genre in the last decade.

The music used fits the whole drama. OSTs made watching more ligt hearted and easy to watch. CEWs rendition of one of the background with his angelic voice becomes all the more romantic and heartwarming.

This is probably one of the few dramas I would like to rewatch again and again. If you want to feel in love and relieve your college and first love, rewatching this is the best way to do it.

All in all, this is such a heartwarming, heartfluttering drama. Light, sweet, romantic with a lifetime lessons it provides.

10/10

This is the first drama of JCW that I have watched. But it is only now that I am making a review of it. It has been my habit to make a review of all JCW's drama simply because of my love and respect for the person and the actor! I must admit, this drama made me fall in love with him the moment he appears on the screen and it goes a long long way until this very moment!

The story is just about a son and his mom (Donghae and Anna) who came back to SK to look for his biological father who happens to be an heir to an owner of a hotel conglomerate. I love how the son and mom wether all hardships and difficulties of life to finally find the long lost father and became one big happy family with the second family of the father! But what I truly admired is the family of the lead actress (BongYi) who were very kind and generous with Donghae and Anna! They have helped them through and through!
Although the drama is quiet long at 159 eps, the writer has been very consistent in keeping the pacing of not too slow and not too fast! although there were episodes that were dragging but it did not affect my viewing pleasures at all since there were many cliffhangers, twist and turns that will interest you as a viewer.

I love JiChangWook as Donghae and for me no other actor can portray Donghae effectively other than JiChangWook! It is as if the writer has JiChangWook on his mind to play when he is writing the story. Even at a young age JiChangWook has already a knacks on acting! And he can handle the role so maturely and responsibly. No wonder he was called Korea's Son after this drama is over. He was held by the many viewers with much liking and respect!

The music is not to be reckoned with but i like the OSTs which is just a few. The music is just enough to stir emotions but not enough to leave a lasting effect. But I should say because of its many episodes, and that I always listened to it, I have already come to love the music especially the opening song.

I am always been a re-watcher of JiChangWooks drama and this is no exceptions. However, I only watch those episodes which has lasting effect on me like the proposal Donghae made to BongYi at the park, so simole yet so romantic, the 2 weddings that they had, among others. I would probably watch this again once JichangWooks is enlisted in the military! A good way to be reminded of him always.

This is a highly recomended drama if you are a JiChangWook fan and love a family drama! If you are into strong family ties relationship, loving and forgiveness, this is the right drama for you!

Magnificent and Epic!

Two words i have uttered after watching the last scene of the last episode!

I do not know how to start writing my review for this absolutely, incredible historical drama! As everyone is saying, this is my first Chinese historical drama that i have watched and my first Cdrama to give my review. It was only barely 10mins that i have done watching and i am still in awed! Sure it was a slow paced drama and there is that midstream drags that we call but towards the last quarter the story is getting better, scenes becomes more dramatic and each characters begins to shine. It is like reading a book, each scene is a page turner!

STORY for me is what makes this an incredible drama to watch. It is a story of love, loyalty, trust, friendship, filial love, power and fame. What i like about this is the filial love between the imperial father to his prince sons and the respect the sons is giving to their father. Although it is a travel time story back to the Qing Dynasty, it did not dwell on the travel time genre, 99% of the story is historical in nature! I like that it only uses a minimal amount of backflashes! It has a solid and amazing plot. I was amazed by the history of Qing dynasty. Their respect for authority is admirable! I have learned the kowtow culture, it is praiseworthy!

CHARACTERS of this drama is what makes this a powerful one! Each character are brilliantly acted! Each character has its own shining moments! From the imperial majesty to the Prince Brothers to the mistresses, eunuchs, servants and of course to our heroine Rouxi! The heroine is smart, knows what she wants, she loves unconditionally not just with her heart but also with her mind! The love she has given to 8th, 4th, 14th and 13th prince are all sincere and at a different level! The friendship she had with all the servants, mistresses and concubines, eunuch and her love for her sister is simply admirable! She is now on the top 5 list of those drama characters that i loved!

MUSIC for me is what i loved the most in this drama. The opening and ending OSTs for each episodes are moving, melodious and classic! The music are perfectly edited in each scenes that make each scene more pleasurable to watch! I actually DL these OSTs and its been in my playlist since then!

I gave this a perfect 10 rating simply because i was moved, stunned, entertained, awed by watching this amazing, not easy to forget drama! Surely this will easily become one of my top best drama ever!

For me MND is one of those light romantic comedy with a heart shows our there. But i would say this is different as it offers a fresh and raw views of dating relationship. The two leads are just so convincing with off the chart chemistry that i almost ship them in real life! Yes, there are cliches here but you can just slide them and would not affect the total result of the drama!

This is warm, with so much fun and laughter but i am warning you you would need box of tissues as there are crying scenes towards the end of the shows!

Two thumbs up for the other supporting characters esp the mother of Gong kitae, such an award winning performance for a mother and martyred wife character!

It is a summer romcom hence the very light wardrobes and wow those legs of Han groo is a plus!

One thing for sure, i had real heartache watching this sageuk! Ending is heartbreaking! And the Cho Rip plot on the last episode should have not been included! One of the best bromance story i have ever watched! Even better than Brokeback Mountain! Ji changwook and Yeo soong ho are such brilliant actors, two and handsome sharing in one screen i could not ask for more! One redeeming aspect in this drama are the friendship stories of both the older generation and the young ones! I like the other actors but not the lead actress, no life at all in the acting dept! Plot and writing are a mess, so many irrelevant issues and scenes.

But there are of course many good points here like cinematography, stunning locations, and the music, it just set the moods and it blended well with the scenes.

This I will still highly recommend if you are into sageuk and action drama and if you are a huge fan of JichangWook (which yours truly is!) and Yeo Seoung Ho.

I will give is drama an 8 rating because:

1. The story is not original but the writer gave a better take of what a revenge should be -- sweet revenge that is! Since this is a legal story, i am pleased that it did not follow the ugly route of killings at the end, that it still follow the course of taking the case in the court to get the two father and son antagonist and to eventually punish them legally and that at the end even there is a massive corruption and bribery, justice still prevails! The loveline is just enough for a fanservice since to me it is not the central focus of the drama!

2. The cast are excellent performers all of them. They provided a very well acted performance for each of their characters! I just wished the judge and the sister have given lengthy time since i find them real good actors! The 2 leads are short of chemistry i think! There are awkwardness between them and you can see them but it is negligible in the total scheme of the drama. They are more of a brother-sister to me than a lover!

3. The music is just ok but not memorable!
4. This is the kind of drama i would not like to re watch again for simple reason that it is so sad and melo.

Overall, the ending for me is a satisfying one, though it is an open-ended, you can still find the fulfilment of a good, thrilling, intense show! Give it a try if you want these in a drama.

"Melting Me Softly for all its worth is a beautiful lovestory!"

Perhaps I am part of those minority who like this drama. It actually a throwback to traditional korean drama where, simple, sweet, fluffy, not to mention the annoying side characters, the shouting etc... I did not say this does not have issues (editing, story telling and the likes...) but for me if you just like to spend 16 hours of pure fun, fluffiness and waiting for that love to happen, then this is for you. Also, i find the chemistry of the leads very cool and sweet and I think they look good together. Ji Chang Wook indeed has a good chemistry to all of his female leads co stars.

Overall, I like how they ended the drama, it is inspiring and full of hope. This drama will let you move to love more your loved ones and appreciate them on a daily basis. And this will make us believe again that LOVE is patient...is kind...is hopeful.

This is a slow paced drama with many long and boring convos! Dont get me wrong i love the premise of a long time best friend turned into lovers! I dragged myself into finishing this only because i would want to know how the loveline would progress!

The story is just simple, no maddening mom (nan hee's mom cannot consider one since she is too way a loving mom to her daughter), no evil third party, not a rich man lead etc. what i like about this is the writer's view of a mature, frank, non- bs relationship between a man and a woman in their 30s. Their friendship is one of a kind! It shows how a pure friendship is slowly turning to a pure romantic relationship without the pressure of making it too fast! I think that's where the beauty of this drama!

The two leads acted with chemistry! It seems they really know each other very well! But if you are looking for a top notch chemistry, this may not be what are looking for!

Overall, i am satisfied with the drama, the ending has fulfilled the desires of its viewers! Go and give this a try!
