A man reminisces about a high school friend and their close relationship. As a kid, he was shy but another boy in his class chose to go all-out to befriend him. This is short; not a lot of story in 30 minutes. A quick watch if you got nothing else to watch. The ending isn't happy or sad, just ends.

STORY: * BL and GL themes * This is not a continuation of the movie but a series remake. It starts out with a clear plot: Save the Swim Club! But the plot wanders a lot and gets lost.

ACTING/CAST: You'll recognize much of the cast from other Thai series.

MUSIC: The theme song and its lyrics are good, and it was English Subbed (at least later episodes).

REWATCH VALUE: Maybe a BL cut but otherwise not really.

OVERALL: There are hot bodies and some funny moments, and the second BL couple is also cute. I was disappointed in the overall lack of direction.

Episodes are English-subbed by Part Time Subbers (Thanks guys!).

STORY: The description above sums it up but I have to say that Season 2 was spectacular. It beat all my expectations. The first half of the season was a solid 10. The writing was so damn good. The second half slowed down so I'd give it an 8. Each episode focuses on one of the cast, but does have side scenes of the other members. The episodes of Win and Phu were especially good. Phai's episode stunned me, it was shocking; I don't think I could ever watch that episode again...ever.

One thing that bugged me was that all of the relationships were harmed by one of the partners still being in love with an ex. Why was this theme so overused?? It would have been nice if at least one couple had a healthy and stable relationship where one wasn't still in love with some old flame.

As far as the LGBT themes, there is a girl couple and a guy couple, but not enough screen time was devoted to this topic, and it wasn't presented in a positive way; realistic maybe, but why can't a gay couple be happy?

ACTING/CAST: I liked all the cast but not all the characters. (I wasn't really all that fond of Sprite or Phai, even though the actress playing Sprite is amazingly cute.) Some are better than others and some have one-dimensional presentations or flat performances. Also, missed opportunity for this show, but dammit I wanted MORE POP! He was a great character that was underused!

MUSIC: I am always impressed with Thai drama music. This was no exception. There's a ton of great music here and many original songs. It's apparent some of the cast are also musicians.

REWATCH VALUE: I don't know if I'll watch it all a second time, but I might rewatch the episodes of Win and Phu.

OVERALL: This season rocked. The Movie was slow, Season 1 was OK, but Season 2 knocked it out of the ballpark. Again, first half was better but as a whole it was worth it.

STORY: There are 2 extra chapters, each 10 minutes long. They deal with Liang Ze's drinking problem. It's not clear where this take place in the timeline, before or after episode 10. Still, it's 20 more minutes of watching this cute couple.

If you liked the main story, watch this.

HINT: Google "Yandaixiejie Additional Chapters". They are on YouTube.

STORY: Details above describe it well but I will add that the story is sweet and real. Hang Hang (HH) can't help but fall in love with Liang Ze (LZ) but LZ isn't able to fully comprehend what this means because he's straight. There are a lot of great moments in this series and LZ is irresistible; if only he truly understood what he does to HH. Some say this has a sad ending but I don't believe it was. It was a somber cliffhanger but it was real: nobody died, it wasn't a tragedy, but I hope season 2 happens cause this story ain't over yet folks!

Total run-time: 3h 17m over 10 episodes, about 20m each. But like the trend in these dramas, the opening and closing credit eat up 3.5 minutes each; so binge on.

ACTING/CAST: Amazing chemistry. Actor Luo Yi Hang (Liang Ze) is amazingly cute and he plays his part well, so well that I couldn't keep my eyes off him every scene he was in. The rest of the cast were also very attractive.

MUSIC: Good for a short web series. In fact, in the extra episodes, which you must watch, it is revealed that a popular Chinese musician (via a cameo) actually sings the theme song. Way cool!

REWATCH VALUE: Yes, I want more LZ in my life.

OVERALL: A nice, warm show that's not complicated but does have some funny moments and some very serious ones. I think the pacing is a little slow in parts but overall a good show.

MISC: Watch the end credits at least once...wow. Don't forget to watch the special too. Google Yandaixiejie Additional Chapters. There's a part 1 and part 2 on YouTube, each 10 minutes long.

STORY: A group of gay guys drink at a party and all wake up to find themselves locked in a house with a killer on the loose. This CANNOT be based on a real story. It's a horrific and insensitive tale about an anti-homosexual organization out to "cure" or kill gays and I was somewhat offended. I suppose every story must be told but damn: take everything that was good about the first two seasons and destroy it. They did a tie-in with the previous seasons and it ends terribly. I was severely disappointed. If they thought it was poetic or something, they are wrong. This does have a happy ending but it felt almost like: Well, we showed you a F***** up story for 2 hours so here's a carrot.

ACTING/CAST: They did a good job but the only part of this video I cared for was the relationship between Feng Yi Chen and Run Yi. I felt the love they had for each and their tears made me tear up too. Good chemistry.

MUSIC: Standard for this kind of show.

REWATCH VALUE: No, thanks.

OVERALL: I hated this and am sorry I watched it. Very disappointed. This is a story that didn't need to be told.

STORY: The details section covers this well. It's a powerful story that deals heavily with gay rights and adoption. Happy ending.

ACTING/CAST: The little boy stole the show for me. The rest of the cast were OK but most were so one-dimensional. Only Yuke seemed to have any real passion.

MUSIC: Standard fare.

REWATCH VALUE: I may watch it again sometime if I have a friend along for the ride.

OVERALL: The story plods along slowly. There are lots of scenes with no dialog, as intended I'm sure. It's a good movie but a bit slow for me.

STORY: Uh... This movie is a manga in movie form. It's quite bizarre. The movie even has scenes in it that present it as manga. Basically it's about a wormhole that keeps transporting various things into this guy's house, including a police officer from Taiwan; also has a missing persons mystery. It is campy in some spots, kinda humorous.

ACTING/CAST: Um... yeah. Well the three leads were cute. Everything about this production is weird so I have no idea how to rate the acting.

MUSIC: Well... there is some but lots of scenes with none.

REWATCH VALUE: I doubt it but I'll give it to a friend.

OVERALL: You'd have to see this movie yourself. It does deserve to be watched once if nothing more than to satisfy curiosity. This must have been a cinch to translate to English; the dialog is sparse. It's like a manga with many panels of looks, stares, and such, with minimal dialog--you know what I mean if you read manga. The ending is neutral; neither happy nor sad, just ends.

STORY: The details section describes it well. This moving is BORING! It is 2 hours of watching paint dry! There's no humor to speak of, I'm not fond of people who cheat on their boy/girlfriends, unrequited love is tiresome, and the whole girl-infatuated-with-some-pop-idol-she-can't-possibly-ever-be-with story is annoying.

ACTING/CAST: Well, they did their jobs.

MUSIC: There was some OK music in this.

REWATCH VALUE: Um, if I have insomnia, this could be the cure.

OVERALL: Did I say this was BORING?

Want something sweet to watch on an afternoon that will make you smile? This will do.

STORY: Same as the details section but I add that she wants to draw a BL cartoon.

Total run-time: approx. 2 hours over 8 episodes, 15 minutes each; a binge-worthy series.

ACTING/CAST: Cute cast and fun to watch, especially Joo Seung Joon and Yoo Ji Wan!

MUSIC: Sorry, didn't pay attention.

REWATCH VALUE: Hell yeah! Gotta see this once more.

OVERALL: Funny, sweet, cute, hot guys, though it is short but I felt long enough to tell a fun story. I might mention there's no overt BL in this but it is suggestive enough to enjoy it. It's got a happy ending too.

STORY: A guy (Chu Tian Ji) has a long-time roommate (Xin You Zhu) who is in love with him but he doesn't feel the same and fears he may not be able to return the love. Chu meets a woman he comes to like but he has a severe distrust of women based on a bad childhood experience.

ACTING/CAST: Nice cast, they do a good decent job acting. BTW: I used the cast names as they are in the list. I don't know Chinese, Pinyin, or anything else.

MUSIC: There's a real cool song sung by Xin that I wish was translated. The video I watched had audio quality issues so I'm not really how to grade this.

REWATCH VALUE: Nah.

OVERALL: The best part of this series are the BL moments. The rest was rather boring. You might be tempted to watch the fan-edited clips that omit everything but the BL. It's not bad to do so but the boring bits do add overall to the story and explain the funky ending. The worse part about the BL is that it's all one-sided romantic love. Xin is "waiting" on Chu to fall in love with him (do people really do this?). It's true, Chu loves Xin but "not in that way." Super annoying. And to have to sit through 4.5 hours of it!? Xin deserved better than that. Oh yeah, the ending: it's not bad or good, just open ended, like a cliff-hanger. Nobody dies. It just...ends. This story is simply unfinished. Also apparently the first 8 episodes deal with Chu and Xin, the second 8 episodes are a different story/cast. I can't seem to find those though.

TL;DR: Well, if you want to watch a slow, one-sided, unrequited burn that ends abruptly, this is your ticket.

STORY: Besides what's in the description above, I'll add that this is a drama that takes place in China during an "anti-Japanese" war with two factions fighting against one another. There is a lot of covert plots, espionage, secret service, and all that great stuff. This series was really gripping. I was glued for a 15 episode binge.

Total run time: approx 5h 23m. Each episode is around 18-22 minutes long but have 5 minutes of credits and in some cases another minute of what happened last episode. Take that all out and the run time is a lot shorter. Easy to binge in one setting with the fast-forward button.

ACTING/CAST: Same basic cast that is in Love Is More Than a Word. So it was nice to see them in different parts. They all do a great job. I totally loved Lu Zhou in both dramas and in this one he's a gun-wielding bad-ass. Also, the villian, Gu Han, from The Fairy Fox makes a cameo in one episode; see if you can spot him.

MUSIC: It was great actually. It made this show seem like a sweeping epic.

REWATCH VALUE: Of course! This is a great show with so much intrigue I need to watch it again.

OVERALL: Amazing production value. Shot in full 1080p! The sets and costume design are spectacular. It's a gorgeous production. I wish each episode was longer: credits just chew up so much screen time. For those looking for the BL aspect, there isn't anything overt but maybe something will happen in season 2.

STORY: An illiterate and uneducated young man becomes mayor of a province because the position was bought for him. Now he must overcome his humble background and learn to navigate court life. Also his position requires him to act as a judge. The setting is in China's past. This show has a lot of things you would see a drama about court life: intrigue, gossip, backstabbing, evil plots, etc. This also showcases many conversations of people speaking politely with each other but their words are a double-edged sword. There is a bromance between TaoMo and GuShe that lasts the entire series.

SIDE NOTE: Been watching the English Sub, YouTube, 1080p, approx 30 minutes per episode, translated by Yzd_International_Fanclub, thanks guys!

ACTING/CAST: This is quite an attractive cast, and they play their parts very well.

MUSIC: Very good throughout the series.

REWATCH VALUE: Yup.

OVERALL: I'm am AMAZED at the production value of this! The set design and costume design are A+. It's a gorgeous production. I can't wait to watch more!

This is a series based on real stories of people's life experiences so I'm not going to be critical about any parts of the stories. I will briefly describe each episode.

Episode 1: Us Against the World. Two school boys start dating and are faced with harassment, bullying, and violence.

Episode 2: Beijing Beijing. Two boys develop a relationship that is torn apart by family as one boy sacrifices their love to protect the other. Three years later they meet again.

Episode 3: The Groomsman. A happy gay couple celebrate their third anniversary but the relationship is threatened by a mother who wants her only son to have a proper family with kids. The other guy is willing to sacrifice the relationship so his boyfriend can be happily married to a woman.

Episode 4: I Promise You a City. Two men are in a long-term relationship and struggle with joblessness and infidelity.

ACTING/CAST: Overall I liked all of the cast for these episodes. The boys in Episode 1 were very cute.

MUSIC: Don't remember.

REWATCH VALUE: Sure, I'll watch it with a friend. I know how the stories end, and 2 have happy endings, 2 are somber (not sad really). Also they are really short episodes to rewatch.

OVERALL: Based on true stories, it was worth watching.

STORY: Two guys from school meet before Driver's Ed and become fast friends. This movie felt pretty low budget. What I really liked about this movie was the ending. A lot of things happen in this movie and it is all explained in the end. There are some sweet moments; especially in the restaurant with the cards they write on...SO romantic.

ACTING/CAST: Both are cute guys and they do a good job. In fact, all the cast did fine. Nothing stellar but adequate for the story.

MUSIC: I was amazed at the music line-up they had for this They had Union J, Adam Lambert, Norah Jones, Neil Sedaka, Ronghao Li, and others. Certainly a surprise considering the audio was uneven and many times you could hear the wind blowing into the microphones or it sounded like the audio was being recorded from a phone.

REWATCH VALUE: Maybe. As I said, the ending was neat, but the overall audio/video quality is annoying.

OVERALL: Nice story with some good scenes and a sweet, romantic ending. There are also outtakes during/after the credit roll.
