Odd vampire/love story

I’m not quite sure what I just watched. The storyline was pretty straightforward except for the twist in the end - which I don’t know exactly how to interpret. It was like the show didn’t know whether to be a comedy or a vampire story so it landed somewhere in between - and not in the good way. I found myself skipping along the way because it was kind of boring.
Character wise:
FL is a vampire that despite her being that, is unable to fight other vampires. Perhaps she is too kind and sweet. ML is a movie director who is a scammer but also quite street-smart.
Acting wise this is pretty good but the directing made the characters odd and borderline silly.
Well, if you are into either love or vampire stories, this is not interesting enough. If you have some time to waste, this is an ok watch.

No words.

No words.

This movie was beyond disturbing.

I watched the Noir version. And I'm at a loss for words.

The way it all end up playing out for Haruto/Yuki rubbed me the wrong way.

My question is how did Haruto end up falling in love with Aoyama/Mr. Aoyama? He, firstly, was just really weird around Haruto from the start. Like Aoyama was the biggest walking red flag and everything he did towards Haruto at the beginning was weird and creepy. Exchanging diaries with your teacher is WEIRD. Like nothing about that is okay whatsoever. Then he kissed him in his sleep...what? How. Does. That. Make. You. Fall. For. Someone? I am actually confused

Everything bad that happened to Haruto was tied back to Aoyama. That was fucked. Because his life was absolute hell.

After someone admitted all that to me, I WOULDNT SLEEP WITH THEM. Not that it is, you know, weird, but there has always got to be some anterior motive, and in that case, I was right. there was.

He wasn't actually in love with him. He, I think, just had a thing for teenage boys/younger guys. Because the ending showed him swiping through the pics and Ryoma, if I am not mistaken, WAS LITERALLY THERE SLEEPING.

I had to pause multiple times to rethink my life choices.

I truly don't think I want to watch the other movies.

Actually a bit of a spoiler (accidentally watched 45 seconds into the 2nd movie) **

Aoyama dies. ***

The acting also fucked with me. It was good. Too good. The actor of Haruto especially. He played the deadpan innocent naive young boy really well.

The music was solid. It transitioned the gruesome shots nicely.

The story. What. The. Fuck. Not at all hard to follow, but brooo felt like I was in a fever dream and couldn't wake up. It was awful. OMG. I just remembered that weird goat scene. Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why WHYYYYYYYY was that necessary? And the look on that guy's face, as he was following the red collar, was scary and is now ingrained in my head.

It's the end of the review and I still haven't come up with a rating yet...

Final rating, 5.5/10. That's the lowest I have given a show or a movie. So wow.

Sorry for the grammar errors, English is my first language. Just bad at it.

Wherever the road brings us!

I wanted to watch the original title before watching the actual drama 'Hometown Cha Cha Cha' cause i have this stupid rule to read/watch the OG first and then go to the adaptation.

The movie was pretty cute and little cheesy but it's a rom-com. It is what it is. It's after a long time i am watching a perfectly balanced rom-com. It's might not be the perfect rom-com but it did have a balance and didn't tip of the cringe scale.

It's starts out like any English movie and then to the dramatic scene. Then proceeds to have a annoying first meeting and then to a wide no. of coincidences and then the helping/getting to know each other scene even tho here it's just her getting help from him.

Since it's a Korean rom-com set in the sea side village, it might get some ppl annoyed cause in a village, your business is not your business alone anymore and privacy is not a choice anymore. Everyone cares abt what you do and you have to put an effort to remember what others do too. The drama starts out by random suggestions by ML in FL's lifestyle but then it's not like offensive.
Mr. Hong was the one character that was portrayed raw. He is good and everything but grounded. He has flaws but no one knows. He acts like an elder but that's just how he is.

The acting was pretty good but maybe cause it was old, i could see sometimes the acting was very stereotypical and straight of the textbook.
Other than that i loved the FL's BFF/assistant, she was so cuteeeeeee.

Music was nice. It really gave a feel good movie song vibe. Cliche but okay.

Overall, it was an nice movie. I won't re-watch but it has potential of a re-watch. Cute movie.

A Charming Movie About Likeable Losers

The film is not a mass market, crowd pleaser because it has no major plot arc. It is, after all, about two slackers who just do handyman jobs. Thus, the pace is as meandering as their lives. But that is also it's charm. Because they are likeable losers and their conversations, antics and encounters with clients are all quite entertaining and funny. Moreover, it's endearing to observe them slowly -- and unwittingly -- develop a little bromance.

The most wonderful thing, however, is how they also unwittingly change their clients' lives in tiny, tender, ways. And it surprises you with moments of depth, such as when one lead tells a neglected child that life doesn't always have to be so cold because, as he puts it, "You can give the love that you did not get. You can offer love to someone else as long as you are alive." There are also bits of warm wisdom, as when a minor character tells one of the leads, "You don't look too good. Remember, smiling is the door to heaven."

Many comments here compared it with the sequel, which was created as a 12 part series. The series stars the same two leads, but it's written and directed by a different person and, hence, the sensibility is quite different. The main difference is that the series has a lighter sensibility designed for broader appeal, while this has the sensibility of an Indy film. In other words, the series lacks the darker, deeper qualities of the original film. I still recommend the series, but the film is superior, and you should either choose the film over the series, or watch the film first.

After all, it is a film with an abundance of depth, tenderness, careful character development, brilliant chemistry between the leads, offbeat humor, and true heart. If the best a person can say of a film is that they were "moved by it," well, I must say that I was genuinely moved by this film.

Heavy watch

Honestly this movie will leave you extremely exhausted after finishing it. I remember watching this for the first time at night and it only made the experience realer, as if I was the one who was getting chased by a serial killer. It’s good and the actors’ great acting will suck you in on it and make it feel like you’re right there with the victim.

Though do beware that in this movie a lot of things happen at once, a lot of violence and emotional scenes. It feels as though you can’t even catch a breath for a moment. Everything happens in one day and it doesn’t let you to experience another day where you feel ease and catch a break- no, it ropes you in and it doesn’t let you go until the end.

So if you’re up for a very exhausting (yet good!) movie, then this is definitely it.

Easier to confide in a stranger

A really good movie, cute and bold, but which for once considers man/woman relationships in a realistic way, with an oh so cute Ji Sung!

A man depressed after his breakup, receives a sex call in the middle of the night (in fact intended for the FL's boyfriend). They will discover each other step by step and end up really loving each other.

Excellent directing, good OST and a lot of young actors who will become famous later...

Heartbreak..Theirs and Mine

I won't bore you with fancy entertainment industry words such as cinematography, direction, etc. Treeless Mountain (named for the small branch of a tree the youngest, Bin, and her sister, Jin, "planted" on the top of a gravel/dirt pile in their aunt's neighborhood is an extremely slow slice of life movie. The tree branch was a metaphor for the sisters' plight.

Treeless Mountain isn't a feel-good movie.

There isn't any background music (bgm), very little interaction between the grown folks and the girls, and has an overall feeling of hopelessness about it as we're carried along by the girls daily survival, first under the "care" of the aunt, then by their grandparents in the country.

Wonderful Ghost\The Soul-Mate.

A really moving movie, I didn't stop crying.
I don't think it's a comedy except for the part where Jang-soo sees Tae-jin for the first time.
A short and effective film for the purpose without unnecessary smearing of the plot.

Jang-soo is a judo coach who is indifferent to what is happening around him following the death of his wife.
Besides his daughter whom he cherishes more than anything.
One day Jang-soo discovers that he can see Tae-jin, the spirit of a dedicated police officer who had an accident while investigating a human trafficking case.
Despite his attempts to avoid Tae-jin, he is swept away after him to try to solve the case that Tae-jin was working on before he was hurt.

“Liking Boys is Innate.”

That’s it. This is the explanation that most people fail to understand. I'd suggest this movie to anyone who has just begun to step into the world of BL as I've several people cheer over gay people portrayed in media, yet say that they are against LGBTQ+, which is inhumane.
I do not know how much Taiwan has changed in the past few years, but this one was brutal to watch. This is more of a slice-of-life-amidst-crisis kind of movie, so if you are expecting some "wholesome" story with a neat ending a strong plotline... let's just say gear up.

Narrated to the Priest of their school by a boy, A-Han, the love story between him and a delinquent student Birdy, is slowly revealed. However, in times when homosexuality is considered a sin, how will the two manage to prove that their love was worth it?
I’ve decided that “Bestfriends to lovers” trope is one that I hate, but still torture myself with cause these kind of stories if portrayed well, manages to convey emotions like a punch in the gut.

It was difficult to watch for a number of reasons. There is a point in the movie where we see the gradual shift in its tone as both the boys try to “normalize” their lives, then there are the frequent inner conflicts of the characters that we feel through the screen, particularly due to the outstanding performance by both the leading actors.
I think the final scene of them as teenagers was the nail on the coffin for me. There are questions raised and Morales challenged, which is necessary.
The main song “Your Name Engraved Herein” was beautiful to listen to.
There were intense "NC" scenes that were a bit difficult for me to watch. But, kudos to the actors for being able to depict such intense emotions seamlessly.
Definitely worthy of a watch, even if it hurts you.

We lack proper setup for the characters, we're dumped right into the story and it's all over the place. I know it's kind of the point as we are led through past and present in a quest for information, but I found it a bit odd.

The script is needlessly convoluted (but kinda neat sometimes to be honest) and also hella bleak, which makes for a weird experience.

But it managed to win me over with an engaging performance by the lead played by Son Ye-jin, and interesting editing.

I'm kind of expecting more with Korean thrillers to be honest. The directing was… uneven.

More focus on the characters and why I should care, please.

Worth its time!

I saw this movie during a Festival of Japanese Movies.

Directed by Keitaro Sakon, the movie catches his audience like a storm.
A young woman with a very strong character pushes all strings of her psychological
ability in order to kick out of resignation the members of her family.
While pursuing her aims she hurts the feelings of others and of herself in unexpected way.

I liked very much the interpretation of the main lead (Morita Kokoro) but also the other
actors did a great job. There was no second when I felt bored or when I had to excuse the creators for their art or choices.

The final of the movie is open, it is fully unclear what should we expect to happen next.
Surprisingly, this open end does not feel unsatisfactory!
This movie is definitely worth the time invested in watching it!

Who comes up with these ideas?

This started so normal if we compare it to how it ended. I was in tears from crying during the last 20 minutes. Undoubtedly they had a lot of creative freedom while writing and filming this movie.

It has everything - decent CGI, awful CGI, small snakes, big snakes, friendship, romance, morality lessons, social commentary - all in the amazing trash quality.

I did laugh because of a few stupid jokes that were perfectly timed and well-delivered. I’m just glad there were exactly zero seconds where they tried to be serious about the plot. The acting was surprisingly fine - ain’t no high production quality mainstream title, but I was expecting something far worse.

Whatever comes to your mind after seeing the poster and the title is exactly what you will get.

HOLY F*CK AND SPOILERS

I watched this some time ago and now i thought its the time to say something about it. The sentence that best describes what i felt when i watched it is WHAT THE ACTUAL F**CK DID I JUST WATCH?? Yes. Exactly. Trust me when i say this, i never watched something like this in my life nor did i ever hear about something like this. I watched it out of boredom and curiosity at 3am. Not the best idea i ever had. I dont usually have trouble following along a movie or a show, but this? Im surprised i was able to finish it and oh boy what an ending it had... I gave the acting 7 stars because good job to them for being able to act in this. The story? I refuse to make myself remember every little detail because i tried so hard to forget it. Long story short, if you re into some kind of weird, messed up love triangle between 1 man who left to pursue his dream, 1 who was bullied and was drowning in a deep depression after his lover left and 1 who is HIS BROTHER, this is the BL is for you. Also, if you re into a brother obssessing over his own brother and kill*ing him at the end because of jealousy (and cuddling his dead body) then sure, watch and enjoy. But if not, DONT DO IT. Take it from someone who did and then asked herself "what was i thinking?"

This movie its sad. I wanted to say that. Actually, sad its an understatement.
This will be the whole review. If you wanna watch something sad by definition, do it. But be aware of mentions and scenes of homo**obia. The acting is amazing, they re able to make you feel the sadness, trauma and anger the protagonist felt.
Besides the beating scene that made me happy because that horrible human deserved it, its sad all the way through. Even the 18+ scenes have some kind of sad feel to them. The ending its, again, sad (no surprise there). I wish this would ve had a sequel or something because the characters deserved one and i wanted to see if they ever meet again and maybe have a happy ending. I guess we cant always get one.

Song Joong Ki as a pining wolf boy in the '60s countryside: a "must see" ^^

The story is centred around the encounter in the '60s in the countryside of a young woman and a "wolf boy", a young man clearly not used to human interactions and society rules. I loved a lot the premise of this movie as well as its setting in the past. It allowed a certain suspension of disbelief. What could seem impossible made indeed much more sense in the context of a small rural village in the sixties and after the war context. Story-wise, it was fascinating to see the development of the relationship between the two main protagonists. The only little default is the "contemporary" storyline which I felt did not add much to film overall.

This movie is starring some actors and actresses that I generally like. The pairing between Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Young works pretty well. The first one manages to transmit a lot of emotions without any need for dialog, the viewer is able to see everything through the eyes of his character. The second one does also a very good job as the central figure to the story, with a lot of poignant scenes successfully acted. Yoo Yeon Seok was excellent: I was quite shocked to see him in an antagonist role and he surpassed my expectations playing a despicable character. Jang Young Nam, in a supporting role, gives once again a great performance as the motherly figure trying her best to make lemonade with the lemons that life gave her.

Though some of the visual effects feel a bit outdated, the production value is pretty good overall. I found the sceneries and decors really well made: some were frightening and providing a chilling atmosphere, some were heart-warming and bright. There is one specific scene where music is particularly important that I liked a lot. The remaining soundtrack was not necessarily memorable.

I would recommend this to people looking for a good movie, well-acted with an interesting plot balancing pretty well several genres. It is a quite surprising and effective melange of slice-of-life and fantasy with some elements of thriller and romance. If you love one of the actors/actresses of the cast, it is a "must see". Strangely enough, even if the scenario has nothing to do with it, it kind of remind me in a way of "Titanic" in terms of relationships, characters and plot structure.
