Not bad for a short drama

I usually don’t watch short drama, but this wasn’t bad. The plot was okay, I was a bit boarded sometimes.

Finally a drama with absolutely no useless and annoying love triangle, thanks for that

The acting was really good and the costumes were great. Also the leads have amazing chemistry with hot kisses. This guy really know how to kiss ahah he has passionate kiss in all his dramas I saw videos of, he’s like the king of short drama too ahah He’s a good actor and so handsome. I will check his other drama for sure, but the one with happy ending

I had a feeling the brother was a bad guy and I was right, that was predictable

A bit disappointed we didn’t get to see a grandson at the end, they kept mentioning it

But I like the ending, a happy ending that wasn’t too short

I would recommend this short drama

Father Is Too H*rny To Notice What His Son Needs

Premise is interesting about time travelling so the father can save his son from the impending suicide.

Let's go with the negative first. While it is an eye-opener about teenagers having suicide and the lack of parent's understanding of their child, I don't get the point of the father using sex as a tool to save his son. He had sex with all the guys in the story, except his son and the man who controls time. Sure he is desperate, and did everything in his power, but I think too much time travelling made him a whore. In one of the timelines, in the attempt to save his son, the son even sees his own father having sex with his boyfriend like WTF. Talk about a mental damage on the son's part.

Some scenes cringed me with the sub-par acting. Although the actor who plays the father, son, and time man did okay. The others? Drowned to oblivion. They are like reading the script while the camera is rolling.

Now the positive side of the drama, acting is good, and the overall message of the series is great! However, I think the conflict can be solved quickly and the drama can be cut in less-than an hour, if only the father investigate first the source of his son's suicide instead of jumping to conclusions.

Music is repetitive and dull. They use the same sounds in the sex scenes and the suicide scenes. Oh, did I mention that it is flat, mundane. and prosaic? Yes I know I use words with almost the same meaning, which makes me more creative than the repetitious music that they used.

Overall, it's not a horrible film. The muddled execution is the problem why it didn't achieve it's potential. Take this with a grain of salt, watch it and be your own judge.

If You Want Unserious And Fluffy Drama, This Is For You!

Basically a series full of humorous misunderstanding from start to end. Everyone is adorable, supportive, and cute.

As someone who's into heavy and heart wrenching drama, surprisingly this one entertained me. It has it's conflicts but it gets resolved easily and still handled well.

The acting is somewhat over the top, but I guess it's how it is in Japanese media especially if the series is adapted from a manga to maintain the animated feels of the characters.

Music is nice and fits the drama, but not my cup of tea.

Overall a delightful easy to watch show made for laughs and romantic cuteness.

An Exciting Crime Thriller

How often have we questioned the leniency of the judicial system?

Adapted from the webtoon, “Vigilante” ( 비질란테) written by CRG and starring Nam Joo Hyuk in the lead role, Disney+ latest psychological thriller answers this question and some more. After “The Worst of Evil”, I was expecting another exciting ride and “Vigilante” doesn’t disappoint. It is a rather fast-paced crime thriller that will instantly grab your attention and make you venture a guess about the protagonist’s thoughts. It is indeed a dark sojourn, no prizes for guessing that. Frankly, “Vigilante” represents all those victims who failed to gain justice against their evil perpetrators. It is gusty, violent and likely justified, even though there might be many who can’t accept the brutality extended by the main lead towards various assailants. The main character’s duality and his complex emotions form the gist of this storyline. What I loved about this show is that the script doesn’t shy away from using violence as a viable means to punish outlaws who escape punishments using the loopholes in the judicial system. Nam Joo-hyuk’s uncanny transformation from a romantic hero to an action hero delivering justice is surprising and shocking. The first two episodes project an anti-hero in the making, who hightails as a police academy student on weekdays and as the “Vigilante” on weekends.

Insane

I watched this a while back and was utterly disappointed. I understand some low budget films aren't of the best quality, but even then the stories are adequate. However this was garbage.
It was a mixture of horror, COVID, and magic. Honestly one the most confusing shows I have seen since the pandemic started. The acting was poor as was the chemistry between the characters. It confused me at the end though, his face went back to normal after it was destroyed by acid just because he was like the lady Jaclyn? I felt bad for the dude with acne, he was an outcast just because of his skin. Since he had no one he was prone to become obsessive with no real luck and made him behave erratically.

Somewhat Soothing, Somewhat Slow

Overall Rating: 7.5/10

This was a mostly sweet story about 2 teenagers coming to terms with their deep feelings for each other. It was by no means groundbreaking or fresh; but it is something that is surprisingly hard to find lately in bls - and that says a lot about the quality of the bls out there today.

It is astounding how hard I had to search to find a good quality bl of this genre and for that, it gets extra points from me. It was a bit slow at times and there were a few points that I wish they explored a little deeper - for example, the "I love you but I'm too scared to change our relationship status because I don't want to lose you" trope that was very heavily expressed throughout the episodes. But for now, this will have to do.

It didn't totally satiate my craving for fluff as it was only present in little amounts and mostly concentrated at the end of the episode but there were enough good points for me to look past that.

I also really want to call attention to one character in particular - Hosuke. He was a really good friend. He was kind and wise and never failed to give reliable advice even at times when Yamato seemed resistant to it. I really loved his dynamic with Yamato and I wish it was explored in more depth; however, considering how scarcely healthy friendship dynamics are shown in bls, this much is good enough for me.

I wouldn't be completely closed of to a second season - I feel it would be really intriguing to watch how the character's dynamics change as they mature.

P.S: Forgive my redundancy - I've had a really long day...

the fine line between depression and hope, normalcy and abnormality

It is a delightful 12-episode Kdrama series on Netflix that shares a spiritual connection with the beloved "Hospital Playlist." This time, it takes us to the Psychiatry unit, offering a compelling narrative that revolves around the dedicated nurses and doctors who work there.

The show ingeniously navigates the intricate realm of mental health, dissecting the fine line between depression and hope, normalcy and abnormality. With every episode, it delves into the profound and diverse experiences of its patients, ranging from paranoia to exhilarating mania-induced dance routines, and the intricate transition of OCD and hyper fixations.

What truly stands out is the show's ability to evoke empathy, enabling the audience to intimately understand and resonate with the profound struggles of the patients. The stellar cast and gripping storyline combine to create a captivating and heartwarming series that shines a much-needed spotlight on the importance of mental health. "Daily Dose of Sunshine" is a must-watch, offering a beautiful blend of humanity and healing.

Enjoyed every second

I finished this drama in one day and it was really one of the most beautifully shot dramas I’ve ever watched. It’s been awhile since I’ve enjoyed a slow paced slow burn type drama.

Although the drama may seem slow each scene and interaction was purposeful, the focus on the main characters and how they slowly developed their relationship really took me on a journey and resonated with every single one of their emotions.

At first I was a bit confused about the ending as I felt like it might’ve seen like it ended on a negative note but upon further inspection we know that from the opening scenes of Ep8 and ep 9 won joon is wearing the same jacket and suit he was wearing at the end of the ep9 and we know from the buildings and train tracks that they were in Japan. Letting us know they they were able to continue their relationship and finally be happy together.

Overall this drama definitely surprised me because I saw some mixed reviews but mostly watched it for Bae Suzy but it was amazing and she did an amazing job with the drama and acting and I loved all her outfits!

I HOPE THEY REACH MORE (Audience)

A perfect reminder of that sweet first high-school love.

A quick recap. This is the story of Yamato, the perfect student who is liked by everyone, but only yearns the love of his dorky childhood friend Kakeru, whom he liked for a long time. His feelings for Kaeru grew so strong, that even if he was afraid he'd be rejected, mustered up all his courage to finally confess to Kakeru. Kakeru on the other hand discovers that he himself likes Yamato - more than just a friend, and struggled to find the perfect way to finally confess that he feels the same way for Yamato.

Short. Sweet. Too short. Too sweet. I WANT MORE.

Both main leads fit and played the role perffectly! I was even a little surprised that Maeda Kentaro took on this role, as he has already starred in a few drama and doesnt actually need the BL hype. Kashiwagi Haru is so adorable as Kakeru. There is something about Japanese drama's 'awkward' acting that makes the scenes authentic. This is how we are in real life, and the way they talked to each other makes you really feel like you are watching the blossoming of love, the coming of age, raw and somewhat uninscripted.

There are times though that I wanted to know how their peers will react if they knew that the two best friends are now dating - there were in fact a lot of scenes that i thought the secret was revelead to the world but then it was glazed over. I do understand though that this BL is not about the acceptance of the world around them, its about the personal struggle of two boys realizing their feelings for each other.

What I also love is that Japanese BLs even if they are short, somewhat feel like you are watching a standard full-length full-production drama. The music and song is amazing and i easily found myself repeating each episode twice. Overall its a 9,5 and I hope a lot more BL fans discover this wonderful of a gem.

A lot of drama, for me one that would be unnecessary

I thought the story and the actors were almost all great. For me, the story between Park Jung Joon and Lee Young-Ok was such a damper that I skipped their scenes and almost wanted to drop the whole series. It was just too bad and the storyline with her sister was already obvious beforehand. I despise this attitude towards people with Down's syndrome. I found all the other stories very sensitively interpreted. Lee Dong Seok's turmoil with his mother and the teenagers' desperation to become parents were the most remarkable stories for me.

absolutely breathtaking

oh. my. god.
i don't think i can even put into words how much i adored this.
despite its flaws, this show is going down as one of the best i've ever gotten to see, just because of everything that it made me feel. i can't get over how wonderfully, beautifully human it is. this community felt real. the characters were everyday people who make mistakes and love each other and struggle with grief and cherish life together. the attention to detail, the finding of joy in the little things, the kindness and support between characters despite facing difficulties - it made my heart feel as if it were GLOWING nearly every minute. this is what it's all about. this is all it will ever be about. I AM CRYING OVER A BOWL OF CHICKEN RICE. AND I NEVER CRY ABOUT ANYTHING
what's the plot? well - it's hard to say. it's a slice of life, and what a well-rounded, balanced, and delightful slice it was. i will agree with other reviewers that the main couple didn't catch my attention as much as everyone else did, and i think they could have shown more growth. i didn't really feel like i fully learned why they liked each other. but i still ended up caring about them than i expected, and the show is not really about them, anyway. there are intricate relationships between all the characters and i think many complex topics were handled well here. at the core, it's about understanding each other. my main complaint would be that there were a few occasions where it felt like the same conversations were being rehashed and characters weren't moving forward as i would expect, but that was far from fully ruining anything. except jim never saying "i love you" back to li ming. a daylight robbery. (and earth is a bit young for his role - but he still did a great job.)
the characters were of course at the heart of it all, and what amazing characters they were. i don't think a single one felt flat (except maybe beam...) and that in itself is a triumph. i enjoyed them all in different ways, but li ming and gaipa stole it for me. fourth and khaotung were absolutely phenomenal and didn't miss a single beat. li ming was the perfect moody teenager with a soft side and gaipa was such a truly sweet soul who has endured so much and i need all the good things in the world for both of them. where's my alangaipa spinoff?
lastly, this show, despite taking place in a chinatown, is so incredibly grounded in being thai. what a gorgeous showcase of the environment, food, culture, community life - i was genuinely entranced. i wish more dramas would do this. everywhere i looked there was something to appreciate. not to mention, whoever did the cinematography for this show did a fantastic job of highlighting the beauty of the environment and the actors. the composition, coloring, and framing were all on point.
skillfully directed, well acted, artistically shot, a story both poignant and charming, this drama really has it all. whew!

An honest look

This drama shows relationships in a realistic light. The confusion, the happiness, the panic and the fear mixed with the sadness
highlights the bond that the two protagonists share. They are both musically gifted as well so the music enhances the bond.
There is familial history which is never made clear, but the psychological scars are explained but not thoroughly. It leaves viewers with questions. Altogether a pleasant drama with to watch with great music to listen to… I watched it twice mainly because of the pleasing story ,music, and character development.

Puppy Love with Good Looking Leads

I decided to give it a try despite being skeptical. The first episode was ok, I wasn't sure if I should continue but by the third episode I thought it was good enough to keep watching. It is a light romantic comedy so far, the leads are cute and SOOOO good looking. I saw the ML in Rookie Historian and wasn't thrilled with his character or the acting. His character in this KDrama really grows on you, he's not weak or too nice. He's a reserved guy who is cautious with people and more so with dogs which is a disadvantage for our adorable FL. I thought the development of the relationship between the FL and ML felt like a slow burn even though he is clearly smitten by her after four episodes. There's also a hint of their previous fate and destiny in their previous lives which might give more context to why they are drawn to each other in their present lives. Maybe its me but there were moments between them that gives you butterflies such as the umbrella and elevator scenes. I'm rooting for their relationship and can't wait for the FL to realize her feelings for the ML. I wish they didn't delay the episodes as it is has been a bit of a wait between them.

Blank Stare

I don't really know how to review this without giving away everything. There isn't much of a story, once the basic plot is revealed (in the first and second episodes) it's pretty obvious what will happen. So without spoilers, the acting was not good.
Or the director made horrible choices and the actors did what he told them. No way to know for sure. Rak, one of the MLs was so blank that he looked stupid. Honestly, minus one or two scenes where he cried and once when he laughed, he just stared blankly at everyone around him all the time. No matter the situation, he just stared. He didn't speak, there wasn't any reason for the blank stares with no dialogue, it was just ... bad. I think the intention was meant to be that he looked innocent and didn't have any kind of bad intention but it just came off as him being too stupid to understand or not having any kind of personality.

There wasn't much chemistry between the two MLs. Mostly because Rak always looked like he had no idea what was happening. There was one exception to his weird face blankness, just before the first NC scene (I wouldn't call it NC really, but I guess the first sexy scene) between the two, Rak actually does not have a blank face. For this one, he looks like he totally knows what is going to happen and is anticipating. This leads me to believe that the director was the problem, not the actor, but I can't be sure. Another weirdness was that Dino, the other ML, seemed to need constant reassurance during the sexy moments. He kept asking how he was doing. I don't know about everyone else, but in my experience, if you're asking while you're doing, you're expending too much energy on the wrong things. Focus is important. I found that strange, but not bad. As far as Rak's reaction, "Dino is the best" with an almost comically wide eyed stare, was the best he could do, but the scene wasn't sexy, it was distracting and cringy. Later Dino was kissing him with so much tongue, it just made me want to wash my face.

Seekram (Rak's ex best friend) was creepy to say the least, but I'm not sure if that was bad acting or just poor directorial choices. Mek (the ex-boyfriend) was just a loser, but not necessarily a bad actor. In fact, Seekram and Mek weren't awesome, but they weren't terrible at their parts. None of the support roles were as weird as the main roles. The guest roles were plentiful. Seriously, they found people from a lot of BLs to come and be on screen for a few minutes without having much to say or anything to the story. Just cameos, I guess. Not really sure why they opted for that. To draw attention to the show? Who knows. Anyway, the story wasn't all that great and sometimes the acting was just cringe, so the show didn't really hit well for me. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good.

The story is so predictable as to be boring and the jokes were too obvious to be funny. The OST was decent, but I never put too much weight into the music. Because of the predictability and lack of plot outside of the romance, this show has low rewatch value. If you like just a fluffy love story with not a lot of acting ability, this one is for you. I heard some of the support roles will have shows of their own, and I'm interested to see if they are any better than this one.
