no this drama isn’t good.

I’m going to keep this short because this drama isn’t really worth explaining and explaining. This drama is just bad, the writing is so off and characters say and do things that don’t match up with who they are?

I swear everyone is just a bad person and there is no sympathy. I was interested in the parts with Da Mi, but now I guess she is just dead.. so what am I watching for… the revenge? I don’t get the whole plot with K, who and why does he show up? Why is is the blonde guy now? This drama just had plot twists just to have them and they make no sense. The first few times I was ok with it because it was interesting, but now I get that this drama is not only stupid, like it’s lazy.

To keep me engaged they want me to believe these twists and turns… I had to sit back and just call this drama dumb so I could keep watching. I wanted to have fun watching something so stupid, but at this point I don’t have anyone to root for and I feel a bit insulted being toyed like this. I’m serious when I say this drama isn’t one of those that I’m hating because I’m stupid, I simply hate the drama because it is the stupid thing. There is so much character shifts and doing things just for the sake of drama and I can’t do it anymore. This show isn’t too gritty or out there honestly, it’s just stupid.

Why are they all in it to begin with if it’s just a cover up for Mo Ne’s child? Why would K go that far? Kill someone? They want me to believe all these characters are entangle with eachother but at the base of it it is just for Mo Ne and the child thing? It isn’t that hard to get some truth out but oh a cop is involved so that’s why.. god it’s so dumb. It’s not worth starting even, no. I did it for kicks and giggles, now im dropping to start another drama. This drama was filling the empty space until another dramatic and gritty show came out, so I’m watching Vigilante instead of this hot garbage.

Hooked right from the first episode !

For a long time time, I was looking for a historical c drama which make me fall in love with it in a instant.
And for sure, I fell in love with this series from the very first episode.

Each and everything about this show is on point.
It got me hooked from the start and after a long time I am feeling such a way with a Chinese series.

The server and his lover

We have a weird but unique storyline out here. The main couple living in one roof wherein one serves while the other one pays the bill, is quite intriguing. Subjectively speaking, not a big fan of this genre and feel way too questionable but the drama itself is good enough to emphasize the romance and intimacy that the characters have with each other.

The main cast is just okay, nothing extraordinary, or either one of them stood the best. But I found it cute how nerdy yet hotty the side character is, the husband of the girl manga author.

I don’t have much to say in this drama; all I can say is that it is average for me. Not too bad and not too impactful for a show in general. I just wished that somehow, they tried to build a different character development to the weatherman, in a genuine and soft kind of attitude towards the manga artist.

LIKABLE CHARACTERS AT VERY FIRST EPISODE!

First of all can we give Taro Lin a pat in the back for giving us great acting skills and given that it's his first series (that I know of). Also the hot and gorgeous Kai, I mean hello mister hot eyes and smile!!!???
Taiwan BL has done it again!! Giving us a light and fluffy story of Fan Ze Rui and Bai Zong Yi with a side cherry and I will say it again, the secondary couple deserves a separate series too. Nat and Louis did a great job and it looks like they are not just a secondary couple, at some point in the series I crave for their story and for that we need a separate series for this two great actor.
I wouldn't say this series is perfect but I will say that it's likable and it's worth re-watching it over and over again.
I love how Bai Zong Yi developed his love for Fan Ze Rui and vice versa. They protect each other, showed their vulnerability which is in my opinion a great point. Each have a dark past and eventually became a rock for each other to lean on.
In the episode where Bai Zong Yi is being treated by Fan Ze Rui and well.........leads to the most awaited scene that BL addicts is waiting for...I wouldn't say sex scene, I would say LOVE scene! LOL!! From the very beginning of the series till the love scene, I see Fan Ze Rui as the dominant one given the fact that he is a "gangster". Then the bed scene came and when he said to Bai Zong Yi: do you know what you are doing? and then shoot!!! I SCREAMED LIKE I NEVER SCREAMED BEFORE...LOL!! I said WHAT!!!????? Really?? But I think it's hot! LOL! I mean look at their height differences it's so cute! (AND SAME GOES FOR CHEN YI AND AI DI!!!) I said to myself, don't judge the looks and Bai Zong Yi and Ai Di is a great example for that. All i thought this are the WIVES of the series LOl!

I have to give to BL Taiwan a hard YES YES YES and more YES! For the past series that I've seen so far, KISEKI is in my TOP 5. And I think there's still more Taiwanese BL series to come, VBL, a BL series production company that made "STAY BY MY SIDE" and "YOU ARE MINE"(one of my favorite) have list of BL line ups and it will premiere this November till next year 2024.

Being said that........I highly recommend this BL and allt he upcoming Taiwanese BLs to come!

What i think about this?

The Acting was pretty good but although i think maybe with stabbing scenes the acting was a bit low. It might be because they didn't wanna involve much on the violence. However i have only watched 1 episode and I'm glad to say i will definitely watch it when all the episode are out. I really love the acting of the male lead but i would of liked a little bit more psycho acting. But overall i do think these acting have definitely mastered the show its very interesting. I really love plot on the first episode but however i think is it bit rushed. But i do suggest to wath it. The music was okay but i didn't take much notice the music.

gripping story/plotline

It's the kind of cliff-hanger ending that keeps you wanting for more asap.

From ep 1-24 it was a breezy watch for me. They maximized their 24 episodes so well that there's no room for filler scenes. There are no spoilers in this review, I'll just write why I love this drama.

1. The cast: I have to admit I've never watched anything from the cast aside from YSX and ZLH so I was pleasantly surprised with everyone's performance. Tian Jia Rui was a scene stealer for me as well as Zuo Ye. I was surprised they're newbies. There's just something about their interpretations of their characters that draws you in. Jin Jolin is ofc a fan favorite lol

2. The plot: It's a work of art. I love the world-building and honestly would want to know more about Wufeng and of their past (and ofc their future but I'm not too hopeful T-T). The execution is also really good, it keeps you hanging after each episode.

3. The production: Top notch. I love the general dark palette. It suits the overall vibe of the drama. SFX, VFX and sound effects are just the right amount to support each scene. Love it.

4. The characters: Very intriguing. I'm particularly curious about the Hanyas and the leaders. Also each character have their own stand out personality that each actor/actress portrayed well.

I'd also like to say something about the fan "feud" between YSX and LYX and their CPs. For me, LYX indeed was a standout. Every time she schemes, her eyes draw you in. I'm such a sucker for actors who have amazing control of their micro expressions and i think LYX excels in that (as well as TJR and ZLH tho i think he needs more training too). But YSX did an excellent job as an assasin too especially since this is far different than her usual roles. Her action scenes are good, tho imo her micro expressions need more work. They both have their strong points. As for the CPs, they're also both remarkable, they have their own audience. For someone who hates toxicity, I definitely preferred the main cp and for people who love thrill and sexual tension trope then the 2nd cp is def for them. I preferred the main cp's honest relationship.

Overall, My Journey to You is an amazing drama that I would proudly recommend to those who ask. It's amazing!

Wonky execution with lots of strange scenes

The story is all over the place at times and I’m not sure what I’m really supposed to be focusing on. The undying love and bond between Yi and Diao? Their backstory? Or Yi’s quietly handsome assistant who seems to be their biggest shipper?

BUT there were also some wildly ridiculous (but honestly fking funny) moments – a terrible CGI of a tiger, some peculiar scenes fuelling the ZeeMax fantasies, and a parent (like an actual daddy) hitting on Kondiao??? Ahh I’m dying, stop it.

All in all, MaxNat is not my favourite BL pairing. And Naughty Babe has definitely not changed my mind. This spinoff had good potential but the execution was wonky.

Snacks and tissues are mandatory; it's showtime, baby!

"From Now On, Showtime!" is like that unexpected box of chocolates that turns out to be a flavor explosion in your mouth! At first, I thought, "Oh great, another cocky magician meets headstrong cop story." But boy, was I wrong. Park Hae Jin as Cha Cha Woong and Jin Ki Joo as Go Seul Hae took these seemingly over-the-top characters and turned them into the power couple we never knew we needed.

What really got me was the whole supernatural twist with Cha Cha Woong's ghostly helpers. Picture this: a bunch of friendly ghosts working for a magician who treats them like employees—genius, right? The supporting cast, including Go Gyu Pil, Jung Suk Yong, Park Seo Yeon, and the hilarious addition of Jung Joon Ho, made solving mysteries look like a comedy show. It's like Scooby-Doo but with a magician and ghosts, and I'm here for it!

Sure, some characters are a bit extra, like the over-the-top evil Detective Seo and the overly sweet Officer Lee. But hey, it's a comedy, so it just adds to the fun. And can we talk about Kim Jong Hoon as Seo Hee Soo? Dude brought some serious second lead vibes into the mix, making the love triangle as spicy as a K-drama can get.

I admit, I could have done with fewer past life scenes, and the officer vs. shaman romance didn't really tickle my fancy. But who cares when you've got a bunch of friendly ghosts causing mischief and Cha Cha Woong and Go Seul Hae being the cutest crime-solving duo ever?

This drama is like a rollercoaster of emotions—I laughed till I snorted, ugly cried my heart out, and got all warm and fuzzy inside. The cast looked like they had a blast making it, and that good mood vibe is contagious. If you want a feel-good, laugh-your-heart-out drama that's got a bit of everything, "From Now On, Showtime!" is your ticket. Snacks and tissues are mandatory; it's showtime, baby!

SO GOOD, it's underrated!

It has so much value packed in 1 hour, even more than some dramas that have 16 episodes!

I love the concept, it's not entirely new, but pretty interesting spin on it. It carries deep life lessons and valuable message that anyone can relate to. It's tastefully done, without making it too complex, simple yet deep.

I love the interior, vibes and mood of the cafe too, it made me wanna visit there, it's so homely!

I also enjoy all the little details like when they make coffee, the analogy the made using coffee, the conversations among them, all the little moment count.

No moment is there for the sake of, it carries a meaning

It's seriously one of the best drama I've watched in a long time!!

Sometimes, when I watch deep show like that, they can get too heavy or complicated that i lost track or focus, but this one isn't the case. It's still very enjoyable to watch, and many moments that make me smile.

Unfortunately, it was not up to expectations... boring

This South-Korean supernatural thriller is a surprising addition to the Tallinn Black Nights First Feature Competition. Directed by novelist and screenwriter Kim Jin-young as her feature debut, the film plays out like a formulaic thriller borrowing tropes from East Asian cinema as well as from Hollywood. Fast-paced to the point of being unable to deliver any character depth, it twists and turns with energy, but loses control under the weight of its own relentless movement. It presents us with the muddied narrative of a mother’s guilt over the loss of her paraplegic son, Han-byul. The father, a Reverend in an unspecified Christian church, blames the mother for having fallen asleep while her four children (including Han-byul) were playing near a lake after a picnic. When she awoke, Han-byul’s wheel-chair was empty and his body was floating in the water. Was she fully asleep? Could it be that she willfully turned a deaf ear to her own child’s cries before death? After the child is buried, the Reverend is convinced that the mother’s sins will be pardoned if they adopt an orphan, as a good deed to repent. They soon start taking the steps necessary to adopt the visually-impaired Isaac, but, once formalities are over, the young child finds it difficult to settle in the Reverend’s house, finding the behaviour of the three other children especially inauspicious.
The Other Child plays with an intriguing array of themes – the Christian faith in South-Korea, the guilt-complex of a mother after the loss of a paraplegic son, the ways in which religious texts can be interpreted by indoctrinated children. But the narrative never takes the leap necessary to explore any of these themes to any satisfactory level. It briskly glides over the surface of its best ideas, resulting in a film only interested in existing as a pure exercise in terror. It is regrettable, then, that the film should also fail from a purely stylistic standpoint. Indeed, its technical qualities are extremely shaky: the cinematography is glossed over with a lush filter which exaggerates all colours, removing all actions from reality. The visual effects sporadically appearing in the horror sequences are also of very poor quality. The story-telling is convoluted and unfocused, with characters appearing out of the blue to reveal vital plot elements, while our protagonists act in ways that seem to defy all existing motivations. The viewer struggles to navigate a world where all that is set up in the beginning turns into something else entirely.

The director Kim Jin-young should be praised for her work with the young child actors who all deliver very accomplished performances, especially given the faults of the screenplay. While the cinematography suffers in general from looking too inauthentic, the scenes at the lake are especially well-photographed, giving the film its only memorable images. These scenes also present us with a gorgeous selection of costumes worn by the three children, who look particularly eerie when singing near the blue backdrop of the lake. These shots will stay firmly fixed onto the viewers’ retina. It is unfortunate that the quality shown during these scenes is not sustained throughout the rest of the film, for, overall, The Other Child is a very disappointing genre film, which brings together themes, characters and events that seem to constantly elude its grasp.

WE DO WHAT WE WANT AROUND HERE

This show could be best summed up like this: if the plot needs it to happen, it happens. A detective who cannot grasp that a person can't be accused of murder without evidence. A prosecutor who acts like a thirteen year old girl because it a part of his disguise. I can only assume that he's trying to fool the audience. Hacking hackers who hack. How? Doesn't matter! They have computers and phones that can turn electricity on and off, isn't it cool?
All the characters seem to able to sniff out important events like bloodhounds - they are drawn to any place where the plot is happening, even if it doesn't make any sense for them to be there. Horrible dialogue that makes you laugh.
"Who are you?"
"Somebody who catches bad guys like you."
Don't waste your time. It's not worth it - maybe watch paint dry instead. It's bound to be less infuriating.

Subpar at Plot, Amazing Acting

I had high expectations of this drama because of the cast, but I’m afraid it was disappointing with respect to the writing. I thought that acting was amazing throughout, but I simply couldn’t get into the story. It wasn’t engaging enough and relied on making one side weaker without substantial reasons for the other side to win. If you’re looking for an intense crime thriller with an interesting plot, you’ll feel the latter doesn’t quite catch up. It’s intense nonetheless. It’s also quite brutal with all the action scenes, but most of them feel like it’s for the ‘vibes’.

Série "slice-of-life" and "old FL / Young ML" but with Xiao Zhan (^◡^)❤❤

The series follows the daily life (work, family, friends, events), in a subtle and quite realistic way, of our two heroes. One (FL) is an established advertising director who must deal with divorce and its consequences. The ML is a young designer, admirer of the FL, who is trying to make a career and have his talent recognized.
They form bonds, fall in love, and must face obstacles, linked in particular to their age gap of 10 years.

PROS:
+ Xiao Zhan ♡ლ(-༗‿༗-)ლ♡ of course, handsome, moving, so talented that he IS his character!!
+ I really like the character of the FL, mature, decisive, vulnerable but who faces all hardships the life give her. [[I divorced after a long marriage, and the story is very well written, enough for me to recognize myself in this character]].
+ The 2ary characters are well developed. Everyone has their own temperament, their history, their goals, their dreams.
+ The life of urban employees is well described, in subtle details: working conditions, pressure from customers, transport, shopping, meals, meetings, etc.
+ The narration is fast, modern and the OSTs are well suited to the emotions.

CONS:
- I regret that the SMS are not translated, because they have an importance in the story.
- the character of Sheng Fan's mother is excessive, poorly constructed psychologically: overprotective (OK, it's partly the result of the one-child policy), 50 years old but with the soul of a little girl, opposes the his son's relationship for ridiculous reasons, etc. No Western child would put up with being under the thumb of their parents at 26 like this...
- unlike other reviewers, I cannot perceive the charisma of Professor Fang's character, narrow, rigid, full of quirks and OCD.

=> It's a beautiful, comforting series, about perseverance, family, human's connections...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Série """slice-of-life" et "old FL / Young ML" mais avec Xiao Zhan ( ^◡^)❤❤
