What can be said about this drama other than a simple masterpiece?

If you are looking for a "swoon and boom" love story with over the top confessions with evil being conquered, then this is not the one for you. So instead of a rollercoaster, its more so catching the wrong bus, not knowing where you may end up but enjoying the new scenery and deciding to see where it leads instead of jumping off on the next stop.

I honestly can't say anything bad about it from the start to the finish, its like looking into a world of "real" people with insecurities, goals, and baggage that they are learning to deal with on their own but also supporting each other.

This isn't a story that just focuses on the main couple and the side couples are there for filler but more so a household of friends turned family who support and love each other, while yes couples are formed in that time that is definitely not the main focus.

I don't want to spoil anything since I found this story to be one that is unique and fulfilling to watch from start to finish, and I do mean finish since the last minute of this show truly gives you the best moment of "it all worked out and they are truly happy they followed their dreams"

The end is terrible...

Cannot separate the feelings i felt throughout this drama with those felt in the last few episodes.
The last 2 are horrible for me. The ending is badly edited and really bad.

STORY - interesting story, with ancient curses and myths that were more or less wrapped together. An old alien clan lives among humans. For a strange reason, some fell in love with humans and the plot emerged. A mixed child is born and there we go, a story like so many juvenile stories.
To save the loved one, they have to sacrifice one or reborn again to die… unrequited love or more than one choice…

ACTING - i like the acting of the main Leads and all the characters in the three love triangles. The villains are awful and not interesting.
Male lead was strong and righteous and FL was very strong and brave. Their chemistry was ok.

MUSIC - liked the ending melody. The rest I did not pay much attention to. Since I do not understand Chinese, I think I did not appreciate it as much as I should.

REWATCH - definitely no! The end will always haunt my neurons. Maybe one or two scenes…

OVERALL - i really cannot really say what to think. It started ok, was ok in the middle and was awful in the end…

Chinese equivalent of Game of Thrones

I must say that this is quite a good effort for such an epic show. Plot is based on a very famous ancient Chinese novel and this film tried their best to condense/summarize the story within the limited time they have. I did not read the novel and am only familiar with some of the characters (Nezha, Yang Jian) so some of the parts regarding the immortals and supernatural beings were a little confusing. The storyline involving the mortals was easier to follow and I'm guessing that the 2nd and 3rd movies would be focusing more on the immortals plotline. Acting and cast were excellent and they really embodied the role well. I'm glad that the director chose to feature newcomers and they really are a breath of fresh air compared to the usual Chinese idols that seem to be a permanent feature in wuxia/xianxia chinese dramas.

Only gripe is the CGI is still miles behind the standards of Marvel movies. But I must say that there has been vast improvement from previous movies. This movie is really worth watching if you're chinese and are familiar with The Investiture of the Gods. Western audiences may have a harder time following but that isn't to say that it isn't worth a watch. Possibly waiting till the rest of the movies are out may make for easier watching.

Great on the 1st half, meh on the 2nd half...

BIG MOUTH refers to Park Chang Ho, as he is known to talk big but can not follow it up. He’s also a lawyer with a very low winning rate. One day, he was framed as a notorious swindler "Big Mouse" and sent to prison. Since the real “Big Mouse” is still a mystery, his wife Mi Ho is now struggling to prove her husband's innocence…

First, the premise is gripping as we quickly presented with the big question "Who is Big Mouse?“ It kept me wondering on who is Big Mouth and his motives. I enjoy seeing Chang Ho’s gruesome experience in prison and his dynamic with his wife, Mi Ho. I love the suspense and how they address a realistic political issue.

Then the reveal happened and it was so underwhelming... It feels that the drama lost its’ steam. We were introduced to so many plot points but it continues solely on hero vs villain plot, while sacrificing some characters at no cost. There’s a time jump towards the ending, and all that happened afterwards made me upset. The sequence of events were rushed and the huge blow I was expecting feel a bit off. Had they build up the finale properly, I’m sure it would’ve been more impactful.

This is my first Lee Jong Suk dramas and his psycho acting was entertaining. Apart from him, the acting of Kim Joo Heon was enjoyable, especially his fake crying and facial expressions. Overall, Big Mouth shows amazing performance and story until the reveal happened, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt and feel free to watch it!

Rewatch Value!

Only one episode has aired and might be a little too soon to write a review, but damn here I go! I totally did not expect this to be this fun especially since it's agricultural themed. Regardless of how close they are, if the theme is boring it's not easy to save the show. As someone who runs away from agricultural content because of my dad who hogs the TV at home with stuff like this, I was quite hesitant about this show.

"Yes, I absolutely love the cast and yay they're finally working with THE Na PD, but farming...?" this was me when the show was announced. But I still decided to trust the cast and crew and give it a chance, and THANK GOD I did!!!

Lee Kwangsoo is a GOD when it comes to entertainment, this guy absolutely never misses and is one of the main contributors to the comedy in the show. It might not be a stretch to say he's carrying the show in the pilot episode. Kim Kibang's laughter is so contagious and this man laughs at everything that comes out of his dongsaengs' mouth. He might be the hyung, but he receives no excessive politeness just a lot of back and forth bickering obviously resulting from their over a decade friendship. Kim Woobin gives the best reactions to the situations and constantly questions the actions of his hyungs. He is the most unfitting cast member for this concept, yet he surprisingly works well as a farmer regardless of the whinings about how tired he is. Doh Kyungsoo might be the maknae, but he has no hesitation in giving the hyungs the side eye when they're doing questionable stuff. He is absolutely crafty and totally fearless, and might be one of the most sincere in his farmer role as it is an old dream he's finally getting to experience now. When together they're constantly up to something that the crew wouldn't have had a hard time getting enough footage. Their interactions with the neighbourhood people are also so fun, and because it is shot like a documentary than a variety show it feels more raw. Viewers get the feeling of hanging out with friends and the farming aspect adds more comedy as they're all clueless about the process (just like us, so we end up learning together).

I absolutely hate rewatching things but surprisingly I've rewatched this episode thrice!!! I myself am taken aback by how fun I'm finding this show. I would totally recommend and am excited for the upcoming episodes!!!

Make sure to shut your brain off before watching!

To watch this movie you must turn off your brain! The lack of logic in the plot made it hard to immerse myself in the film. Combine that with the lack of character depth given to the MC and you have a dropped film.

I was looking forward to this movie when I first saw the trailer but then forgot about it since I haven't been watching Netflix much recently. I go on Netflix looking for something fun to watch, remember this film, and saw it had finally been released so I started watching. I love revenge plots, regardless of the sex of the MC that is getting revenge. This film fell short in so many ways and I only got through less than 40 minutes of it. My gripes in no particular order:

Camera Work: They tried wayyyy too hard to be artsy + unique. The shots and angles did nothing to enhance the story.

Acting: Was not bad, I only got through 38 minutes so I can't give a well-founded opinion on their acting. I think the actors did the best they could with lackluster writing.

Music/OST: It was so terrible. Did not match anything that was going on.

Writing: You really need to turn off your brain to enjoy this. The story and character motivations made no sense. Based on the bit that I watched I do not believe the friendship between the two girls was deep enough for the MC to do all she did. After not talking to your friend in a while, they call you up and ask you to come over. You get there and find a note, allegedly from them, asking you to get revenge for them. Then you see they unalived themselves in the bathroom. Maybe if they had made them romantically involved, or even made it clear that the MC held an unrequited affection for her friend it would have made more sense for the MC to carry out the ballerina's last wishes. But that wouldn't explain the ballerina's illogical actions or the fact that the MC went through all these things for some estranged friend. Maybe if they did more to showcase the dependency the MC had on the ballerina it would have been better because MC being emotionally dependent on her would explain her dedication but then again it doesn't look like they have been friends for that long.

If they had made the MC obsessed with the Ballerina that would have brought a lot of depth to the story and made it much more interesting. MC would have been obsessed/in love with the Ballerina but satisfied/content with the scraps of attention/affection the Ballerina gave her regardless of how infrequent they may have been but then finds that the Ballerina unalived herself because of that guy. That would have made a very compelling story and although disturbing, anything the MC did after that would not need any explanation because of the obsession. As it stands I just can't believe she would do all that. Like she could end up in prison for killing all these people, even if they are criminals, so why does she not weigh the consequences? She's smart enough to be a bodyguard for foreign officials but acts so impulsively, too unrealistic.

Also, why did that guy feel the need to drug women when they had already agreed to sleep with him since they went to the hotel consensually? Maybe I missed it since I didn't finish the film and they kidnapped women from the club as well as there being girls that happily went. Like even though it may be rare, there are women into CNC who would happily play along with that guy's fantasies. Especially since he is attractive. Again I could have missed later explanations but if he does that to satisfy his desires it doesn't make sense to do it illegally when you could have willing participants. I get that he's a drug dealer and he does other illegal things with people but to be this crazy serial rapist who can get women to go to a hotel with him willingly only to drug them when they are already there just makes no sense. Maybe he's had bad experiences after he convinces a woman to go with him then she runs away after finding out he's into BDSM so he started drugging them... I don't know.

Maybe I am so disappointed because I went in with high expectations? I usually have a good time watching Korean movies and they are really good at revenge storylines so I definitely had my hopes up. Anyways, now I have to find something else to watch...

No way this got me crying almost like 2521

I'm writing this one while crying so hard. As a person who is afraid of changes in her life this really got me. I've seen videos of this movie mixed with 2521 when we got that terrible ending too (not overcome it yet) and when I started watching this one because I wanted to watch every movie or drama where Park Bo Young appear, everything looked so familiar and then, the ending. wtf? I mean is so realistic, its something that everyone could face one day, but it still hurt me so much.

So im rating this one with a 7.5 cause I wont be able to watch it again without feeling the bittersweat feeling im having rn and bc the story got me ruined even if its realistic.

Our Blues explores the story of Jeju islanders navigating the ups and downs of their communities as well as their individual live struggles. Struggles like mental health, childhood abuse, teenage pregnancy, disability and discrimination... This series took all of these and delivered them in a genuinely raw manner that tugs at the heart and showed the nuances of human nature in a realistic way. It can be gut-wrenching, funny, uncomfortable, uplifting, and heartbreaking all at once.

Often an omnibus-style dramas like this can feel episodic and mundane to a point, but the way it portrayed community spirit was authentic and that makes it very much worth-watching. It’s not a plot-driven drama, it’s a drama that leaves you pondering about the relationships you hold in your own life. Personally, some stories weren't as engaging as some others because I couldn't relate with them, but each story delivered profound messages. It is one of those intricate emotional series with hidden depth characters that show friendship, romance, community and reconciliation.

This wasn't what i was expecting

First of all i like jo bo-ah so started this series. But it gave me whole disappointment. Yes the last was somehow fine but the start is irritating and nonsense. Man who wants a fake love? Love by some nonsense potion?
I just want to ask the fl character, r u crazy? U were so lonely that u turned into a obsessed physco? If the person you like doesn't love you and u use some potion then like does that even call love? Jow could she randomly just use some kind of potion to make someone fall for you? That's not real love that's call forced love . Many of You guys liked it because it was the fl who did this. Just think if it was the villainess who did that to ml would you like it? No.

And the ml character also wasn't that nice. He just randomly judging a person, bro you don't know her past nor her well how could you just randomly judge? I hate this type of ml character the most. Whatever, i thought it would be something like he cursed and she would be the key and in the process they will fall for each other for real. But nah, the ml was like forced to like the fl and then you know the typical.

I'm really disappointed

Against all odds, I was liking it, now idk how to feel.

I would dare to say everyone loved STRONG WOMAN DO BONG SOON (SWDBS) so from there I can say I was very curious about how the writer would deal with people expectations were having since they announced the drama. In my opinion the drama got a very similar scent that SWDBS, the characters are very funny and we also have a police investigation which talking by myself got me waiting for what is gonna happen next. Main couple is cute and I think they got chemistry so If you dont decide if watch it or not yet, maybe you must give it a chance rn.

The two adorable kids and this new family are worth your time.

Subjective Gut Rating: 8.25

I wasn’t expecting much when I started watching “Please Be My Family”, but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. This drama does not have any top idols or popular actors, so not many watched it. The drama centers around a marriage of convenience between two single parents and their children. Together, they formed a loving and happy family, and of course, the parents slowly fall in love with each other. But a family secret looms over our male lead throughout the drama. You will have to wait till the last few episodes of the drama for that secret to come out of the bag.

What I love most, and probably other watchers as well, are the two adorable kids. Chen Chen (ML’s son) and Xuan Xuan (FL’s daughter) are just too adorable. The acting is great and their spoken lines are even better. There is no way you don’t come to love them. They have the most scenes in the first half of the drama, and I miss their presence in the second half. Each kid is adorable in their own way and together, they are a dynamic duo. They are not overly mature like the adorable child in “The Love You Give Me” but act more like 5-year olds.

Their parents are pretty likable characters as well. Song Hao Yu (ML) might appear cold and calculating. But that’s because he was hurt in the past and of course, is waiting for the appearance of Qi Si Le (FL) to bring him out of his funk. I have to say, Qi Si Le is a great character. She’s not perfect, but it’s hard not to root for this single mother. She’s independent, mature, will defend herself and speak up and is not afraid to openly communicate when something is bothering her. She is a great role model for her daughter. Together, Hao Yu and Si Le, are great parents to the kids. They also have great chemistry together and actually try to talk it out when there is a misunderstanding. I was glad to finally see them have some cute and fluffy scenes as a couple (kisses are OK, not great).

The supporting cast is lovely as well. The secondary leads are also very likable and have good chemistry together. Their romance doesn’t take up too much screen time but enough to tell their own story. But there are two other funny and interesting characters - Grandpa Song and President Tong Luo Qi. Grandpa is the best wingman and Luo Qi is the best frenemy out there. They are quite the scene stealers. The unlikely trio of girlfriends - Si Le, Li Xin and Luo Qi - are really fun to watch.

The general plot of the drama is not too unique or unpredictable. You can guess the family secret early on, but do need to wait for all the details to be exposed in the last couple episodes. One can also guess Su Le’s reaction once she found out the secret. If I have to say something is unpredictable, it is the way Si Le reacted to Hao Yu’s past romance and ex-girlfriend. I was so thankful to see a female lead who is mature enough to not get sucked into the ex’s drama and the bullshit spewed out from her mouth. She’s able to trust her man, see through the schemes and respond like a normal person.

My biggest criticism would be the villain’s story. I knew the evil scheme had to do with the family secret. But all that happened in the last few episodes were too dramatic and not quite logical for my taste. Oh another minor criticism would be the professional success that Su Le has after being in advertising for so many years.

Overall, I had a great time binge watching this drama. The kids and the female lead are worth my time, and the romance is satisfying. The acting isn’t bad and nothing too cringey or irritating.

This was so cozy

I didn't expect to like it that lot!

The acting was great! Even with small gestures they transport so many emotions and messages, I am really impressed. They were able to express so much and for me it was totally understandable how they felt and what they thought, even without big words or gestures. I was able to understand each one and why they made the decisions they made. ^^'

Ritsu is just wholesome. He's so cute and looks absolutely like a mischievous fairy. Both lead actors were perfect for their roles! I also liked that there weren't many sidecharacters. The show focuses mainly on Ritsu and Fumiya. That's good! And also Fumiyas actor does a great job! He nailed to express the inner conflict, Fumiya felt, so perfectly.

I also really liked the OST! It was so fitting and the whole atmosphere were kinda cozy. Also there clothes were really nice, haha. I don't comment often on the outfits, but they looked really good and I love Ritsus hair! Because it's set in winter and it's always cold, the atmosphere is just magical and, like I said, cozy, when they wear their pretty oversized pullovers.

It's just so calm, but full of emotions! The locations were great and really helped to transport the whole feeling.

The chemistry got me every time. The tension between them really made my heart flutter.

I also liked the flashbacks' placement. It totally makes sense and gives a lot to the story to understand both sides better (and also understand that Ritsu wasn't the bad guy here! Just watch carefully and you get the little hints here and there).

The little details in this shows are really cute (pay attention to the picture in the ending sequence of every episode :) )

It's a show that shows (lmao) how important healthy communication is. How important it is, to take care of each other and appreciate each other.

Totally recommend this. Probably gonna rewatch it, or at least some scenes of it. They are way too cute with each other and it's just a wholesome show.

The story at the get go is interesting to me with a hint of comedy, it was fun up until the cheating part of the drama. I just didn't like how the author justified their love story with ruining the second female lead like that, because even if that's what happened I can't justify their romance. I was so bothered by it. The past era/scenes was fine with me but I guess I was not that convinced with it. The last part of the story felt rushed and no more excitement as it goes on. The actors were great for me as watcher, the side characters are fun and also given the spotlight. I was really into the spells theme in the first part but was really bored in the long run. I would recommend this one but I won't rewatch for sure.

Better read the reviews first and then decide for yourself

In my opinion this was a nice story that actually had a lot of potential but was kind of done wrong by the writer/director.

I really enjoyed the acting, the cast was nice, especially the leads Jo Bo AH, Rowoon and Ha Joon.
I must say their scenes together were so funny and I'm actually glad I got to "meet" FL and 2ML for the first time in this drama (I will make sure to check their other projects as well). As per Rowoon, I wasn't expecting him to pull off such funny scenes. He was something else. And let's not mention his visuals... <3 I heard he lost some pounds in purpose to fit the character's description and that's to be appreciated actually.

Jo Bo Ah on the other hand seems like a more experienced actress to me and I think she can be greater than this, given a proper script. She can do wonders with her eyes only and oh ma gawd Bo Ah in dark long hair is so so pretty and attractive.

Ha Joon...Ha Joon.. Ha Joon! I'm invested in this guy now. :p So handsome and I think his character turned out great because of him. So funny, yet so manly and responsible/helpful towards the leads although he wanted Hong Jo to like him instead. And that stirr he caused in the City Hall for exposing the Major... just what I expected from such a man :p

But back to the drama :p
I would've preferred they got into more depth with the characters' back stories. Given all the dramas I've watched, the ones with detailed back stories are the ones I like the most. There was this scene Hong Jo holds her father's death anniversary where Shin Yu accompanies her and they get to share some vulnerable moments that I really liked. She had no family, lived alone, ate alone, had no friends whatsoever. They could've at least had Shin Yu move in with her. But no... instead they made us wait 5 decades for a kiss or so. And those romantic moments weren't always a hit for me. Even Mr. Kong and Ms. Ma shared a kiss or got intimate with each other faster than the leads :p

I liked how all three leads got to somehow improve themselves. how their story together changed all three of them (do not ask me to consider Yoon Na Yeon a lead. Just don't!)

So yeah, all in all I say it needed a better script/directing with the repetitive lines, the depth of the characters, the development of the backstories, the conjunction of the horror/romantic elements. Can't say I plan on rewatching it. Not soon at least.
