Hilarious!

That was hilarious! It totally feels like a folk story, a legend of those whispered around the village fire when the children have gone to sleep. It could also be a daydream of a Korean living in a foreign country who has been taunted by locals for his... ehm... size.
The costumes, the behaviour, everything... don't expect historical accuracy. People, it's fantasy, let's not forget that. So don't wonder why skirts are short and why a Joseon-time girl dances classical ballet half-naked near a village pond, or why the village men perform an Esther Williams number in the said pond. Yes, it's over-the-top, but that was its whole point! And yet it still manages to celebrate empathy and solidarity and even romantic love.
Thoroughly recommended if you want to chase away any stress or sadness. But not to people who take satire seriously, who get offended easily and who are champions of political correctness.

Production Fault, Gu Hai and Yin Zi characters were performed well

This Drama Series Story had lots of potential to grow But the scriptwriter and director messed it up. There were lots of loopholes, and all the situations/scenes with supporting roles were left open. lots of the time you will be waiting for what will happen next but they totally cut down the scene from the last episode and just turn the story on the main character. character development was not enough. it felt like the main characters turned from classmates to good friends who live together. There was the potential of chemistry BUT dialogues between them were too general like close friends talking. Till the end, I was expecting to something happen but nothing happened, Simply put just too general.
This is not the fault of the actors but only the production's fault.

In Japanese setting dramas, they highlight the features of adults (teachers/parents' authority & strictness and feel proud in it but if you compare with Thai setting dramas they mainly focus on the main characters and the close relationship of the main characters, remaining actors, and situation become backdrops. which helps the audience to focus more on the story, production, and other things)

Comparison to the original is inevitable, but this show stands on its own and is incredibly charming

The original Someday or one day is incredible. From its portrayal of mental health struggles,to the romances and friendships, as well as the soundtrack, it absolutely enchanted me.

When a remake was announced, I was dubious of how they’d recreate it, how I’d want them to keep every scene as it is and have the same atmosphere, but then what would be the point? Why not just watch the original show?

I have never been against remakes. So many stories have been retold in different forms of media and it’s all about the approach taken and paying respect to the original. A remake is not a replacement but rather a companion piece and I truly think this did SOOD justice.

While watching this, I could tell there was respect and love for the original involved. Relationships between characters were given more depth. The diagolue was fresh, well thought out, and there were very few direct quotes from the original.

Kang Hoon, Jeon Yeonbeen and Ahn Hyo Seop were amazing as the main characters and made me fall in love with them all over again. The soundtrack was beautiful and fitting for the setting and I’ll definitely have gather your tears stuck in my head for a long time.

I HIGHLY recommend this and would urge fans of the original to either go back and watch the original version, instead of hating on this without giving it a chance, or have an open mind and get to experience the story they love in a different take.

Shouldn't skip the scenes

if you're watching this before watching Taiwanese version then you shouldn't skip any scenes.
i gave rating for acting 6 because GOD ! i loved everyone's acting except the female lead . I mean she showed the emotional scenes soo great but during cute and romantic scenes her acting is soo awkward especially in 1,2 episodes thinking of yeonjun.

This drama overall is soo good the plot and story line are perfect and I'm happy that they gave happy ending in korea version.

But if you already watched the Taiwanese version then I recommend you not to try this one . Even the ost and cast are better than Taiwanese version still we won't love this version as much as someday or oneday.

The most important character here is minju. Yes I know everyone felt bad for her for her character. About the decisions she made but don't you think she should the real emotions of a average teenager.( Lol but still I wanna slap her 🤣)

I guess For the final part the couple we got are
1)si heon and jun hee( it's a wired age gap though , but still we all want this)
2)in kyu and min ju
3)yeonjun and tae ha

Writer is misogynistic

I tried to hold myself from calling this writer as such, especially when he wrote one of the best sageuk "The Princess Man" and I am aware he might not has fully control over his writing. But I still need to say what I want.

This drama used most of female characters as his tools, and he wrote them as the most annoying and bad characters in the whole series. But he wrote the male lead as the most greenest character, other male characters while not perfect but not written in the worst ways.

Let's not forget how he made Inok as the "villain" in several ep 🤦 and suddenly resolved it in just simplest way lmao.

The lead actress hard carried this drama but the ones benefiting the most are both male leads - one is loved for playing the greenest character (viewers are easy to be pleased lol) and other one is hated for this role but he also became more popular. Both of them are truly "The Real Has Come".

:)

i don’t even know where to start with this series.
before i’ve watched this, my all time favorite korean bl was to my star 1&2. but once the trailer dropped for this series, something clicked in my brain. i knew this series was going to be the best kbl i’ve ever seen. and i was right.
theres many good things i can say about this show. for one, the directing was amazing. and the cinematography was amazing as well. just based on the teaser, the eighth sense was giving me some sort of “indie-college-film-project” vibe, and i was 100% there for it.
i absolutely loved the plot. it was executed perfectly too. nothing was going too fast or two slow— the pacing was perfect. to me, this series had more of a slowburn feel, which i loved. it was filled with much angst, and i love angsty shows, so that’s another reason why i loved this so much.
the acting was incredible. jisub and juntaek had immaculate chemistry.
i really really loved jaewon. i tend to drift more towards characters that have a troubling past/present. mental health being portrayed in media, especially korean, is really important to many people who struggle as well. and i think this show executed it very well. it didn’t villanize him, but it also didn’t make it to be jaewon’s entire personality. it was vague, but enough to understand what he was going through. plus, on the extra scenes on youtube, you can see his mental illness more in depth.
this was such a beautiful series. with the pining, the angst, the cinematography, the music, everything was perfect. but to me, this series was painful to watch. but i love painful and angsty series.
i rated the rewatch value lower than 10, just because i know it would kill me if i did. rewatch it. i totally would though, if i wanted to be in pain again.
there’s so many more things i could say about this series, but my mind is drawing blank and it’s been a while since i’ve watched it, since i was watching it while it was airing.
i have no complaints at all. so amazing and beautiful.

Interesting premise destroyed by bad writing

Please ignore the MDL rating (8.6 at the time of writing in 2023)!

The very basic premise (time-traveling detective and serial killer) of this story is interesting. But the writers did a great job of destroying the potential. In two ways:
- All the characters are unbelievably stupid, except the murderers.
- The time traveling aspect is not used at all, it is rather a weird fact on the side.

To come back to the stupid characters: do you know those dramas where there is one lead character who always knows everything in advance and before everybody else, just by being super smart and of course they are also the best in every practical aspect? They can get annoying. Well, in this drama you get none of that :) Everybody is just so unbelievably stupid and incompetent it hurts. When a good detective's skills are 100, the average person's detective skills are maybe 10. All the detectives in this drama are a 1. And that's generous! No common sense at all. And they repeat their mistakes over and over again, and drag this very simple story out into 16 episodes. Some examples:
- When you want to catch a suspect, sneak up to them until you are 10 meters away, then shout at them, so they can run away from you without you being able to catch them.
- When you found out in which house a suspect is hiding, go to the house with 4 cars, all with full sirens! Then storm the house from the front without covering the back door.
- When you are a ML in a team of two and a great revelation comes to your mind, don't tell anyone and storm off angrily to get yourself in trouble.
- When you are a weak vulnerable FL, speak to a serial killer in code via TV and lure him into a dark forest where you wait for him all alone to be his next victim. Don't tell anyone of your police friends about it.

Then the time travel: time travel stories never fully make sense and that's fine. But here's a question for you: when you are a time traveling detective, would you try to catch a serial killer when he is young (in the past) or when he is old (in the future)? And as I said, the time traveling aspect is just there, it is not really relevant for the story, it just makes for some confusion and funny scenes. For a better use of time travel in a detective story, check out the K-drama Signal from 2016!

Ignore the bromance tag on this! It lasts two seconds, is super weak and can't save this train wreck.

I guess I should also say some positive things. The acting is generally quite good, except maybe the time traveling lead who has a limited set of faces. And the character development of the FL was a bit too much: for most of the drama she has the facial expression and emotional warmth of a stone and then suddenly in the end she meets a certain person and becomes normal quite instantly.

Ignore the rating and positive reviews and skip this one!

Honey dripping from the eyes (Sooo in love) ?

I haven't watched much Kdrama in the past 4 years, because of the heavy drama and angst. But this one was something different, it wasn't heavy, didn't have that rich man/poor woman cliche angsty story, instead the romance was just so sweet and beaitiful to watch. The friendship was beautiful as well.

Yoona and Junho has amazing chemistry in this, they looked so great together in this. They acted really well, you could see honey dripping from their eyes. You can tell so much how much they loved each other, the character development for the ML was great, both personal and professionally.

The OSTs in this was great, there were a few that played during sweet moments and they were sooo sweet, the melody was beautiful and matched very well with the romance.

I absolutely loved the friendship they all devloped and that there wasnt any unnecessary backstabbing etc.

If you want something sweet, simple and romantic then its an easy watch, i left feeling so content and happy. I blushed, laughed and smiles every episode. ❤️ 😍

i am absolutely obsessed with this show. i’ve been anticipating it for a while because i’m a fan of j-min. and let me say, i was not disappointed in the slightest.
at the start of the show, i was very confused on what was going on because the plot that was being shown to me was different than synopsis’ that i’ve read online, so i just couldn’t fully grasp the true concept until a bit later. other than that, i have literally no complaints.
the pacing was so good. nothing was rushed, and i loved how each couple was given mostly equal amounts of screen time. it allowed each of their stories to go into depth without any rush or holes.
all of the actors have great chemistry with each other, which is surprising since this series is a lot of their first roles. i wasn’t expecting j-min to be a bad actor, but he definitely flew way out of my expectations.
all of these characters felt really real. that’s how good everyone’s chemistry is. like if you told me these characters were real and they were dating in real life, i would believe you. that’s how good their acting and chemistry is.
i loved this plot a lot. i loved how it wasn’t overly cheesy, had a dark side to it, and some angst too. and the differences between each couples was refreshing too— nothing was repetitive so it held my attention well and i was able to really indulge into this series more. in the short amount of time, this series has become one of my favorite kbl series. i’m so proud of j-min, and i’m happy that i’ve been able to find other amazing actors to support. i’ll definitely be rewatching this.

The match made in Heaven !

This drama wasn't about close family relationships, it was the other way around.
The chemistry of the main leads was out of this world, they’re really made for each other ❤️‍🔥
I especially love the way they looked at each other passionately 😍😍😍.

The last episodes were a little weaker than the first ones, but overall I was, still enjoying it . I usually don't watch these types of dramas because they all end in disaster, but I had a feeling this one would be different and I wasn't wrong!
For a mini drama it is very well done.
and was a good watch for me ❣️

For me it was 8,5/ 10❤️‍🔥 but I’m going to give it 10/10 because it doesn’t deserve this low rating and such a perfect chémistry is rare.

THIS SHOW HEALED MY HURTING SOUL!

If u like melodrama/ realife stories type of kdrama this is the perfect drama for u!! This show discusses different social issue from growing up to depression and other mental issues. This show has shown emotions on a deeper level that I have ever seen. What made this show stick with me is that they’ve done some techniques to heal and I have been using it and it has improved my mental health alot. I am so freaking grateful to writers who has written such beautiful and inspiring art. The only reason I wont be rewatching the show is that its a bit too sad to rewatch it again and feel these kind of emotions again.

Set your expectation on Low

This series was cute, but somewhat lackluster. Although the office romance storyline is nothing new, this had a lot of potential with the added idol element. It's just unfortunate that it was lost in a poorly developed script. They should have focused more on this instead of adding layers of pointless story elements. This included an exhausting misunderstanding story element that went on too long for no reason. Another problem was poor character introduction and development. The actors were good considering what was given to them.

Random Notes:

It seems 2023 is not the year for good BL office romances.

The Mr. Heart lead actors’ cameo was cute and made sense. However, the cameo with Tutor and Yim was random and added nothing to the series.

This is one of those series you can wait to watch until you have some time to kill and have nothing better on your must watch list.

It not as good as it looked

The story basically starts of as a self healing/ soul warming journey from our main female protagonist as she is going to discover herself and take a break or move on from her previous depressing life. By ep 6 till ep 12 the show started to become boring and long for no reason whatsoever they add unnecessary scenes and stories, especially the thriller plot of the story was completely ridiculous and not realistic. Alot of questionable actions from the characters. My favourite part of the show was probably Siwan’s acting and the dog.

Loyalty or love - a complex love triangle

HUGE SPOILERS!!!!!

I didn’t expect to love this movie so much, but I did. This tells the complicated love triangle between the 3 main leads - Hong Rim (Chief of King’s guard), Gong Min (king) and No Guk (queen). Set during Goryeo dynasty, Hong Rim and Gong Min are lovers, Gong Min trusts Hong Rim the most, and Hong Rim is very loyal towards Gong Min, would do anything for him. But Gong Min, who has no interest in No Guk, is pressured to make her pregnant, so that she will give birth to future heir. But he refuses to sleep with her and orders his lover to sleep with her instead, to make her pregnant. Hong Rim doesn’t want to, but he has no other choice but to obey… neither him or No Guk are happy about it, and it starts out as awkward and confusion when they sleep with each other first time, but eventually comes to enjoy it and their intercouse becomes full of lust and passion. And Hong Rim gets confused by his own growing feelings for the queen while also wanting to stay loyal to the king. It becomes dangerous as Hong Rim and No Guk starts playing with the fire, that could destroy everything…

The acting is amazing by all 3 leads - So In Sung, Jo Jin Mo and Song Ji Hyo! They gave it all and the acting comes off as very natural. The setting, clothes is very beautiful and overall Goryeo is a very interesting dynasty. A high quality movie even tho it’s from 2008…but this movie can be very disturbing , it had Gore and many erotic scenes - so, very sensitive viewers should not watch this. The sex scenes are very intense and realistisic, I started to think that the actors actually Did ’it’ for real. Such a progressive, extremly daring movie as not only violent and erotic - but also because it has homosexuality , in a movie set during Goryeo dynasty!! I don’t want to spoil too much but I have No idea Why so many feels sorry for Gong Min?? Like, seriously!

I was surprisingly moved by the forbidden love story between Hong Rim and No Guk, I truly believe they fell deeply in love with each other, they risked so much just to be together, Chemistry between Jo In Sung and Song Ji Hyo was on fire , it could melt my screen! And I was rooting for the impossible romence. I don’t think Hong Rim was ever in love with Gong Min… he loved him yes, but not romantically.

I love that We have k-dramas that usually are pretty tame/innocent but that k-movies can be anything but tame/innocent lol! If i want to watch something innocent I watch k-dramas , but if i’m in mood for something very spicy, I’ll go for k-movies!

Anyways, this movie is very intense, sometimes I had to hold my breath! It was interesting that when Hong Rim fell for No Guk, his lust/passion/love for her took his mind and thus his huge loyalty for Gong Min started to decline… which of course makes Gong Min in full rage mood!

This movie is almost perfection, nothing really I want to change. I’m proud of the 3 actors who took such daring roles! Kudos to them! I recommend this movie for adults who are not too sensitive, it’s truly a great movie. But don’t watch with your parents!! I truly fell for Hong Rim , who’s Been groomed by Gong Min since childhood , how he Been taught all his life to always obey and be loyal to Gong Min, taught to sacrifice his life for him - taught to always put him first and for Gong Min to be Hong Rim’s whole world. The only one he should ever care about..so when he falls in love with No Guk, it shakens up his life, and him who never before been with a Woman…

Truly a great movie, but no way i feel sorry for the king! It’s all his fault in the first place as he was the one who ordered them to sleep with each other , he should have known that there is possibility for them to develop feelings for each other. This movie … for sure it won’t be the last time I watched it ! :)

Delightful Bromance

I really lucked out on stumbling into this series. I had no expectations other than this being a bromance. This story is such a good binge of chemistry and visuals.

The story was cute and I like that they didn’t delve into their backstory of why they had a falling out 10 years ago to fill in with unnecessary scenes. I mean I much rather have the John Woo style Gun fight at episode 4 than that.

I really enjoyed the story of taking down the Japanese during their occupation in China. Yup, I think the Japanese are horrible since they were lethal during their occupation of China and South Korea. I’m glad for the ending because payback was so satisfying.

I really hope there will be a season 2 of this series. It was left open ended for a possible season 2 and even season 3 where our heroes Guan Yu and Weijie take down more Japanese baddies with the help of Li Tao.
