Mission Accomplished

More than thorough enjoyment, I appreciated the unique world and full-rounded story they brought to fruition here. The game aspect made for highly creative and fun as well as stressful "mechanics," the use of harsh sound effects and "errors" in particular lended well to this.

Love for Love's Sake managed to toe the line between light action/almost horror and comedic school romance in a way I don't think I've seen before. And the banter between the two MLs allowed some levity in times when the world went dark.

Particularly, I want to highlight how they fully utilized the potential of Cha Yeo Woon's character, managing to hint at his desire as well as fear to be vulnerable and his shyness in expressing his interest in someone (Tae Myung Ha), all within a few episodes. And his actor plays his sulking moments and hesitancy very well.

Also, I would be remiss not to mention Tae Myung Ha's character; the quiet depth he had in a story that wasn't supposed to be his. And the complex expressions he had astounded me. Especially in moments he had to put on a happy face as well as convey that he was barely keeping it together.

I am so glad I didn't miss this surprising masterpiece.

Best Korean BL

I honestly like the cast of this drama especially the main cast, with a good story and chemistry from them is also good. Maybe if you can hold a second season because you are still curious about the next story. For 2024, maybe this is KBL with a good rating. And So far for the world of Korean Boys Love Drama is very good and maybe a little desire from us as KBL viewers that there is a need for an increase in the time or duration of airing and the number of episodes in each KBL. Success for love for love’s sake.

My Roman Empire.

Li Chengyin and Xiaofeng’s love story was doomed since the beginning. Every happy moment was followed by slaughter and despair. They kept falling in love with each other despite everything till hating themselves. Their story is truly the most painful.

Both actors did great in their roles, especially the FL: i felt every emotion she wanted to convey. It must have been so difficult for them to shoot some scenes and they truly did great.

It’s the most angsty drama I’ve ever watched because there was no salvation for their love story. It’s powerful because it moves you and it’ll keep lingering in your mind for days.. They made it impossible to forget.

The chemistry and visual of the mains really pull me to watch this series and it turns out a good series. Well the only thing I hate here was their lack of communication they definitely love each other but yeah it really triggers me how they dont even try to communicate with each other but still I finished this series WHAHAHAHA

But their body language really said I love you in every way possible but I think they are dense WHAHAHAHA

Actually shooked about the behavior of the both character... but yeah as the story goes I understand the both of them... They really find the peace and love in each others arm

Masterful!

I loved this BL series from start to finish. I didn't want it to end. I cried on the last episode, it was so emotional!
I absolutely need a second season. or maybe a new project with the same cast.
All the characters are loveable, except for that blond guy for sure, hah
Lee Tae Vin is such a brilliant actor, he has natural charisma and talent! Myung Ha is my favorite character, and I fell in love with him!
Cha Joo Wan is an excellent actor too, he is gorgeous; the way he portrays his character with all this vulnerability, and fondness toward Myung Ha is too adorable/ cute.
Their chemistry is 100% believable and out of this world, I never noticed a cringe or awkward moment between them. Their kisses scenes make me melt. Goosebumps!!! What a marvelous and perfect BL couple!
Min Su and Woongki did a fantastic job as well. Kudos to the whole cast, production, and directing.
I highly recommend this series, it's worth rewatching it a thousand times because it's too good. It certainly is at the top 1 on my list of all-time faves KBLS and at the top 5 of my favorites BLs in general.
Love for Love's Sake is one of the best KBLS of all time. It's a masterpiece, it's a gem, period.

I am so normal with this show......

omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg Love for loves sake is a game-changer in the bl realm, taking you on a journey that's anything but ordinary.

Tae Myung Ha's switcheroo from a regular 29-year-old to a 19-year-old character inside a virtual game is like stepping into uncharted territory. The quest to sprinkle some happiness into Cha Yeo Woon's pixelated life brings forth a mix of track and field glory, handsome looks, and emotional wrecking...

The ending is pure cinematic magic, not rushed but carefully crafted, making it stand out in the Kbl landscape. The chemistry between the characters feels real. The acting is good. Characters are lovable. Iconic lines. Well-written script. Nice visuals. Name it. This is Cinema!

A must watch! It is a delightful anomaly in the best way possible, offering a unique blend of romance, drama, and a dash of virtual reality that's anything but normal.

If you can handle cringe and full comedy it may be for you

Actually I find it disappointing... why? because the story have a potential, its actually unique a middleman who finally can have his own love life but suddenly it turns out boring, cringe and and not that good. Yim did a great acting in the cutie pie the series so I had an expectation here but yeah his acting was not giving... its to much actually that some of the scene was hard to watch. But if we'll talk about what is good in this series... probably the character of Tutor which really gives me a butterfly in stomach. He's so soft to Jade^^

The phasing of the story was to slow... I think the story got better in episode 6. I finished it because I really love tutoryim... but if you don't want to disappoint then maybe you can skip this series.

Face Your Own Demon

Such a sweet and heartwarming story about two men, who actually liked each other since high school but were separated due to the lack of communication. One was afraid after the 'rejection' and chose to run away, while the other one was kinda late to realize his own feeling and lost his man for few years.

The series told us that we should never avoid our own troubles, our own feeling, because one day, sooner or later, it will haunt us back, and to have a closure (happy or sad) is better than to avoid it.

Although it seems that the communication wasn't built well at the beginning (because LW avoided to communicate) but in the end, LW was brave enough to choose the thing that was best for him at this moment (stay with SKT)

The trauma of being left behind without any explanation (being ghosted) is definitely real. I could understand SKT's feeling about it. It's indeed a very unpleasant experience.

I have watched this series for 3 times, and it always puts a smile on my face each time after re-watching it.

Fun Harlequin bodyguard-trope mini-drama that gets unnecessarily convoluted

My Name is Zhao Wu Di is a rather silly, but sexy and fun mini-drama starring Zhao Yaoke and Leo Yang, that pushes the "skinship" and innuendo boundaries of what we would normally see in C-dramas.

You may have seen Zhao Yaoke in The Day of Becoming You and The Imperial Coroner, both very good full-length dramas. I also liked her in Healing Food, Healing Love with Zhang He. Leo Yang, or Yang Yeming, only came onto my radar last year with the (even more smoldering and boundary-pushing) Republican Era short-length series, Miss Mystery. In Zhao Wu Di, viewers will either swoon over the gratuitous shirtless scenes and his smoldering stares -- or find his "dead-fish eyes" an emotionless turn-off. Cheng Long, who plays the supporting side-kick security guard, was one of the highlights.

Among bite-sized mini-dramas with the "Bodyguard" romance trope, this is one of the better ones in terms of action-sequences, acting, and overall production value -- and unlike the vast majority of short-length dramas, this one was mostly filmed with live audio, meaning the actors are not poorly dubbed by another voice actor. But marring the drama's overall potential is a plot that gets unnecessarily derailed by increasingly convoluted and silly twists as the storyline progresses, culminating in a laughable climax involving the villain and his cellphone (I don't want to give any "spoilers" -- however predictable -- but you'll know when you see it).

Still, if you're looking for a low-commitment drama fix or background watch and your tolerance for goofy plot developments is high, Zhao Wu Di is a quick and easy watch.

A delicious dessert with a questionable main ingredient

Lets first acknowledge the elephant in the room. Relationship between a teacher and student is fraught with ethical complexities due to power dynamics. As the series progressed I thought that I would accept it as fiction and move on but unfortunately, with the last couple of episodes, I am unable to ignore that discomfort. So this review will be based on the themes of the series.

Beyond the forbidden central romance, this is a coming-of-age story. We see the jouney of our titular character Toki. He starts of as a delinquent who is quick to anger and violence. Studies are the last thing on his mind but we see his character and outlook towards life change due to his interactions with other characters like Rise, Shinji and Takuya. He learns to take his life more seriously and values the relationships he has build with his schoolmates. Although, he starts having feelings for his homeroom teacher Sahara, he also respects him and challenges himself to change. Sahara, too goes through his own jorney of self-identification as he grapples with his past regrets.

As a teenager in school, Toki suffers from the same identity issues that people his age face. Toki post his delinquent phase, struggles with societal pressure and insecurities about his academic performance. He is visibly stressed about where he wants his future to navigate. He questions his feelings towards another individual and finds it difficult to show how caring he is towards the people that matter to him. Shinji too suffers from failure to communicate his true feelings for Todo resulting in them moving apart and losing all communication with each other.

Toki and Sahara, too find solace and strength in each other. Sahara helps Toki unleashing his best qualities while Toki helps Sahara accept his past and his failures and move ahead. They act as each others support system and are constantly looking after each other.

Hachimura Rintaro's portrayal of Toki makes this series the most entertaining. He succeeds in bringing a different charm to the character of a lovable, confused, tough but soft-hearted Toki. With an innocent countenance and a twinkle in his eye, he steals the show.

In conclusion, this series weaves together a compelling and emotionally resonant story about acceptance and the pursuit of happiness in the face of societal pressures. It speaks about rising above the past failures and turning over a new leaf.

estou derretido

Agency above all

A deeper story than it looks, with a late-blooming yet most radiant love.
The pay-off at the end ties up threads and was incredibly satisfying, and I wish that anyone who gives this show a go watches it until the end. Stories that seem simple enough can hide despair, yet all it takes is one person to rewrite your end.

It's nice.
You should watch it.

I kind of need 500 characters but I do want to add- If you want a simple dish, fry up or buy some chicken and bell peppers, mix it with mango chutney and sambal oelek, throw some chopped garlic and whipped cream on it and throw it in the oven. Measure to taste.

Favorite Drama of all time

Forever grateful to whatever stars aligned to make me watch Hidden Love. It was the first CDrama I have watched, and I am yet to find another cdrama that can keep me as bewitched by the drama and even the bts. Although the story itself is nothing extraordinary, and there are no real plot-twists etc, the viewer is kept hooked by the sheer chemistry of Chen Zheyuan and Zhao Lusi. Both of them were so beautiful and bewitching, there was no need for anything else. They could have been reading out the recipe to boil potatoes, and we would have been just as hooked. The OST was also chef's kiss. Forever star has become one of those unskippable songs.
