I’m loving this drama so far but I’m curious why this one has a much higher rating than With You. So far it…
A lot of the complaints i've seen in regards to With You is mainly centered on the ending hence it's lower score. I think people wanted to see their final meeting at the tree and for it to be explicitly stated that they were together in the end. This led to some people being confused as to whether or not they do end up together in the end and for some people, if the lead couple aren't together by the end of the drama, that means the drama doesn't have a good or happy ending.
I personally love the "cheap" CGI, I don't know why they are always complaining. I feel especially xianxia dramas…
Yep, me too. I rather they use it to create a unique fantasy world that is lovely to look at like Eternal Love. Based on the trailer, it looks like that's what we're getting which is great.
The same story can be told countless times and still have variations. There's always different ways to interpret and re-imagine a story. Some adaptations might be more faithful to the source material while others may not. The core details can remain the same but little changes might be fun to spot for fans. Plus. this drama has already exceeded 100 million views so i'm sure people aren't tired of this story yet.
I don't understand the comments about the cgi or it being too colorful. This is a xianxia/fantasy. It's not supposed to be grounded in reality, I like that they're using the cgi to create something that feels otherworldly and the use of bright colors adds to that.
Agreed. I've seen comments scattered around from people that are put off by this drama's sense of humor, they…
Oh, I've never actually finished In a Good Way but another one of the writers also wrote "Love, Timeless" which is one of my favorite recent Taiwanese dramas. So far it looks like IQiyi Taiwan hasn't interfered besides forcing Subway down our throats or trying to.
What's up with this low score? The writing for this drama is really warm and cozy, very slice-of-life and I love…
Agreed. I've seen comments scattered around from people that are put off by this drama's sense of humor, they find it too silly or the situations too heightened. But for me this drama's concern for humanity and positivity is so infectious and heartwarming. I saw that one of the writers from this drama is also involved with Plant Goddess, so i'm looking forward to that as well.
The dubbing seems a little bit more acceptable after watching this trailer. Still would prefer if they make the undubbed version (if there is one?) available for international audiences since it isn't necessary for international audiences to comprehend the spoken dialogue in Standard Chinese.
Review by AvenueX for the first 12 episodes. Sounds like a nice and pleasant watch. Viki is trying to acquire the license for this, so please fill out the form so we can get this subbed.
Isn't that basically the same story as I'm Not A Robot? Except that there's no robots?
This was adapted from a novel that was published in 2016. The main male lead in this does not live in isolation but does fear having skin contact with other people except when he makes skin contact with the female lead due to a past trauma. I think she also has a fear of being on camera especially when she's the center of attention. So no it's not just the fact that there are no robots that makes this different than I Am Not a Robot.
IA on the liver part but I also was thinking maybe they just need a whole intact piece or that the liver has to…
Yeah that's what I meant with my second point, Helan's father wanted Helan and Huiyan to fall in love then Huiyan would sacrifice herself so that Helan wouldn't get close to and fall in love with a human again.
I don't think we can take everything that the Princess says as fact, she's clearly scheming and has ill intentions. Plus, she probably harbors some hatred for humans because of the situation with her sister.
Thanks for writing all that though, it helped in clarifying some things for me!

Thanks for the updates as always!
