Gem: critical thinkers & character development delight

Story: not new, just a business sector not often portrayed in dramas.- The construction industry.
Super intelligent female crapped on by men personally & professionally, bounds to heights of achievement to re-engineering a company.
Actors: ML & FL stunning maturity & mental acuity abound. All actors were perfectly cast and shined.
Music: well choreographed to mood & story.
RW: yes -
Final point: if you are looking for a drama with no child play acts, silly characters, light & easy storyline & romance, DO Not watch. This is
As compelling & depth of acting as NiF , YAnxi, this is a must. Highly addictive drama.

Dr child?

Story: most ludicrous gender swap. This female child was no way mistaken for anything but a silly- never really Saw her doctor... Enough said! Just bad & ludicrous.
Too many eps for a lackluster storyline. Tops 16eps. 12eps for an improved story.
Acting: FL was either perfect for role OR she needs a lighter role. Nothing serious. ML carried the drama. Rest of crew was emmmp.
Music: was pretty at times.
RE: no way.
Overall: Cv19 bound got me here. Skipped half due to ludicrous & mundanity of FL & story. Oh well, believing I’m lucky not to have encountered this child, male/female weak if I was sick,

Tolerable short drama focused on a kind heart girl who grows into a woman, her sidekicks and of course evil in-laws. This is a great Mothers Day drama dealing with independence, adult relationships and discovery of oneself. If you are looking of romance this is NOT for you.
Story: 2 complimenting story-lines 1) kind-heart girl married into a hellish family for love. She starts living a nightmarish - suffocating existence since she married "up." 2) ajumma band with 4 women who simply need their rock music to gain fresh air into their lives.
Acting: lead actress is always seems to play roles exaggerating her acting, so she was OK. The sidekicks felt more honest in their portrayal. As for the leading men - neither were appealing nor striking actors.
Music: major theme of drama - mild rock. Nothing wormy nor memorable.

Overall: Always searching dramas with more mature actors (who can act), solid writing - production story-lines with meaning.. Since this dealt with Ajummas, I kept watching. Was I disappointed? NO, Did I get something out of this? Yes - A pleasant and tolerable drama if you're looking for something that's a welcome departure from HS or childish antics.

A short yet powerful, sensitive series of betrayal, family, growth, forgiveness and food! Why watch when drama world is full of content focusing on all points above?
Story: not a new line. Older 35+ woman conned/betrayed by lover, lover had teenage son he dumped upon woman, homeless, penniless and smart woman pulling herself back together. Many side characters who are damaged accompany her along her journey of forgiveness. Really loved the full spectrum of characters age, appearance, and status portraying parallel problems to the lead actress!
Acting: Female lead was great, however my favorite was grandpa. Grandpa kept it real for the entire series. Other characters filled the second lead well however you never lost focus on the lead actress.
Music: well matched to the mood, pace and story-line. Nothing memorable - not a bad thing, Left me thinking about story not the music.
Re-watch: maybe since its a short series. Not a series that needs re-watch - this little gem needs to be watched.
Summary: Many of the scenes were so realistic of being dumped, used, betrayed, and numbness which made this drama memorable. This moves at a slower pace than many dramas since its packed with many meanings behind each word. Still trying to grasp why she took him back? This man was a bad man, maybe he was redeemed - trust broken is hard to re-establish. Could see forgiveness to personally move on BUT not to reconnect - Enjoy!

This popped on my Netflix "you would like queue" so I gave a try. Dang a winner if you like ronin-samurai flicks with lots of killing bad guys, done well. The age old story of small town overrun with gangs killing & extorting locals for kicks and cash. Takeshi directed this with humor, japanese philosophy, and lots of flair. The most touching scene is around the two geishas and how they came into the geisha world, especially since one of them is her brother. Two scenes are ultra worthy of your time 1. Geisha backstory flashback 2. Final scene - yep and it works! All the actors nailed their roles especially Zatoichi - blind masseuse ( need to see more of this actor). Give this a try - samurai, geishas, yakuza, blood, and awesome sword play... Neatly finished with a ending number to make your smile.

Finally finished this series and well worth the wait. This jdrama is about a time travelled female ninja partnered with granny, teacher, thief & cross dressing bar keep to fight the fights the police ignore. Each episode deals with the ugly side of human nature capitalizing on the glorious 7 sins, all the while Sana coming to grip with new existence in the modern world with humans still as ugly as in her original era. If you like jdrama, ninjas, no romance, and solid human interest, this one is for you. You felt good knowing the really evil folks get cans of whoop a%* from a female warrior & grandma. Hope they make Tenchu 2.

Ok, if you liked or saw Devil Wears Prada and enjoyed, this is the Japanese version & I enjoyed. For me the stand-out was Miki-san who battled the boys, girls and teams creating a path not for the faint of heart. Storyline was similar to DWP yet mildly & culturally fitting for Jdrama. This is not a heavy jdrama however subtle learning's can be extracted. Re-watch? Way to many to see before I re anything soon.

What a great surprise, another superb series cut short, I'm sure they were getting too close to reality for the powers to be. The Lead is a STRONG, intelligent and NO BS Dtr who wants to save lives and retain her life simultaneously. The supporting cast is good and lend their roles to make her stronger. Each episode deals with Dtrs fighting themselves & the politics of the Good Ole Boy club +sloppy admin while true talent has to go rouge-free-lancing to save lives. These rouges are bashed & ridiculed by the system while folks are needing caring - purposeful - non-GOD like Dtrs. This show added the element of an aggressive & good-looking female to challenge the boys-Challenge on sister! As for the majong manager-master, he stole the scenes dancing & dialogue especially in his SNLive white suit doing shots with Dr. My only problem, not all episodes are subbed on Viki - seems to be a theme for Japanese series (subbing is really lagging)sadly for these good-quirky-serious topic series. So if you liked 10 or 10.2...You might like this series! Till next time -

Its over finally...
This drama was headed for 10pts, then the dreaded 12eps just pooched the whole thing.
Story: not new: goddess/sorceress entangles hearts with the handsome prince. Complete with sibling rivalry, political mess, whacked daddy emperor, maternal power plays and always helpful eunuchs or little brothers to keep the crap going.
Acting:  Nothing stood out as bad and all filled their roles. The triangle of love always involve the pretty ones.
Music: did not get in the way - fit the mood and actions
RW: not soon... and maybe
Overall: costumes, locations, and actions are memorable and grab you immediately. CGI was breathtaking.  The drama is from a popular book and thus being a book person, the book is always better (until translated for me) however the on-screen story seem to lag/weigh down with the AChai tribe princess obsession (way over-done), Ling mother demon crap, Ming dead-alive act, crazy emperor act. The audience got the pic of these "lost" folks yet we had to endure painstaking eps that could have been eliminated to provide a better ending.  The final eps felt rushed, incomplete and bam done! When so much time was spent on characters who added no growth or value. This drama would have been great at  42-45 eps max.  Glad I watched, just not happy with direction and length - drama overlords really pooched this drama!

A story of loss, confidence, and fate. This story is well written and delivered by two actors who perform well in their roles. Story is tightly written not giving any hints until the very end while the first & second half display an girl in pain resulting in her over use of control and physical abuse to others & self. The boy is just another lost young man who gets ignited into life by this explosive girl who he grows to love. The final half is really the beginning for both characters, allowing fate to work its magic. Would I watch again? too many to see!

Just don’t even try to make any sense

Story: just not sure. Maybe a family wrongly held hostage - power by evil family for decades... sorry I’m still scratching my head.
Acting: FL as childish in eps thru 50; ML - he’s the only reason ton continue. Most nonsensical was the doofus 2nd lead - he should be with the child. The bicolor evil guy was good, his web of evil was tight. He delighted in strange delights.
Music: really?
RW: why?
Overall: some good fight scenes. The story just never got nailed down fully. Revenge, twisted love, classic emperor antics, poor character development. Why 55eps? Skipped half. Better flushed out story and 24eps. Maybe. Not powerful enough to be under anything. Watch at risk& skipping is advised. Good Luck

IOTL began complicated and ended complicated - masterful! The writer and PD executed a well written drama setting the bar high for quality mature drama. Been a fan of this drama since day one with the candor and chemistry of the leads &entire cast for giving us an unapologetic view of the effects of mental illness, abuse, betrayal and the complicated storms they insert in the lives of many. SIS & GHJ chemistry was magical (as usual she has a great way of pulling the best of her male leads)! The entire phenomenally talented cast was instrumental in the telling of this intricate storyline of damaged people trying to make sense of life in a perfect facade world. Mental illness, abuse, betrayal, sex, love, family and work-life are the key points in this drama, thus if you are looking for a fuzzy, candy drama this is not for you. If you are looking for a drama that realistically depicts flawed people, FAB OST, great acting, tears, and lots of laughs this drama is for you! Would I re-watch? YES!

Have made it to ep15 & tired of the lead actress whining and cowardness. As for the lead actor he has no redeeming qualities. I believed this drama would really go somewhere when it started but she keeps whining and he is boring thus I have decided to p.s. this one.
Why watch? Not sure !
The actor most interesting was 2nd lead, at least he was interesting and could act!

Story: Not new- highly dysfunctional rich family fighting for control. The churn on this is the way it was unfolded with deceit, greed, and sexism on full display. Behind this entire story deals with a cultural phobia & isms that the writers handled superbly! This story is another fine example of how POWER works - power in the hands of a relentless, loyal women.
Acting/Cast: The entire cast was well chosen and perform off the charts. Dir HAN was sublime, cunning and ruthless- perfect as a antihero. Not one disappointment.
Music: Well done and fitting.
RW: Yes!
Overall: This story was had flavors of Christie and Tey, golden age mystery writers who were able to write timeless tales of dysfunctional, greed, deceit wrapped around cultural norms. If you are looking for a drama with less sweet and more substance, this might engage you. Must admit the beginning eps almost got me to drop due to the std trope of rich & entitled asshats getting away with murder & crushing the working man. Well, that's how they got rich right? Go deeper into the eps and you will find yourself hooked on the fulcrum character, she's amazing!

Began this drama post fellow MDL'er's listing. Since I am NOT a sports enthusiasts this put me off YET the storyline and the ever manly KT (Halu) kept me coming back for more. The hockey part of the drama served as the analogy of life and the complications of friendships & love. The entire cast was awesome depicting their roles, especially chemistry of leads was always set on simmer - nice. The story, not new just a well portrayal of growth- boys to men & girl to woman through angst, love, pain, and forgiveness. The music: QUEEN need I say more! Queen music was perfect for this drama, by aligning to the two leads personalities. Watch again? Hummmmmmmmmm so much drama to see, but KT is a draw! Caution, the music will brain worm you - I was born to love you!
