16 eps of "not sure." Potential was there for a 10 rating...

What made me watch - the main two leads, who are stunning actors in their own right and did a fantastic job on the story they were given. Where we get lost is somewhere in eps 10,or 11, or 12 the story-line couldn't decide what to do with this outstanding female detective "lady". The drama is set up like individual scenarios of heinous to bad stories that never got linked until eps ???
As for endings, this will rank as one of the most ill-prepared ending and should be entered as an example of "how to murder a drama".
S2? cannot see these actors coming back to this mess.
What lacked? Character backstory, development, and excessive time spent on silly antics of non essential characters& stories, bad writing, cliches and poor direction giving an overall sense of LOST.
ReW?: Why? poor direction, writing is not going to improve with time.
Overall: watch at own risk, watch for the main leads ONLY, have LOW expectations for any resolution that makes sense. Hope there is no S2 with this caliber of actors who were wasted.
Major drama-lords FAIL - maybe that's what they wanted - a poorly rated show to prove intelligent mature females dramas do not sell or work in drama world. Sorry fellas, we know better. It sells if done well!

Summary of story-line: A long story of delayed revenge. Sound familiar? Setting in the medical ivory towers in China, but could be anywhere. Procedural and light on romance that could have been much more smoldering.
Acting: The real standout were the leads - they had chemistry. The surrounding cast and stories were credible and supported the main story-line of revenge-love.
Music: no real winner for me. It did not get in the way.
RW: Not for a while - too many eps.
Overall: Good story that seemed rushed at the end, felt like the writers were told end here and they just scrambled to tie up. It ended the way it started with the OTP bickering. Wish the writers would have ended it with Xi bickering with Zhang, and he just walk over and kissed the hell out of her. This move would have startled her immensely and given the viewers a bit more of his smexy stares manifested into something besides a hug. Cdrama is getting better.

With a grimaced grin I started this 58eps saga and finished with smile knowing the gods have a complicated love life too! This drama is long, detailed with lots of plots, sub-plots and sub-sub-plots.

Story: Full pageantry, scenery & costumes fit for gods - simply breathtaking. Ok, the story is a complicated love of two gods who are toss about time by any and all other gods-deities' (big-small). Lots of action, dialog, backstabbing, front-stabbing lust and greed. No wonder us mortals are kinda screwy when it comes to love, the gods are in the same boat. Wuxia galore - magically performed.

Acting/Cast: Hands down Mark Chao is mesmerizingly handsome in ALL his roles. He alone is worthy of the watch. The female lead Mi Yang had excellent chemistry with male lead and was cast perfectly as the white-9tail fox, silly, mischievous, cunning and smart. The other host of characters were cast ideally with some more memorable than others.

Music: Well done, nothing exceptional NOR bothersome. Well matched for Wuxia.
Re-watch? Not for awhile and selective eps only. Too long to RW in entirety.

Overall: Solid fantasy, romance, wuxia done well. Mark C is just lovely to watch onscreen. I believe he channeled that role as crown prince, God of War to perfection.

If you enjoyed Nirvana, give this one a try!

SLY - Yes it was...

Story: love lost, love found, creepy connections, secret adoptions and marriage via a coma. Yes, this was basically the plot.

Actors: Started this due the opening sequence - the main leads voice is deep, mature and addictive. He was my main reason for watching, simply listening to his calm, peaceful voice wading through the youthful love got my attention. The female lead had good chemistry just way to immature for this match. All the other players/actors were mediocre to blerg.

Music: Nothing memorable

ReW: No, NO, NOOOOO. Way to long for result. 32eps. Why did I watch? Sped through many, so pain reduced.

Another Cdrama that hits all the marks. Getting more and more impressed with Cdrama.
Story: not new just modernized saga of 5 girls who transform into women via life's trials, happiness, sadness, MEN and sisterhood. Story focused on female sisterhood that is earned and rewarded by seeing the faults, beauty & loyalty of any relationships. Story was draggy in some eps however character development was spot-on and so-far (S1) no backbiting, hair tearing or betrayal yet lots of misunderstanding!
Acting: Stellar actors of NiF bring the fire in this drama. The men were smouldering & mature. The women were spot-on their character portrayal - thus a casting nirvana. Some characters were irritating as the writer wanted us to feel however the cast & acting was refreshingly well done!
Music: fit the drama, some was cheesy, nothing memorable except the opening music was rather primal and memorable. Well played PD & writer.
RW: maybe before S2 comes to refresh - some scenes were memorable. Not telling which one for me....

Overall, this drama is for a more mature minded viewer since it lacks the silliness factor many long dramas incorporate to extend or capture a younger viewership. If you need something to bridge that NiF gap, give this Cdrama a serious view. Be prepared for laughs, sighs and tears and its all worth it!

Story: not new story-line. Rich-arrogant man falls for poor girl who wears the heaviest coat of guilt-Cdrama style. Hidden message of solid great friends can stand the test of time and not be a crutch. This drama was STRETCHED out way beyond its limits with 36. A healthy 18-24 drama would have been ample.
Acting: This was rated as such all do to the male lead, son and her BFF- Fei. Female lead was a sad sack of a woman, we can only hope she does not possess any of these characteristics in real world.
Music: nothing memorable and a bit of irritating.
RW value: Only to see a couple scenes of the male lead. He was stunningly handsome and suave.

Final Note: Cdrama has a tendency to follow a formulaic pattern with a bit of cheesy. Several eps fast forward since the silly girl just irritated or felt repetitious. Was looking a drama with folks who are NOT wearing HS uniforms or body swapped with adult situations. This was OK and just needed to finish -

Found this drama by accident and was pleasantly surprised - especially since the glut of DOCTOR dramas have flooded the screens.
Story: not new a medical drama story-line, oppressive working environments, doctors attempting to have a personal life (men & women), smexy male doctors. This series cross the path of mature subject matter, love and yearning to be better doctors. In some aspects if you like Dtr X1,2,3 you will enjoy this.

Actors: Three key coupling the main couple have serious chemistry, the kind you feel through the screen. All other couples have chemistry, not to the level of couple 1.

Music: semi-memorable and fitting
Rewatch: No - will look for other Jdramas with lead actors. Not a bad drama since there are so many to find.

Have been in search of dramas that are not full of kpop idols, kids learning to act, poor kissers. This Jdrama is a decent watch for those wanting a more mature story-line.

This drama was DAEBAK! If not for fellow MDL'ers comments/reviews I would have put this in the "bubble-gum" category - Thanks fellow MDL'ers!

Story: Well written, and directed. Story dealing with being alive and living - Regrets & passion - Defining learning how to love! Loved the surrounding cast and all the realistic quirkiness of their lives & loves. Well written + stellar camera/sound work. My only issue from a full 10, the last couple eps felt like they pull the story along unnecessarily, the story was gripping enough.
Acting/Cast: An entire cast of REAL actors. People with skills and chemistry. The two leads were simply magnetic, drawing in each other and us! The lawyer & noona couple were simply delightful and magical to watch their story & iteration of love bloom. Well done selection of actors to carry off this this twisted storyline.
Music: Rather "wormy" & well done!
ReW: Yes - after some time to digest all the content of this drama.
Final Note: Do not be fooled by some of the bubble-gummy looking posters. Read some of the reviews, trust the fellow MDL'er whose reviews you can believe. Learned my lesson -

Finally finished this '14 hit series. Am I glad I did? Yes! Was heavily invested and or cared? Not Really.

Story: Combination of Cinderella, Pretty Woman and Taming of the Shrew. An outcast, Plus-Sized, loving and devoted woman marries a handsome gold-digging man who proceeds to cheat all the while his family is abusive - all while she smiles and keeps going. She has a one-sided belief in their marriage vows, while hubby is cheating and plundering all he can. Murder, attempted murder, betrayal, lies, plastic surgery and a lonely man, what a wonderful combo. The story held me up to about eps14-15 where she is discovering her old self, new self and deciding her future self. Then the story just gets needlessly cruel and draggy with revenge. We get it writers, you needed a series of lots of evil & low moral folks surrounding a good woman. This series should have been 16eps. The remaining 5eps are just aggravating and formulaic - even the fairy tale ending... *blerg*

Acting: Female lead was entertaining, juxtaposing new & old beauty eps 1-14. After awhile she was overly treacle playing the victim role. Male lead was solid and unwavering (much better actor). The host of evil folks - all seemed too easy for them to portray flawlessly and unforgiving.

Music: I liked and catchy opening OST
ReWatch: Once was enough.

Tolerable short drama focused on a kind heart girl who grows into a woman, her sidekicks and of course evil in-laws. This is a great Mothers Day drama dealing with independence, adult relationships and discovery of oneself. If you are looking of romance this is NOT for you.
Story: 2 complimenting story-lines 1) kind-heart girl married into a hellish family for love. She starts living a nightmarish - suffocating existence since she married "up." 2) ajumma band with 4 women who simply need their rock music to gain fresh air into their lives.
Acting: lead actress is always seems to play roles exaggerating her acting, so she was OK. The sidekicks felt more honest in their portrayal. As for the leading men - neither were appealing nor striking actors.
Music: major theme of drama - mild rock. Nothing wormy nor memorable.

Overall: Always searching dramas with more mature actors (who can act), solid writing - production story-lines with meaning.. Since this dealt with Ajummas, I kept watching. Was I disappointed? NO, Did I get something out of this? Yes - A pleasant and tolerable drama if you're looking for something that's a welcome departure from HS or childish antics.

Loved this and gain a deeper appreciation of T.O.P. and the icy actress SSK. These roles played to their strong suit and acting levels especially SSK.
If you have watched any of the Clooney's OCEANS trilogy and loved it, you will certainly enjoy this movie. It's all about the grif and some revenge ...
Music - Acting - Story-line: Korean Oceans. Well done! Great Saturday night flick for those who need a bit more action in their flicks...

A short yet powerful, sensitive series of betrayal, family, growth, forgiveness and food! Why watch when drama world is full of content focusing on all points above?
Story: not a new line. Older 35+ woman conned/betrayed by lover, lover had teenage son he dumped upon woman, homeless, penniless and smart woman pulling herself back together. Many side characters who are damaged accompany her along her journey of forgiveness. Really loved the full spectrum of characters age, appearance, and status portraying parallel problems to the lead actress!
Acting: Female lead was great, however my favorite was grandpa. Grandpa kept it real for the entire series. Other characters filled the second lead well however you never lost focus on the lead actress.
Music: well matched to the mood, pace and story-line. Nothing memorable - not a bad thing, Left me thinking about story not the music.
Re-watch: maybe since its a short series. Not a series that needs re-watch - this little gem needs to be watched.
Summary: Many of the scenes were so realistic of being dumped, used, betrayed, and numbness which made this drama memorable. This moves at a slower pace than many dramas since its packed with many meanings behind each word. Still trying to grasp why she took him back? This man was a bad man, maybe he was redeemed - trust broken is hard to re-establish. Could see forgiveness to personally move on BUT not to reconnect - Enjoy!

Great adult - family drama for those looking for something easy, amazing dialog and feel-good.
Story: Family story of growing older, growing up, love and all the craziness a solid family offers each other. Lots of lessons and reflection of leads who are 50+.
Acting: Well done in the portrayal of what is love for 50+ look, smell and act like.
Music: nothing still ringing in my head - but not bothersome
Rewatch: possible a few of the episode.

This is S2 of this drama. There is not a heavy need to see S1 to understand S2 however S1 offers the backstory of all the characters and very enjoyable. This Jdrama portrays the travails of modern, professional women & men navigating life's journey (good-bad-sad-perplexing) through many characters life lenses. Great dialogs between all characters making this a drama NOT for everyone. However many of these scenes are glimpses into a real world - when we all may be so lucky to make it to 50+ and remain smiling.

Beast of Burden, why did they make this? Why 15 eps. 8eps TOP!
Story - rich & arrogant aR$e boy falls for working class girl, love ensues. Triangle of past unfulfilled love. Not a new storyline. This reached a real low for me since it took Noble Obligatory to a level that is just wrong and STUPID.

Acting - Male lead was attractive and has potential. All the rest, whew.....more acting needed, try another field, story - just not this again. Run from this writer(s).

Music - nothing to remember _thankfully!

ReWatch: This drama should be watched as torture for folks. Story writers really pooched the final eps. Right, I on -hold at 12 and went for end and BAM nothing really happened but stupidity languishing in silly land.

<<< Reminder - we all will get older; not all get wiser. >>>
Why did I watch this?
Story: not new however the writing was well done offering a realistic slice of life for folks 40+. Many drama's out there attempting to tackle this subject matter + failing or limping due to overacting, wrong actors, silly writing-story-lines. This one demonstrated the lives of three different women who were not going down life's silly path - simply the path of not comfortable in one's own skin - lack of confidence to the core.
Actors: Women actors were smart, well-matched, and well acted. Male actors perfect for their supportive roles.
Music: one OST had a bit of brain worming effect, overall nothing really special NOR bothersome.
ReWatch: Low, not drama fault.
<ISO- In search of> dramas with characters who are over 40+ who are not taking the silly path or solid acting / compelling story line.
