Many mercies for this short drama!
Story - not new - really rather overused lately. Arrogant rich boy-man DESIRES poor girl. Girl finally awakens from silly daze, realizing she likes boy-man.
Acting - Male lead was only reason for watching - love his hands and mouth gestures. Female lead was clueless for the entire time, zoned out to silly land, + her acting was "blerg". The other cast of characters were more childish than female lead (really overacting and silly). Funny part was newscasters were still in their roles from previous drama - irony.
Music - not memorable
ReWatch - Oh heck to the NO! Once was enough and skipped half the eps and still got aggravated by all these actors for this "WTH" did I just spend my time doing drama. Oh yeah - male lead....

If you are looking for a great procedural crime drama - this one hits all the marks. Complex storyline of single female balancing home, work, kid, and sister with crime ridden workload to make you come unhinged.
Story: not new- another greedy, corrupt chaebols, cops and politicians who kill at random for power & $$. Set that against a justice driven female officer and kick-a@$ team who need to rid Korea of the corruptness. The storyline is full of twist, turns and complexity giving viewers a great ride.
Cast - strong, yet not overbearing. Well selected.
Music - well placed and fit the drama
Watch again? Probably not - nature of crime drama...
Most impressive was finally seeing a drama with a strong mature female lead who was not shackled by candy girl or lost identity or suffering low self confidence. This crime drama was about balance, family, and justice revenge.
side note: this villain was awesome, brilliant and crazy!

First off, this drama screamed 'not for you, way too bubblegum.' Surprise of the year for me! OMG is well written&produced-directed- thank you drama overlords. The male lead always seemed uncomfortable acting, stiff and just lackluster in other dramas however these traits played to the character he portrayed -well done! As for the female lead, she pulled off a great role and really offered us two people - well done.
Story line, a rigid, perfectionist, and lonely man runs into a girl with special abilities who turns his world upside over. All reminding us to live now, love now. Never take the next moment for granted.
Other supporting cast members were spot on and rounded out the story wonderfully.
Music: ideally placed yet not wormy.

Btw- if you are looking for a villain to go on any list, this drama has one and he is flawless in his portrayal of a kindness mask worn by pure evil - he was my takeaway role.

Watch again, maybe... good writing, directing, & production are rare now days.

Had all the earmarks for a great drama, what happened?

Story: Not sure who this story was about. MY, SJ, MW, SH? What the heck. False identities, lying, cheat, murder all dangled though-out yet nothing tied together. All these characters were complex and deserved better back stories to pull this story together and allow us to care about them.

Acting: The actress who played duel roles was great. To the extent you really thought they were two different people. This level of acting was felt and executed seamlessly. The other person you got drawn to was the villain-husband-pyscho man. The actor performed this with the most taut mask, you grew to like him because he was so convincing and hated. Both of these roles deserve recognition.

Music: OK - nothing that makes me remember this drama

Overall: this drama was about the lies, complex -troubled people, deception and betrayal, all great characteristics of drama. Now all it needed was better writing to make us care about all those folks wearing masks.

It's over! Thank goodness. This was like watching taffy getting pulled with a machine. Warm & cozy? Why did I finish, I'm still questioning myself. What was the story about? Why did it take 16eps to get warm & cozy when I only felt annoyed & cold toward the main leads. Scenery of jeju, magical. Lady diver storyline interesting. Older brother & lady diver relationship-worthy of watching, maybe. Still trying to figure out what the drama was about especially with that choppy final eps?????? Sorry this is not for everyone. They should have a warning sign "slow moving bus, honk twice to pass" OR "slow ride, enjoy at your own risk."

A beautiful setting, compelling subject matter - sake making. All told with artistic style & simplicity that the Japanese writers-directed have skillfully mastered - in 3eps!

Story: Man whose estranged from his marriage, life and family due to his corp stress job is jolted into chaos when it all comes crashing around him by death of his mother leaving the failing sake business to him for closure. Story is about the lives saved, changed while pursing the ultimate sake in a dying yet historic sake brewery as a sake master final masterpiece. Yes, there is competition but only to tighten the story not distract.

Actors: three main characters, son, old master and young man are the chief story drivers but so are the other brewery workers all with compelling lost soul-purpose persons.

Scenery of rural Japan, the intricate steps of brewing sake which is used metaphorically to explain life's chaotic journey made this one my favorite movies. This movie is well paced & well done, is it for you? Now to find and taste more sake.

Finally a Cdrama that's well done - thank you! Finally, an mature storyline & great story!

Story: Divorce lawyers of opposing sides find the love spot as they both work though the bad luggage they acquired from previous relationships. Not a new storyline, just a well acted and directed story.

Actors: Main leads chemistry was simply delicious and heartfelt. The side actors (and their stories) were well matched and performed.

Music: well matched and placed

This drama might resonate with any viewer who has been through any major life events and survived to be better on the other side. The leads have magnetic chemistry which make this so delightful to watch.

Rewatch: 46eps is long to rewatch but I might hop around to view episodes to keep these characters and their journey as a reminder on some key life points on love, marriage, divorce and smiles. Well done drama.

This was a quick, relevant and entertaining gem that depicted the clashing workforce of women & men with the backdrop the food.
STORY: not new, except the opening scene creates the catalyst for the 4-5 women who have been tossed, jostled/abused and or harassed band together to open a boutique type restaurant, going up against the odds & good old boy establishment.
ACTING - CAST: Well matched to the characters portrayed. The centerfold lead served as the fulcrum to keeping the others balanced as they attempt to right -side their worth in society and selves. This was the heart of the storyline!
Music: quirky yet catchy
RW: No... too many to catch up on...

Summary - If you are looking for completely subbed, quick 10eps, and light, no romance and not depressing yet a poignant storyline with lots of great looking food, give this drama a try - you'll might enjoy as much as I did.

What have I learned from 40eps+ dramas? So far you have not impressed me at all! LW started with sluggishness yet hopefulness, as it progressed is still held us coming back for more, we yearned for some justice and left in the land of want and angst.

Story: typical makjang storyline of poor, naive, and gullible girl, rich family and lots of bad-evil-twists.
Actors: for me the only standout was KSM as the loud-mouth gangster - she always made me laugh since she never took herself or role serious, thus allowing me to rank this higher in the acting category.
Music: nothing memorable nor did it do anything to help this drama
Rewatch: Never again!

What lacked was the overall lack of main character development into something we all cared about. I did find these women resilient - gutsy from start but they did not get wiser or less gullible or stronger even til eps40. The only people the writers kept developing were the manipulative, evil, and rich family who should have been called the witches or B*#$ches.
Final Note: HJH needs to be in a role that she is not used a door mat. So far she will remain "doormat actress" til she proves different.

H:H was a well told story of how family secrets crush the soul of any family, and how the closest circle of people are damaged by the selfish decision of keeping a secret.
Story: Not new just better told of an introvert-social phobia meets psychologist who is need of psychologist quickly realizing they are match. What made this story right was the pacing, great dialog and overall tightness of script. Not any storyline stray, simply watching these three characters develop within the 16eps was GREAT!
Acting: the onscreen chemistry & acting of the two leads was "spot-on" and totally believable. Their growing relationship was like watching a tadpoles grow into frogs. The actress who could not act (sister) was cast perfectly, she could not act - thus totally believable.
Music: Done well and matched the mood and feel of the actions on screen. Well done!
Would I watch again? Yes
H:H was a surprise hit for me in this land of dramas this season. Mostly all dramas have family secrets, but this story dealt with the severe emotional toll secrets have on all involved - voluntarily or NOT. Rec. this for those wanting something light BUT with a heavy undertone message and solid acting.

This is a long movie about the pain of breaking-up, betrayal and loss of faith in oneself. This movie illustrates the haunting pain accompanying those who lose the love of their life with out looking at the mirror realizing the might have been the source of the cause. Story not new. Acting - for a Chinese movie done OK with hints of cheesiness laced throughout. What made the movie for me was the well placed piano solo's adding to the dark, painful story.
Caution: if you have recently broken-up, this might NOT be the best on the other hand, if you are in a place to see yourself in these characters - go for it.
About mid-point, I wanted to kick her in the pants and say, get over it girlie. Go to work, clean-up and move on - glad to know others in the film agreed.

Snow days prevail and Miss Granny was the one of the best to bring a smile. This movie about the circle of life and the regrets accompany us along that path.

Story>> Granny story is not a new story. Its a realistic twist to a story done very well. Other age shifting stories are about youth, men, women, yet this is about a 70+ person reversing her age process whilst preparing for death and the impact it has on her family. The magic of the storyline is she never left being a granny in all her mannerisms, style, candor and wisdom which ends up being her most attractive characteristic. Enamoring her to many young & old in heart and soul.
Acting>> the cast & actors were so perfect portraying the aging & complex family dynamics. SDi was and remains one of my favorite actors with is accurate depiction of someone with depth and a fine sense of humor.
Music>> Was centerfold to the story of giving her a chance to live out a singing dream for once in her lifetime. Music was old school and extremely heartfelt (without any translation) Granny had some pipes!

Overall>> this story is solid family drama of common families coping to live under one roof while straddling the multi-generational dynamic and surviving. Granny will make you laugh, cry. smile and cause you to reflect on you & your family core strengths. Granny is must see for ALL ages & cultures...

Has been on my PTW list awaiting a place to view - finally the universe granted us snow days PLUS it's on dramacool.com. Not a bad way to spend snowed days.

Story> not a new story, only a story that demonstrated love(good & bad) at its different stages for folks over the age of 25. The poor-ditzy girl from country meets the prince of the city, both in need of a case of love to shake off the chills of loneliness & immaturity.
Actors> The two leads simply simmered & sizzled on screen acting out this "rella' story. The side story's and actors all repeated a similar storyline of the right love & support can mature a man & woman. Standout: The lead actor was this smoldering sexy, intelligent prince, waiting - urging his girl to grow-up into the woman she is meant to become (and does).
Overall>>
33eps _45~min each is long, but the story does move along and a bit skipping helps the move along. Cdrama sometimes have a low-budget feel however this drama feels and looks first rate putting it equal to any Kdrama RomCom. The only cheesy part for me were the misleading posters, not giving this drama a fair chance.
>Music - cute but not distracting, no music worms will invade.

Give this a shot is you like RomCom_ the story is good, heart moving and lots of twists, love triangles, betrayal and patient, enduring LOVE.

Mature viewers only! This is thinly veiled erotica wrapped around a blase storyline. Storyline is simple, mature adults who are thinking they are past their prime(work & play) are awakened-jolted by younger adults who are also stuck in ruts. The standout was the acting in these scenes of giving and taking pleasures - the cast was convincing without just gratuitous effects. Music was not the focal point thus I cannot remember it at all.
Watch again - no. Not due to content, blase storyline, or music, just once was enough.

Final thought. This drama focused on the arts (food & film) and how crossing preconceived lines is needed to spark that creativity regardless of age. After viewing you might think different about soy sauce & movie theater seats... Oh how we love the arts!

Lector Caveo = Reader Beware
Found this gem while looking for something else & happy I stopped and watched... This drama puts the M in melodrama without the typical makjang nonsensical acts by focusing on family, loss, change, betrayal and love that swirls around a woman over 50, accompanied by a cast of mature actors. The acting by the two leads was FAB and the onscreen chemistry was smoldering for these over 50 actors. The overall storyline was powerful and insightful how they dealt with numerous "isms" facing families &friends especially the portrayal of the transgender story. Many topics are touched here, however the underlying is the need of love-acceptance by & of family, lovers, men, women, transgender, tall, thick, etc... regardless of age or size.
Why watch? If you are looking for a solidly written storyline with actors who are 50+ this drama will resonate. If you have a large family with lots of drama & characters, this drama will resonate. If you need to see actors not trying to act HS or silly, this story will resonate.
The music was perfectly aligned to the mood and style of drama - nothing special YET it accentuated perfectly.
Would I watch again? Hard to get those 36eps done YET I somehow will miss this drama and the characters. Lastly, have tissues ready. This drama brings tears of sadness & joy thus many tissues-alternatively you will grin for the Mr Kim when he comes home from his first date. In the drama land, youth reigns however this story & actors affirmed that love comes in many shapes, colors, ages and genders. I can only hope that we see more quality drama like this for many of us who are believe in second starts in life.
