Yup, been there and done all of the above....but I'm a glutton for punishment. lol!

Sufficed to say that I have taken a break from what is laughingly called 'tearjerkers'....no, these are monsters who force you to cry a river of tears until you are a dehydrated husk of a human and then laugh as they rip your dried out, but still beating, little heart from your crispy body and then stomp it into dust.....

I tend to stick with more humorous and romantic dramas and comedies - those that yes, will make me cry, but NOT to the point I'm a snotty, hiccuping, tear stained mess; no, these just make you cry a little babbling brook of simple tears AND there will be moments that make you roll around laughing (Goblin, I'm looking at you).

Wow!!Drama about Sima Yi! With this cast?! I'm so in! <3
Art of War is amazing - the book is still used by companies to strategise corporate takeovers, especially hostile ones, and also when people are starting up companies they want to expand quickly and efficiently to take on their rivals and win. It's probably the best book I've ever read and considering it's nearly 2.5 thousand years old, it's amazing at how much is still relevant today in so many different areas. Oh Chinese is hard, but the hardest for me is Thai. I have had two strokes and have brain damage - but the weird thing is, it's made it easier for me to learn certain languages. Languages like Japanese and Korean have a certain melodic flow to their speech pattern (at least to me) that makes it easier for me to discern and hear - so I pay attention to the spoken and can pick it up....Chinese too to a lesser extent. But Thai is so abrupt and staccato that I struggle with it - so far I've only learnt okay in Thai!! XD

@DragonAlien -- Likewise, I watched Red Cliff 1 & 2 and was so impressed I went off to find out all I could about the politics of the time, Sima Yi and really just the whole 3 Kingdoms period. Red Cliff 1 & 2 are my favourite movies of all time. It was through them I also started studying Chinese warfare and got into the 'Art of War' by Sun Tsu (I have 2 copies of the book - one is small enough to go into my bag and I take it everywhere with me) and the other book I like is 'The Book of Five Rings'- by Miyamoto Musashi. However my most favourite book in the world is Art of War'by Sun Tsu.

I enjoyed the movie and really warmed to the older guy in the end (although in reality he's about my age I think - early 50s, and I'm 51) lol! It was a really unusual little movie; I liked that all the people in it were flawed, even damaged, in some way. There was no 'perfect' romance, no 'perfect' people - it was just a real 'slice of life' movie and with certainly less than traditional relationships involved right across the board.

I really liked it because of all that though; it's nice to see a drama *not* follow the usual accepted tropes and go it's own way - with unconventional relationships, that had their ups and downs (and no contrived misunderstandings; what happened was completely believable), and people struggling to find their own place in the world - to love and yet try not to get their hearts broken.

I gave it 8/10; it lost two points only because of the toe sucking - I'm not judging, whatever floats your boat and all that, but for me it was a bit heave inducing and so it was a 'get the hell out of Nopesville' when that happened!

I've had 21 family members deal with this disease and 3 have survived. All have fought it more than once and won every time - my father's just successfully completed his fourth battle with this disease and he's won. It's always better to catch it early and, having done so with Woo Bin, I'm sure he will win his battle too. It's not easy, but it can be done; and the sooner the start the better for him....so I'm very relieved to hear it's been discovered so early.. All I will say is FIGHTING! GANBARE!! He can and will kick cancer's butt.

It was the best of all the Ugly Duckling dramas too - the others were good, but honestly couldn't match Perfect Match (no pun intended. lol!)

Obviously people die, it's a war, but is it a tragedy for the two main leads? I'm really doing my best to avoid tearfests for now.

@SuperDrama101ohyea - Is it good? I've got it on my 'to watch' list (which I'm sadly falling behind in); I've seen trailers and it does look hilarious. But he's such a PUPPY, I can't see him being tough....unless it's 'puppy tough' (you know how they do that kawaii little growl and 'tuff' strut). lol!

I would NEVER, EVER do what she did. After everything he did for her - in her place I would NEVER have let it end like that for him; I would never have treated him that way at ALL. I was praying she'd turn round at the end, or cry, but she didn't. At that point I wish the cop had shot her.....but then death is too good for scum like that. I cried so much for Yo Han - I wanted her burned alive, tortured, although sobbing I was also raging at the end. He was angel and she was a devil of the worst kind.

Did he kill the kid coz he was afraid of being caught?
I think that's basically it. He did it so he wouldn't be separated from his 'daughter'. If he was, he knew the truth would come out and he'd lose her; plus his brother-in-law was blackmailing him and threatened to tell on him too (hence the reason for the kidnap). I thought the cop at the end was very harsh - she was raised by him, he WAS her appa and so of course she would love him and protect him. Besides she didn't really know the truth for sure and certain until the very last minute.......right before the crash.
