Ataru's scenes with adult Madoka were out of character. I don't see why his ability to communicate would be any…
He loved her; just that. Autistic people have feelings even if they can't always relate to them properly - so for him, Madoka was his first love (just as he was hers) hence why he would've followed her and she KNEW that - that was why HIS gun had no bullets.

I think in his own way Ataru also resented Larry - Larry was responsible for separating he and Madoka; Larry was responsible for Madoka becoming what she was. So he's not really Larry's best pal. Ultimately he was also responsible for Madoka ending up the way she did and so I have no doubt that if they'd made another movie, Ataru would've been VERY distant from Larry compared to Maiko and Shunichi.

One of my daughter's best friends has Asperger's Syndrome (a mild form of autism). I am a very demonstrative person and, when she was going through some tough times, I was very huggy as I really felt bad for her. My daughter told me she didn't like being touched; so of course I apologised - but she said "it's you; so it's okay."

It seems with some people they like and, MOST importantly, feel comfortable with, whilst they rarely make eye contact autistic people ARE capable of showing affection and ARE okay about some touching. Looking back, she did used to hug me too - not tightly or anything, but she'd pat my back. :) She told my daughter she knew I was just offering her comfort because I was sad she was upset; she said she was touched I wanted to comfort her the same way I would my daughter.

So I think Ataru is the same - in a more complicated case of autism admittedly. But he still feels, he still loves............and he can still dislike. I would love to see Nakai Masahiro reprise his role as Ataru, and witness how he deals with his grief and also Larry. I mean he truly NAILED the autistic characterisations, he also made Ataru such a complicated character but so lovable too. To see him deal with Larry and come to terms with being (perhaps in his own mind at least) alone now - THAT would be brilliant.

I'm truly hoping your just trolling because to think that way is really sad. I grew with a pathological liar for a father who was also a serial womaniser and who's behaviour was so horrible, my mum (who remained true to him until the day she died) finally had her health break and died much too early. I was raped by an ex-boyfriend AND beaten by him - BUT I do not blame all men because of my father and my ex. My own father in law was a controlling bully, but my husband - who I've never even THOUGHT of cheating on - is a wonderful husband and father who I do my best not to take for granted. I KNOW that not all men are lying, cheating scumbags who delight in torturing the people they claim to love. Likewise not all women are like the one in this movie. I am ugly, I admit and my health could be better - so perhaps I go more for the person inside than a vacuous person only interested in themselves; but I've been very lucky to have my husband and I tell him that every day and always do my best to ensure I don't add to whatever burdens he carries - I NEVER tell him when I'm having bad days and always try to smile and make jokes of any pain I'm in.

So, please, remember NOT all women are evil; just like I know not all men are. But, if you've been badly hurt by a woman to make you think this way, then I'm sorry - no one deserves that; but her loss. Don't let her ruin your life; she cannot have been worth whatever heartache you suffered. I know my ex and my father aren't. The only reason I keep in contact with the latter is he is my father and I promised my late mum who still worried about him literally until the day she died. Personally I count my blessings every day that I married a good and loving man. I genuinely hope you can move on one day and find happiness - don't let whoever hurt you win; she's NOT worth it.

Is this from China? I'm asking as I know all their BL ALWAYS ends with a tragic outcome - so not sure if I'll bother if it's Chinese.......really don't need to keep kleenex in business any more than I already do. I'd rather wait for Japanese/Thai BLs which often do have happy endings.

Till the end I hoped that it wasn't true, that it was just Nian plan so that Yan could forget him and marry that…
Oh yeah, definitely the case with the Chinese BL. However Thailand BL is the most open for happy endings, followed by Japan. :)

Till the end I hoped that it wasn't true, that it was just Nian plan so that Yan could forget him and marry that…
Right if you're sure - To those who might click on this - this is the HAPPY ENDING which is why I've ensured it's got the SPOILER box checked.

so Nian still leaves and gets into an accident; that doesn't change. However, in this ending he survives.....but he's crippled and disfigured. Xiao Yan still spends time trying to find him, around two years if I remember correctly. One day he's sitting on a bench reminiscing about what he's lost; and he sees this man pushing a wheelbarrow and limping along; the person also looks very skinny and weak (it's heartbreaking in the book). He takes time realising who it is, but when he does he rushes over and confronts him.

Nian is completely dumbfounded that Yan has found him. Yan kisses him and swears they'll never part again; even though Nian initially tries to tell him not to make such promises, to forget him and move on with his life. Yan won't listen and assures Nian that his love is true and hasn't faded - moreover that he's spent two long years looking for him. He gets Nian medical treatment and good food and takes care of him; making him a lot healthier.

However, Nian will never be the same as he was; he will always have a limp, always be scarred and always be sickly due to the accident. Still Yan loves him and looks after him, telling him he just wants him to stay by side; to go where he goes (as he told him after Nian was beaten up).... and so they stay together.....

You can see why this was the happy ending (bittersweet though it may be) and why the novel's fans were so RAGING this ending wasn't used. I LOVED this ending.......so much better than the awful sad one; I do so hope the censors relent and let it be released with the uncut video. what do YOU think of it? :)

where is the other ending the happy one i really need to see it to forget about all this shit ahhh i am going…
IF, and it's a big IF right now, the uncut dvd gets released with the happy ending then there are a multitude of BL and Chinese movie channels on Youtube promising to get it on there ASAP. Apart from uncut releases (IF HEs have been filmed) I am so done with Chinese BL now as we know it will NEVER contain a happy ending.....damn censors!

Sorry but i will not watch it. I want a happy ending.
It's not released yet as the uncut dvd has still not been released by the censors. The makers are hopeful it will next month now.

Ok is just me or China people don't know how to make a happy ending
The Chinese government can make happy endings but they NEVER do for the LGBT dramas as they don't want to 'encourage that lifestyle choice as normal'. They prefer to promote the idea that being gay will mean your parents hate and disown you and/or LITERALLY die of shame, that you and/or your partner will also die from disease/murder/random act of violence/paper cut or stubbed toe and that whatever happens being gay, lesbian, bi or trans means you lead an miserable existence and are fated to die young and in agony. It sickens me that the they are still so deeply in the Dark Ages....

Yes there is but the censors didn't want the movie released with it in case (and I quote their statement) "Chinese teens see a happy outcome and think this kind of lifestyle is normal" - NEWSFLASH being gay IS normal; it is NOT a lifestyle choice. Some of the comments on this movie with the sad ending on youtube cannot be repeated; what doesn't help is it looks like the censors are now deliberately dragging their feet on the release of the dvd because not only will it be uncut, but the filmmakers are insisting it contain the happy ending as they promised fans it would.......

We need a third part also...n
The novel has a happy ending - the Chinese censors will not let that happen by allowing a 3rd part......so it's been banned from making any more parts in China. Unless another, more LGBT tolerant country remakes it, we'll never see the end of the book on film. SUCH a SHAME.

How many episodes - someone said there's 7 (and that's what listed here), but kissasian only has 5. Anyone know…
Ah thanks for that - I haven't been checking; I will definitely move it to the top of my 'binge-watch' list as it's a fairly short series. Thanks again for the update. :)

I loved him in Cruel Romance - his character was so cheeky in a lot of it; a real lovable rogue. But my daughter (18) watched it too and said that she felt the tormented and broken part of his character was very real; so much so that it seemed to really make her sad. I tried to reassure her that I thought he was just a brilliant actor and he was so sweet and happy in interviews that it was unlikely to be the case. But she shook her head and said that even broken souls can wear happy masks. I am so, SO sad to see he was indeed a sad soul - I hope he is at peace now and his suffering is ended. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family at this terrible, tragic time. He is a big loss to the acting profession that much is certain. T_T

ANYTHING with Saito Takumi and I'm there; he's a superb actor, has a voice like liquid chocolate and is drop dead gorgeous - so for me 'Love like Fate' is a MUST-SEE.<3

I'm already watching 'Shopping King Louie'; the first episode was hilarious.....the butler chasing Seo In Guk with a disgusting health drink had me laughing out loud. If the rest of the series is as good, I think it'll rate up there with 'High School King of Savvy' for comedy alone.

My next must watch is The K2 because.....well, Ji Chang Wook AND action and romance - what's NOT to love?! :D Then I think I'll go for 'Stay with Me' and 'Soseki Natsume's Wife' because they just look interesting. :)
