I LOVE PUNCH! Such a heartwarming and just great movie with really good acting. It's not just a comedy; it's a real family feel good movie and it's just perfection! Great recommendation. And you can watch it on Netflix!
I think you named all my faves too except for The Devil and Nice Guy. It struck me funny seeing Tree with Deep Roots there because by the time I finished that one, I had forgotten all about the revenge part. There was just so, so much more to it thematically that the revenge seemed more like a vehicle to tell a much bigger, and better story. It's my favorite drama of all, though, so I guess I'm a bit biased.
You also reminded me again that I really really have to see TBDW if for no other reason than I deeply love Lee Jun Ki.
Cure for Byung Hee denial/withdraw...watch everything Lee Min Ki has ever done, which is what I have been trying to do ever since. Not that a lot of it isn't even all that good, but even when it is fairly bad, Lee Min Ki is always pure awesome!
After trying to watch Highkick (the one with Jung Il Woo) and just not being able to get through it, I'm once again trying my hand at a daily drama. I think I'll make it through this one because I plan on just taking it slowly and watching only when I feel like it (i.e. I have 30 mins to kill so not enough time to watch a 60 min Kdrama).
Also this has Lee Min Ki and Kang Ji Hwan (2 of my favorite actors) and one of my favorite actresses in Han Hye Jin. So, if I can't make it through this one, I give up on dailies forever. Since I could watch Lee Min Ki and Kang Ji Hwan read the phonebook and be happy, I'm sure I'll make it! So far I find it okay.
What a cute article! I've done most of these at some point or another. Thanks! I am currently doing the movie thing once I've watched all my currently running eps. And I've found there are so many great Asian movies and so little time!
Only 2: Dae Jang Geum and Jumong. I'm a sageuk junky.

Thanks for reading my comment! Based on what I've seen of ep 6 I think I am wrong. BUT if I had been right I don't necessarily think that Do Hwi and the others would have felt guilty too necessarily. Do Hwi clearly seems to be oblivious to other people's feelings where Dok Mi is very sensitive. I think Do Hwi could bully someone and not even realize she was doing it and that she hurt that person. So Do Hwi probably wouldn't feel guilty because she wouldn't realize she didn't anything wrong.

Thanks! I think you are right that they won't go that dark with this drama. But I'm anxious to see what the lie is because it feels like there has to be more than just being bullied. Dok Mi must somehow be culpable too not just a victim because she seems to feel guilty about something. All I know is that I can't wait to find out! I love this show sooooooo much!
I had been wondering how many eps it would be. I was hoping no more than 24. I just can't do a 50 ep family drama no matter how much I like Eugene and Lee Jung Jin (and I really, really like Lee Jung Jin). Bummer. I can't watch 50 eps of sageuk no problem because I like the fight scenes and history, but I don't have that kind of tolerance for family dramas. So I'm dropping this. Darn.
I agree with a lot of these, especially the couple in Full House. I found them so annoying that they actually contributed greatly to me really not liking that drama despite the pretty (Rain). But what I hated the most about them was how they made the lead female's character so horribly stupid and gullible right from the start that I hated her for the entire show! I mean I've seen some dumb, pushover female leads in Kdramas - but seriously, she is the queen of stupid.
However, why do people hate Yang Eun Bi so much? I've seen a lot of Yang Eun Bi hate over since FBRS came out and I don't get it. I've watched FBRS twice and while I find her a little goofy at times, I actually really like her. Especially how tough she was and how she rescued the guy at the end. I just don't get it?
What a charming, feel good movie! I loved it. If you have been crying because you watched a depressing drama or movie (and Korea has a lot of those), then this will make you smile! It's also the cure for "Fashion King-syndrome" (the ague you feel after you've watched Fashion King and started questioning the greatness that is Yoo Ah In and/or just seriously need to wash out your eyes).

Yeah, he hasn't starred in a drama since 2007 I think
(not counting the cameo in SUFBB). He does a lot of movies instead, but that's not enough screentime for me! Sometimes actors that have moved to movies come back a little (like Jang Dong Gun with Gentleman's Dignity). I can only hope--the more of Lee Min Ki's gorgeous face the better!

He is my favorite. I can't quite pinpoint why but I just am absolutely in love with him and will watch anything with him in it. I love his music too. His birthday was yesterday (my time, 1/16). I wish he would go back to doing dramas so I could see more of him. I was calculating today and I fear that he will probably have to do his mandatory military service very soon (I don't think he's done it yet). I will miss him so much!

Thanks! I put a lot of thought into writing it so I really appreciate your feedback! :)
I think that there are a couple dramas that I might enjoy more, but objectively speaking there is no better Kdrama than this one. It is brilliant, absolutely brilliant. This isn't just a drama - it's high art!
I couldn't disagree more about Sulli. UGH! I thought she was terrible in TTBY. I mean, TTBY is terrible too, but she could have improved it if she had an ounce of acting ability. I've watched lots of cross-dressing Kdramas but she was the first actress that I've seen who didn't even remotely try to adopt any male affectations, alter her voice at all or anything. Her performance was so unbelievable and blank that it actually managed to make an already absurd character even worse (and I wouldn't have thought that possible).
Instead of Sulli here, I would have Jung Eun Ji who was absolutely AMAZING in Reply 1997. I'd have Sulli in the "Bad" and tell her never to act again. Also, Siwon is fantastic in King of Dramas and definitely deserves to be moved to "Good." While he has yet to approve he can do dramatic acting, in my opinion, his comedic acting is a force to be reckoned with!
This is the second Kdrama I ever watched, after Dae Jang Geum. I know some people are scared off by long sageuks,…
I love Ji Jin Hee too! I'll watch basically anything with him and I too am watching The Great Seer because of him. Although, I am sticking with it even through its flaws. Somehow, I find it just compelling enough to keep watching. Go figure. It must be the beauty of Ji Sung that keeps me going.
