Where's Cleaning Fairy When You Need Them?
Clean with passion for now.... a drama that suffered many episodes being delayed and a story that had great potential but ultimately fell short. I would like to start off by saying this drama was enjoyable to watch however, its story and makeup isn't anything that the veteran drama watcher hasn't seen before. There was much "controversy" should I say, over Yoon Gyun Sang being cast as the main lead, with him being 12 years older than the female lead and not fitting the stereotypical "Kdrama main lead" look. Despite this Yoon Gyun Sang performed quite well in this drama, and I was left impressed with his performance. Kim Yoo Jung did good as well but, unfortunately what made both their characters fall short is lazy writing.
Story: 5.5
With mysophobia being the main theme of the drama it became almost an annoyance later on into the series. At first, watching Jang Sun Gyeol go through the very basic tasks of day-day life with his condition was interesting and funny at times, it even made me feel sympathy for his character. However, this is a romance drama and I felt like a lot of the romance aspects of the drama like going on dates, hugging, etc. were delayed to long, to the point were when it finally happened I was completely bored and disinterested. The main leads/characters did experience development but, it came out of nowhere with no explanation as to why they changed. This drama near the end also dragged out a sub-story for waaay too long and in all honesty could have been solved in a single episode. The only thing that kept me from dropping this was the bromance between the 3 cleaning employees at Sun Gyeol's company played by Kim Minkyu, Yang Hak Jin, and Cha In Ha.
Acting/Cast: 9.0
Acting was very good, delivered solid performances and made me feel emotions towards the characters despite the story making me want to bang my head against a wall sometimes. I don't think many people experienced sls but, I definitely did. Song Jae Rim did a great job at making the audience feel for him (and he's super cute lol). For the leads, Yoo Jung stole the show with being able to portray a character that had a (too wide) range of emotions.
Music: 8.5
Nice to listen to but nothing that took my breath away.
Rewatch: 3
Personally don't think I'll ever re watch this again and wouldn't particularly recommend it unless you have a lot of time on your hands or just want a typical comedy/romance drama.
Overall: 6.5
Wouldn't say you shouldn't not give this drama a try but, just be prepared to skip some scenes. If you want a drama that's pretty basic and something that can pass the time I'd recommend it but, other than that you're not missing anything.
