Why could I not find my love? The title actually gives you an idea what you should be expecting. If you are looking for a romance that makes you shed tears of happiness or sadness, this is NOT your drama. This drama more likely questions "love" based on three female characters in a realistic way.If you are a female you may find similarities to your life/emotions etc. If you are a male, it may make you understand a little about the other part.
Eventhough it is "realistic", the story still takes you in and is not boring. It is not like it is too exciting or something but somehow it is warm and calm so you just follow it peacefully.
The characters are pretty well thought and the actors all fit in perfectly. I always think the best acting is the one that you don't notice, so you can say everyone even supporting actors did perfect job.As a minus it has to be mentioned that the male characters were a little weak, but the actors somehow filled the void.
The opening theme along the insert songs are matching the concept very good as well. The intro of the drama is also well thought and along with the music it gives you hints about the characters.
To sum up, I do not think I will watch this drama again. Not because I did not like it but because the drama gave me something to think about and I do not think I'll forget it. Well it may not work the same for you though, so just consider this drama as a warm casual life drama, that will not addict you but probably pass your time.

The story of Shinsengumi and some of its members have been on screen various times. I think it can be said this Taiga drama summarizes the whole incidents and characters pretty good. For those who have no idea about Shinsengumi I shall mention that Shinsengumi is a so called police force made of some ronin who protect Kyoto City in the name of Shogun during the chatoic and bloody 1850-1860's when there was almost a civil war between The Shogunate (and its supporting clans) and the Imperialist Clans.(Choshu,Tosa, later Satsuma)Well the incidents and politics are a lot more complicated and full of twist and turns but the incidenst that have happened that time are a mile stone of todays modern(western) Japan.

The story of the drama is being told from Shinsengumi's perspective, and I felt like it was pretty fair. The only bad comment could be the pace and character developments, which were a little slow. There are no breath taking action scenes or tear jerker twist and turns, because the story more likely focuses on the caracters as well as the incidents. The acting is fairly executed since all the actors are pretty well experienced and well known. The music on the other hand was simply no good. I think especially the intro music is a complete failure. I do understand that they wanted to do something militar and heroic but to me it was simply annoying. Lastly,I recommend this drama not to those who want to watch a japanese version of "sageuk" but to those who want to know more about Japan's history lead by good actors and a little fiction to be more fastmoving. If you are interested, the rewatch value is higher and if not, than probably lower. Overall it was a good executed Taiga, which was a little slow and in my opinion a little sugar coated, but not boring and very educative.

As it was mentioned below this movie should not be considered in romance genre, nor do I recommend it to strong Hyun Bin fans. In other words this movie is definetly not Hallyu style.
The movie's story is about a man who has been hospitilized because of a mental illness and a nurse who is at the edge of a mental break down because of her sick father. I think, what happened between them can not be called love but more likely understanding each other / feeling each other, which was shown finely. The story is pretty plain-may be only a little above avarage-, and story telling follows by jumping between present and past.
The simple story is supported by very good acting, by not only Hyun Bin but all the actors. Still naturally Hyun Bin takes the lead.I could not stop myself applausing his acting, since he did not impress me, but perfectly convinced me that he is mental.
There is not much to say about the music since there wasn't too much music, except the end. It may be considered as a minus but I had the impression that it was knowingly done so, in order to support the feeling of the emptiness of life, as well as, the holes in caracters hearts.
Since the movie is definetly suffocating and depressevie I believe the re-watch value is lower than I rated.
Still I honestly liked the movie. As for shooting and acting it satisfied me a lot, and considering the story there was not a single moment when I did not think about the people around me or in the news who are fighting the same problems and end up exactly the same way that the caracters did. Overall I think it was a good movie but not for everyones taste.

What can be said about Baek Dong Soo?
It is certainly a great historical drama. It gives you a brief idea how the politics are working, along the daily life during the Joseon period, with very good costumes, make-up and setting.

I think most of the audience would probably agree with me that the story was good but definitely could be better...Not only the main male ones but all the characters are simply charming and it is also a fact the actors have very good chemistry but there was something that bothered me. First, the female characters/actors appeared to be a little weak or even dull. Second, Yoo Seung Hoo/ Yeo Won is simply too perfect. Like most of the audience I fell in love with the character and the actor. I wonder if this is a minus...

And the music...That is another story...I basically fell in love with the music. It fit the period, charackters, story, everything.

To sum up, Musa Baek Dong Soo is a very good historical drama that would not waste your time. The pace may sometimes get a little slower but don't lose hope, it is definitely worth to watch till the end, because of its competetive story, epic music, and suprising acting.

That is an interesting drama. This drama is basically about obsession, revenge, may be also exaggerated desire. If you are looking for an action oriented revenge tearjerker drama, you shall GIVE UP on this one. The story is acceptable and speaking of this drama I guess that is a good thing. I really liked it that they did not force the story to become something epic. Nothing new, nothing too complicated, simply ok. Many of you may even find it boring. But I did not, beacuse I really liked the acting. All the caracters were convincing and the actors also fit their role. You do not even notice their act, for what I always give a 10. Matsuyama on the other hand, was...? I do not know may be creepy? May be because he is a natural sulky person, or his acting talent is gorgeous, either way he is the main component. There is nothing to say about the music, I barely remember it, and I also think that rewatch value is probably lower than I rated. But I strangely liked this drama. It really shows how people can turn into slaves of their emotions, desires and ignorance. I also think that the drama is pretty succesfull because even there is nothing spectecular other than Matsuyama, when I think about the drama I have a depressive, suffocating, wrathful feeling. Well it may not work the same for you. I do NOT sorely recommend you this one. Give it a try and see your self.

A good movie. This phrase basically sums up the hole review.
Lately I have become interested in Yoo Seung Hoo and that was why I picked this movie. Did not expect too much, but it turned out pretty good.
Blind is a thriller, it's not scary but the thrill makes you watch it to the end. The story is catchy, and does not dissapoint you.The characters are well thought and the actors fulfill their job pretty good as well. I also liked the harmony between two main characters/actors. Another plus is probably the setting and the light. The dark aura of the movie somehow takes you into the plot but does not make you feel depressed. Shame that the music was not good enough to support the acting and the story. If the music would be better, I guess the movie would be more succesfull.
If you would like to watch it again? I guess not.
So why am I recommending it? Well If you are bored of cheesy love stories or blood covered thrillers, this your movie, to pass time.
Basically it is a good movie.

PS: I definitely admired the solutions the Koreans have found for disabled people...Two thumbs up...

A review for those who do not like melodramas;

Well I am one of those who really does not like melodramas, still I think one should always give credit for a well done job. So here is a review for those who fear this genre as well as the reputation of the drama.

The Princess' man basically deals with love, friendship and family bonds. The story is pretty good.It is fluent and keeps you on the edge in every episode. Since this is a melodrama the story is a little exaggerated still I think it was acceptable. The caracters are compatible with the story, as well as the actors themselves. I guess most of the audience have fallen for Park Shi Hoo in his black suit like I did but I think all the leads even the side actors did a very good job. There were one or two scenes where I doubted Park Shi Hoo's acting but I forgave him since he was so cool. Still I am a little confused abaout the caracter developments/changes. I think they were brutaly radical but that is also why you will keep watching. Though I think it was the music that made me watch the drama. The OST is basically no good. The songs are ok but they just do not get you into the drama. The background music on the other hand, is another story. The highly manupulating and addictiv songs "Destino" and "Vola" with their perfect synchronization in the story give you the real feeling of the Princess' Man and raise the re-watch value even if you exactly know what will happen in the end.
Overall I think the Princess' Man is a very good production which probably deserves the first place in his genre. Even if I do not like this kind of stories much, I must confess I enjoyed it to the end. Since it helped me a lot, to distract me from my casual routine I do not think it was a waste of time...

Lastly here comes a warning, I think it is a real challenge to pass the first 8 episodes. Though, if you are patient enough, you will not realize how you reached the end.

Fine executed. As most of you would know Holy Land is an adaptation of the manga Holyland. This adaptation is not the best but also not the worst, simply ok. I must confess I chose this drama because of its poster. I simply liked the dark colours, and concerning the setting, lights and shooting it satisfied me a lot. I'd give simply a 10 for that. I would like to give another 10 for the story, but that goes for the story of the original manga. It may not work the same with you but personally I like this kind of stories. But for the story of this drama, I gave an 8, because there were some gaps, not about the incidents but particullary about the characters. Still do not lose hope, you do not miss the core of them. About the music, there is nothing too much to tell, I barely noticed it. Still I think if you like this kind of stories the rewatch value is pretty high. Lastly I can not stop myself to compare this adaptation with the japanese version. I think the korean one has better shooting but the japanese one has better storytelling where you feel the characters a little better. For both of them I would say there could be better acting though. And again for both I must give credit that they were explaining the moves of fights very well. Overall I liked this drama, it was fine executed and was not a waste of time. Though especially for those who have not read the manga I would recommend to watch the japanese version too. Can not say it was better or worse but somehow both of the dramas left a different taste in my mouth eventhough they are telling the same story.

Edit: I am re-watching this now, and I wonder where my mind was when I was watching it first time. May be it was because I was impressed more with fights than the music. The intro along with backgrounds, the music is definitely above average. It is mainly based on rock and electro, not epic but perfectly fitting. My apologies for not being careful enough before.

Trying to be fair, I'll split this review in two parts;

for those who have no idea about Kenshin...To begin with what are you doing here? just go and watch the anime and ova's, read the manga! But if you insist: Kenshin is a good movie. Cinematography, costumes, and action is above (very above) avarage. The dialogues can give you an idea about the period, which is a milestone in japanese history and caracters as well as actors are eye-catching. The weak point is unfortunately the story telling, which is a little too slow but I do not think you will get bored because of the beautiful shooting, peaceful colours and fitting music.

for fans...I know you are scared to watch this one, but be brave, I do not think you'll regret it. I totally fell in love with action scenes, costumes, colours as well as Takeru's own Kenshin interpretation. At first I thought it was different/ odd but somehow Takeru convinced me ...(wish he could be a little older) There were one or two scenes where I could barely see Megumi's fox ears, and Yahiko's wide open eyes.Unlike most of the people even Kaouru was ok. If you can accept the changes in the plot, which they wrapped very professionally, the only problem left is the pace which depends on your patience...Overall I think it was a very good movie with a different interpretation of Kenshin's story nicely sugar coated with nice costumes, amazing sword fights and harmonious scenery.
ps: I can not bring myself to write about Saito and Aoshi, it really hurts....

Chaser is a good movie with a weak story. Before I say bad things about the story I must confess I am a little confused. If the motive of the movie was to thrill and entertain people than it failed, but if the motive was to give a message, well it shows pretty good how the police force works in Korea. I think the idea of the story was actually pretty good and that was what attracted me but it was full of gaps and voids, that it lost its credibility. I found myself many times saying that a police investigation definitely can not be like this, and I am not talking about the rude behaviour, more like the system and logic of it. The acting on the other hand was pretty good. It was not gorgeous, but it was well done. There was not a remarkabe soundtrack as well but the background music was also fitting. What I really liked about the movie was the shooting. The dark colours, setting, lights they were considered together. Again they were not gorgeous but it was like they all matched together so the filming was convincing, but there were a few unnecessary and long scenes. To sum up Chaser is technically a good movie with an average story. I do not think it will impress you but would probably pass your time.

Battle Royale is a must watch...Well may be should watch. Not because it is hillarious but because of its existence. The story is pretty harsh and bloody. It is almost insane, but I think it is knowingly done so, to be more impressive. If you are a little into J-drama you will probably recognize some of the actors and you will realise how much they have improved, and the movie will show you that they had the talent to begin with. The music unfortunately, is not remarkable at all.As about the cinematography I am a little confused. The murder and killing scenes were not convincing, but as I have mentinoed before I had the feeling it was knowingly done so.Well another reason may be because the movie is an early work (Today, 2000 can be called early I guess)On the other hand the scene where they explain the rules of the game did convince me that the director knew exactly what he was doing. So much for the analysis...What most impressed me in this movie is the idea...It really made me think about the japanese society...I think they are really concerned about their youth, to an extent of fear. Having such a movie in their media feels like that they have real fears for their future, that they are not happy about the growing youth and they are looking for some answers what to do with them. Well, what a little more scary and alarming is, the value of life.It looks like they are about to lose it.Or may be they are afraid to lose it? I don't know...I jumped to these conclusions /questions after I watched "The confessions" and "Ikigami,The Ultimate Limit" along with Battle Royale.
To sum up Battle Royale is a good movie for its period not because of its acting or any other cinematographic value, but because of the idea behind it.

Bad Guy is probably one of the most beloved Korean Dramas, so I decided to write a review about why you may not like it...Well the basic reason for that is probably the story. It definitely has a catchy and confusing story but from some point on you keep thinking that it is too exaggerated. There is revenge, love, murder, sadness, passion, obsession, guilt, conceit, conspiracy etc. It's just too much, to that point that it loses its credibility. I had the feeling you can bring out 2 or 3 dramas from the story. As for acting, I think it was well executed.Kim Nam Gil will definietly charm you, but the acting of the Kim Hye Ok and Shim Eun Kyung will also catch your eye, well may also your ear :)The Ost was also good. It suited the drama, but I always had the feeling that it is a little similar to City Hunter's. It is definietly not the same, but you just get the feeling. The cinematography is avarege, it is neither good nor bad, but there were definetly, long and unnecessary scenes.I am a little angry to this drama, because I hoped it would be sentimental and thrilling, but somehow I was lost in the whole plot.
Still I watched all 17 episodes, and when you begin, probably you will too...Why? Because you probably like Kim Nam Gil and Kim Jae Wok, not only because they are handsome but also would be interested in their caracters...You will probably be curious about the reason of the revenge. Well I was more curious how much more the plot could be exaggareted. You also will probably like the OST. (no bad comments here)
Overall, when I finished the drama there was only one thing in my mind... I really hope they paid the actors well, because it must be very tiresome for them...

Based on a true story The Case of Itaewon Homicide contains the touch of the real life. I think it is somehow ironic to say that story was "good". Well it was good, or let's say the story was told good. The setting and costumes were not particularly eye-catching but they do not distract you either, and the movie was directed in way that takes you in the story. Nothing particular for the music though. But there is "acting".Well eventhough I watched other dramas of him, to me it was the first time I saw Jang Geun Seok acting, and I liked it. That is all for technical critics.A few words about the movie...The movie is not heartstopping/exciting or a geniusly designed crime movie because it is real life related, and no murder can be exciting in real life. Morelikely it causes you a stomach ache, thinking about what a life worth is, what it means to be foreigner/delinquent/minorty/bad guy and the term justice.

I usually watch pretty everything without expecting too much, but I waited for this one for two reasons; 1: Oh Yeon Seo , 2: Hong Sisters. Oh Yeon Seo was in my radar after her acting in Please Come Back Mister. Hong Sisters have been always in my radar because I like their indescribable touch in their stories.

A Korean Odyssey had a very promising and exciting storyline, but there certainly were flaws...For instance; I can understand, that for many people the last episodes were the flaws itself. But I actually think it was pretty well wrapped up. It could be different, or may not be for everyone's cup of tea but still, to me it was just ok.

Honestly, it was the caracters and the acting that made me wait for 20 episodes. I totally fell in love with the double sided caracters, and their acting.... Their dialogues, their humour, their expressions, their actions, supports and betrayals always had the touch of the representative animal. As for Jin Sun Mi...I could always see, that no matter how grown up she is, she was simply an alone, scared teenager, surrounded by the monsters, who can not dare to trust anyone but deeply wishes to do so... To me the best acting is the one, that you do not notice and the actors literally wore their caracter.

The music was just good. I would not call it epic but it definietly was fitting, especially the ending song Let Me Out, with some lyrics giving a hint of the story but with some sound that does not depress you,

The humour....Well humour is something that varies, but to me it was epic ..The small references to real life, quotes or songs, a very cute zombie.. I litearally enjoyed them. Somehow I always had an absurd humour-vibe like I had in Gintama....

Overall I would call A Korean Odyssey a good told fairy tale. The caracters, the acting, the dialogues, the storyline , the music and even the love-story , they all complement and fit with each other perfectly.
