There's many plot hole

I just finished it until 24th eps. The beginning was sooooo GOOD. The melodrama vibes, the story and their acting. It was gave me butterfly in my stomach when finally Nian Qin fell in love with Wu Yan.

BUT

It was change until they broke up and Nian Qin not blind anymore, maybe start from 13rd eps. Suddenly I feel upset because WHY from this eps. there was SO many plot hole. Many stories wasn't explanated specifically until I'm like..... eh? while watching this.

Then, too many repetition tho from every scene, like Nian Qin too often hug Wu Yan lol I even not feel this scene is sweet anymore so sorry :(

Wayyyy too overhyped

I somewhat enjoyed this drama, especially during the first few episodes but after a while it just starts falling flat. I understand that the cases are a big part of the show but it started feeling like they were focusing way too much time on them to the point that all the other plot points and character development of the other characters (except Youngwoo's) were being left to the side. Like, the Tae sumi's and the Hanbada CEO rivalry??? like we dont even know why on earth she hates tae su mi so much???

Also the other characters, why dont we know a single thing about the main character's love interest, Junho? Like alright, he's sweet and caring but that's literally it. He doesn't have a plot he's just there being Youngwoo's boyfriend who ocassionally has to deal with other people being ableist towards her and get mad on her behalf, while she just passively stands there not knowing what to do even though she's a 27 year old woman who has had to deal with all of this and more for her entire life. And that's another problem i have which is that we never see her standing up for herself, and the only time we do is because Suyeon literally told her what to do and say to Min woo, and then he continued being an asshole to her who out of nowhere got something of a badly done redemption arc???? And he didn't even start trying to be nice beacause he reflected and realized he was being a piece of shit, it was literally because Suyeon liked him and he wanted to be the type of guy she liked, which is ridiculous.

There's a lot of other things that i have problems with in this show, specially the fact that the main premise of it its a very stereotypical portrayal of autistic people, with the whole genius and perfect memory thing and other things in general, but overall, yes, i still pretty much enjoyed the show but i feel like the people reviewing it on here are being way too nice about it and making it out to be something that it's not.

What a delightful watching experience! An emotional long road trip in a vintage scarlet red Honda S800 sport car.
The drama is though slow-paced and relaxed, yet it was an enthralling and intriguing and very touching story. The drama is beautifully filmed and the director took great care in showing beautiful and serene scenery throughout the drama, and with the superb acting of main cast and great supporting cast.
Retracing back history in search of answers of mystery, and what would be uncovered was a journey well-traveled through stages of loss, grief, reconciliation, revelations, human connection and life lessons with tears, laughter and love built in the end.
A great potential hidden gem drama that I've ever watched. Highly recommended for anyone who loves slice of life drama.

i never give high ratings, you can look at my watched list and you will notice. This one kept me interested until the last episode. i loved the fact that they kept the story line complicated till the very end. i loved the fact the played with the whole concept. The acting was spot on, i loved the seriousness  of the whole drama yet it has its tear jerking moments and its comedic relief in certain areas. This series was something unique in its story line. i will definitely re-watch it again in a very near future.  This has made lots of other Korean drama pail in comparison

Sweet combat was a great drama, I loved it since the first episode and I really recommend it for people who like to watch something funny. The characters are very cute and each of them had their own style which made the drama really enjoyable to watch. The actors as well supplied my expectations and the OST of the drama was very satisfactory. Since the drama has 30 episodes I thought at first, that maybe it would be boring to watch it but I was wrong, every episode gave me new emotions, so yeah I hope you guys enjoy the drama like me

Nobuta wo Produce~ a great jdrama.

Story- The storyline revolves around 2 boys and a girl, where the girl has closed herself off from the outside world and the two boys just don't really fit into their school and they decide to give her a makeover, "produce" her into the most popular girl at school. Its a fun idea with great moments. The drama is fun and quirky for the most part, showing emotional scenes whenever necessary. For a while, I copied "Nobuta's power.... Activate!" just because it was cute.

Acting/Cast- What makes this drama is the trio of stars that play the leads, Maki-chan, Kamenashi Kazuya and Yammapi. Alone, each star has the potential to make a great drama, and together, they show their capabilities. I actually didnt recognize Maki-chan in this at first(I know, I didnt read the cast list, blahh), but seeing her change from the quirky character of Hana Kimi into a dark, and pessimistic girl is a complete turnaround. Kame has also released a few of his own dramas, in my opion, the best being Tatta Hitotsu no Koi.
And Yammapi has been in many dramas such as Kurasagi, Dragon Zakura, so on and so forth. With such talented leads, its bound to be good.

Music- I dont know why, but music in jdramas never really stick to me unlike kdramas. Im pretty sure Kat-tun or Arashi sang the songs for this drama, so it'll be popular within japan/ fans of the two bands.

Rewatch? Hmm, I don't know about the rewatch. Maybe just a few scenes that were memorable but thats about it.

this drama full with cuteness and heartwarming and make me learn about family more. you can see 3 main cast with great acting, first Ashida Mana who's act as older twin with strong personality outside but so weak inside after that Suzuki Fuku who's act as younger twin who's cute and quite childish but so pure in his heart, and don't forget amazing Abe Sadao.

First of all I loved the actors/actress.. it was a very good cast..The first few episodes was okay.  Then it got to where I was speed watching to watching every other two.  I have watch many many dramas, this is the first one that has frustrated me to the point that I don't even recommend it to anyone to watch.  Honestly I don't even remember much about the music which is the first for me because that is the first thing I remember about a drama.  They should not have drag this drama out for 124 episodes.  I hoping the cast finds another drama that is worthy of them.

Positive:
+ Great chemistry between the couple
+Excellent acting from the two main leads
+Full of romantic moments
+Character development for our 2 lead roles but only after the drama progresses a lot
+At some point they tried to make it "serious " . Especially close the end
Negative:
- Very simple and weak plot (interesting only after episode 33)
-A lot of plot holes but the incredible romance keeps you on-going and makes the drama deserve 8/10 !
***It took me 2-3 episodes to get hooked***

RHGHR is easily one of my favourite dramas of this year. I loved my Wednesdays and Thursdays, coming home to this. There is much to be praised, but there were some shortcomings as well.

First of all, I have to congratulate this drama for giving us a strong female lead in a historical drama, that was essential to the plot until the end. I often see in sageuk dramas, that the female starts strong and towards the end, she just lets everyone else handle the situation. This was not the case here, which made me very happy.

The theme of keeping history was very strong and even though it seemed laughable at the beginning, when they spoke about it so pathetically, the message was well received and important in the age of fake news and "believing opinions rather than facts". Massive thumbs up from me.

Other strength of RHGHR was in developing minor characters and various themes within the drama. The whole historian gang was so awesome, I am going to think about them a lot. Lee Ji Hoon shined here, as well as
Sung Ji Ru (him screaming "Mámáááá!" all the time was the funniest thing ever). The leads were cast very well, I enjoyed their performances and loved the fact, that the female lead was older than the male lead.

The additional episodes didn't feel as empty, as they usually do in other dramas. They saved quite enough agency, so it was still quite dynamic but I personally feel like some of the characters were not quite themselves and even though they tried to present it as a development, it just rubbed me the wrong way. The tempo was also a bit distorted and although I loved the first three quarters of the drama, it became a chore for me to finish it.

Nevertheless, I had so much fun, laughed aloud a lot and enjoyed myself. Good riddance, Goo Hae Ryung and please, just dip the brush in ink sometimes.

Must watch.

This was surprisingly good. I really loved it. I was hesitant based on the synopsis but I’m glad that I watched it. It was very unique. The storyline was one that I’d never seen so I was definitely always wondering what would happen. I think the build up was good. There were few and short lived misunderstandings. Things were cleared up well and the ending was great.

Bold ML and a clever FL. The chemistry was one scene which made it even better.

You’ll get the obsessive person, the scheming person, the vengeful person, the deceiver, the lover, the chemistry, loyalty, brotherhood, good fight scenes and I do mean gooood. ML was a beast. Love, love, loved it.

JUST DON'T DO IT. First of all they made the very big mistake of airing this along side Kill Me, Heal Me (brilliant drama btw). Secondly the writing made absolutely no sense what to ever. 85% of the drama was spent chasing a freaking criminal that could have been caught by ep 4 then you factor in the very annoying a female lead that pisses you off with every move she makes. then the other 15% was just pure bullshitry for the lack of a better word.

The drama was doomed to fail from the beginning. As it progressed the episodes got harder and harder to sit through and by episode 15 i was at my wits end with it. The 2 characters being played by Hyun Bin were annoying too. I don't think there was a likable character in this drama.

The acting made me want shed tears. It was that horrible ugh.
writing= 0
acting = -2
characters= -10
waste of time= PRICELESS (I WANT MY TIME BACK)

Final thought is that this is yet another drama that was a complete waste of time....And im a fan or Hyun Bin

A Perfectly Written and Directed Thriller/Suspense Drama with Versatile Acting!

As a Yoo Seung Ho’s die-hard fan, I had been waiting for this drama to air since the casting news last year.

Here are my thoughts about this drama, divided into 3 categories:

1. The Plot

I haven’t found a truly good thriller/suspense Kdrama for a while (I was in a Kdrama slump for almost 2 years). Just like why Yoo Seungho picked up this drama, one of the reasons I decided to watch it is also out of ‘curiosity’.

This kind of plot is quite unusual (as expected from Yoo Seungho’s dramas, most of the time). Kidnapping a FRIEND for ransom money? I’m totally bought!

And this drama gave me the tense that I needed. Every episode ends with scenes that left me feeling shocked and intrigued. It reminds me of Yoo Seungho’s previous thriller drama, “Memorist”, in some ways, especially the camera movements.

2. The Character-Building

I love that every character, from main to side characters, have their own roles that are useful to the story development. Nothing feels unnecessary. Then again, it’s only 8 episodes. I don’t think there’re rooms for fillers.

The main characters make me feel what they feel, especially Lee Junseong (Yoo Seungho). His life is so miserable that it pains my heart to watch his parts. He still has a pure soul though he has been tested a lot in his life.

Song Jaehyo (Kim Donghwi), how he starts to be out of his rational mind when his whole life depends on the money. We can’t help but pity him because of his poor situations.

Park Minwoo (Yoo Soobin), he was used to being taken advantage of for money since high school. He’s physically weak, and people see him as a fool, when in fact he’s not. He has a kind heart and trusts people that treat him good.

3. The Acting

YOO SEUNG HO. The authentic, versatile, and trustworthy actor that he is. His eye acting, his facial expressions, his body movements, his voice control in every situation, how he shifts from action to emotional scenes. Smooth. PERFECT!

Of course, I will not discredit other actors, especially Yoo Soobin and Kim Donghwi. They amaze me the most at scenes that show their ‘desperation’. Yoo Soobin’s cries when he was begging to be spared. Kim Donghwi’s voice intonation when his mind becomes more distorted.

So yes, I am truly satisfied with everything about this drama, so far.

I genuinely hope that it will end on a high note, though I am curious about the ending and how their friendship will become after the whole kidnapping events.

Thoroughly dissapointing

Hear me out.
If I watched this show 4 or 5 years ago I would be impressed and would've probably given it a 9 or something. After all, "serious" shows with a dark undertone are somewhat rare in the kdrama landscape yet they're my absolute favorite thing to watch. Shows like Stranger and Signal tick all my boxes: Serious, investigative, no random forced love tropes, some subtle humor between the characters at times without ruining the seriousness, etc etc. Through the Darkness follows this pattern, so I should adore this show right? Right?

Well, here's where my problems with it come in. This show is essentially a way, way worse Mindhunter. Where Mindhunter is one of the best shows ever made, masterfully painting real world killers on your screen, showing how the earliest forms of profiling took form, how the agents came to certain conclusion, Through the Darkness also attempts to do this exact formula, and misses the mark on literally all of these points.

The killers are just your typical edgy skinny dudes who are angry and evil, the start of profiling in Korea apparently boils down to "I know you're smart, here's an American book, let's catch baddies", and the way the "genius" profiler comes to conclusions during cases in this show is just straight up laughable cause he always just magically solves the case cause he's just so smart.

I tried loving this, I really did. The first couple episodes I thought this was on track to be my next big kdrama love, but it then rapidly dawned on me that this was just laughable. I know comparing it to a show like Mindhunter which has a budget so big that even Netflix didn't wanna invest in it anymore, and a genius director like Fincher is maybe a bit harsh, but while watching this show it's clear how much inspiration they took from it, yet executed things you don't even need a huge budget for so annoyingly bad, that I just can't recommend this show.

If you like darker kdramas I guess you could give it a shot and see for yourself, the vast majority of other reviewers did seem to like it, but I will take the liberty to say that the average reviewer on this website, me 3+ years ago included, rates mediocre shows way too high compared to other websites.

5/10, dropped after 7 and a half episodes cause I just can't be bothered spending my free time on this any longer.

Shen Yue one of a Good actress so far at a young age?

She really is a good actress even tho it’s a remake and a lot of viewers already know the story behind those episode but they give the best version. To be honest
she’s cute and at the same time pretty no need a high filter on screen or make up.I love her natural beauty
and natural acting. Hoping to see her in more original drama or C-costume drama.??????????????????????????????????????????
