A comfort show

First I would like to say, dont go into it looking for plot that goes in depth, you wont find it with the time crunch of 2 eps per couple just pull back your expectations and you'll enjoy it just fine. My ranking for each story is as follows (my opinion):

8.5 + 8.5: TueAke's story I loved their chemistry, bit messy at parts but I was still able to enjoy it with a smile.

4 + 6: SunNuea I personally couldn't stop cringing their first episode, don't really think the aggressively flirty fits Nat in my opinion and Max as the shy tutor was just weird for me. Their second episode was better in terms of acting and the script but it was still just alright for me.

8.5 + 9: TeamMon is another of my top faves, their story was really interesting and the acting was great, made me emotional in their second episode so I enjoyed it more. I commend Korn for playing such a bashful character, must've not been easy and Gung with the changed playboy, loved his acting.

8 +10 PaoThur: Omg their story moved me so much, their acting was amazing, their plot really grabbed me. I was very much invested in them. They left me wanting more. I applaud Pee and Au with their amazing chemistry.

8.5+9.5: KaengPuth: Some things were unclear but were answered in their special episode, so be sure to check it out. Perfect chemistry, amazing acting. Nothing else to say besides, I pray Toru and First get their own series.

8.5 +7.5 ChokeSat: I was honestly enjoying their story and did but it somehow fell apart for their second story, it felt rushed so I rated it lower than their first. I did enjoy Ton and Jaab's chemistry they were just given a complicated storyline to work with but made it work how they could. I also just never understood the purpose of the language swap besides for entertainment, I suppose.

9.5+9 HiaMasuk/Tir: Tears, pain and bittersweetness. Definitely the deeper plotline that I personally loved. Being familiar with Lay, Yoon and Perth; I was prepared for their level of acting and of course they didn't disappoint me. Where as the writing is what fell at parts concerning Tir. It was a beautiful story about not living in the past and moving on from what can't be changed.

9 Everyone: Pure fluff and I loved it. Not a huge fan about Tir's fate but I get they wanted Perth around for the last episode, the rest was adorable and had me smiling non-stop.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to bring them comfort after a long day.

The Monkey King 2 takes place 500 years after the Havoc in Heaven, a sequel to The Monkey King starring Donnie Yen. In this film Aaron Kwok plays the hairy hero to good effect. The Monkey King 2 boasts a strong cast with Feng Shao Feng as a righteous monk and Gong Li as a deadly and deadly alluring demon. The story didn't always serve them well but it was entertaining.

When a bumbling monk accidentally unleashes the Monkey King, Sun Wu Kong is given the task by the goddess of accompanying the monk to a temple and retrieving some holy scriptures. If he accomplishes the task his binding golden crown will be removed. Standing in their way is the White Bone Demon played to perfection by the ethereal Gong Li. She has several creepy demons to help her and if you have a fear of snakes, best to avoid this movie or use the fast forward button in some scenes. Another triggering thing is the death of children and torturing of children, let the viewer beware.

This version of the Monkey King is the most understated I have seen, and to be honest a relief. Some actors take their monkey performance over the top. Maybe all those years trapped in the Five Elements Mountain gave Wu Kong time to reflect. I quite enjoyed Kwok's performance which was emotionally compelling even through the hair and makeup. Sheng's monk could be overly righteous at times but did bring up the ethics of killing even when it meant self-preservation.

The side-kicks weren't fully developed though Pigsy did give some comic relief. And the big blue guy, Sand Demon Sha Wujing got to show his stuff in a battle with a near endless supply of skeleton warriors. As I've stated previously Gong Li made the White Bone Demon a formidable and believably malevolent villainess.

Sammo Hung choreographed the fight scenes and the high flying fighting was right up his alley. This was wire-fu on steroids but also quite fun and visually interesting. When dealing with an array of demons and other supernatural characters in a fantasy film the super-powered fighting made sense.

The sets, costumes, and CGI were all top notch. The final battle was creative and something to behold. The drawbacks for me, were some lulls in the story and an ending scene that put the onus on the Monkey King to kill when throughout the entire movie, the righteous monk had berated him for killing even to save lives. I enjoyed this Monkey King more than most in this genre, even with its flaws it was an entertaining movie.

age gap romance, pining since childhood

A high school student pursues the man of his dreams who happens to run a laundromat in this classic age gap BL. This drama has a 10 year age gap so if that wigs you out, don't watch it. I happen to LOVE age gap romances.

Minato’s Laundromat is so steeped in yaoi tropes and archetypes, not to mention a typical romance arc, that it will be an overload for some, but those of who love this genre for its DNA will adore it. It made me very happy because it did everything I want a BL to do, and there’s not much more I ask of a show than this. It’s the closest Japan has come to perfect live action yaoi since Seven Days.

I do want to kill you very, very much, cut your limbs to feed the crocodiles. But I can’t do that.

Welcome to the hilarious plot about almighty and powerful devil being bound with a weak and dim-witted fairy, whom he wishes to kill very much, but can’t since her pain equals his pain – quite literally.

Plot: 8
_______________________________
★★★★★ Main idea:
--> Intriguing, pretty original and hilariously funny. I found hilarious the contrast of a powerful devil being grounded by a little fairy and his frustration over this turn of events.
_______________________________
★★★★☆ Logic:
--> Plot makes sense, there are a few dumb twists, but it can be easily forgiven.
_______________________________
★★★★☆ Pace:
--> I started to get bored in the third quarter of the story. It was simply dragged for a bit too long by the end and the story lost the continuity, but it can be easily forgiven.
_______________________________
★★★★☆ Impression:
--> Impressed.
_______________________________
★★★★☆ Skip rate:
--> I skipped some of the side plots, but not much.
_______________________________
★★★☆☆ Annoying factors:
--> I hated the love triangle with the war god – for the love triangle to work, the opponents should have at least equally strong personalities. But god of war is weak, backing down from his brother and has a mouthful of bullshit, instead of admitting, he maybe should have taken a strong stand before he had lost what he loved.

Characters: 9,5
_______________________________
★★★★★ Lead 1 - Dongfang Qing Cang:
--> Loved this character. Although it’s a typical prototype of a strong male lead, who has to give up a lot of humanity to become a strong leader, I like the way he is gradually learning to love and to allow himself being loved.
_______________________________
★★★★★ Lead 2 - Orchid:
--> Loved this character. She is naïve and child-like, but loyal and strong minded. She is unable of treason and once she makes a decision, she stays strong in her opinion.
_______________________________
★★★★★ Overacting:
--> Kind of cute.
_______________________________
★★★★★ Acting:
--> Actors are great, very talented. I particularly loved the job Dylan Wang made in playing the naïve Orchid in the body-swap parts.
_______________________________
★★★★☆ Annoyance level:
--> Annoyed by some side characters, particularly the heavenly lord and his brother god of war. The heavenly lord should have been a strong and wise leader, but he has zero personality, just forcing his narrow-minded opinions on others.

Background: 10
_______________________________
★★★★★ Soundtrack:
--> Absolutely loved it.
_______________________________
★★★★☆ Visuals (camera, scenery, visual effects, ...):
--> Really liked it.
_______________________________
★★★★★ Wardrobe (costumes, hairstyles, makeup, ...):
--> Absolutely loved it.

Rewatch value: 7,5
I assess this value based on impression, skip rate, annoyance level and overall preference.

Final verdict: 8,5
I really liked the chemistry between the leads. I loved their evolvement and the funny little plots between them. Some of the episodes by the end were a bit boring, since there was an uninteresting plot dragged for too long and the ending was a bit sheepish, but it’s still definitely a drama worth watching.

Yet another BL with less plot more NC scenes

The plot ? Did we have any , this series was all about "they met, they slept".
Do makers think love making scenes are all that bl fans need, What fans truly need is a plot that makes sense, great chemistry, cute love story , proper communication, ofcourse good amount of NC scenes are like icing on the cake. Wait, am i asking for more😜

What i hated and just could'nt get over was Punn's screen presence, he is sooo immature, creepy and non sensical. And Ashi , ok he is a superstar who lacked love but what he lacked the most was human communication.
I am not doubting the actors acting skills ,but at places the leads acting felt out of place especially Ja , felt like he is not for younger roles.

We could see great chemistry between Ja & first in NC scenes and the rest was filled with just some series in a series scenes , manager's quarrelling and unnecessary not so worthy scenes

And ya almost missed this, second couple? Nahhh , they were just 2 people who liked sleeping with each other, Show me one scene where they tried to get to know more about each other. None !!!

If you ship JaFirst, watch it . You'll get to see great NC scenes between them , but dont expect any logical scenes or plot . Only then, you'll like this for sure.

Father Is Too H*rny To Notice What His Son Needs

Premise is interesting about time travelling so the father can save his son from the impending suicide.

Let's go with the negative first. While it is an eye-opener about teenagers having suicide and the lack of parent's understanding of their child, I don't get the point of the father using sex as a tool to save his son. He had sex with all the guys in the story, except his son and the man who controls time. Sure he is desperate, and did everything in his power, but I think too much time travelling made him a whore. In one of the timelines, in the attempt to save his son, the son even sees his own father having sex with his boyfriend like WTF. Talk about a mental damage on the son's part.

Some scenes cringed me with the sub-par acting. Although the actor who plays the father, son, and time man did okay. The others? Drowned to oblivion. They are like reading the script while the camera is rolling.

Now the positive side of the drama, acting is good, and the overall message of the series is great! However, I think the conflict can be solved quickly and the drama can be cut in less-than an hour, if only the father investigate first the source of his son's suicide instead of jumping to conclusions.

Music is repetitive and dull. They use the same sounds in the sex scenes and the suicide scenes. Oh, did I mention that it is flat, mundane. and prosaic? Yes I know I use words with almost the same meaning, which makes me more creative than the repetitious music that they used.

Overall, it's not a horrible film. The muddled execution is the problem why it didn't achieve it's potential. Take this with a grain of salt, watch it and be your own judge.

Sweet, fun, lovable, the buddies may not all be good but the main couple is the sweetest

" We can´t change the world, but we can let the world not change us"
(Or something like that)

This drama is su cute, it may have a bunch of cliches but is fun, well paced, easy to binge with mostly lovable characters and just a lot of fun. though I did start this wondering if the guys where students or gangsters and well the testosterone levels seemed a bit high and yes I did want to send half of the cast to anger management or keep them a way from society... the low start for those characters did give way for some pretty good and well written character development. But it was pretty clear that the buddies where the bad ones,..

The main couple here is fun, bickering, competitive, playfull, supportive and is just a blast to watch making it hard not to fall for them as well as root for their love...

There is also a pretty sweet lesbian side couple that may have a bit to little screen time but would make a great spin off...

The cinematography is ok, some of the views are gorgeous and the songs will weele you in and set the mood pretty well.

All in all definitely one of the better romcoms out there...

This movie will touch you! It will leave you speechless and for the next few days you will be thinking about some scenes you saw in this movie.

The storyline is very good, the saddest thing here is that this movie wasn't made up or scripted. No, this movie was made because it really happend. The acting in this movie is amazing, ecxpecially the children. Damn they made it so believe-able, the emotions, the silinces just everything.

I gave the rewatch value a 9, but I won't rewatch is. This movie was really heavy. That is what it made so great, they didn't coverd things up, they showed it how it really happend. The only time I'll watch this movie is when someone will ask me to watch it with them.

Overall is this a must-see movie, I'd recommend it but you have got to be strong to watch this. It's not for the faint hearted people.

Something different compared to your average Asian drama. "Long time no see" is a Korean gay version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, in which two hitmen fall for each other, and then have to face their competing bosses. Woo Suk Tak and Seung Ho Yeon acting performance is decent (contrary to the secondary characters, unfortunately). The story is rather simple, and although it follows a cliche, it is a nice change that this not the typical Asian melodramatic plot, but rather an action packed (well sort of), mafia plot with an unexpected brutality (although not too much compared to today's Hollywood standards).

In summary: A little bit of romance, a little bit of action, and some skin make up a pleasant evening with a Hollywood-like happy end. No real plot surprises, decent acting and cute faces. Who needs more?

The shows ending was somewhat confusing, but I spend 3 days watching this whole show and I would say that I wasted my time, but it was pretty good. I would defiantly recommend this show because it had a really nice plot, but like I said the ending was really good but I'm still confused. I also hope there is a season 2 to watch because I want to see what's gonna happen and I need something to clear it up. Also I really liked the music for everything, it was sometimes soothing to listen to. The cast also did a great job of acting out the show. So you should go watch it.

The film is absolutely superbly done. The acting is excellent--from the major characters to the minor supporting soldiers; everyone does an excellent job. I cannot really say I would watch it again, but that is just because the film is so emotionally draining. This does not reflect the quality of the film. The story's beauty is that there are so many stories wound up in this one woman's life. It isn't just Mulan tale--although that is gorgeously told in an of itself. This is also the story of Tiger and Wen Tai and all the soldiers who follow and believe in her. It is the story of a father and his daughter. A story of several kinds of leaders and the strength of the loyalty which they inspire. Underneath it all, it is a story of love--between many different kinds of people in many different ways. It may sound silly, but at the same time that I watched this film, I was studying Confucius's works in school. We were taught that Confucius spoke of five relationships--parents/children, ruler/subjects, husband/wife, elder/younger siblings, and between friends. In a way the story in this film is an embodiment of those relationships. I watched it with a friend and we spent hours talking about the philosophy and ideas behind this story. This film is worth watching for many, many reasons. I watched it because I love historical films, and this tale has always interested me. But I loved it because it was so well written. This is a fascinating and very well-designed film. I highly recommend it (but have a tissue handy)

This movie is the definitely at the top of my most hilarious movies list. I just got into the manga and anime and I had to keep myself from laughing out loud. So watching the movie wasn't any different.
This movie follows the manga/anime in that there is no plot. Just a bunch of unique delinquents thrown together in a school and the hilariousness ensues. If your looking for a good laugh and a quick watch, this is perfect for you!

Reset Is An Actual TREASURE and Here’s Why…

Frankly speaking, this was probably the BEST modern/mystery c-drama I’d ever seen! I’m not even exaggerating, because from top to bottom, this drama was attention catching the entire way. I started this drama, not knowing where it would lead to and whether or not I’d like it at all. However, watching “Reset” was one of the best decisions I had ever made in dramaland. The story- my gosh the plot was so well planned out, it kept me wondering desperately for DAYS about what was going to happen next. I just couldn’t stop watching! The cast- it was all too perfect. Not only were the two main leads GREATLY compatible with one another, they expressed emotions so naturally it was almost like I was watching a fascinating documentary. The rest of the cast also gave off such an amazing vibe though, so really, REALLY good job to these actors/actresses for making me believe it! If I had to watch this drama once again, there’s only one answer for me; I WOULD!! Trust me and watch “Reset”, because you’re just going to want to watch this masterpiece again and again.

this series is good if you disconnect it from the original series

I want to preface this review with I went into this knowing the outcome of who Haruta ended up with and as an avid Haruta/Maki shipper and as someone who loved Maki’s character as a whole in the original series. I was wary going into this series given how much I loved HaruMaki but I thought I’ll put my personal bias aside and give this ago (especially since I love Tanaka Kei and wanted to watch more of his dramas and this was one I hadn’t yet managed to watch, and I loved Haruta Soichi a lot in the first season as well).

In some aspects I do think this series was written better than the first season. I won’t lie and tell you that this series is not just a lot of the original series’s plot points reworked and rewritten to fit other characters, because it is pretty much is a lot of that. But I feel In The Sky for the most part does better and/or improves those plot points that we see in the original series.

Something that In The Sky did better than the original series was the bonds between the workers, they felt like a family, something I felt didn’t exist as much within the first season. Kurosawa’s character as a whole I believe was written so much better within In The Sky, he’s less intolerable and stalkerish and I found this a nice improvement.

As much as I feel like this series does improve on certain aspects it does lack something that the original season has and I think it’s the bond between Haruta and the person he ends up with. As much as I didn’t despise the ending (which given by the comments I read I thought I would) it did still feel like it came out of nowhere. I have a lot more to say about this, which I have written down but it's very spoilery so I'll keep it out of this review.

This series is good if you disconnect it from the original series, it’s enjoyable, it has the same humour that the original series has but it felt like something was missing and that was Maki. I loved the new characters I really did but it would’ve been nice to see this AU with Maki in it because his presence was what was missing, him being there next to Haruta was what was missing. Even though Kurosawa was there it felt like no one really was on Haruta’s side. Overall though I still did really enjoy this series.

Melodrama and tons of misunderstandings.

I started this drama for Liang Jie, she's adorable, I love her voice and she's really good at comedies. I feel like the best part of the drama were the actors, however that doesn't mean the relationship worked.

To sum up the entire drama is by one word: MISUNDERSTANDINGS.

1.) In one episode, there is a misunderstanding between FL and ML.

This could be EASILY fixed by a CONVERSATION.

2.) They fight, bicker, do silly stuff, like say how much they hate each other and do selfish actions.

3.) One or two episodes later, it's all cleared up by **GASP** a conversation. And it's all lovely eyes again.

4.) And then it's back to one again, rinse and repeat this cycle for the ENTIRE drama. I think there is about a DOZEN misunderstandings the main leads goes through.

With that said, this trope can be for some folks. It's super angsty and the tension is mega high when you watch the drama. You can see early on when the misunderstandings will happen, so it's like watching a slow motion car crash that is about to impact.

Some people like this stuff, I, however do not.

On the bright side, I enjoyed Joseph Zeng's acting and even though his character was horrible in the beginning, you actually feel bad for the guy as you go on and he grows on you.

The last part of the drama is more politics and I kind of wanted that to be a little more in the middle. I just had a problem with the pacing and the overall plot.

The whole plot is driven by the couple misunderstanding each other, so they break up and get together throughout the drama and it's all to make the series .... well, dramatic.

Overall, I could have been fine passing on this drama, but the actors really made me want to complete the series. Just go into story watching a couple fight, break up and then makeup again.
