ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I'VE SEEN TILL DATE IN MY LIFE

WOW where do I even start with this masterpiece of a show? It isn't even a show, it's an EXPERIENCE, it's goddamn cinematic poetry, it's an absolute DELIGHT in every way, and I'm going to try my best to describe exactly why. The acting, the story, the build-up, the chemistry, the MUSIC, the cinematography, everything was AMAZING.

But the main reason was the SIZZLING and intense and VISCERAL chemistry of the two main leads.
Lee Dong Shik and Han Ju Won, two names I'm likely to never forget as I desperately search for fanfiction and You Tube edits of this pair, because the reality is, I can't let this duo go just yet.

They were always colluding behind everyone's back while pretending that they hate each other, making FERVENT declarations to each other when they're alone, that NEVER ENDING eye contact, HJW willingly touching LDS whenever he gets the chance and even seeking out to be close to LDS physically and emotionally, being truthful only in front of each other, seeing each other at their weakest points, a ready-to-die-for-you attitude, two sides of the same coin, promising each other to be safe, ready to sacrifice their life to right a wrong in the other person's life, a strong sense of trust, pride, belonging and understanding...and where do I even BEGIN with that last 10 minutes T-T

SO MANY TIMES throughout the show, I replayed their 'moments' and observed each and every single expression, every single detail of their interactions, simply because I wanted to keep them in my memory because of how much satisfaction it gave me.

SATISFYING is the best way to put it, because after every revelation, after every reveal, every breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL and haunting soundtrack behind each new discovery, I was completely taken with this couple and their flow of the story, and even though it's supposed to be a slow burn classic thriller, it kept me on the edge of my seat, but I still saw and absorbed each and every single character's tale. The two leads have such an intense push-pull development and their characters compliment each other TOO well.

Despite of the lead couple's stellar chemistry and connection, it is truly remarkable how the other characters also manage to carve out their space in the audience's mind, each character displayed a uniqueness which makes them all memorable in my eyes, and the emotional and psychological trauma was portrayed BRILLIANTLY by each and every single one of them. The baddies were all a delight to watch as well, although the initial 'killer' gave me creeps like never before.

TLDR; WATCH THIS SHOW ASAP AND THEN THANK ME.

Should you watch it?

Yes, I highly recommend it. There are a lot of emotions put into their storyline which made me cry, over all it's good however I believe the idea they chose is hard to develop and maybe they should have made it more simple and less complicated. It's similar to "tales of the nine tailed" (HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS) --> you'll notice the same second main lead actor is there too. All they needed was to make the life for all the main leads less complicated, because I wanted an ending where they all-- something, since I don't wanna spoil this you'll find out while watching the ending...

anyways, I won't spoil this any further, anyone who decides to watch it, all I'll say is that the ending isn't as expected due to their idea and theme of how the male lead would become.

-Still recommended tho :))

I think I've spent all my treats. I love this drama, I love the story, I love the soundtrack.

Easily entered my favorite drama list. I find it very well narrated, the development of the characters and the story is done very well. I would have seen a thousand other such episodes.

I loved the chemistry between the two main male characters, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook, and hope to see them together again. Kim Go-eun (Ji Eun-tak), the lead character, did a great job and I loved her character.
Totally recommended.

his is about obsession and Trauma depicted hauntingly beautiful yet disturbing

Let me start this by saying these actors NEED to get more recognition. Their performance and chemistry was DIVINE!

This story never aims to be a romantic journey of love and trust.

It starts with Fan Xiao, who sees the world as painful and cruel. Good does not excist in his view of the world. When You Shulang shows signs of Goodness Fan Xiao is sure that that cannot be real. And to an extend he is right. You Shulang might be composed and polite, but he too has a different view on the world.
Fan Xiaos hate/obsession/love towards You Shulang stems from a deep hate of the world and his own existence in it.

His fear of You Shulang leaving him ultimately causes Fan Xiao to torture him (more than he already has to that point) by taking away everything from You Shulang including his will to live. But surprisingly that is where Fan Xiao draws the line. Because if You Shulang had committed suicide, Fan Xiaos only reason to be on his earth would have been gone. And as Fan Xiao has so nicely put: Fan Xiao will surely go to hell, but You Shulang won’t be there.

To wrap this very confusing review up: This is a masterpiece in Storytelling and slowly escalating obsession stemming from Trauma. I might even go as far as to say that To my Shore is not a Romance BL but a Psychological Thriller told through the world of BL. And I think it was perfectly executed!

This story is quite inspiring.
It tells about 3 students who eventually manage to improve the moral of the teacher.

I love how Yamada Ryosuke acts here.. He acts as the boss of the three moving student. Well, his acting here is almost great as his acting on Hidarime Tantei Eye.

The part that i like the most is when the three of them (Chinen Yuri, Yamada Ryosuke, and Arioka Daiki) solved the problem (it is a little bit exaggerate, but it's OK).

The story gives us a lot of advice.. It taught us that friendship is important, and because of that we have to be selective to find a real friend.

Overall, the story slightly reminds me of the dorama The Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO), the different here is in GTO, Onizuka (as the teacher) takes the most part.. whether in Scrap Teacher, the students here take most part to make their teachers recognize the fundamental principle of teaching.

The OST is being sung by Hey! Say! JUMP! And indeed, some of the member of Hey! Say! JUMP! acts as the main role here.

Absolutely LOVED this drama. I honestly had low expectations but this blew me right of the water. Everything from the story to the acting to the sets/ styling was pretty much on point. This became a drama that I didn't want to end and now that's over I'm sad.
I've seen dramas with Min Young and just came to really dislike her- this drama changed that. It was basically the roles she portrayed that I disliked so much and not the actually actress herself. Deok Mi is hands down now one of my top 10 fav fictional FL; she is straight up gf goals. Jae Wookis an actor who I have liked from the jump and this drama just made me love him. The chemistry the leads had with each other was stellar and that made this more enjoyable to watch (there is nothing worse than watching a drama with the leads that have terrible/ no chemistry). I'm made that I waited so long to watch this and would totally recommend this especially if adult romance is your thing.

Jealous Love Rivals Galore!

Rebirth For You actually started off quite well as viewers are told that the male protagonist is quietly investigating his mother’s murder. But just as we begin to think this would be an investigative romance drama, it takes a different turn and third parties’ obsessions and jealousies become the central focus. Basically, it gets tiring watching endless schemes by these jealous people trying to tear the main couple apart.

The problem with this script is that you don’t have 1 or even 2 highly obsessed love rivals. You have 4 people going around trying to stop Bao Ning and Li Qian from being together. Emperor Zhao Yi and Zhao Xiao are in love with Bao Ning and they are extremely jealous of Li Qian. Tong Xin is in love with Emperor Zhao Yi and hence, she has an axe to grind with Bao Ning since the man she loves has deep affections for our princess instead. To add more jealousy to the plot, Miao Rong loves Li Qian immensely and hates Bao Ning for snatching her man away.

Well, just from that brief summary above, you should have an idea what to expect from this drama. 4 jealous people are certainly enough to make a 40-episode drama but the question is do you really want to sit through never ending efforts to create trouble for a loving couple?

In Dire Need For A Better Script
As mentioned, the drama begins with Li Qian seeking an answer to his mother’s death. That is the overarching plot that viewers are given in the first 2 episodes which could have been developed into something much better just like Maiden Holmes. But for the next 30 episodes thereafter, this storyline disappears. It is replaced with the antics of the jealous antagonists. In fact, the leads have given these people a direct rejection a number of times but they just couldn’t take no for an answer.

Li Qian’s mother’s case resurfaces only in the last 8 episodes and that is also interspersed with more schemes to cause the main couple harm. No doubt toxic love rivals are common in historical romance dramas. You can find one in A Female Student Arrives At The Imperial College as well as One And Only. But Rebirth For You has taken it to the extreme by giving too much attention to the schemes of these villains that the romance has taken a backseat when it is supposed to be a love story.

Therefore, the drama suffers from poor scriptwriting which fails to balance out the romance, investigation, and jealousy for a more pleasant watch. To me, if you want to build almost an entire drama on jealous love rivals, there need to be more depth to these people’s stories. As it is, their stories are very superficial as the focus is on their schemes and obsessions.

The Romance Is Lacking
Bao Ning and Li Qian is depicted as a very loving couple in the drama. You know that they love each other a lot but the romance doesn’t have the intensity and passion to make it more memorable. They are sweet at times but that is about it. I don’t know if passionate kissing scenes might help to elevate the romance but they are certainly missing from Rebirth For You. So, all you would get are simple pecks.

Personally, I would have preferred a more matured and intense romance because that would be consistent with the fact that they are a married couple with a deep love for one another. Some stories don’t need such scenes and they still evoke deep feelings in viewers such as The Long Ballad. But Rebirth For You just doesn’t have that same quality to be able to make do without more passion in the romance. As a result, the main couple’s romance becomes muted against the nonstop onslaught from jealous love rivals.

Leads’ Chemistry
While the romance is lacking in the drama, it doesn’t mean that the couple has no chemistry. I would say Ju Jing Yi and Joseph Zeng have good chemistry between them and they are easy on the eyes as an on-screen couple. Their sweet scenes are perhaps the bright spot of the drama amidst all the toxic characters but they are too few to really make an impact. Neither do they stick in your mind once the episode is over.

I know Ju Jing Yi doesn’t do intense kissing scenes which then brings to question if they have done the casting right given the script on hand. I guess she does have that mischievous look which is required for this role. She has played more or less this kind of adventurous character in Legend Of Yun Xi and The Blooms At Ruyi Pavilion and Bao Ning in Rebirth For You just seems another of the same.

My Verdict – Find Something Better
I just wish Ju Jing Yi and Joseph Zeng had picked a better script to showcase their talent and looks. They couldn’t save this drama despite their popularity. I guess if you don’t want to sit through the endless evil schemes of those delusional characters, you can watch the first 12 episodes and then skip to the last 4. But then, what is the point of watching when you are skipping more than half of the drama, right?

Anyway, the ending is also a little rushed. The produces tried to cram too many things into the last 2 episodes to wrap the story up that the pacing quickens considerably. Some of the fighting scenes are also laughable because what it is supposed to be a war between 2 nations is reduced to a gangster fight. I don’t know if the producer is constrained by a low budget or other reasons but the final battle is anti-climatic to me.

For this Rebirth For You review, I could only give it a score of 6/10. It may be a little harsh especially for the fans of the leads but the drama is really lacking in substance. If you don’t mind watching jealousies of bitter love rivals, then this would not be so bad. Their evil schemes are interesting at times and you will be waiting for the day they get just retribution which would be the main motivation to continue watching. But overall, Rebirth For You is not a drama that will leave you clamoring for more. In fact, you might even regret starting on it because there is only so much delusional jealousy that one can take!

Much better then the en of love version

I was skeptical at first because of watching En of love which was seemingly could have all been better if they had more scree time
I was scared that this was going to do what love by chance 2 did and making us see almost the exact some thing again for the first few episodes but surprisingly it didn’t the way they continued to be the same from En of love: Mechanics but in a much more elaborate way but sticking to the main plot point with some extra fillers made it feel like I was watching a whole different story so if you enjoyed the idea of En of love: Mechanics this is definitely worth a watch. I’m glad they stuck with 10ep. I think they could’ve left the parents for a second season and change the way BLs are made but I understand how budgeting and how it is very hard to get a second season for a BL is. I am still very satisfied with this BL and hope to see more like this from Wetv

This is available, free and legally - and finally fully subbed - on Thai PBS via their VIPA app and vipa.me streaming service. If you are interested in it, please show your support for queer programming by watching legally. It is in your interest to do so.

The characters are a close-knit circle, friends since high school, their partners, families and work colleagues. Every significant character gets an episode, the core characters more than one. Noom Surawut’s Ohn is at the centre of it all, comforting and grounding with his calm, gentle demeanour.

The series aims to foster greater understanding through depicting a wide range of difficulties faced by those who are gender diverse. Adult relationships, aging, illness, death, and childhood are all touched on.

In the early episodes it can get a bit didactic with explanations but those pass quickly enough. Something it doesn’t spell out which may be helpful for MDLers to know is that Thai frameworks for orientation and gender identity don’t match up with western conceptions and can be more fluid.

As a simple example, when they use language like “gender diverse”, this includes gay and lesbian as well as trans and non-binary. Kathoey is a third gender, sometimes camp, tending towards effeminate. The characters will tell you about themselves, or one will explain to another.

“Romance” is perhaps a misleading genre, depending on how you define it - the relationships are long term and well established, seven years for one, much longer for the other. It’s not even like What Did You Eat Yesterday, with its focus on two men falling more and more in love with each other. The gay is gay, not BL gay.

Each episode is structured around a problem which keeps a character awake - the “hard nights” of the English title - and ends with enough resolution they’re able to sleep.

Many episodes are slice of life vignettes, while a few are more like short stories with a fair bit of flashback and personal history. The characters are likeable and engaging, but there isn’t a compelling story line driving everything. It’s just characters to spend time with, learn about and root for as they navigate the difficulties of being middle aged and gender diverse in Thailand.

Beautifully filmed

I think the star of this show was the forest. It was beautifully filmed, and time seemed to shift whenever anyone was in the forest. I could feel myself relaxing along with the characters. And if I lived in that house in the middle of that forest, I would never leave.

I loved the story between the lead characters. Their relationship spoke to being stronger together, and the power of love in the healing process. The symbolism of the healing power of the forest was apparent. Park Hae Jin and Jo Bo Ah did an excellent job. Both main characters were wound pretty tight, but spending time in the forest and with each other softened them, but ultimately made them stronger. They were so cute together, there were a couple of scenes with loving baby talk that I just had to watch multiple times! Seeing Park Hae Jin being playful was worth the price of admission! Their kisses were very lovely (especially the stethoscope kiss!).

Especially creepy bad guy - the actor did a wonderful job, he was really hard to watch and seriously gave me the heebie-jeebies!

However, I felt that this show suffered from too many episodes - it was so drawn out I fast forwarded through a lot of it toward the end, and the ending, as is unfortunately commonplace in Korean dramas, was too rushed.

It started really good and ended even better. I'm glad I gave this drama a try. I wasn't really interested after reading the synopsis but since James Ma is here, why not give it a try right? Lol. In any case, the female lead's acting is not that good but I would say that the story and the chemistry between the two leads is enough for me to forgive all the flaws of this drama. I could go on and on but one thing's for sure, I finished this drama with a smile on my face. I love this drama so much and I would definitely rewatch this again some time. Highly recommended!!!

If you've ever seen 'Supernatural' there is an episode in which Sam's day is repeating over and over again and he has to deal with his brother's death. He tries to save his brother many times but without any result. I've seen 12 seasons of the series but this episode will always be my favourite one. And that was pretty much the reason why I watched this movie, because it reminded me of that SPN episode.

Gladly, I wasn't disappointed. It was a good movie, one of the best korean movies I've seen so far.

The story keeps you interested til the very end, it's very well-written and well-developed. I usually predict the plot-twists easily but the plot twist in 'A day' surprised me. I seriously didn't expect that.
There's no much to say about the characters since the storyline was more important here, so we couldn't see much of the main leads. But it's understandable, since it's a thriller.
Why am I giving it just an 8 insted of 10? Well, because some parts were kind of boring.

The cast was awesome, I loved it.

I recommend this movie to everyone. It's worth your time and you won't regret watching it.
