Story is very simple but endearing, moving and very romantic! Without too many unnecessary romance scenes this movie is classic romance! Well balanced with sad and joyful scenes but mostly it’s a movie that will make you smile. With the least amount of dialogues it felt very calm. Visuals were stunning and music was tranquil! Overall background was serene and only natural sounds were present but when the music played…it was just beautiful!
Another reason why I love this movie was the village setup and tradition of ‘The Way Home’. This movie reminded me of days of my life in village, whole setup was quite similar to the village in which I lived. Also the tradition of ‘The Way Home’ is exactly the same in my country; I was moved during those scenes.
Main attraction of the movie is Zhang Ziyi, brilliant in her debut movie. She’s not our usual sexy goddess and kick ass Zhang Ziyi but instead she played a very innocent, sweet, charming girl with pigtails! When she ran, when she smiled and when she spoke…everything made me smile!
…and at the end I was crying…
Notes:
Suitable and can be enjoyed by all ages.
Don’t watch it to pass the time.
This movie can be a good way to enter in the world of those ‘artsy’ movies.

Sun-Kissed Romance
Most definitely, this series carried such a summery vibe all throughout. From the warm cinematography and the playful color grading to the breezy locations, everything screamed sunshine and romance. And of course, the hot scenes between Winny and Satang added that extra spark. It was refreshing to see them step into more mature roles, really leaning into those steamy love scenes that pushed their chemistry to the next level. Now, I’ll admit—the acting wasn’t perfect. There were moments where it could’ve been sharper, but honestly, their chemistry more than made up for it, plus they both register so well on camera. Story‑wise, it follows the familiar rom‑com BL formula we’ve seen before, so I really did not expect major twists or reinventions. But what kept me hooked was the way it was narrated—the pacing, the vibe, the way the visuals tied everything together. The colors, the atmosphere, the whole aesthetic gave it a charm that made the series enjoyable despite its predictability. So yeah, while it’s not a masterpiece, it’s definitely a fun watch if you’re in the mood for something light, romantic, and visually pleasing. I’d land it at a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars—worth the ride for the chemistry and the summer glow it brings. Was this review helpful to you?

One of the Best Drama in 2021
it is rare for me to write a review for each drama that i watched so i'm gonna write a review for this one. first of all, let's talk about the acting and oh boys prob to Liang Jie and Steven Zhang for their phenomenal acting, they can portrayed each other's character out so well, even to the smallest detailed. the chemistry between the lead was amazing despite both of the actors are working together for the first time and i can feel "Couple Feel" from them and their kissing scene was intense as well.the story: the story is really great, it's about each of the character growth and they're portrayed it so well, i like how Jiang Yi come to term with his mother and finally embrace his mother again and i loved how Yu Sheng Sheng grow in this drama as well, and able to stay by Jiang Yi side and help Jiang Yi through his difficulty including his reconciliation with his mother. i'm a guy and that's scene nearly brought me to tear tbh.
Overall, i enjoyed this drama and i would rewatched it over and over again because that's how good it is. I hope that Liang Jie and Steven Zhang would get another project together again as a main lead, they're really good together.

**** CONTAINS SPOILERS *************Grate is such an eye candy that I can't resist watching his lakorns :))) fangirling :D Yes the main lady is a bit annoying but Ameena was much more annoying. I don't like slug type of ladies and she's a slug here, like a flea.. I loved how realistic this lakorn is, Chin has got behaviour / anger problems, he also had drinking problems but after he made an accident that left his mother's neck injured he stops drinking, his mother is giving him advice to use his brain to solve problems don't look for alcohol to solve problems, we learn a lot about rubber plantation, we see that Chin goes to group therapy to solve his anger management, it can be considered as AA for anger management. Main girl changes from spoiled brat to an understanding not giving, thoughtful woman, 2nd lead San who stole Chanika's bf with lying to both sides, goes into depression and kills herself, the problem is Mint always plays the evil lady I think except one with Mark Prin, it's going to be hard to accept her as a good main lady if she ever plays the good character.. I also loved how Chanika fall in love with Chin. It didn't happen in one night, but at the end she fell in love with her husband and learned to trust her husband. And for a change a man who's willing to change for the woman he loves, not expecting her to change for him, in a way she has changed she's not the girl she was when she started to work for her husband, so unknowingly she has changed, he changed her in a good way, now he's ready to change for the woman he loves. Grate has a lovely smile whoever is the script write must know his gorgeous smile, they're using Chanika to tell in this lakorn how good his smile is and how he rarely uses it :D. Chin is also a man with a good heart, he changed his father in law's urine bag, tbh I don't I'd have done it, changing someone's urine bag, that's not blood related. But he has anger issues, he's like a walking bomb ready to explode any time. A moral message here, it's been given over San, if you take something - someone doesn't belong to you someone will come and take it from you. If you break a family - relationship you'll never have your own.. I'm giving the most evil lady award to Ameena, she's jumping to one man to another another man.. Proper gold digger.. She tried every single man to see who she can get.. At least Chin was not a type of a guy who'd fall into Ameena's traps. He was strong on that side. Well both husband and wife is temperamental, I admit Chin is worse but Chanika is also temperamental, I guess this temperamental & jealousy thing runs in the family, as San is also an extreme side, I don't really blame San, as there is Sin who's trying to get her bf, she took her best friend's bf so she sort of knows how your loved one can slip off from your hands on the hands of another woman. Chin's mom given him the biggest punishment by telling him that his wife had a miscarriage, while she didn't had one, it was for him to change his behaviours, not to be this temperamental. I love the mothers in this lakorn, Chin's mother was so against Chanika but when she realised that she's not a bad woman, she accepted her, and she supported her daughter in law, Ameena admitted to her mother that she's not pregnant with Pat, she doesn't know who the father of her baby. ( umm it's not my business but you're a grown up lady why didn't you use protection, perils of unprotected sex lol) when San killed herself she was pregnant with Pan.Chin is upset by his behaviours he still thinks he is responsible from the death of his unborn baby. His mother is also no longer soft and forgiving towards him. We can't really call this a slap kiss drama, as our lady never resists to his kisses , he was on her lips whenever he finds a chance, for him he's doing it to punish her lol :D ahahh yes yes dear you do it to punish her. Tong was sharp he understood that Chanika didn't have a miscarriage
At least on the funeral she admitted in front of everyone that She's not pregnant with Pan, she only used his name to find a father to the baby in her stomach, she and her mother been asked to leave and never come back.
I love how they use Karma in Thai lakorns, I believe in Karma..
We also had a chance to learn that Chin didn’t rape Siri, she had leukaemia, and she was in love with him, when he didn’t respond to her love she blamed Chin and killed herself.
I can't say I liked the OST, it was not as great as on the other lakorns, I was expecting a better one but it was not interesting.

Touch Your Love
Listen, Jiang ShaoPeng's love language is touch, and I respect him for that. My man got himself a boyfriend, and we found his innocent face was just a facade, cuz every second he was lifting his lover up, then it was kisses here, touches there, and ignoring that his parents are in the house. Homeboy was wild, and I loved him for it."I can't hear, but I can see how you say you love me." -- And they showed us how he saw that love, in this very beautiful 13 episodes drama. See You Love is one of the best dramas that released in 2024. Arguable, it's one of the best bls out there. The drama is about two lost souls, one spoiled rich kid with a kind heart, who found love and realised he was not useless or weak, and shouldn't live for the approval of others, and about a loving deaf boy who never thought he was enough because of his disability, but learned to love himself and accept his limitation did not define him.
This drama made me laugh, cry, and in some cases, annoyed the hell out of me. Let me explain.
I CRIED When:
= Jiang Shaopeng couldn't find a job, although he's been working so hard and was more than qualify. People suck.
= When Yang Zi Xiang was explaining to Shaopeng that he's useless and weak in his family's eyes, and basically saw himself as someone who was worthless. Baby looked so small, and that fake smile had me tearing.
= When we found out Zixiang slept in that closet. Poor boy.
= When Jiang Shaopeng broke down after his mother was hospitalised, admitting that because he was deaf he has to rely on others for help, care and sympathy. 'Haven't I tried hard enough, haven't I been patient enough' made me sob.
= When Jiang Shaopeng's hopelessness and sadness made him fight with Yang Zi Xiang. When Zi Xiang was yelling at him for pretending to be strong, I had to pause the drama for a bit and get myself together.
= When the next day, Yang Zi Xiang wrote him that letter/phone note but said he wasn't going to apologies for what he said during their fight, and that being strong did not mean that Jiang Shaopeng couldn't also be weak. And although he himself is weaker, he want Jiang Shaopeng to let himself be weak and show his vulnerability when they were together, cuz he'd be there for him.
= When we found out how Jiang Shaopeng's friend Shu He blamed him and his disability for what happened to her. Girl how does that make sense? Why was it his fault?
= When Jiang Shaopeng finally gave in, rushed to Yang Zi Xiang in the hospital, hugged and kissed him. I clapped and cried happy tears when they finally got together.
= When I saw Jiang Shaopeng finally working where he wanted too and being happy about it.
= When Jiang Shaopeng said Yang Zixiang was part of his family. That was as good as getting married.
= When Jiang Shaopeng put his hand on Yang Zi Xiang's throat/vocal cord to hear/feel him say his name over and over again, while they cried. That scene emotionally broke me.
= When Shaopeng said that 'If in the future I become a burden to you, just tell me you want to break up, no need for any reason.' I yelled at my screen like, 'Boy dafug you saying?' Was so glad Zixiang reassured him, cuz dude was out there talking nonsense and making me angry sad.
= When Yang Zixiang wanted to sacrificed himself for his love and cousin. That boy is so pure, I love him so much.
= When Zixiang slept in the closet/wardrobe again, but Shaopeng said it was okay and they had lots of time to work through his issue together.
= When I saw that ring on their ringers in the post credit scene. They're married y'all.
I LAUGHED When:
= Yang Zi Xiang thought Jiang Shaopeng was the perfect hire cuz he was deaf, but Shaopeng was not having it, quitting when he saw through Zixiang's bullsh!t. Lmao, the way he aggressively quit and refused to come back had me rolling.
= When the second leads, Wang Xinjia was trying to kidnap and kill Jonathan, but my man ended up in his bed instead, and proceeded to fail miserably, until he even moved in with them and started working for them. Lmao, you call that being an assassin? he sucked so bad, it was funny.
= When we found out how WILD Jiang Shaopeng was after the two got together. Dude had zero shame, was always ready for a kiss, and did not care his parents were home, and could hear them. My man was on, and I respect that. But like in the scene when Zixiang first visited Shaopeng's room and immediately started rolling on the bed, sniffing his pillow, boy was just asking to be eaten, so I don't blame Shaopeng for losing control.
= When Jiang Shaopeng got jealous of the cousin, and then tried to run and hide his face cuz he was embarrassed.
= During that shower scene I was swooning and going... awww he has to step on his feet, ooofff hot, the chemistry is chemistrying, but before that I was laughing cuz poor Zi Xiang was like, let me take a shower, and Shaopeng was like, sure... but that doesn't mean we have to stop what we are doing. Boy, Shaopeng's innocent face had me in the first half. WILD.
= Not laughing, but I coo and smile whenever I see the size different between our two leads. Shaopeng is so tall, and it's so cute whenever he sits on Zi Xiang's lap. They are soooo adorable!
= When Jiang Shaopeng's father tried to fight Zi Xiang after he found out they were dating but immediately broke his back. LOL, that dude was so cureless, he didn't get a hint that whole time??
= When Zixiang was trying to figure out what he should bring as a bride price for Shaopeng. I was like, nothing, that boy is so gone for you he'd marry you on the spot.
= When Shaopeng looked pissed off and annoyed for being kidnap. The way he was calmly writing back his answers.
= When Shaopeng's dad was like, 'nope, ain't telling those love boys to break up. But thank you for the second son, I can see you don't want yours, I'll take care of him.' Goated, and I loved it.
= When Xin Jia's drunk arse thought he was in control and sober. LMAO, the whole time he actually believed that lie.
I ROLLED my eyes in Annoyance when:
= Shaopeng's female friend started getting jealous and wanted to cause trouble. The audacity after what she did.
= The slow build of the second lead, or I guess they're going backwards build, cuz they did the deal and now they just sort of roommates? Like are they supposed to be a couple or not? I've waited so long and nothing is happening with them.
= That random fiancée showing up and trying to start sh!t. Why were the females in this show so annoying?
= When Shaopeng's female friend was warning Zixiang not to hurt him or else. That girl seriously have too much audacity.
= Whenever that cousin of Shaopeng showed up. He was unnecessary mean for no reason, literally what the hell did he want? Shaopeng didn't even want the business and dude was still planning to assassinate him.
- That Cousin. Waste of screen time.
Plot wise, the story wasn't something new, but the execution and the chemistry of the leads carried the show. The main focus was on the two leads, and I hoped the secondary characters could have been well developed and have more scenes, but with 30mins episodes, it wasn't possible to give everyone the screen-time they deserved, nonetheless, they got their point across. Personally, I enjoyed almost everything about this show. The main couple were amazing in their roles, Raiden Lin and Jin Yun had such an amazing chemistry, and played off each other very well. They were able to convey the emotions the plot needed for us audience to connect with the characters, which made me enjoy it more.
All in all, although it wasn't perfect, it was a great show with lots of emotions and laughter. I'll highly recommend this to all bl and drama lovers. This was among my top 3 most favourite dramas of 2024, so yeah, give it a watch you'd like it. I really hope to see Raiden and Jin Yun in a drama together again. I'm gonna rewatch this one a lot this year, cuz it simply stole my heart.

things i loved:
-overlying theme 'man is not an island'.
saki gradually realizes that friendship is so important when chasing your dreams and that she doesn't have to bear that burden alone.
-comedic moments broke up the seriousness!
the michael jackson dancing scenes were great and seeing how a high strung ohitorisama type let's loose was cute and refreshing.
-great ensemble cast!
each of the characters struggle with expectations placed on them by society and family and what they really want to do. that internal conflict was very realistic (especially since i am very similar to the main character saki).
-lighting
this is an odd detail, but one of the first things i noticed about this drama was the use of natural lighting in saki's apartment. scenes that took place there aren't lit by artificial lights but solely by window light. it's an odd thing to notice but when dramatic scenes took place there, it gave the setting more of a warmer feel. it was a nice touch from the PD.
things i hated:
-too short! i'd love to see this get a special!
overall:
if you want a heart-warming comedy about an ohitorisama that breaks down her shell, this quirky comedy might be for you! definitely recommended!

The best thing about this drama are the characters. The cast makes this drama. Now everybody did not have the best acting skills but this did not matter to me. The drama's story and the chemistry between the cast was still great. The boys are great. You end up bonding with them. The chemistry with the boys is perfect to me. I loved watching them together on screen. I usually root for romance but the bromance was adorable and raw. These boys had my heart from the very beginning. I just loved those moments between them. I love Su Ah's character and I have to say I was quite surprised by her. I was excepting her to be weak but she proved me wrong.
The next best thing about this drama is the story line. I was excepting a typical drama about music. A group of hot boys make it big and debut. I was so wrong. This drama is more than just music. This drama is about friendship and coming of age. As I stated before the bromance is what makes this drama. Their friendship had me from the first episode. I like how SUFBB did not just focus on their music like I thought it would. I wanted to know about characters like Ji Hyuk and Hyun Soo. I wanted to know what their life is like and how all of them can really be able to remain friends. Friendship is they key word for this drama.
The music is the best. When I first heard Jaywalking I could not stop listening to it. Their music is perfect to me. Ji Hyuk's voice makes me want to smile. I love Eye Candy and wish they were actually a band.
The ending was a beast. I have watched some great dramas before. They all started off perfect in the beginning but in those last two or three episodes the writers fall off. They never know how to wrap it up quite right or they leave many questions unanswered. I thought the same would happen with this drama but they did well. Not even quite well they did GREAT. They wrapped everything up in a real raw realistic way.
Overall, I fell in love with this drama from the very first episode. The story and the cast reels you into the drama and you can't help but put your heart into it. You can't help but get close to the characters. My emotions were all over the place watching this. I love watching the boys be free and having fun. I wanted to have fun with them. The whole vibe they gave off made me love them and want to listen to them. I felt like a little fan girl for Eye Candy.
I'll finish this review by saying SHUT UP!!! and WATCH!

lovely film, flat FL but still lovely
put off watching this drama for so many years though i had only heard good things about it.now that i've seen it, i can't tell if it was really good or if the directors are simply good at making bad stories seem good. this confusion is because the ending felt rushed in a way i couldn't decide whether it was intentional and part of style or just shoddy.
i don't particularly enjoy watching damsels in distress (give the woman some real agency please) because i think it's overdone in kdramas, so maybe that's why the romance between the leads did not appeal to me that much. though it's not bad, i could have done without it.
funny. i was so invested in knowing why the sort-of-evil-but-kind-of-grey-so-maybe-good? boss, choi yoo-jin (최유진), seemed to be absolutely, irreparably, in love with the male lead. most of the time, i couldn't tell if she loved him like a mother or like a lover. too funny. but i really liked that turbulent nonsense they had going on between them. would have put my money down for some romance between them.
i think if yoo-jin and her husband had actually liked each other, they could have made an unstoppable power couple (well, mainly her). she was too good.
all things said, i thoroughly enjoyed watching it. i was on the figurative edge of my seat, and i laughed in so many places i don't even think the directors intended for me to laugh. there are also many nice quotable quotes, so it was a good ride through and through.

Truly the best F4 ever made
Wow this really is the best ever adaptation of F4. All from the story and actors who portray the characters so well, then the production design. The story does feel so realistic and truly a coming of age story. It gives us a lot of emotions right from the first episode onwards and continues till the final. The relationship between all the characters is so good which you can really feel. The different songs in this series and the timing of a song to give us the feel of emotions. It also does a very good job on the issue of bullying teens and how they are scared for their life. It also gives us the message that people can change if you guide them the right way and enjoy every moment of your life without any regret. The relationship between our main couple is so cute and unique for audience and how they face the problems of life. They also did a really good job of giving the bad guys back story as to why they did the things which could destroy the relationship between thyme and gorya. The cenemetrograph and production value of this series was really high and they didn't waste it. They have every character their own Arc to fulfill which was amazing and felt complete to watch and they do a good job of telling everyone's story but also manage to keep it F4 centric. It does make you wanna cry for the characters in moments but it also has a very good comedic elements and great story telling. At the end this was a very good series and i want more of series like this one. Loved the seriesWas this review helpful to you?

GREAT DRAMA
Who knew this drama was so good to watch, the main theme was Yellow River and huge flood during Qing dynasty that killed people and destroyed properties, but also the portrayal of political situation during KangXi dynasty. This drama is from actual historical background, many characters were real people, real tragedy, political concentration and challenges. A very casual acting for all actors, not strict to the Imperial rules and bend to have some funny scenes. I love Luo Jin here, he's very casual Emperor KangXi, very ambitious and smart, determined and focused, devoted to his people and country, understand the politic and his officials. He couldn't find solution with the river, he decided to recruit talented people by Scholar national examination for idea to manage the division of the Yellow River with no luck. By chance he met Chen Huang and was selected to work together with Jin Fu - the governor from a province that affected by the flood and experiencing first hand of the tragedy. What's so great about this drama? None of the actors were beautiful or handsome, none childish, all were just ordinary looking people, minimum make up, realistic events with appropriate responses, nobody straining their face just to get expression out, no romance, no cringe. Acting was great, collaboration between actors were excellent, soundtrack was amazing, articulating literacy brilliantly. Probably, not the most flattering drama that would 'hit' the roof but nonetheless it's a great watch. KangXi as a young Emperor was way ahead of his time, developing Navy and introduced canons, trading with foreigners. I love it when he consulted monetary need to Grandmother which she apparently responsible with Treasury. Although there're mentioning Taiwan, like to reminded people that Taiwan ancestry belonged to China, it relates to the political situation between China-Taiwan continuous conflict since early on. Asides from that, KangXi proved to be ambitious as well as firmed to his vision of the country. Lots of corrupt officials, kissing ass officials to their superiors, bureaucracy, opposition. Some glory and victories, regret and sadness, hopelessness and failures, funny and snarky comments.
So much aggravation on my part for watching those officials who abused their power and corruption, last few episodes- an Emperor who made a wrong decision by insisting to stop building the dam and punished TianJi and Gov Jin when it finally revealed his appointed people for the wrong job and caused final flood disaster that killed (again) thousand people and properties. Looking at additional support actors (as refugees/citizen) as they claimed the people were hungry and resolved in cannibalism but none that I saw skinny enough to portray famine or starved to death situation. Look at them to be well fed.

A short but quirky story
I enjoy this sweet and quriky drama. It's about perfect pretty girl who everyone stared at, but was naive to it all. She was in love with her boyfriend, but he was cheating on her with her best friend who took adventage of there relationship. While he makes up a stupid reason she see her BF with her BF who is flitting with him as she see her watching. As crying on bus this guy put his hat on her and as he get off he gives her his sunglasses.Duri opens up her own restaurant and gives tarot card reading on a special dish only. She helps those in need, while she happy. Then one day she meet her upstairs neighbor and thru misunderstanding of each other life he realizes that she has his glasses and she was the girl he was looking for and he was the guy who she saved his hat and glasses. They fall in love then the old BF and BF show up on there wedding day to apologize for what the did. All went well. A really short but worth watching drama. A filler in between

This drama shows us the power of friendship even when things get rough. At times, watching the characters got frustrating but this reminded me that each of us are different, and we come to different decisions based on our own experiences. I would never defend some of the questionable things the characters did, but hey that's drama for you. I couldn't stop watching to see what would happen next. Also, I love the fact that each of the main girls had careers they were proud to be in. Japan has seen an increase in young women working instead of quickly getting married and staying at home, so this is a positive example of such.
The cinematography is modern and fitting for the times (they mention the 2020 Olympics so it felt 'in the now' haha). The characters are usually in the Harajuku/Omotensando area for those who have been to Tokyo and love to see characters in places they have visited. The acting is good too, Rinko's character is the main protagonist and I liked how driven she was. Can't especially say the same for almost all male characters though. The chemistry between the 3 friends was A+. The music is also fun; the theme song is "Tokyo Girl" by Perfume. The CG effects are also pretty funny!
Finally, the title of the show is a fun play on words. 'Tara' and 'reba' are the grammatical endings used for conditional statements in Japanese, basically "what if". So, if you are looking for an enjoyable drama, don't ask 'what if', and just go for it! :)

Caught between two lovers, feeling all confused.
If Only It Weren’t You is a provocative and emotionally charged drama that walks a fine line between romance and discomfort. At times, its sensual tone pushes the boundaries of what one might expect from a mainstream series, and had it gone any further, it could easily have tipped into something far more explicit - pornography. That said, the physicality in the story is not without purpose—it underscores the emotional entanglement and psychological pull between the characters. At the centre is Onuma, a woman at a vulnerable turning point in her life. Having just ended a relationship and entered her thirties, she is confronted with the sudden reappearance of Ureshino—a man with whom she shared a physical and morally complicated past. Their relationship, even a decade ago, was built on betrayal, as both were involved with other partners at the time. This history casts a long shadow, making their reunion both charged and deeply uncomfortable.
Onuma’s initial instinct is to distance herself, to maintain composure and bury the past. However, Ureshino’s persistence quickly erodes that resolve. His presence is unsettling not only because of what they shared, but because of how easily he reawakens something in her that she cannot fully control.
In contrast, Kusaka represents stability and sincerity. His growing interest in Onuma offers a clear, healthier alternative—someone dependable, respectful, and emotionally available. Yet, despite recognising this, Onuma finds herself drawn back into Ureshino’s orbit, reigniting a relationship that is as intoxicating as it is destructive.
This creates a deeply toxic dynamic. Onuma is caught in a painful push-and-pull—wanting to break free, yet repeatedly falling back into Ureshino's arm (or bed). While it may be easy to judge her as indecisive or lacking resolve, the drama invites a more compassionate perspective. It reflects a reality many can recognise: the difficulty of escaping emotionally manipulative or addictive relationships. Much like real-life toxic attachments or affairs, the pull is not always rational, nor is it easily resisted.
Ureshino is a particularly compelling, if troubling, character. His behaviour raises constant questions about his true intentions. Does he genuinely care for Onuma, or is he simply exerting control and indulging his carnal desires? When he senses her drifting toward Kusaka, he shifts tactics—suggesting a more “serious” relationship, which only deepens the ambiguity. His ability to manipulate both Onuma and the situation reveals a calculating, narcissistic streak that makes him both fascinating and unsettling to watch.
What makes the drama engaging is how it places the viewer in Onuma’s position. You are drawn into her confusion, her hesitation, and her internal conflict. Even as you recognise the toxicity of the situation, there is a lingering curiosity—perhaps even hope—that Ureshino’s feelings might be genuine. Yet, the memory of his past actions casts doubt over everything, creating a constant tension that drives the narrative forward.
Ultimately, If Only It Weren’t You is less about romance and more about emotional vulnerability, flawed choices, and the complexity of human relationships. It explores how desire, history, and unresolved feelings can blur judgement, leading individuals into situations they know they should avoid.
One thing, however, remains clear throughout: Ureshino’s manipulative tendencies and self-serving behaviour make him a deeply problematic figure, and the drama does not shy away from showing the damage such personalities can inflict.
Setting aside the emotional aspects of the drama, I felt that the male lead’s hairstyle did not quite suit him. It fell heavily over his eyes, making his face appear smaller and somewhat obscured. If the intention was to create an air of mystery or suggest a more elusive, unreadable character, it did not quite achieve that effect. A neater style, perhaps brushed slightly aside, would have been more flattering and effective on screen.

Story: Started off funny, interesting and a bit like City Hall actually but quickly turned into a drama with an extremely slow plot and lack of direction. A lot of things happened towards the end that came out of nowhere and just didn’t make sense. There were just a lot of things the writers could have done to make it more interesting. It was way too predictable, slow and a good 7 eps too long. It at least had a good ending=)
Acting/Cast: Loved the leads together. Megan is one of the better Taiwanese actresses out there. Roy is usually a good actor but his character didn’t have a lot of development and his expressions were kind of stifled which may be the fault of the writers. I loved the entire supporting characters!!
Music: It was disappointing and although I didn’t like Office Girls that much it did have a better OST. The music in this one was really boring and made the drama feel slower and I just wish it was more upbeat.
Rewatch: I wouldn’t watch this again even though I loved the entire cast because it was just too slow!
Overall if you cant handle extremely slow plots id stay away but if you like Roy, Miss Rose is worth a once over.
