Chen Luo is a lunatic

Pei Yi is faced with the quandary of what to do about an 'ally' - indeed, a longtime close family friend - who has turned out to be a homicidal maniac. Worse - as insane as he is, he's aligned with her own personal revenge goals. Later, a tiny moment within Pei Yi's conversation with Consort Shu; When Consort Shu reveals that she knows all about the nursery rhyme, Pei Yi inhales, raises and lowers her shoulders in one those small but incredibly emotive gestures that only a really skilled actress like Bai Lu can pull off convincingly. I actually missed it the first time because it was so natural. Spotted it when I replayed the scene. Love to see good acting like that, where the attention to detail is so deep.

beautiful five+lap run

i had the epiphany that candy’s story was inversed chiemi’s. candy was not dealt beautiful cards which means she was doomed to alyways be overlooked in spite of all her passionate talent. & it was really confirmed the moment chiemi snapped basck at candy. it wasn’t mean it was chiemi truly hearing what candy had to say & understanding how it felt. nopony was truly wrong in this episode. akutagaewa ，chiemi ，they all get why candy feels this way after eight years of just this part of her life reinforcing what she’s alwaus ived through ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆　　 ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆ ever since i watched the barbie movie I’ve been bothered by how comedies try so hard to be funny they sacrifice so many meaningful moments but here i saw absolutely no compromise. all of the rival troupes running amok in the streets of shimokita with a jolly score in the back. it’s a joke ，but one to make you smile after crying. they look ridiculous while committing actions in the name of candy. i didn’t laugh seeing candy hang herself i smiled seeing them all rush to her & smiled along+side them when they took it as a sign that she is okay now ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆　　 ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆ yuika is not an idiot. she doesn’t understand things the way others have learned through hard+ships but when your heart is pure you can reach other people. i don’t think i can put into words how i feel about yuika but i think they’ve done such a great job.

felt like there was so much but lim ji yeon really nailed it all together

Genuine chemistry continues. Se-gye and Dan-shim shine together in ways that are already making me root for them. I did feel like the pacing of this episode was very fast and also the editing a bit all over the place. They shoved in as much as possible in this single episode, but luckily Lim Ji-yeon ties it all together with that final scene. Her frustration at her new life being so similar to her old one helps ground the episode altogether.I am surprised at how quickly the romance is proceeding, but it's not technically a bad thing, and it makes sense when you think about how hard and fast Se-gye has fallen. Now it's up to him to prove to Dan-shim that he actually likes her, and that it's not just out of a sense of pity.I wish we could have seen Kang Dan-shim/Seo-ri's reaction to Mun-do telling her to get together with his brother. Did she simply leave without saying anything? Did she refuse? Or did she agree? There were a couple of scenes where I wish they extended it a little longer, like Dan-shim's reaction when Se-gye says to his grandfather that he only helped her out of pity, but overall, I feel like I have enough emotional stake in this relationship regardless.

The two leads are killing me

Both Wan Peng and Bie Thassapak Hsu are just killing me with the comedy bits. Six episodes in and they are still catching me by surprise with 'snort my drink out my nose' moments. Watching Fang Leng rehearse the role of 'romantic CEO lead' with a pillow was precious! And man, Wan Peng has totally surprised me with how good she is. I had only seen her in a later role as the tough sister in Love's Ambition (in which she was fantastic) but that was a more dramatic role and not so much comedy. Her comedic skill with expressions and body language and just moving around quietly to skewer a scene is wonderful. I'm so glad I decided to bing this comedy series, even if it is a few years old.
