fue entretenida por ratos, aun asi siento que falto algo mas, disfrute ver cada cap pero no m agradó tanto plot twist, considero que debieron alargar la serie a 16caps porque hubieron vacios en la historia que yo esperaba que toquen hasta el final pero no fue asiiu y wooseok son el sinónimo de belleza, una pareja grande visualmente asi que m hubiera gustado ver mas quimica😭 tenía expectativas con iu por su actuación en wlgyt, sin embargo en esta serie estuvo meh, no lograba expresar y transmitir el cariño de pareja en escenas románticastambien se me hizo bn rara la historia de ellos desde el cole, dando a entender que a ian le gustó desde el primer momento que la vió (1 vez) y desde ahi no volvieron a interactuar mas..... al final explica que le gustó por ser brillante y etc, mmm se la paso si despues hubiera buscado la manera o siquiera pensado en ella cuando le obligaron a contraer matrimonio, sin embargo fue ELLA la que se acercó, y por ganar estatus. luego mágicamente el recuerda q le gustaba??!;@ pienso que debieron meterle mas trasfondo, incluso despues sigue siendo meh, aceptable, esperaba ver como poco a poco empezaban a caer enamorados uno al otro, realmente hubiera disfrutado ver mas su desarrollo d pareja:( siento que tuvieron el potencial pero no lo aprovecharon, ig fue asi pq querian hacer la serie mas cortame hubiera gustado ver mas del mayordomo kim y las sirvientas tmb!! es triste pq todos en la residencia le agarraron cariño a hj so fast, y crearon una relacion bonita como para q despues ya no les den relevancia y aparezcan 5seg en pantallaal final siento que le faltaron historias por contar, personalmente me hubiera gustado ver a ian con su sobrino, la dinámica de pareja que tienen ian y hj luego de 3 años o en general enfocarsd mas en ellos....btw extrañaba ver a wooseok, tanto que hasta planeo volver a ver lovely runner, what a MAAAAN es lo unico que diré, love him sm.

i really hate when character's communicate…

i really hate when character's communicate but only convey half of the info, it's worse then not communicating - like what is the point?!? if u decided to talk, then put all ur cards on the table, ask & say everything - leave no stones unturned - not these 2. i get Pei is surprised that the person he loves & worries about, has suddenly grown suspicious enough to investigate him. but can u blame Yin Qi??? even if Pei doesn't know the reason, he was gaslighting Yin Qi & deflecting from himself. he keeps going on about safeguarding Yin Qi - but is Yin Zhou trustworthy? will he keep his word? no, so i don't get why he keeps going on & on about Yin Qi laying low & letting him keep colluding with Yin Zhou . he thinks he is smarter then Yin Qi, ironically he is stupider. at least the past Yin Qi was innocent & not interested in the palace intrigues. he just wanted to live a quite life writing poetry & hanging with his bff & sister. so him being naïve u can't fault - but Pei acting this way is moronic. *********************************also i don't get how or why that father (the moronic king) sent Yin Qi to the border in the past & would even take up that type of offer. the dude has fainted in almost every ep - yet he is the one that would/should be sent to the border? he should send that degenerate Yin Zhou. cause even without Yin Qi's men informing him & us that the King knows exactly what Yin Zhou get's up too.... we know that that King knows everything that is going on under his roof - he knows who his sons r & for him their infighting is building character or some such crap. especially when the outcome is Yin Zhou has succeeded in getting rid of 2 of his sons (that we know off). but maybe to him that shows that Yin Zhou is worthier to inherit the throne - donno. *******either way i wish the mains communicated & i also need Yin Qi to not trust his men blindly, Yin Zhou's buttboy is getting on my last nerve. he is smart otherwise he wouldn't survive under Yin Zhou, but i need Yin Qi to catch on ASAP. pity before he died he didn't see more of who was untrustworthy in the past ugh

A wedding and a funeral

Ye Xian again does the exact wrong thing with good intentions. He wants a chance to tell JinZhao his feelings and he hears hers. She beautifully and poignantly explained why they could never be. They are too similar even tho each would die for the other. They have a forged friendship that matters highly to her, but love as a partner was not part of it. Her mirror comparison of them was well said. They really are mirror images in many respects and she pointed them all out. She put it in clear considerate and truthful words so that he could understand it with no misunderstanding and realize tho not the relationship he wanted, his friendship was highly placed in her heart. Chen did the right thing sending him out on his portrait with one last warning to leave JinZhao alone. Going against the groom to be, Ye Xian is lucky he lived. The Marquis is a stately figure with his halberd. He looks every bit the commanding general in this pose. His wife realized something was off and found this was the last memory he had before dying. Gma Ji is having a chat with JinZhao about the Chen family members. She is giving her last advice to the young bride to be. The mirror scene where she sees her mother is a sweet detail, but I found the scene with gma the most impacting for me. Chen arrives in high style to claim his bride and as they are heading to his home a funeral procession is coming from the opposite direction. Ye Xian and Chen study each other a moment and as Chen prepares to make way Ye Xian chooses to make way instead. It was one gift he could give to JinZhao. Everyone is surprised as the funeral party steps aside and Chen bows in respect as they pass the Marquis’ coffin. Ye Xian got a glimpse of the bride, but JinZhao and her guard did not look. She wanted to make way out of respect for the dead, but YeXian spoke up first. The glee of Fu’s voice at the death of a war hero just😡🤬 They don’t want Ye Xian to get the title, and while I truly like him, he is too lost to his temper and emotions to handle power well. But I am fearful about who Fu wants and if he can persuade the young emperor to agree. XuanQing is slamming them back being all put out. He never did a thing for JinZhao except bask in her affection. He wasn’t even bold enough to return it.😝🙄 His nose is out of joint and he’s following the maid to see JinZhao when the episode ends. The maid has just learned the Marquis passed away and she’s running back to tell JinZhao. She is holding the whistle from Chen and may need to use it soon. YanWen is seeing Fu and Chen chatting and he also seems full of evil intent. JinZhao was awarded second madame title by the young emperor directly. There are already two ladies plotting for her when she’s in the Chen home. Lian is also plotting for Lan when JinZhao is not there to protect her. Even with two episodes today I find I want two more.

The Li Pei Yi character reaches new levels of iconic.

This episode kicks off with Pei Yi continuing to show how she is the absolute boss of all events happening. Her toying with the guards sent to arrest Luo Chen is masterful - especially after the way she toyed and took control of him! Next, her final revenge scene against Cui Min Zhong was so cold and badass it deserves to be shared as an isolated scene on YouTube for ages to come. But wait! There's more. She follows up THAT scene by boldly calling out the Emperor for HIS share of the blame and manipulating him as well! The air finally gets let out a bit when Consort Shu decides she will NOT run away with Pei Yi and will instead stay by the Emperor's side. It's not clear whether this is what Pei Yi expected all along or not. The subsequent scene of her and Xiao Huaijin having a playful snowball fight suggest that maybe it is as she seems so happy with how things turned out. As the episode wraps up the series, it's hard not to love some of the closure details. Obviously Wu Ren ascending to boss of the PIB and her relationship with Prosecutor Gu is an expected thing.. But it was also a nice touch to show Zhou Yudi mentoring young Yu Lan'er. The only thing left hanging is, of course, that they don't deal justice towards Prince Li Qiang, for his plotting against Consort Shu. I guess they will leave that for Season 2.

Holy crap! Li Pei Yi is just a master manipulator!

Wow. This episode shows just how powerful a schemer Li Pei Yi is - she totally manipulates EVERYBODY in this episode to get the result she wants. Her cold calculus doesn't even spare Xiao Hauijin - she uses him like a pawn just like she uses everyone else. This is like Iago (see Othello) or Ozymandias / Adrian Veidt (see Watchmen) level manipulation of events. It's almost scary to realize that she has this level of ability. This episode is a grand display of her playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. The moment when she looks over to spot Prince Li Qiang glaring at her and she raises her cup to him, pointing out that she now knows HE is the villain behind the attempt to frame Consort Shu - that was so cold and satisfying! It's only sad because so many soldiers on both sides died in the fighting that happened. But she had to force Cui Min Zhong to show his hand in rebellion.

Intervention and regrets

Fu’s smirk when he thinks he has his way is annoying,🤬 Wang is almost glued to him and he is every bit as irksome. Chen devised a plan to poison YeXian and bring on a heart attack. This had the Marquis let his guard down and he also had a physical break coughing up blood. Chen made plans with young emperor prior and his choking of Ye Xian in prison cohesively combined events so that Marquis and son could be taken home, Fu could appear magnanimous in letting them live and Wang couldn’t raise suspicion about Chen’s loyalty. This still let Fu bring evil to the Marquis’ home but it did curb it to allow them their reputation. JinZhao passes the pill to Ye aunt so that Ye Xian can heal. She begs him to stop pining for JinZhao and ultimately succeeds. The actor of Ye Xian so poignantly expresses his heart ache and pain. It will be hard for him to remain her friend, but I am hoping he succeeds. In spite of his stupidity with weapons, he would die for her in a heartbeat. QingLan tries to give meds to YeXian but he wants nothing to do with her. I hope this situation changes because she is a good match for him. Her frenemy stance with JinZhao will not go over well and her blabbering her engagement was a huge misstep, but I am hoping over time this will heal. Chen matriarch is not happy with this wedding. I wish she would meet JinZhao and judge with her eyes rather than gossip in ears. This seems a bit beneath her but I guess this is because her status goes through channels rather than directly. The Gu’s house looks like a marketplace with all the dowry gifts. Auntie was wise to keep Lian away but I am sure this let her notice Lan getting recognized by guests. Her quilt was really beautiful. XuanQing is back and making every excuse to put off his own wedding. With what he remembers from his past with JinZhao, I can see why he made the assumptions he did, but not going through his brother for the answers was wrong. I was surprised and pleased that she didn’t even bother looking at his correspondence and sent the servant back with a message to live well and move on as she already had. Her guard had the right of it as she chatted with JinZhao. The kite day was his chance to step up and he was too cowardly. He didn’t talk to her in person then so he doesn’t need to clear it up in person now. Good for JinZhao. Chen has thread the needle with Fu and his henchman Wang and won. The conflict up north still needs to be settled so that expedited things with the Marquis. The politician who pretends to care about the people had to make sure peace talks completed so he can continue the farce unchallenged. He’s really a good villain because I detest him on sight now. This cast does an excellent job of captivating the viewers with their character portrayals and interactions.👏🏻
