Toxic but addicting

I didn't realise i was addicted to the series until i finished the series. The story was so cute and fluffy at first but damn how things turned different.

I used to get equally agitated at both Lu feng and Yi Chen. So much miscommunication.

Of course my blood boiled when Lu feng kept Yi Chen with him against his will and had forced intimacy with him, until he almost lost him. Nothing justifies it. But both suffered. I know Yi Chen was in such a devastating situation with his mom and brother, but Lu feng also lost his father and everything to be with Yi Chen. I couldn't imagine how it must've been to just wait miserably and not being able to see your loved one.

Lu feng always showed up for Yi Chen. What if he stopped showing up. Yi Chen even after everything still loved Lu Feng, and that's how it happens in reality also with people. You tend to grow attached to people even if they do the unforgivable things.

But I was still so addicted to this series. Lu feng and Yi Chen fought so hard to get together, and suffered also. I lost count on how many times Yi Chen just walked away from Lu Feng.

It was hard watching Lu Feng getting treatment for Bipolar. But in the end, Lu Feng learnt to consider how Yi Chen feels like how he tried to get on him in office and instantly stopped thinking Yi Chen is afraid, until Yi Chen gave the green signal

Anyway, it was fun watching it. I'm gonna re-watch it again

Changed my pov of JBL

First of of all I am not a fan of JBL because my all time favourite is Thai bl because they have long duration and give what I want...
Where as JBL always had short duration and don't give that satisfactory scene (I am not talking about nc)
But this drama really changed my thoughts it was really good. It gives you everything you want like cuddle, kiss, compitition, lesson, friendship, motivation etc.
Something different about this drama is that they have the courage to do everything,at last the they tell their friend about their relationship was good..
I am telling you if Japan can make this type of drama I am ready to watch 🫶🏻💛
It is my first time writing a review... it is that good that I had to write it😅 Totally worth it...

(giugno 2026)

One Hundred "Huh?"s Later, I Was Completely Invested

📝 Review

(WARNING: Potential Spoilers — I’m Not Saving You from Any Emotional Damage)

This drama starts deceptively slow.

In fact, after hearing Shan Shan say "Huh?" for what felt like the fifth time in a row, I started questioning some of my life choices.

The good news is the "Huh?" moments never really stop.

The better news is the drama itself gets significantly better.

By the time I reached around episode ten, it felt like I'd already watched an entire drama's worth of character development, relationship progress, and emotional chaos. The pacing sneaks up on you. What initially feels simple gradually builds into something much more engaging than the premise suggests.

The story follows Xue Shan Shan and Feng Teng as they navigate a relationship complicated by wealth, status, family expectations, and enough insecurities to fill several office buildings.

The FL is sweet, hardworking, and easy to root for, but she also tested my patience more than once. Her insecurities are understandable given the circumstances, but there were moments where they felt pushed just a little too far. Not enough to ruin the character, but enough that I occasionally wanted to reach through the screen and shake some confidence into her.

Meanwhile, Feng Teng ended up being one of my favorite parts of the entire drama.

What impressed me most is that even after he falls in love, he never stops being Feng Teng.

He softens.

He grows.

He becomes more emotionally available.

But he never completely abandons the personality that made him who he was in the first place.

Far too many dramas turn a strong male lead into a completely different character once romance enters the picture. Boss & Me avoids that trap. His development feels natural rather than manufactured.

The supporting cast is where things become complicated.

I absolutely loved Feng Teng and his sister together. Their sibling dynamic added warmth and humor throughout the series and often grounded some of the more dramatic moments.

On the other hand...

The cousin and best friend drove me absolutely insane for a good chunk of the drama.

For people who were supposed to support Shan Shan, they spent an impressive amount of time making me question whether she needed enemies at all. Thankfully their attitudes improve later, but there were definitely stretches where I found myself rolling my eyes whenever they appeared.

Then we have Li Shu.

Good lord.

For most of the drama she operates like a one-woman manipulation factory.

Every time I thought she might finally stop scheming, she found a brand-new way to continue scheming.

Ironically, I actually started liking her more toward the end because she finally felt like a person instead of a walking obstacle.

One thing the drama tackles heavily is the rich-versus-poor dating mentality.

I hated it.

Not because it's unrealistic.

Because it's exhausting.

The constant social commentary about status, worthiness, and whether someone "belongs" with someone else based on income is one of my least favorite relationship obstacles in any drama.

The same goes for the criticism surrounding age-gap relationships involving older women and younger men.

The drama reflects those attitudes realistically, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy watching them.

By the middle of the series, I was fully invested.

By the end, I was surprised by how attached I'd become to characters that initially felt like trope templates.

My brain: "Why am I enjoying this so much?"

My emotions: "Because the characters actually work."

My snacks: disappeared somewhere around episode ten.

In the end, Boss & Me takes one of the most overused romance setups imaginable and somehow turns it into something memorable.

And somehow... it worked.

Argument Scene Portrayed by LingOrm is marvelous

The scene where Neen and Runch argue is full of emotions. There’s a Thai thing where the couple call themselves as Nong and Phi as an endearment. Then there is Khun and Chun of You and I in a more stranger way. Neen use Khun and Chun to refer herself and to Runch but when the argument gets too emotional, she started to go back and forth from calling Runch as Phi and Nong. It really portrayed how Neen loves Runch so much that even when she try to put up walls to protect her feelings after being said Divorce from her wife, in heated argument, her real feelings/Love comes forward.

this was a HUGE step up from pitbabe

i still love pitbabe but it eventually lacked a sort of something but GBYFD never bored me!! it always kept me on the hook and i always was jumping to the next episode. their acting was amazing and they were able to portray every emotion. pavel's acting especially made me cry with his sister (character) and the final ep. the story definitely had a stronger backbone than pit babe, although i did get lost on the whole relative thing and in the end forgot everything but i was still gripped!! pavelpooh will never bore me 💚

okay, i kind of feel like i need to say they were let down here by the way the story then turned. i was super invested with the storyline at first. it was serious and eerie and supernatural - all the things i enjoy from time to time!! however, as it went on, the story started drifting towards the romance department and essentially forgot about the story and decided to throw a bunch of nonsense at it. i was super confused when bom was revealed as the killer AND related to thup - like what?? they never even explored that storyline anyway. why did atikhun specifically need thup for the ritual if it could've just been anybody born on saturday. the premise and idea of it is so so good and i HEAVILY f'ed with it up until around the time King's dad started getting involved and it all just seeped through cracks and eventually became romance.
i still appreciate the acting of all the actors and i think they did an amazing job!! i became connected to the characters.

its a shame that in the end the plot was a whole bunch of nonsense but i will never say i didn't enjoy the acting! i loved them so much, give them back 💚

Do NOT Watch

The first 3-4 episodes were actually quite enjoyable, especially the comedy. Unfortunately, that's where all the good parts ended. As the story progressed, it kept creating more plot holes and inconsistencies instead of building a compelling narrative.

Great Cast, but terrible writing. It felt like one of those shows that hooks viewers with strong opening episodes, only to completely lose direction afterward. Lately, I've noticed this trend in several K-dramas - great beginnings followed by a steep decline in quality. It almost feels like bait, and I regret spending my time on this one.

Time for a break from K-dramas🙄

Not every drama needs ROMANCE and it's OKAY

See, not every drama leads have to end up together or develop a romance arc .
Friendship is sufficient enough , I loved the relationship between the four people when they sat down and worked on the case , a shame we didn't get the group scenes so much .
The old man needed more love; come on, he did ALOT for dong baek
HEHE that junior guy who had a crush on Superintendent Han would make a nice couple.
Also, the detective already had someone he loved in the past

About the story:
It was trackable at first but then after ep 10 THEY KEPT ADDING CHARACTERSSS , so hard to keep track of who is who , too many names . But still I managed to, and the killer was someone I didn't think of so it was GOOD
and NGL I am with the eraser , our justice system is shit and favours the rich people who get away with every horrible thing and the poor has to suffer.
