The acting was solid in this. Gong Yoo's portrayal of Kim Shin was excellently done, especially in the finale. Deep emotions yet not emo throughout.

Second lead relationship definitely more ship-worthy than the first lead relationship in this drama.

To me the story dragged, the chemistry was quietly simmering throughout in a beautifully shot drama. Rather than situational conflicts, the drama was more about character interactions so relied more heavily on proper acting. Fortunately, the leads were well-cast and met those expectations.

Had to force myself to finish this one. To me slightly overrated but still a good show and worth watching if you have time on your hands.

I watched City Hunter after watching Healer and came out slightly disappointed.

I think if you watched City Hunter when it came out you would have been blown away by how good and unique it is but newer shows steadily improve in writing, acting, and execution.

LMH was decent in this drama. I didn't understand the love line, but it was decently done. Also happy that PMY was a strong female lead!

The "city hunting" was very satisfying and one of the reasons why I watched this all the way through. There's nothing we as drama watchers love more than overcoming injustice and revealing the truth to all.

Also the character conflicts were interesting, especially between the main lead and his adoptive father.

I really respect dramas that try to incorporate it all, from crime fighting to action to romance. City Hunter is worth a watch if you like these genres all combined into one satisfying show!

Also, perhaps I am spoiled by American TV but I just thought what they showed as the Blue House and president were very unrealistic? Won't say any more here for risk of spoiling but curious at what everyone else thinks.

I really enjoyed this drama throughout. Lots and lots of laugh out loud moments from Yoon Shi Yoon's excellent portrayal of the character who travels forward in time and finds himself quite outdated.

The main love line was cute. To me I didn't see that much chemistry but had good dialogue.

I was satisfied by the ending and how the wrap up resolved the time traveling aspect.

Also another thing to note is that there were no villains in the show. The quasi-villain/antagonist in retrospect was quite cute in how he was portrayed.

After watching this show, it made me want to watch more shows about the k-entertainment industry!

THIS IS THE SHOW TO WATCH IF YOU ARE INTO FIRST LOVES AND GIDDY ROMANCE

Lee Sung Kyung was not a convincing weightlifter to me, although I did appreciate that she put on weight for this drama. Other than that, I loved the whole drama from beginning to end.

Rather than annoying conflicts that don't get resolved, what you will get from the show instead is a lot of satisfying giddy moments from all of the cuteness. Cuteness in the leads' relationship, which has me smiling ear to ear, cuteness in the friendships and the family relationships to the relationship between athlete and coach.

Can't say enough good things about this drama. Don't watch if you are looking for an intricate plot line and heart thumping action. Instead, get a cup of hot chocolate and curl up to this show and enjoy it for all it has to offer.

Highlights / uniqueness of the show:
- the sound effects had me cracking up all the way through (you will have to watch to see what I am talking about)
- natural chemistry and skinship between leads as the relationship progresses
- one of the best portrayals for female college friendships I've seen in recent dramas. cute bromances also

No critiques for this show other than casting an unbelievable weightlifter. But I fell in love with the actress LSK after watching this (who knew pouty lips can be so adorable) and she is simply beautiful. Both leads were beautiful to look at and fulfilled my eye's need for candy :)

I was fully satisfied after the show and only wished there was more cuteness to watch!

A lot of people criticized Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung's acting in this. But to me the weakest part of this entire drama is the nonsensical writing. With bad writing, it doesn't matter if the actors can act or not.

Misses:
- NJH's acting just didn't have enough gravitas to portray a thousand+ year old water god. Although he did try.
- Actually, non of the gods were given reasonable interpretations as beings that have been around for thousands of years. Kind of like watching the American "Supernatural"'s minor gods (immature and powerless)
- Did not fully explore the cool fantasy aspects (use of godly power on earth)
- Habaek's quest was either poorly written or poorly executed, because no satisfaction to viewer whatsoever (in other words, I was not invested in what Habaek was on earth to do, like, at all)
- loveline lacked chemistry (which has already been criticized by many)

Gave the music a higher rating because I enjoyed the music at the opening of every ep, haha.

It's a pity this show is compared to Goblin a lot because to me they are two completely different shows. Goblin asks more existential questions, while BOTWG is more about human love, both family and romantic. Well, theoretically, if BOTWG was better executed, could have been about human love.

Overall, a show that had a lot of wasted potential.

Korean version of "Frequency."

A 100x times better than the CW-adaptation (girl and her father in the past communicated via radio).

A lot of people loved Kim Hye Soo in her role as the main female lead but I really did not enjoy her acting in this. Her eyes are expressive for sure but too much eye acting made it feel she was a creepier character than she really was. I enjoyed the main male leads' acting in this

The wrap-up was satisfying. A show I've been consistently recommending to my non-kdrama watching friends as a hope to get them into watching kdramas!

It's usually really hard for me to watch shows with little to no romance but this show succeeded by making me watch it all the way through.

Overall, a really solid show if you are into great writing, execution, and acting. One of the most recommendable shows of 2016 for sure.

Pleasantly surprised by this drama! Felt the first few eps dragged and was a bit predictable but as we moved further along the story the character interactions really pulled me in.

LMH's acting definitely improved a lot and I can finally understand why he has hoards of fangirls (sorry LMH for not jumping on the fangirling until now!) JJH is an adorable mermaid, the best. I liked how the characters stayed consistent throughout the show and also grew.

Highlights:
- all the cute romantic moments between the two leads had me swooning
- cute tie-in with their past lives
- beautifully shot show
- supporting characters were a riot and I almost never fast forwarded through
- the SFX and OST were amazing!
- cameo from JJS was the best cameo I've ever seen
- ending was satisfying
- villains did a great job acting

I would have liked to see more LMH planning out scams but the story focused on the romance than action. I thought the overall show was well-paced

I didn't expect to like this show as much as I did but glad I finally watched it!

There's a lot of comparison between Signal and Tunnel for being both crime dramas. I think the female lead in Tunnel is slightly stronger, in how she was written, although I am undecided if I like her or not. Male lead in Signal was less frustrating to watch. Signal was a better-written show. Both executed very well with strong music. Ultimately, though, I would recommend Signal to my friends over this show.

Watch this if you're in the mood for a crime drama. The first half are more procedural and more enjoyable to watch, as the second half is focused on wrapping up the major storyline.

Unfortunately, this drama doesn't make it to the top of my list for the following reasons:
- Lack of logic in dialogue. Many moments where I'm scratching my head wondering why people aren't more suspicious.
- Why do they never wear gloves at the crime scenes?
- Some parts were not fully explained and one supporting character dropped off the show with little explanation.
- Some of the "reveal" scenes made me laugh because they were overdone (yet satisfying)

Highlights:
- Strong acting. It felt like the actors made the most from the script.
- Unique premise. I love the fantasy aspect of traveling forward in time and discovering while new technologies have been formed, the human psyche hasn't.

The loveline in this drama was well done for its subtlety, which is fresh in the kdrama world.

I haven't watched that many crime dramas yet, so I see there is a lot of potential in korean dramas. Overall can't quite compare to CSI and the like due to plot holes but stronger than American TV shows in the character development and overarching plots. Looking forward to watching more of them!

This drama has a lot of hype for having a bit of everything: romance, action, thriller. It is definitely in a category of its own because of it. Story flowed all the way through with interesting scenes, great dialogue, a lot of heart. Acting and chemistry between the actors were on point as well, which made it all the more enjoyable to watch.

Watch this if you are in the mood for a mystery waiting to be unveiled, a swoon worthy romance, spunky female lead, and time for binging!

DON'T!! Don't you dare watch it!
This thing was crap. . . I actually tried it because of the main character since most of his dramas were nice, but this one was very dissapointing. Let me put it in a sentence:

"Two guys love same useless girl for no apparent reason and nation at stake but winning the useless girl's heart is much more important than the people sacrificing themselves."
Seriously, it begun very good but as soon as that girl with fake smile showed up, the nation was doomed, friendship was doomed, parents were doomed. . . Plz, for the sake of not making yourself feel stupid, don't watch.

This drama was refreshing and very informative. I loved each case in the drama besides one (cause of the actors in the case.) but overall was pretty good. It was gripping and I watched one after the other, can't wait for a second season. The actors were very good and I cried a few times ;)
The babies were superrrr cute and it was seriously realistic, I was amazed. Definitely worth watching!!!

A fun, lighthearted drama with a cute romance but weak side characters.

Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won! They both carried their parts well and I looked forward to their scenes the most; with their hilarious banter and playful romance, their relationship felt believable and I thought that they meshed well as actors. Park Seo Joon plays the line between adorable and dorky while being super manly and hot so well, I'm not sure how he does it, but I think this might be my favorite role for him. Kim Ji Won's character is a lot of fun in this one, a female lead that will not be trifled with but has a good sense of humor is always a win for me. Their relationship starts off where they are both close friends of many years but start to realize that the feelings they have for each other might be more than just friendship. Their relationship development made perfect sense, I felt the slow progression from friends to more than friends was done really well. Ae Ra & Dong Man are definitely the highlight of this drama and in my opinion, the reason to watch. Plus some shirtless scenes with Park Seo Joon, I mean come on.

The second leads relationship was very unique in theory in that it showed an aspect of relationships that I haven't really seen portrayed in any of the kdramas I've watched; however, in reality their relationship is super boring and their characters super frustrating! Joo Man is the most melancholic, uninteresting character which made the actions that his character took, even more obnoxious and pathetic. They didn't make him likeable enough from the beginning, so *spoiler alert* him riding the line of cheating on his girlfriend for 10 episodes was just frustrating and made him out to be just a lame guy with no will-power. If I was more invested in him/if his character was more interesting, then perhaps I would've rooted for him to do the right thing or even have been heartbroken when he continually fails to do the right thing and be honest. Seol Hee wasn't as bad, but I still found her completely uninteresting, and even though she was the victim and the one I should've been feeling sorry for, I couldn't have cared less.

As for the story, the main plot revolves around Dong Man and Ae Ra work towards achieving their dreams alongside recognizing that they have feelings for each other. Nothing too original, but the momentum was maintained fairly well throughout. One character that bothered me from the very beginning was the landlord lady (Jin Hee Kyung), she would just appear out of nowhere and be super nosy and controlling. But to my dismay, towards the end of the drama they even tried to give her this whole storyline which felt so unnecessary and was totally thrown in last minute. It didn't make sense the way we were all supposed to care about her character just because she had relations to the main leads.

Overall, I do think this was an easy watch and worth it if you like romance or are a fan of Park Seo Joon or Kim Ji Won. I would recommend skipping over Seol Hee & Joo Man's scenes however...

Emotional ? Rollercoaster

The only reason I gave this drama a chance was because of Gong Yoo. I've been his fan since Coffee Prince and haven't seen him in many K drama since. Although the story starts off a little slow, it quickly picks up and draws you into the main characters lives and issues. With this drama I laughed, I cried (and I mean ugly cried) along with the characters. I would highly recommend this drama to most people if for no other reason than the OST, however this drama (in my opinion) had everything. Two thumbs up!??

This review may contain spoilers
First of all, the reason why I watched this drama is that the synopsis said this was the "Chinese Gossip Girl" which I later found out was not the case. I watched Eternal Love and really liked the actors which so happened to be in this drama, so I decided to give it a try.

Be warned and

SPOILER (kind of)

You're going to be disappointed if you're expecting this be like Gossip Girl on The CW.

This show is NOT like Gossip Girl. There was no mysterious "Gossip Girl" who exposed some of the character's secrets. Yeah, there's a lot of drama that happens between the characters. There were a few times where people gossiped on their phones about main characters. The drama has the wealthy/popular/beautiful characters but they aren't really b*tchy or super egotistical. Most of the cast play students, but they're university students....and that's about where the similarities with Gossip Girl ends.

Was it terrible though? For me, even though the plot wasn't what I expected, it wasn't that bad either so it didn't really waste my time.

The cast did pretty well with the acting. I have to give credit to them since most of the actors here were rookies at the time and I think for some, it was their debut drama.

Overall, I think they did a pretty good job!

I rewatched the drama and enjoyed it more since I really like a few of the actors after watching some of their more recent dramas (Dilireba, Zhang Vin Vin, Gao Vengo, etc).

Edit: I forgot to mention that the order of the episodes is really weird. I'm not sure if that's how the drama was directed or purposely edited. But I think the last few episodes don't match up with what happened previous episodes. I don't know if that's because I missed something important or if the people who uploaded the show put it in the wrong order.

For those who need English subs, I don't know if this show has been subbed because I watched this on Youtube which had no subtitles. I also couldn't find any other drama sites that have this show on, but if there is, I think it would be raw.
