It took me a little bit to finish this epic drama (5 days to be exact), but I couldn't wait to write this review after I did finish it!

Story/plot: -10- This drama had a cute, fun, and catch-worthy storyline! I absolutely loved how it was centered around swimming, mixed with life issues and dramas. I was intrigued from the very beginning to the very end, and although there were some parts that were dragged out, I couldn't really blame them; after all, they had to fill up 36-37 episodes... Even so, every episode hooked me in, and made me stay up late every night, telling myself "just one more episode" (even though we all know, that is never true :P). The ending is definitely NOT a downer! This ending was settled and it flowed smoothly and nicely.

Acting/cast: -10- LEMME TELL YOU! THIS CAST=PERFECTION! Xiong Dylan (Tang Yi Bai)+Tan Song Yun (Yun Duo)=so cute!!! They are the ULTIMATE couple and they were made to be the main leads. I squealed at their height difference every time, and their interactions on and off camera are also goals! Other than the main leads, I also loved how there were other cute couples around them like, for example, Huang Sheng Chi (Qu Rui Feng) and Wang Zi Xuan (Xiang Yang Yang). Not to mention, there were a lot of good lookin' guys in this drama! You need the right cast to carry out a good storyline and THIS CAST MADE EVERYTHING FANTASTIC!

Music: -10- This is my first drama where I truly payed attention and appreciated the song selection, and this is because the song selection for this drama is so memorable! Every song truly matched their placement during the moments throughout the drama. If anyone wants to take a sneak peak at a song example, here is my favorite, "Crossing the Pacific", which could be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY65i3DP9WA

Rewatch value: -8- Although I gave many complements about this drama, my rewatch value would have to be an 8. This is because since there were a lot of surprising twists and turns, rewatching the whole drama from beginning to end wouldn't allow the full attention this drama truly deserves. I will, however, re-watch all the cute moments the characters had with one another and beware! there are A LOT of cute moments where I guarantee you will squeal when watching!

Overall: -9.5- Overall, this drama was a cute and refreshing one to watch for me. My only downer is probably the rewatch value, but I still advice this to everyone because of all the positive things I stated above, from the storyline to the music, this drama made everything fit well altogether.

Thank you to everyone who read this relatively long review, but I hope whoever is reading this to give "My Mr. Mermaid" a try, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)

Chào for Now!
Lily L.

The first word that comes to my mind to define this drama is UNBEATABLE.

STORY: This story about the unconditional (but really unconditional!) love for our family and the bonds we create with the people we care about the most and all of the choices we make in life to stay true to our values and upbringing is told mixing the strongest emotions (love, sadness, happiness, compasion, generosity, pain) in a way you get hooked from the beginning to end enjoying every minute of the 52 episodes.

CAST: is it possible to have all the actors behave so naturally and comfortably with each other that they look like a real family? Yes, because that's what you get with this drama.
Interactions between parents/children, siblings, in-laws... all of them where relationship goals!
Prepare to laugh non-stop, cry a river, and fall in love deeply.

ACTING: if I have to praise each of the actors, I would be writing all day.
Enough to say it's a pleasure to watch every one of them. Each actor created and developed a character that'll remain in our hearts and minds forever. We all know how difficult it is to find a drama where you can like everyone (actually, it was my first time!).

Anyway, it is impossible for me not to mention the actors that, in my opinion, contributed greatly to make this story an addiction for many:

Lee Yoo Ri. No way you're gonna forget her character here... Hye Yeong ruled in every way. A real goddess.

Lee Joon and Jung So Min: They were so good! I put them together because I find a parallelism between these two actors. They are very versatile and take risks with the roles they choose (and yet... they don't always get the recongnition they deserve). In this drama they shine separately and when they interact with each other. It'll be difficult to get over them.

MUSIC: It suited the scenes so perfectly that every song became a classic and an addiction as well.

REWATCH VALUE: here I'll repeat what I put in a comment a couple of eps before the drama ended. "I can watch this drama for the rest of my life.I wouldn't mind spending ep after ep watching this family's daily mundane activities..."
So, yes. It's worth rewatching over and over.

OVERALL: the best drama I've watched and my favourite. I confidently say it's flawless. PERFECT 10.

What made me watch the movie was the interesting trailer. I saw so many recognizable faces and some of my favorite actors, that's why I decided to watch it. The story is quite unique and charming, I suspected a different ending, but oh well, it was a twist of some sort for these type of romance films.

The leading actress was amazing and I believe that this movie was one of her best acting performances. I would strongly recommend to watch this movie only for the cinematography and the acting, just to see some of the already-seen faces of the Korean drama industry. However, I wouldn't particularly say that this movie touched me or made me rethink about it at night. There were so many scenes that I would've loved the writers to add or correct. In my opinion, there are far better romance tear-shedder movies out in this world.

Well it's good when you don't have another drama to watch / have a lot of free time.
I will give the PLOT 3.0 sorry but the Story could be more Interesting if the Autor build/give more relationship time/scene between Tomoya and Asami. (NOT ONLY THE KISS AND SEX SCENE)

I think he realize his feeling pretty late and pretty sudden!
The Actors and Actress are Greats and I find their kiss scene pretty cute.

+Like because the Leads are good and they suit the role. I really love Tomoyo personality for his love to his lover. I like how they make main leads realize their feeling and why Reiko was the turning point of their relationship from friend to lover.

-Dislike less screen time between Tomoya and Asami. :(

FACT IS: Its depend on how you defined love between sex and real feeling as a LOVER.

I hope that I didn't spoil the story.

I was on a flight looking for films to watch. I like South East Asian Movies so I always browse the Chinese/Korean/Japanese movies available to watch. I liked the premise right away. Based on a true story it was a light comedy that one can relax watching.

The story is about a group of Japanese High Schoolers coming together to participate in cheerleading competition in the US and the process, the struggles, the challenges they had to go through to get there. The movie is in theory just another cheerleading film, one who happens to take place in Japan. There's nothing new about that but Japan doesn't have a long-standing tradition in cheerleading when compared to the US the Japanese culture is very different from the Western Culture in the broad sense of the expression, not the literal one, therefore it's inspiring. It shows that determination and hard-work can make dreams come true but that's not something new either.

The acting was good, nothing exceptional but good as was the music to put it simply.

Overall it was a nice comedy, light, breezy, fluffy and entertaining!

Story
The story was very entertaining and I had no problems pressing the next button. It's very difficult to come across a time travel drama nowadays which is one of my fav genres. Despite the Low Budget production, the drama had nice cgi, and there were no unnecessary scenes or characters. The female lead character can be irritating at times but overall it was a good drama compared to a lot of others I have watched this year, however it can't be compared with Eternal Love for sure, which is my all time fav.

Acting/Cast
I dun think the male actor was good looking at all and he didn't win me over with his acting. Unfortunately Mark Chao set a very high standard in terms of average looks with charisma, I fell in love with MC's character and although initially I felt he wasn't good looking, with every episode he looked even more handsome and at the end he was the most handsome guy to me that ever stared in any TV series this year. As for the female lead, her acting was moderate. I think her maid was a better actress. Overall what made me watch finish this series was the story.

Music
Music was good and sound track was nice, very appropriate for this drama.

Rewatch value
I certainly won't be watching this again, however it will be one of my TOP fav dramas this year.

As much as I love Yamazaki Kento, I think that he wasn't really suited for this cheerful, happy-go-lucky character. Rather than him, I think someone like Chiba Yudai would play this part better.

Other than that, I don't see many flaws. The story is quite different from the anime, but not more than expected. After all, it's pretty hard to copy a story exactly as is.

There's nothing wrong with the soundtrack, and I loved the fact that they added the OP song of the anime

If you're hesitating whether or not to watch - just watch it. As mentioned in other reviews, the ending is a disappointment but watch it for the sake of falling in love with Sungjae's character.
Story: The story is quite lit. There are so many cool, badass moments as well as pure comedy and touching scenes. If we don't take into account the ending, the story will be ranked high but the writers clearly thought that the story was becoming too predictable so they completely twisted it around, breaking the hearts of many. Prepare to be disappointed. The romance aspect of this show is completely absurd.
I wouldn't say that Tae Kwang was a second male lead. Tbh, it feels like he gets the same if not more screentime than Yi Ahn. This makes things much more unpredictable.

Acting: I've completely fallen in love with Yook Sungjae. His character is so lovable. So so lovable. Applaud the writers for his character development.Tae Kwang was the only character in the love triangle that I genuinely believe was in love. In some Kdramas you have those moments where the prince saves the princess or something and it's the turning point where the character realises they're in love. I couldn't sense that from Yi Ahn or Eun Bi. You. Will. Love. Sungjae.

Kim So Hyun is so cool. It gives you actual shivers when you see a scene where the twins are together (as she plays both). It's to the point where I had to google whether Kim So Hyun was actually a twin because she's so amazing. The antagonist too omg when she smirked I just wanted to punch her face. You'll hate her.

Music: I wanna reset... I wanna reset... so damn good.

Watch it. If you want skip the last episode. Watch it because you'll fall in love with Yook Sungjae.

Many people say that this has no plot, and I will agree. It's pretty random and it doesn't go by the book, nor the description the show has provided. However, even though that's a disappointment there is still a lot of joy in watching this.

STORY: The story isn't something I expected. I expected the actually plot of the manga, yet I got something different. It's not a bad thing though because different is good. The love between two main characters was something I've been never seen before, so it was a great watch on that part.

CAST: They were all pretty good looking, and they all had valuable parts. I applaud them for doing such a good job.

MUSIC: Songs were pretty adorable, but sometimes they got a bit upsetting that is if you know what I mean?

- I wouldn't rewatch it unless I'm really bored and in need of some romantically made comedy,

Overall this was a good watch and I'm not really complaining with how things turned out.

If we talk about this drama the first thing that comes to mind that it is a family drama. So many people will judge it only by that. Plus it has 52 episodes...
What they will miss at first glance is this most amazing story told by this amazing group of actors.
It is beautifully written and produced. It gives really good feelings for the heart to experience.
The story is different. It isn't the typical family drama we see. It has a unique story line to it. And from the very first episode it has you hooked, lined and your done. It's funny, it's relatable, it's super sweet and romantic (ah my heart). When I watched this I kept on thinking this is how families should be, siblings should be and relations. This drama shows how much the little things means when your with the people you love. It doesn't only resolved around the family but the people around it. We see this different age of people from the grandmom to Min Ha (high schooler) and couples, parents, siblings, in-law's with their struggles and how they over comes it. It's a story that's written for everyone to enjoy. And the ending was so beautiful!
The actors are amazing. All of them deserves a round of applause. I love them all and they did such an amazing job with their respected roles. But my special call goes to the amazing actress Lee Yoo Ri who was just damn right AWESOME. I love her! I love her! She was great. She is great. I love others too (Lee Joon - God he is so cute!) they were all awesome and to the point with their acting. I can't even think those character's being played by others.
The music is so so sweet. Love them all!
Totally going to re-watch it. More then once. I have to because I miss them already!
It's an amazing drama. Don't let the "52 episodes and family drama" stop you. Because at the end of it you will wish it had 100 or more episodes. Because at this moment I do and I know you will too.. So please give this a try!

Story: 8.5
I enjoyed the story completely. Based on a manga, this talks about two people are forced to room together, and slowly fall in love. Though it's cliche as it is, I think it handles itself very well. Do I think the last couple of episodes were necessary? Not completely, but I did enjoy them noneless. It's’ not a long drama, with only 17 episodes, but sometimes you wish to see more.

Acting/Casting: 10.0
As far as casting goes, this one is very well casted in the female lead as well as the male lead. Both could portray the emotions needed in the circumstances. I think this drama especially showed Fukuhara Haruka to play the complicated emotions of masking someone’s sadness in the eyes of others until alone. She did a wonderful job, and I don’t think I could find someone else to play her as well as she did.

Music: 9.0
The music matched well with the drama or rather the lack of music at points. It set the mood for the future parts of the episodes, and made some scenes funner, at least for me. Though some of the tones where just a little high pitched for me, but that is completely objective.

Rewatch Value: 8.5
I think like every teen drama this is completely one of those one that most people decided if they like or not in order to rewatch. Unlike some that you may love on the first time, but hate the second, this one can withstand years of viewing. So for this the rewatch value I think would be high as compared to other teen dramas.

The Bride of Habaek is one of those dramas they could have done so much more with it.

Each character was not used to its full potential. The romance was okay, but it could have been so much more. To me the main plot was never really fully used.

You take the character role of Mu Ra / He Ra. They made her more like a 2 year old spoiled child throwing a tantrum all until the end.

Like I said so many holes so many things they could have done yet didn't. It is really sad because the had an awesome cast .

Would I watch again? yes

Was the music great? love the music it was awesome

Overall I am giving it a 7 mostly because I love the cast and the music.

This is literally the first time that a slow burn really did it for me in a drama. Usually I feel like they could put people together a lot faster. Sure, that could have happened here too, but I'm not sure I would have been so in their corner otherwise. The two characters turn into a married couple completely without realizing it, piece by piece, and I was totally here for it.

Our hero is not an alpha, and I love alphas. That being said, our dear hero isn't a pushover either. And as competent as our heroine was in the office, at home she was a complete disaster, which I appreciated. They really shined in their respective roles as boss/employee and then flipped with housekeeper/housekept (is that a word? It should be).

That being said, there were parts that kept this from being perfect. I wasn't a fan of the secondary couples' screen time. There's a problem that gets resolved a little too handily, in my opinion, but overall? You will not regret watching.

You will like this drama if: you're a fan of Republican-era dramas, like it when the guy falls first and the girl is a bit slower, love big (slightly over) dramatic twists, and are a bit forgiving.

The drama starts out pretty solid. We see a conflict between the two main characters, then go back to explain how they got to that point. I'm always a fan of that, since it catches your interest right away. Our hero falls hard and fast—almost a little too fast, though part of that is belatedly explained. Our heroine struggles with equating her feelings for him to who he is to other people; a warlord.

There were really good points to this drama. I liked the story for the most part. The acting was dramatic, but whatever, when I'm in a certain mood I like that. I even liked the part where the hero made a decision of asshole proportions, because it caused REAL drama, the kind of thing I'm totally here for.

What kept me from loving this drama was that bits of it were overdone, even for a melo. There were also parts that dragged on. I felt that they could have cut down on chunks of episodes and created a really good, solid drama.

I won't say that you should or shouldn't watch it. Just be aware that the drama has flaws that might impact your enjoyment.
