Warning! Long Review/Reaction/Opinion

First of all, the drama title caught my attention since I’m very much in love with fairytales ever since.
From the start, I don’t have too much expectation from the drama since I know the story line is already a cliché – rich guy falling in love with poor girl. The only twist is that she has four knights in shining armor. But in my opinion, it’s three knights only.

PLOT
As I mentioned, plot is already a cliché. The development for me is very slow. I find some episodes boring but I still keep on watching, hoping it will develop sooner. I’m bothered by the missions given by rich grandpa. Is it only 3 missions? After the trip mission, what’s next? The 3 grandsons don’t even get closer after the 3rd mission. They just get closer on the process. The 4th mission I believe is just an excuse of Ha Won. The ending proves that this is indeed a fairytale with a “Happily ever after”.

CHARACTERS
I love the characters since I knew most of them especially Jung Shin – CNBLUE Fanatic here. :)
The main female lead is not so beautiful but definitely cute and with lot of charms. I believe, she gave justice to who Cinderella is.

Until now I’m calling Jung II Woo as the “Scheduler”. Yeah, I knew him since 49 Days and I knew how good an actor he is. It’s regretted that he can’t show his 100% skills since this is just a very light drama. Nevertheless, there’s indeed chemistry between him and Ha Won that you should definitely watch for.

I find it really hard to watch Ahn Jae Hyun! As if I’m controlling myself to fall in love with him more. Haist! If only he’s not yet married. Well, I still cheer Ahn Jae Hyun from behind. Let’s get back to his character. I just don’t get it after his broadcasted confession with Ha Won. He had 180 degree character change. And his story just revolved with Hye Ji afterwards. He confessed that he like Ha Won but he didn’t give justice to that confession. He got rejected, so what? He can fight for it or formally accept defeat. But atleast he should do something and don’t let that scene left hanging. He just switch right away to Hye Ji. Although I knew he love Hye Ji from the start but I felt that his confession to Ha Won is somewhat true as well.

Jung Shin! The so called “Avatar” of his CNBLUE brothers. Haha. I find his character very genuine. Actually, I still find Jung Shin in his character as Seo Woo. I’m wondering how his fellow CNBLUE reacts everytime they watch him. I love Jung Shin but there’s nothing too much to say about his character in this drama.

I also knew Son Naeun way back WGM stunt with Taemin of Shinee. I am quite surprise that she also acts. Is this her first time acting? If yes, I will forgive her poor acting skills. She has a lot more to improve if she really wants to pursue this field. I find her character a nuisance in this drama. I think it’s better if she just played a real antagonist. Maybe, she’ll be appreciated more that way. I felt that even without her character, the drama will still go on as it is.

The fourth knight but a not so knight at all, Secretary Yung Soung. IMHO he is the knight of the rich grandpa and not by Ha Won. :) I don’t know why they include him as the fourth knight but we can’t barely feel his presence as Ha Won's knight at all.

OVERALL
If you are just looking for a feel good drama without any high expectations, I will recommend this one. It’s not bad at all and it’s still worth the 16 episode watch.

I really enjoyed this daily drama, I was immersed in it for an entire week ^_^ I was deeply invested in the story of Shin Ae and Young Min.

The story is about the love and lives of two women from different classes.

Cast: Young Min - At first I didn't really think much of him other than he was a playboy and a scallywag of sorts - at one point however I started to find a few things cute about him and his character - the first time was in a karaoke bar - they way he looked at that girl ^_^ I guess that's where I started to grow a certain fondness of his character at. Several episodes later I started seeing some real potential in him (even though he was still a scallywag and a playboy - he at the same time seemed to have some sort of innocence to him) ^^ and after episode 68 or so I got really really attached to him and his character - His character then became everything to me in this drama and I was eager to watch his development and story unfold ^_^ His character never proved me wrong.
Shin Ae - the housemaids daughter, she's had/has issues with the daughter of the house Min Ah since they were in middle school - so they are friendemies so to speak. Shin Ae doesn't like her and Min Ah looks down on her (even though inside she's jealous). Shin Ae develops a crush on Min Ah's boyfriend (before she knew he was Min Ah's bf) so we see her wavering in her feelings for her crush. At first I too was not sure if I shipped her with him or not... but after some episodes and things happening I started to ship her with Young Min instead lol. Shin Ae is a very strong and resilient person but she's also soft and gets hurt. I wish she wouldn't "run away" from things as often as she did but she did always manage to get back up fast.
Min Ah - she has been in a long time relationship with Jung Min and loves him despite her mothers opposition. Things happen and life goes on but her love for him never stopped. She also became friends with Shin Ae - they were close enough anyways to care about each others lives and give each other advice. It was a nice development to see.
Jung Min - He was sweet and nice in the beginning but also a bit cold and indifferent. His character was confusing early on - I couldn't figure out if he was wavering in his feelings or not - but time proved that so... in the second half of the drama he was hell bent on revenge - completely blinded by it.
And then we have Shin Ae's mother, brother, and best friend - Her mom was nice but a bit too quick to judge and sometimes wouldn't listen and only spoke (which to be honest was annoying), her brother was a pathetic guy during most of the drama - he matured a little bit later on (but not a lot) - I was however ok with him when he was with Young Min lol - and her best friend was also her brothers girlfriend, she tended to side with her boyfriend over her friend most of the time. :/
Young Min's mother was a really rude and mean woman with hilarious expressions that unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) made you unable to hate her completely b/c no matter the mean and cruel things she'd do to Shin Ae, Jung Min, Young Min and others her facial expressions made it funny and a bit ridiculous. Young Min's father was a kind and respectable man who I really liked ^^ He is how I could see Young Min turning into. Jung Min's mother (Young Min's aunt) was your average mother - neither mean nor nice - she followed the money and whined a bit but was overall a decent and somewhat likeable character. Min Ah's mother cared about her business first and foremost which ends up hurting her daughter time and time again - she cares about her daughter but always put her business first.
Side characters: Hwa Young (a woman who interfered in more than one life), Baek Ki Ha (Hwa Young's Man) and Baek's mother (an evil woman).

Music: I only recall one song but I really liked it (it was the ending song).

Re-watch value: I think it's worth re-watching (at least I might re-watch Shin Ae and Young Min's scenes again).

This is one fantastic movie I highly recommend. I'm such a fan of Cha Seung Won. Packed with serious action and life struggles. Neither supersedes the other. You'll get both in equal dose. With all the very public high profile "successful?" gender switches that's been going on lately this drama is also a very timely one but you keep in mind this is not a Docu-drama on the subject of transgender. It's a cop and gangster movie. But CSW not you're typical Cop. This Cop has issues with his sexuality. But it's only 1 of a few story threads in this movie. Friendship, mob/gang war, it's here.

This movie sucked me in and didn't let go. The action is sharp and slick and on point beyond words my lower jaw just dropped. CSW's acting is so pure and true to the kind of life(style) he's trying to depict giving a small but clear insight into the struggles and sacrifices millions of people with this issue face everyday. To be honest this issue belatedly switching genders is not one I've ever turned my mind to. I hear and see it all around and pretty much dismiss it as it's not something I condone; But I don't have to condone something to try to understand it.and this movie was portrayed in a way that made me curious and drew it to the forefront of my attention :)

What caught my attention was how Cha Seun Won used his smallest finger to play a big roll in this movie. A raised pinkie seemed to be what the Directors decided to use as a subtle hint at the persistent feminine mindset of the main character when he was in male mode. We all know it's silly. But in this case I thought it was a good call. They chose not to over-feminize (my new word) a person whose main roll in life is a bad-ass hero cop. This most masculine looking man with a beautiful face didn't need to be seen as "trying to hide" a swishy walk or striking dramatic femme-poses instead I think the dignity was kept for the M & F portrayals by remaining subtle with the body. After all, the wig dress and make-up was more than enough for us to get the picture. CSW goes all in for his dramas. He's One of my Favorites! I'm never surprised at any of the projects Cha Seung Won takes on. He's mastered his craft so well. The rest of the cast were wonderful as well.

I don't know anything about the novel or the drama, so this review is based solely on this movie; I won't be able to compare the characters of each installation.
First off, if there's anything at all that you should watch this movie for, then it's the scenery. It's so breathtakingly beautiful, almost like a painting.
The plot is quite interesting, and kinda makes me wanting to get back into gaming. Not that I would actually do that though, since I've got my hands full with all these movies and dramas.
Bei Wei-Wei is a great character, and I love her sharp tongue. Xiao Nai is extremely sweet, but seems too perfect to be true. For some reason that's a flaw in my mind. His friends are pretty funny too, and so are Wei-Wei's, but I never actually learned their names.
Overall, it's a sweet story, but I don't see any plot twists so it seems a little plain.
I loved it though.

From the beginning, I was liking this drama a lot. The soundtrack is really interesting and I was curious about Kirishima. But, I fell like the plot changes a lot around 5 episode and drama lost the way.
9 and 10 episodes was totally disappointing. I'm not feeling like the story was over.

The actors was just ok. Not great.

In the end, I think that could be better. But in the reality, is not.

I just accidentally watched this while looking for another drama aside from Scarlet heart: Ryeo!!.. And by the music alone, it made me think that this was a Youth drama (and at my age, I should not be watching those kinds!, hahah), in Joseon era!!.. Wow, that was awesome!!.. Knowing that this should be dark and heavy, they made it comical and lighter... I really hate serious historical drama, it will make me bored!!... It's enjoyable to watch and I really learned a lot!!.. Dialogues and lines can be used for daily quotes, very inspiring!!..

Kudos to all casts and crew!!.. Knowing they are all young and yet they made this series so perfect!!.. As well as those senior actors, bravo!!... This went up to my all time favorite saeguk, after Sungkyungkwan Scandal...
Both from KBS, a great network for delivering top quality Kdramas, and of course if it's from them the OST's are always top notch!!..
Surely will re-watch it again, and it deserves a high rating which actually 20% (+/-) is not enough, should be more than that!!

Kou Kou Kyoushi without a doubt is probably one of the better dramas I've seen. It's one of my favorites and I wouldn't mind re-watching this. The story was pretty good, the acting was great, the music suited the theme of the show, overall it's a pretty good show, if you don't mind dark themes.
Even though it's one of my favorites I'm not going to act like there is nothing wrong with this show. The first thing I thought was odd with this show was how obsessed Mayu was with the teacher when she only knew the man for less than 24 hours! She was saying things like "I'll protect you", stalking him, etc when she barely knew him! Speaking of Mayu, I personally thought that she was too good for that teacher! Sure they make a cute couple, but there were times I just wanted to slap the teacher for the things he would say or do to Mayu.
Another issue I had with this show was how the students could bully their teacher, throw acid at people, etc and face ZERO consequences but if condoms were found in their school bag they got expelled, and the way the girls act towards their male teachers was cringe worthy! There are more things I wanna say, but I don't wanna post spoilers~
Now what really made this show good, was how there were moments that melted my heart and had me in tears. The actors did a really good job, especially the people who acted as Mayu and the gym teacher. The romance in this show was pretty sweet and much better than most romantic dramas I ever seen, you could actually feel how genuine the feelings between the teacher and the girl is. I also loved how moments in this show had me really thinking about all sorts of things, and always had me wondering "What will happen next?" This is one of those shows worth watching at least once.

As of writing, I'm watching the series for the second time. I just finished watching love in the moonlight and wrote a review about it. Somehow, I couldn't help comparing the two series. What makes them different? What did I love about SS that I measure all new gender benders to it?

So far I came up with these:

- the leading lady is smart. Now, I don't know about other women out there but I think we need more heroines we can admire for their wit and their talents. Not just their beauty.

"I could live in the house of the *minister of war* but in the end I would just be woman who was only worth 100 nyang."

- the series is believable. It handles issues like graft and corruption, factions within our society, the need for education and critical thinking, prostitution...

I still have 16 more episodes to go. will update and edit my review as I go. - 10/30/2016

Completed this. phew. I dropped this drama initially because the lead pair were new to me and their character or actors themselves did not appeal to me. The story itself did not seem tight with dragged out scenes and repeated dialogues. Then I was watching Something about 1% and was sold on the hero, so I came back. It was a pity, the hero did not have much scenes or character development. What worked for this drama is the Norajin setting, everyday life there, the teachers, the students, their family. The highlight of the drama is the Three Idiotic Friends. They were so much fun with their twisted love lines. What did not work for the drama: the main couple romance was unexplored, even their reunion was a pity (atleast the ending between the other 2 professors were satisfactory), The dragged out scenes, the repeated dialogues ( I drink alone bcoz.... ). I hated the background music, I get the hero likes classical music but I don't have to hear them all through the good eating/drinking scenes. I totally lost it when they played Boom ayah, almost the whole song during Key's eating/drinking scene. Ooh, I complained a lot. Despite of all this, it was a pretty decent show. To me the highlight of the show was Kim Kibum.

It started off slow but the characters grew on me. The only character that was not really needed was the guy who was popular for his running skills. Kim So Hyun is simply adorable, and believable in her acting. I'm a 48 year old man and this movie made me teery eyed.

I liked the story although the romance was a bit restrained. The leading lady is only 17 years old afterall.

I watched sungkyunkwan scandal and somehow I always refer to that for comparison. Nevertheless, We don't get a lot of gender bender series so each series should be appreciated for itself.l

It's a story about an 18 year old girl who has been dressing up as a man all her life. She gets sold to the royal palace to become a eunuch and somehow narrowly escapes detection during the selection process. She unknowingly became friends with the crown prince. She thought he was just another noble who grew up with a silver spoon. The crown prince doesn't know she's a woman but can't help getting attracted to her (dressed up as a man).

For several years, the kingdom was secretly being ruled by the prime minister. The king has been having anxiety attacks for almost 10 years which make him edgy and not sleep well. His officials take advantage and rule the kingdom in his behalf.

The crowned prince is left to determine who their enemies are and how to uncover the treachery within the palace.

My review:

The heroine wasn't really trying to be "manly" when disguised as a man. Dressing up is different from trying to blend in the crowd as a man. She could have been easily mistaken for a woman on several instances. She was too feminine so it wasn't really convincing for me. There was nothing tomboyish about her or anything that would indicate she was one of the boys.

For the prince, His acting was good. Although I wish there were more scenes that allowed him to show his acting skills.

I wish there were more flashbacks on the prince and his friends. That was sorely lacking. They were childhood friends and yet there were only a handful of flashbacks about their time together. What was it like when they were still boys up to growing up. They could have developed a better back story about the friendship. What strained their friendship. How the prince and his other friend parted before he went to Qin kingdom.

Then there's also the anxiety issue with the king. I was thinking they were putting something on his food but it was intrinsic in nature. Wouldn't his royal physicians be able to help him with it? What were they doing to alleviate the symptoms?

Then, whatever happened to Hong Ra On's parents? They simply disappeared and never came back. Did they just leave their daughter behind? What happened to hong raon's relationship with her father?

What happened to the white cloud society? Where did all the activists go?

Also, there wasn't any sense of danger around the palace at all really. They talked in their normal voices. Not worrying who would overhear. There wasn't a sense of secrecy going around. Even the villains were plotting their evil plans in broad daylight.

I'm starting to feel the story was not well developed.

There were great actors: The prince, the prince's friend, the child princess, the grandfather physician....

But without the storyline to support and promote their acting skills, it all feels a bit bland.

It's over! Thank god it's over. I struggled with this show. So much so that I contemplated dropping this show, but by the time it got to this point (around episode 17) I had already invested so much of my time that I was determined to finish it.

The show isn't flat out bad, just elements were. For every one thing this show had going for it, two things were dragging it down. For one, 24 episodes was far too long for this show. The last 8 episodes or so were so tedious for me. Two, the show seemed to lack direction. It felt like it didn't know where it was going or what it wanted to be. And when this show was going places none of the places where particularly good. That's not to say none of the episodes were good because there was definitely a few that actually made me want to continue to the next episode, but they were sporadic and few.

The worst part about this show was Jang Geun Suk. I'm sorry, I realize that he is a well liked actor on here and in general, but his performance was wooden and bland. Besides glaring me to death I didn't get much of anything from him. Counting sheep would've been more compelling. Truthfully though the only ones really bringing anything in terms of acting were Kang Ji Hwan (who I found to be incredibly adorable and actually makes me want to pick back up Capital Scandal), Jo Hee Bong (fantastic as the insane king who truly blessed my screen) and Kim Ri Na (I can't help it, good acting can make me like characters that I'm not necessarily supposed to like or root for). Having said that no one (outside of JGS) was particuarally bad, just not memorable or worth mentioning.

The show had some fairly likeable secondary characters in Gomi, Su Jeon (what can I say, I fell for his explosions of love) and Mal Nyeo. I had no complaints when they were on my screen.

Music wise there were only two songs that I even remember hearing and they were both nice (one by a man and the other by a woman). No idea who sings the songs or the titles, but they were nice and helped to set the mood.

Definitely would not watch it again seeing as I struggled the first time around. Can't say I'd recommend, but hey I could be the lone wolf when it comes to not liking this show. Much too campy for my personal taste, but if that's up your alley then this show might be for you.

It is good you can really get into and the actors they were great. Job well done!!
Wish I could say the some for the writers... It started soo great but they ploped it a "little". The plot of this drama is amazing if they make a season 2 I would watch it because I was left with a mehh... Lee Joon did a great job and others too! If you are into the cute Kdramas you wont be that hyped as you are normaly. I'm not saying you wont like it... Know its not romance! Its ACTION!!
You won't be sorry, go watch it. There are as I said mehhs in it but the plot is good and the actors are great. They f* up a little if you ask me XD... But you wont be pissed about it... more "ahhhh"... It is just that they could do a lot better :(

The drama "Madame Antoine" is not bad... its pretty good. :)

Soo... when I started it I had nothing else to watch (like most of you). After the first episode you start to get into the drama. The more you get into the drama the more you like it.
At first I didn't like the actors when I found it because... they are older than most actors I've watched, but they are pros. Acting was great and the plot is original. Great idea, but sometimes it was slow at other times fast. It is watchable and super funny!!! I was like Lol!! WTF??? It is funny, so watch it.
When I finished it I learned something from it... As someone with problems, that you can see in this drama... I can relate a little to it and the story... 99% of you will relate with something in it. The drama is not the best of the best, but is good and you can watch it without feeling like you lost your time. I finished it in 2-4 day... I think but not more... As I said its good, but not like super good. The funny stuff and some of the plot saved it for me. It depend on the person watching it. If you are older you will like it more, it deals with some grown up shit, what I'm saying is its not all funny it can be sad, because the main leads haven't had it easy. They learn to deal with stuff from their past... I found it usefull, if you are not old learn from the mains amd you will get to understande how a grown up thinks. The world is not about you, sometimes you have to let go and move on.
