99 years of love (Japanese-Americans) is a story about a man who migrated long ago to the land of opportunities and peace and love (America) where he finds love and a steady job, everyone's dream.
There you see the bigotry and injustice he faces in a land not his own BEFORE the world war 2 and as soon as the war starts, the Japanese Americans are sent to isolation camps (dark part of American history that no one even talks about for some reason).
A good educational drama with a lot of heart, but still makes you feel very uneasy, how Americans of Japanese descents were treated, before the war it was not good, but after the war started it became pure oppression, this drama is an eye opener on this subject.
Cons: the story is told only from the Japanese people point of view, I would have liked more on the Americans point of view. I wouldn't say this drama is epic or perfect but it's damnnnn good.
This is one of the family human dramas that have to be seen by many people.

JUST FIVE EPISODES GO FOR IT

However, one thing that definitely was atypical, was the fantastic score and soundtrack.
I would actually even recommend you watch this film just for the music.
Which is also why the rewatch value is a little high.
The acting was solid, no complaints there.
But oh boy the music.
Please go and watch it even if it's just for the music.

The movie has scenes confusedly cut on purpose, so that the viewer may better relate to the heroine's gradual loss of reality. And yet, as it was already mentioned, the rational signs and clues to the plot are given to us all the time during the film. While I managed to figure out a part of the story unfolding, I found it very pleasing that the end gave us a full explanation for everything that was happening throughout the movie.
Only a few elements were dull (as an example, the way the ghosts were portrayed). However, that shouldn't dissuade anyone from watching this haunting, but beautiful story.

Chae Yoon and So Yi is like a pillar that hold the King together. They gave so much support and inspiration to the King for him to succeed... And also there's Mu Hyul... :)
Character:
King Sejong- This King is awesome. I really love how he used those cursed word that you will laugh about it not criticizing the King. Those moments when he cries and confused was so touching. You will realized that the King also needs people on his side and consider their feelings. He's my favorite King in Historical Drama Land.
Chae Yoon/Ddolbok- Well, Jang Hyuk is Jang Hyuk..Jang Hyuk made me fall for him even more. I love him coz his character really think what's the best for the situation. He's a genius in planning everything. My favorite is how he plan to circulate the letters(in the last episode). Love his sense of humor and his acting with the King was phenomenal. Their like best of friends... PS. I want more fighting scene with Chae hyun and gaeoropi. Like in Chuno..
SoYi- I love Soyi coz she's not weak character. She's clever as Chae Yoon that's why they are perfect to each other. She's not your typical girl that needs to be save. Great great character.
Moo Hyul- This guy is love by everyone. Coz he's the perfect bodyguard ever. His dedication and loyalty for the King is touching...
Jong Ki Joon- This guy manipulate me.. If you what I mean... He really nailed his character. That good turned to be the evil guy did a good job. Nice acting.
In the end I cry like a baby but its a good thing that they made that ending like that. Maybe you will not satisfy but at least they give you a sight how Chae Yoon and Soyi live together... Overall its one of my favorite drama. Great acting to everyone.
BUT PLEASE WRITER. JUST GIVE JANG HYUK A HAPPY ENDING PLEASE.....

A Japanese movie about volunteer doctors in Kenya sent from Japan teaching hospital, after reaching Kenya he encounters a lot of desperate situations that lead him to stay there and not what to go back to Japan, the movie shows you how real doctors act once they have to choose between helping their patients or making big money back in their country.
The movie is shot in Kenya for few months, it's so genuine and inspirational.
A Japanese classic that makes you think, what the hell am I doing with my life.
Ishihara was so pretty as a nurse and she as always has her perfect English I was in love.
The movie covers how war is done in Kenya with a lot of scary guerilla tactics and using children as human shields and the struggle of doctors that go to help.
The main lead encountered a boy who was a soldier and this changed his fate in life.
Highly recommended

Then...I'm a bit disappointed for the film...I expected very different.
we say that the shooting are not that great, talk of the protagonist who plays Erika, I did not like at all.
Yamazaki Kento I liked to see him in the role of Kyoya-kun,not be like the manga or the anime but...I prefer him instead of her (Nikaido Fumi)
shame really...I was disappointed with the film, I expected very differentI.

I've watched a lot and I mean a lot of dramas. I can often predict what will happen next when watching, but this was just unexpected and different from other dramas.
There is romance, comedy, suspense, and great story. It was a episode clicker lol (page turner...).
Would recommend watching.

Story | Maybe it's just me, but the plot felt new but it also felt like a cliche by the way it was made. Main girl losses her job, runs into her childhood crush etc. It was a cute storyline. I liked the idea of Misaki getting the opportunity to work in a new environment with the brothers of Sea Sons. Their background and everything was a nice touch while the storyline moved well enough and everything made sense.
Cast | I really enjoyed the cast. Of course a favorite of most is Yamazaki Kento, and I'm going to have to jump on that bandwagon. I can honestly say that I believe his acting and his character are what made this drama as good as it was. Him as a chef was perfection and what we all needed in life ~ His chemistry with Kiritani Mirei was perfect. I adored them together. Every scene of them arguing, goofing off and having serious moments, it was all great to watch. Although some of Mirei's actions were a bit annoying, I liked her as Misaki. Chiaki and Touma were also great supporting characters, although I'm not one for Chiaki's personality. But that's all personal. All the other supporting roles were a great add on.
Music | The only song I remember is the main theme by JY (Jiyoung from Kara!) and it's such a nice sone to listen to. I think they also used this song in a slower pace towards the end of the series and I fell in love with the song again.
Rewatch | As much as I enjoyed the drama, rewatching it will probably be unlikely. I was instantly hooked for the first 7 episodes but sadly, the last 3 were lackluster for me. Usually with Japanese dramas, 9-10 episodes is enough for the writers to start a story, create a climax and then finish it nicely, but it seemed with this one that it added too much to the last 3 episodes. I kept asking myself "but why.." constantly while finishing the last couple episodes.
Overall | This has been the first Japanese drama I've seen in a while that was really refreshing. Maybe it was because they were always by the sea, I'm not really sure, but I really enjoyed it. It was a nice short drama to watch over the summer and it is really easy to get through. I'm hoping that there will be some sort of special later on because I truly enjoyed the chemistry this cast had. I recommend people watch this when they want to get away from certain genres that aren't obviously romantic ~

It's the 18th century, Suzy plays an orphan brough up in a gisaeng house, Suzy grows up listing to jae hyo sing pansori an old joseon era kind of songs which can be performed only by men, so she starts cross dressing and takes the audition ( 18th century auditions were lit )
With a lot of romance and one of the most beautiful cinematography this movie was a delight.
It shows how women were discriminated against in olden times.
The beautiful thing is pansori are songs that need to be sang in the nature so you're always witnessing some beautiful scenery.
The art of pansori used to give Suzy a reason to live for in her hard days as a kid, so she wants to sing it so she can help heal other people as well.
The movie focuses more on the beauty of art rather than gender inequality and what not.
Which made me enjoy it a lot more.
Highly recommended for historical movie lovers
This shampoo sealed it with 8/10
PS: suzys best performance for me.
