I feel like this really takes me back to that "boys over flowers" or "flower boy" period we had a couple of years ago, although there's a chance its still going on. Anyway, as the title indicates "Cinderella" is the poor girl who gets with the chaebal and the family is opposed to it or at least the"grandpa" and they try to tear them apart. The chaebal she falls in love with is of course the one that treats her the with some degree of douchery, but he later opens up to her and they make it through whatever comes their way.

This drama is pretty predictable and cliche but I found myself watching it because it was refreshing to me, a bit nostalgic as well to when I first started watching dramas. It also had some actors I've seen around and just gave it a chance. I think it's one of those dramas those dramas to watch after you've just finished watching a gooood drama that might have finished recently.

I watched this some years ago and decide to rewatch recently. There are a lot of moments I was embarrassing for Bo Ri but I loved that she was a strong female lead which I think is important. The actors are great. The characters chemistry was good and I love the two leads as actor and actress. I've seen them both in other shows and I'm always a fan due to their great acting abilities. They also have a great supporting cast that add to the shows side story lines but most of the time I wasn't much interested in the side stories so much. It also is a HEA.
On the down side, which wasn't too bad, was that I didn't like the wishy washness of the decision making that went on but it was easy enough to get through. It does tend to drag here and there but other wise cute and funny. I think it could have used a bit more skin ship but still had it's share of moments. It never made my heart quake or leave me shivering with excitement but it was still good and I'll likely watch it again down the line sometime.

I like the actors but the story is kinda boring. Real world then to cartoon world. Some things are just missing and not clear and it gets very confusing. The storyline is just messy. And I didn't get that butterfly in stomach feeling. I was really disappointed because I read a lot of positive reviews about it.

A word before: Though I may not sound overly enthusiastic, please know I am not feeling negative about this drama! It was a fun watch, but it can't be compared to my favorite drama's.

Story
The story is quite simple: A rich guy falls in love with a regular girl. Nothing special there and the plot twists were in a way pretty predictable. However - I don't think this is a negative point. The twists felt realistic enough and they weren't overly annoying to me. Things didn't feel like they became too dragged out too much.

The ending felt a bit lacking. It's a happy end, but not every lose end has been tied. Some themes have been left open. In a way it feels just fine, because it allows for us to fantasize about it any way we like. On the other hand.. I'm curious. So I'm both happy/content and disappointed by the end. But not too badly disappointed. (And from what I understood, these matters you can find within the original book.)

Acting/Cast
I think the cast did well on their acting. I just feel sometimes the characters they acted were a bit lacking. Shan Shan felt a bit too ditzy to me, though she did improve gradually. And Feng Teng could have been a bit less stoic in some scenes. He does change though and I really liked to see how he was during the last episodes. The chemistry between the characters (Main, secondary and support) all felt just fine/good.

Music
Though not overly special, I did find myself humming along at some point, haha! So I guess it was more catchy than I thought. It fitted the mood well, but there's nothing that left a lasting impression for long to me personally.

Rewatch Value
I think it is a drama I could watch again at some point in time, but not anytime soon. There is nothing new I could discover in it, but there were a lot of sweet moments. I'm just not sure I'm ready to go through the first episodes of ditzy Shan Shan again.

Negatives?
If there is one thing that REALLY bothered me, then it's got to be the make-up/filming. I hope I'm not going to spoil anyone's fun here, but I absolutely hated how pink their lips/hands were most of the time. It was ridiculous. (The eyebrows too, at times.) Just wth was up with that? o_O
It was distracting at best, haha.

Overall
I liked this drama. I really did and I watched it with a smile. Though I did take a break from it at some point (mostly because of an interest shift and not because the drama bored me), I easily found myself continuing it and enjoying it just fine. I'm glad I watched it. Romance was what I was looking for when I put it on and romance was what I got. :)

Highly entertaining and fun based on a movie called MacArthur's children 1984 which was watanabe's debut, this movie was a good remake and I loved it.
The story starts during the world war 2, in a small island in Japan far away from all the war, the only thing they know about war is that some of the young men on the island get chosen to serve in the army, and the little propaganda speeches they hear on the radio, the story moves on quick to when Japan was defeated in 1945.
The movie is about how the lives change after the defeat and how many things change from the point of view of war heroes who became war criminals after the lose, the students (10 year old) who lost their parents during the war, and the scary rumors about the Americans that was spread between the students.
The students and island people start moving on and adapting to good changes and go through life by sharing their love to a team sport newly introduced to them (baseball)
All these changes were perfectly narrated in this 2 hour long beauty.
Emi takei plays the role of the elementary teacher,

PLOT
The story is relatively unique – throughout the movie we follow Linda as she takes a break from her busy acting life and, after unsuccessful wedding anniversary, sets off on a lone journey (accompanied by the taxi driver, Han Lei) to reminisce and reflect on her marriage.
Overall, the plot is mostly rather slow (but not too slow), in line with its reflective character. There are some cliché elements (especially towards the end of the movie), but they do not spoil the show.
The scenes and progression of events are convincing, although there was one a little annoying part of the plot involving Patrick’s secretary (but others might find it interesting).

SETS
A huge asset to the film is the scenery – much of the film shows Guilin’s breathtaking views. Also, there are some nice scenes featuring a traditional wedding in Guilin. Generally, the film offers views and situations, which are unusual (but refreshing!) from a perspective of a romantic movie centred around a famous actress.

ACTORS AND CHARACTERS
The acting was good. Of particular interest was the character of Han Lei – a taxi driver, who is an aspiring writer. Regrettably, this character is shown as more of a background to Linda’s story.

LANGUAGE - For those with language preferences:
Even though it is a Hong Kong production, the movie is actually mostly in Mandarin, because most of the action is set in mainland China and Han Lei is a character from mainland China. As far as I remember, there are only a few scenes in Cantonese, usually between Linda and Patrick.

Overall, a pleasant, melancholic film reflecting on a neglected marriage.

Story: not new story-line. Rich-arrogant man falls for poor girl who wears the heaviest coat of guilt-Cdrama style. Hidden message of solid great friends can stand the test of time and not be a crutch. This drama was STRETCHED out way beyond its limits with 36. A healthy 18-24 drama would have been ample.
Acting: This was rated as such all do to the male lead, son and her BFF- Fei. Female lead was a sad sack of a woman, we can only hope she does not possess any of these characteristics in real world.
Music: nothing memorable and a bit of irritating.
RW value: Only to see a couple scenes of the male lead. He was stunningly handsome and suave.

Final Note: Cdrama has a tendency to follow a formulaic pattern with a bit of cheesy. Several eps fast forward since the silly girl just irritated or felt repetitious. Was looking a drama with folks who are NOT wearing HS uniforms or body swapped with adult situations. This was OK and just needed to finish -

Breathless is an emotionally raw dark and damn good movie,
The movie leaves you like you were a punching bag and mike Tyson was laying in on you, the movie covers a lot of things in Korean poor hoods, staring yang ik Jun who wrote, directed and stared as the lead role, we all know him as the psycho brother from its okay that's love.
The movie is about a debt collector who meets a high school kid and an unusual friendship starts, and their lives begin to change.
At the starting of the movie you'll feel anger and disgusted by our male lead but as the story beautifully unfolds you'll be feeling sympathy, worry and even care for the ruthless thug who has suffered more than anyone can handle.
A masterpiece of a moral tale of the aftermath of domestic violence and child abuse told in a perfect manner in the film that leaves you "breathless"
Shampoo bubbled up a 9/10
CAUTION: it's violent as hell and strong language,Che word fuck shit and cunt were used over a 100 times not even joking

I lowkey regret not having read the manga or watched the anime because this film was SO GOOD. I went into it not knowing much and never having even heard of such a game but boy- it was so, so interesting. The best aspect of the movie is the blend of modern and traditional Japanese culture in a high school setting. The game called Karuta is so amazing. I've never heard of the great hundred poems and one day after I learn Japanese properly, I'll probably sit down and read the poems.

The characters are really deep and well-developed in spite of the entire theme being them Karuta players. I love the main girl and her passion and determination for the game was really inspiring. I also loved the dynamics between her and her friends and watching them practice and bicker was very nice. The way these characters come together and decide to go the Nationals was amazing.

The romantic aspect of the film wasn't much but I enjoyed whatever they showed. When the movie gets intense, they also throw in some anime humour which saves it from being too much to handle. I think this film can serve as an inspiration for anyone regardless of what goal you are aiming for. It also shows how not just talent, but perseverance and taking care of your health while working toward your goal is equally important.

The main actress is really pretty and the main actor was also cute. I don't know any of the other side actors but they also did good jobs of their characters. Like I said, a big traditional side to the film exists and that makes it way more intriguing to watch. Like in the poster, the costume of the main girl was very beautiful to look at. So there's an aesthetic value attached to the film.

I think(?) there's a sequel to this film which is MUCH NEEDED because the ending left scope for a lot to happen. I think this has convinced me to read the manga and watch the anime because I've clearly not got enough of these characters. There's also a lot more story that can be told and I want more- so yeah.

I am super glad I didn't pass it up because that would've been such a waste. Hopefully by the time the subs come out for part 2, I'll have read the manga and I hope there will be more romance. The leads are so cute that I-can't-even...... Go watch it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I've never read the manga though I know it's quite popular. When the guy says to a girl, "You're my dog and I'm your master" there's honestly nothing more than that. Call it cultural difference but I'd probably kick someone if they called me their dog. Anyway, since this movie enabled me to get past that cringe dialogue means it was a great one.

The premise is cute (minus the dog statement). The cast is cute and definitely passes off as teenagers to me. I am only familiar with the main actor but I liked them all. It's got usual shoujo manga tropes and there's not a lot of depth to the story. Sometimes it is hard to condense the story in a two-hour film so live actions will always let down in some or the other ways. However, it was very funny and had a good amount of LOL moments.

Only those who are into shoujo manga/anime/films will love this film since it comes across as silly at times. I also had good second lead syndrome in the last hour of the movie and the main lead was a plain hurting jerk a lot of times. I was okay with it because he wasn't exactly 'abusive'. He was nice to the girl and cold the moment.

Watch this film if you're a fan of the manga or just looking for something cute to pass your time. It was worth my time.

This drama is hands down among my Top 3 J-dramas of recent years. It was a thoroughly entertaining watch and I'm still reeling from its withdrawal. While this drama isn't unique, it was refreshing and the cast is one big reason to watch this. All the characters are properly fleshed out and the cast did an amazing job.

This drama seemed like a reverse harem to me but it was limited to being a love triangle only (thankfully). I think my favourite person in the entire drama was the main actress. Not only is she crazy pretty but also acted so well. She managed great chemistry with all three brothers and her interactions with all were enjoyable in their own way. I am sure when you watch this, you'll probably like a different brother. For me all three were equally likable although the second was a bit more frustrating than the others. There's also who you wanna ship because that makes it another level of fun throughout the 10 episodes.

I loved how this drama was shot in different locations than usual J-dramas and I got to see a part of Japan I am not familiar with. I love the Japanese for their culture, and this drama sort of shows how there is more to their country than just skyscrapers and metropolitan areas.

This drama is a perfect mix of family, romance, food and friendship genres and neither of the elements outweigh the others. I wasn't too familiar with the cast but I know now that Kenta is somewhat big in Japan. Also a random note- if you are a fan of the Kpop group Kara then you're in for bit of a surprise in here (don't get your hopes up tho).

I loved this drama and had to contain myself to not watch it raw when subs didn't come out on time. It is light and there's almost no melodrama which was a good break from Kdramas for me. It becomes a bit dull in the last few episodes but the cheesy airport ending makes up for it. In fact, I am hoping for a season 2.

Watch it and I'm sure you will not regret it. 10 episodes will fly by before you even know it. It's good got rewatchability score too.

Overall a sweet drama, and definitely enriching watch. The story is about a man who is looking to become useful for someone, when he meets Hana, who's daughter Umi is blind and deaf, leading her to becoming mute as well. Yes like Helen Keller. He starts working at night and looking after her during the day, in shift switch with Hana. As he spends more time with Umi he insists on teaching her new things about the world despite the hardship. He gets help from his flatmates and landlord. As he gets closer to mother and daughter, the estranged father shows up to cause Ittaku additional hardship.

The Story can sound pretty inspiring, and it sure is many ways. My only issue here, which cause a big plot-hole in the story, is that Japan is a first world country. Surely when a case such as Umi occured you'd have a professional help you out, at least inform you of the different ways to communicate with Umi. Many of the things Ittaku attempts to teach Umi should've been attempted first by Hana. It didn't seem like Hana ever thought of Umi as an actual human being. The senses which usually help kids absorb knowledge have been cut out from her, but it's not like she has brain Damage. In that sense she's just a normal girl with a thirst to understand this dark world she lives him.

Other than that though, everything else is perfect. The way the story progresses, the growth in both Hana and Ittaku, and especially the exploration of Hana's ex. In Hindsight he sure is a jerk, and a loser. However it's as if he's running away from this truth and will only be at peace if he accepts it. Two of the other tenants started off pretty annoying. It's funny how each would call on the other's annoying part, but it didn't help there case, that is until they change. Their character is like the reverse characters of a typical high school romcom story.

What made the story great is the obachans. Ittaku's who pushed him to have a meaning in his life, Umi's with her tendered heart, but mostly the landlord. She was too convenient, yes, but she's too lovely for me to be bothered about that point. She calls out on any bullshit, with a devious yet sweet smile, that you can't help but accept her comment and smile back. The Ojisan tenant was a nice highlight. Oh and Ittaku's best friend Baba is great!

Most and foremost amazing character is Umi, and the way she was portrayed was just perfect. She made me appreciate the small yet amazing things in life, like the breezy wind, the touch of sand, dipping the feet in the sea. The way she eats, though messy, is too adorable. It expresses her joy of eating something delicious. When she manages to learn something the pride in herself is priceless.

Acting is good overall. Other than Sumida Moeno who's the most impressive, I enjoyed the acting of Aso Kumiko who has yet to disappoint me. First time seeing Mineta Kazunobu but he was pretty convincing here. Yamauchi Takaya is the type that no matter what he does you can't really hate him. The rest of the cast suit their characters to say the least.

Anyways sweet short watch about simple people in a complicated situation trying their best to do well in life. Worth your time to check out.

I watched this drama when it was aired back in 2014. One of the best dramas. It has everything: Good cast (The actress and actor Lee Bo-Young and Cho Seung-Woo did such an amazing job), the scenography and the cinematography is just splendid and with such detail. Overall one of my favorites.

The story was on point even though I did not like the twist at the end. It was well scripted and will repeat it again.

Highly recommended to watch while you find a good drama to get hooked into.

The plot is very interesting, altough there's some thing unanswered questions (highly predictable) its really, really good being a light-drama. :)
