Poor script that good actors can't save.

I hate bad writing. There are so many common sense errors on the part of the characters that it had me shouting at my TV set. Example: S1 E16. When Park Yunang and his girl are approached by Hyewon and her henchman. it makes no sense once Park gets the rifle away from the henchman and shoots the Derringer out of Hyewon's hand. Park turns his back on the henchman lying on the ground to shoot at Hyewon's weapon, but the unharmed henchman never takes the advantage to attack Park from behind, until after he disarms Hyewon by firing the one and only bullet in the bolt action gun. Then Parks points the unloaded gun at the henchman, who stops in his tracks even though he must know the gun is useless. Then leaving both guns and their enemies behind, they turn their backs on their enemies and simply walk away. The hangun might be useless, but the rifle only needed another bullet loaded, so why wouldn't the henchman grab the gun, reload and go after them? Then people get shot throughout the show, but no one dies, and they heal in a matter of days. The memes I understand, but the tactical stupidity-- I can't suspend my belief that far. Then there's that guards that hear something and turn to look, clearly see a bush moving as if something passed by, but don't bother to check. And the dumbest thing, was having the traitors signing a pact with their fingerprint to overthrow their king. Why? It's totally unnecessary unless you want it to be your death warrant. And why is the King so helpless? He knows half his court is corrupt, but his ministers push him around like a rag doll and he seems to be unable to stop them. What a waste of a strong cast. I will finish watching this simply because of the casting.

Male Torture drama~ Yee~ Haw~

I watched Yuan Yuhan and Liu Xiaoxu drama since LXX recent drama with the FL was not to my liking and realized it was on my shelves for long time. I only dared to watch it because I heard it was supposed to be a male lead-torture drama. I genuinely can't watch dramas that torment FL now. I originally thought it would be a typical chasing wife drama, but it turned out to be a memoir of a deceased wife, since the FL dies in episode seven. The rest is all about ML gradually discovering the truth. To be honest, I don't pity the ML at all . Some people think he was also deceived, but five years he couldn't see the FL's sincerity for five years. Based on that alone, he doesn't deserve her love. Even if he didn't like FL, after the SFL caused her miscarriage and lifelong infertility, he still said such hurtful things to her, which shows he wasn't a good person to begin with. So I think his ending is quite good; he deserved it. For FL's perspective, I genuinely hope her rebirth later on is real. She's suffered so much; I truly feel sorry for her and hope she can get the love she craves. Or, if she didn't die, SML could heal her later—he's really good person.

I don't have mood for watching tragic dramas, but I watched it entirely for Liu Xiaoxu and Yuan Yuhan's acting. Yuan Yuhan doesn't have many scenes; most of the later ones are Liu Xiaoxu's solo performance, a true acting showcase! Liu Xiaoxu is amazing. Of course, Yuan Yuhan's crying scenes are also superb, personally i quite like this pairing since they have wide range of acting.

If you are on mood for torturing yourself with tragic drama, this drama is your answer.

Romance flavor Business Drama

HeHan and ZhanQiao succeed in their business partnership&romance, He's a web novelist, She's his editor, and together they achieved great recognition, his novels are always in first place. HeHan lives a carefree life, but after years together ZhanQiao wants to lives with him, but HeHan is just not ready. Distressed ZhanQiao makes harsh decisions, that affects not only their life together, but also her company and her other writers/authors/partners. We see the consequences of her decision not only now, but also their past decisions consequences.

ZhanQiao lives with her friend ZhouMei, Zhoumei lives a double life or should I say, triple life?.Cai ZhangZhu is HeHan number one fan. Bei Wen Qi is a reliable lawyer and something else. Newbie Lawyer YouSen is driven for bad and good. LanXin is pure ambitious & jealously, YiKai can flex both. Gu Yan shakes their world, Daishan profits, Mr. Fan dominates. Who is legend author Phantom Knight?

First I must say, it's a heavily business drama, majority of the plot are business rivalry, contract negotiations, scout of new writers, headhunting, negotiations of movies and games adaptations, new chapters schedule etc; very dynamic and upbeat for most part. The romance is slow and sprinkled in homeopathic doses, but highly engaging*. The drama is kinda melancholic, but the mood gets heavier in the second half, with lots of tears going on.

In the technical aspect, the acting was right on point for most of the actors, Tiffany screaming is a tad annoying, Mark was priceless with his laid back super star writer. Cai Yu such a fancy actress. He Lan Dou reminds me Rosy Zhou early career. Seniors did just okay, ShaoFeng, HongJie, LiuJun. OST was alike angst costume dramas, good enough. Photography, what can I say? Shanghai is one those cities that are pure glamour with old vibes buildings and neat streets, even in more poor neighborhood's.

Dont mislead people with using word toxic

Before talking about the drama itself, I want to address something that bothered me. A lot of people keep calling this drama and TharnType "toxic." When I read those reviews before watching them, I almost decided not to watch TharnType because I thought it would be a toxic relationship from beginning to end. Luckily, I gave it a chance, and it ended up being one of the best BL dramas I've ever watched.

Yes, there are toxic behaviors and conflicts in the first few episodes. However, many reviewers make it sound like the characters spend the entire series hating each other or treating each other badly, which is simply not true. They focus so much on the beginning that they ignore the character growth and relationship development that happen later. Calling a drama "toxic" without explaining how the characters change gives potential viewers the wrong idea and may stop them from watching something they could actually enjoy.

As for this drama itself, I don't think it deserves to be reduced to a single label. The actors have amazing chemistry, and their performances make the relationship feel genuine and enjoyable to watch. Once the couple gets together, they become incredibly sweet and lovable. Their interactions were honestly one of the best parts of the series.

That said, my biggest issue with the drama is the story. The actors are talented, the chemistry is great, and the romance is engaging, but the plot feels weak and underdeveloped. At times, it seems like the cast is carrying the entire show because the storyline doesn't give them enough material to work with. I also found the ending disappointing. After investing so much time in the characters, the conclusion felt unsatisfying and didn't provide the payoff I was hoping for.

Overall, I loved the chemistry, the acting, and the relationship development. I just wish the writers had given these talented actors a stronger story and a better ending. And most importantly, I think people should be more careful when using the word "toxic," because it can create a completely misleading impression of what the drama is actually like.

The important thing about cooking is to talk about it. French technique : spouting a bunch of pretentious nonsense to make it seem like you're about to eat the best dish in the world. And making people believe that its lousy cuisine (invented for the rich in the 19th century) is centuries-old and down-to-earth. Sorry, I guess I hate France.

A series that seems strange at first glance but is above all funny thanks to its main character, the adorable Park Ji-hoon (this guy has something magnetic about him). He seems completely lost and sorry to impose his presence, all while creating the greatest culinary masterpiece in the universe. And when people taste his lovingly prepared dishes, things just go completely off the rails. They run along the beach at dusk, belching with joy and dancing like little Terpsichores. With each new dish comes a new surreal bit of nonsense to illustrate their momentary ecstasy. Writing this must have been a blast. Special mention when they turn into an overly saccharine K-pop boy band. (Lee Kwang-soo would have absolutely killed it in this series !) "I'm so crispy, baby."

Obviously, it couldn't just be a story about a great chef, they had to throw in a whole bunch of outlandish complications. Gaining self-confidence through cooking and the kindness of your coworkers is all well and good, but it's far from reality when you know what working conditions are like in the restaurant industry. No one lasts very long.

Don't watch if you're single

Such a good series, it'll make you feel single. Another series which I have had on my plan to watch since forever. I was really curious what to think about this series. I heard it was extremely good but I found this series because of the ost. This story is so romantic, I genuinely can't describe it. It has a sort of nostalgic feeling to it aswell. I really recommend watching this series. No hate or trying to be rude but I'm not big fan of Jittirain. Some of her work was amazing, however, I didn't like a lot of them.

A lot of events were super unpredictable and original. The globe idea is amazing, and didn't expect the globe to be this well done, the transitions between the 'now' and 'then' were sooo amazing. I fucking love this plot, it's soooo original. A marriage plot + time travelling is such an amazing combo. I felt sooo bad for Kawi but later on felt worse for Pisaeng. I really wonder if Pisaeng originally (before the globe) had feelings aswell. Maybe he was actually gay and liked Kawi his whole life or... he is pan/bi/omni and actually liked Praemai. Still thinking about this.

I actually at first thought he might never go back into the future and I was scared he wouldn't be able to ever go again. I'm so glad they didn't make that a big plot (the ending a bit but still different than being stuck...) also I was waiting for the changes, hoping he would go back to the future to see what the actions did and I kept thinking about this. It was sooo fun to see the changes each time.

It's weird seeing Krist and Gawin together, but I do really like them together! I have nothing against ghost shipping and tbh I thought they were rlly cute together. It's weird to see Krist being a 'bottom' and Gawin 'top' though, but I liked it. They actually have great chemistry. I believe this was made back when Singto hadn't come back as pair with Krist and when Gawin didn't have Joss as his pair yet, like gmmtv was experiencing a bit, I might be wrong though.

Respectfully, I can't see Krist as a 'high school student'. Maybe because I'm used to him in Sotus (because I've rewatched that like 8 times more.) After a few episodes I got more used to it and forgot about his age and everything. Kind of the same with Gawin, it's weird seeing him as a high school student, because he looks older than the average student. I have to say though, this is the best series I've seen Gawin act in. The acting work is fucking fantastic. For Krist I can't say much because I haven't seen many of his series.

The emotional ride in this series is fantastic. Brother it felt like I fucking LIVED inside the story. The romance, the humour, just everything hit well. It was soooo good, I can't believe it. Well done directing work and amazing actors. Like I mentioned before, I rlly think this is one of the best acting work I've seen from Gawin. Each one of the characters actually felt like they were inside the series. All characters had at least some personality and I could really form a bond with most characters.

I do have to mention, although Praemai didn't deserve everything I didn't like her. It's not because she 'interviened' with little 'gay' ship but because of her behaviour. she seems nice and she must be BUT she was annoying. Crying about everything and making a lot of things issues. I get her feelings of unrequited love and I definitely think Kawi wasn't exactly nice to her either, since he kinda ghosted her. Really loved seeing Aou, also he is cool as ever, love his hair colour with the pink!! It rlly suits him. Also his character was amazing, so sweet and I love how he came up for lgbtq+ rights. He is definitely my comfort character from this series.

Ending was cute but a bit confused who Praemai chose finally. Suer adorable, definitely a new fav. I really suggest this series especially if you like good acted bl with a fun story line and plot.

A beautiful picture on time travel

I've really enjoyed this.

It started not so heavy; it was balanced, aesthetically pleasing, and more active.
JJ's effortless acting made me want to binge-watch more episodes. I believe this time-travel Thai BL has satisfied me enough; throughout the finale, it has resolved and closed every loop and unveiled many mysteries. I don't see any plot holes, nor find the plot boring even in the slightest.

It took Nakun two full episodes to settle into the Ayutthaya Kingdom, and that was the most realistic. While some may find it over the top, I daresay it accurately depicts a 21-year-old travelling back in time from 2023(?) to 400 years ago.

Phop was the loveliest character whom I sheerly enjoyed from the very start to the end. Net has done a fantastic job capturing Phop's kindness, warmth, and nurturing nature, embodying such gentleness in the accent and action.

This lovely series has been made lively and enjoyable by the supporting characters Chuai, Sai, and Khong. I haven't seen a film with such a compelling storyline and outstanding actors in a very long time.
I was taken aback by Kim and Latte. They surprised me with their divine acting. It was my first time watching them on screen, and the way they depicted their strong, quivering roles enthralled me.
Kim's so pretty; I had thought I'd miss his beauty by the periodical manly attire; however, his role did stand out and speak.

(Is it just me who finds both Chan and Hyunjin in Latte? ><)

Even though I enjoy the show, I think JJ could do a better job acting in some of the more poignant (sad) and romantic scenes. Although I find some of his frames unsettling, he did a good job in his roles. I am looking forward to his upcoming projects. He made this series so much fun.

The marriage felt a little lacklustre, but it ended well, and I'm thrilled that my Phop has his beloved at last, hehe.

I love black flag tops especially when they are sad and pathetic (shout out Vegas)

Genuinely such an interesting, entertaining, yet grouded show. I was completely hooked from the beginning. I think the story was first carried by the mystery behind the main couple and what happened in their past, and I honestly think that the actors really sold their "first love" dynamic in the flash backs. I thought hair and make up did the best they could aging up the main couple throughout the show. Overall, I watched this after loving Revenged Love, and I'm just so happy with the direction that Chinese BLs are taking. I think this BL did have a lot of shock factor, and also it did have a lot of SA, but as someone that likes dark romance and toxic black flag characters, I enjoyed it while I was talking to myself watching it. I was devolping my avoidant attachment for the Yi Chen bruh he Lu feng was so attached he COULD NOT LEAVE HIM.


I do wish that Lu Feng, had more accountability, like, nobody was punching him, which pissed me off because it was like, I like toxicity, I like black flag top characters, but also, I'm watching a show and I need to see what I need to see. I needed him to get punched, at least by the second male lead top character. He did not do enough for what happened throughout the show, especially loving the brother and being another "alpha" of the couples. I also did want more from the second lead couple but looking back it makes sense why with the plot. I really liked their dialogue and angst in the beginning. I loved the conversations that the main couple had as well, it did get repetive sometimes but I think their love/hate/angst carried the show. I loved how they were used to tackle family pressure, first love, coming out, mental health, along with heartbreak. I enjoyed the brother relationship so much, the little brother is so accurate to us youngest siblings and I thought Yi Chen embodied responsibility rarely for himself but his brother and family.


I think what I really liked and what grounded the show was the lack of support they had for their queer identities through their parents. In a lot of BLs, you get at least like one parent that's like accepting of their identities, but I think it just showed more realism and the culture surrounding being gay in a non-Western environment than I think a lot of BL in other Asian countries tackle them. And I really liked how I grew into Yi chen's actor. I wasn't really sold on him fitting the role but as the episodes went on I think he showed me with his protrayal of a first son, eldest brother, all tying with why he has a more muted yet such a sincere presence with how he talks in his and Lu Feng's relationship. While i did wish for him to have more of a backbone, I do think in some moments he did and the others he just wanted to comfort/stay with his first love, which is sad but very real.


12 episodes were so short, I think for the time jumps they had and china being notorious for long seasons, but i know it was out of their hands. Overall it might not be for everyone, but I think people need to understand that fiction is fiction, black flag tops have a space in BL and they aren't going anywhere. Be aware and get over it. The only hate that this show needs without conversation was the random ai transition sequences. Shit was so bad I noticed BRUH. Not on the bl producers come on..


Still loved solid Chinese bl, I was entertained.

MRN: Fun Banter, Forgettable Romance

By late June 2026, I can comfortably say that this drama is a decent rom-com. Compared to most rom-coms released this year so far, it fares better than many of its peers. Is it the best rom-com out there? Absolutely not. But it's not bad by any means either.

What worked best for me in this drama wasn't the romance—it was the comedy. The banter between the characters was easily the highlight of the show. Whether it was Segye-Seori, Segye and Mr. So, Seori and Gwang Nam, Seori and Jihyo, or even Segye and his grandfather, the interactions felt lively and entertaining. Those relationships carried much of the show's charm and often left a stronger impression on me than the romantic storyline itself.

Story-wise, the drama is full of clichés and doesn't really bring anything new to the table. I had my fair share of issues with the writing, especially towards the final stretch of episodes, and there were several moments where the story felt predictable and convenient. That said, compared to many recent rom-coms that struggle to make even familiar material entertaining, this drama does a decent job. The story itself isn't particularly strong, but the performances, comedy, and character interactions help elevate material that could have easily fallen flat.

As for the central couple, I enjoyed Seori and Segye's interactions and found their banter genuinely fun to watch. However, I never became fully invested in them as a romantic pair. Their relationship felt more like a mutually beneficial partnership than a passionate romance. I believed in them as companions, but not entirely as lovers.

Lim Ji-yeon was genuinely hilarious as Dam Shin in Seori's body. Dam Shin's interpretation of the situations around her and her reactions to everything happening were some of the funniest parts of the drama. She was particularly strong in the comedic scenes and the few darker, more authoritative moments she had throughout the series (something that is her forte as an actress). However, once the character entered romantic territory, it often felt like she was acting rather than naturally living through the emotions of the character, and because of that, I gradually lost some connection with Seori. Also, "cute" doesn't suit LJY at all; whenever the drama asked her to act cute, it came across as more cringe than charming.

Heo Nam-jun also did a pretty good job as Cha Segye. His comic timing and delivery were solid throughout the series and matched the tone of the drama well. Much like Lim Ji-yeon, he was at his best during the drama's lighter and more comedic moments. While I wasn't completely sold on some of the more vulnerable emotional scenes, he still managed to make Segye a consistently likable presence throughout the show. And just like Lim Ji-yeon, he isn't someone who naturally pulls off cute acting either.

The main villain deserves a mention as well. Jang Seung-jo was excellent, as expected. He's one of those actors who rarely disappoints and brought a strong presence whenever he appeared on screen.

Overall, this was a enjoyable watch. In a time when we're constantly getting flashy, overhyped, big-budget dramas that often end up feeling hollow, this one felt surprisingly refreshing. It may not be a drama that stays with me for years or one that I'll think about long after finishing it, but for the time I spent watching it, it was entertaining.

You can take the girl out of Josean but not Josean out of the girl

A show has done its job when it leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy on the inside, and you spend the days after its completion, replaying scenes and listening to the OSTs on repeat, just so you don't lose that feeling. You try to watch a scene from an episode and end up watching the whole episode because it is just too good.
The ending left me wanting more but I was also satisfied with what I had been given. I will miss Cha Se Gye and Shin Seo Ri. I loved how they kept saying each other's full names till the end. The OST as they walked on the beach while they continued to bask in their love, was perfection💋.

The show has everything- lots of romance and a couple that goes on actual dates in almost every episode after they accept their feelings for each other. They also do ordinary couple things like lying in bed while watching TV, and walking hand-in-hand on the beach. Se Gye fell really hard and early, and only after just a handful of antagonistic encounters with his 'nemesis'- but theirs was a love that was 300 years in the making, so falling was inevitable. And after rejecting him a few times, she fell too. They healed each other and became each other's world. So much so that Se Gye wanted to stop being so villainous and be good, but his lady love was not having any of that😂🤗. She believes in 'an eye for an eye' and in exacting karmic justice, herself, Josean style, and not 21st century-style😂.

The show also has lots of comedy, action, jealousy, angst, grief, a main villain, frenemies, time travel, fantasy, two crazy aunts, loving grandparents, a loyal executive assistant, a cute dog, and a prince who reclaimed his present day throne, with his beloved by his side.

Truly an enjoyable watch. It seems like once a year, there is at least one show that is so wholesome and heartwarming that it makes me feel giddy. In 2022, it was Crazy Love; in 2023, it was Crash Course in Romance and Perfect Marriage Revenge; in 2024, it was My Sweet Mobster; and in 2025, it was Bon Appetit, Your Majesty. This year, it's My Royal Nemesis and it has certainly raised the bar.
Well done to the writer, director, and the cast who brought the writer's vision to life.

I think the top reviewers are smoking pot

Ok first of all,
It started out good ok? Like really good. But I don't know what happened it suddenly went from 100 to 10 real quick.
I enjoyed Mizuki/Yoh's character and dynamics initially but it starting going down for me when Yoh asked permission from Mizuki to go to a fucking friend's house?? (Yoh, stand up girl)

It doesn't end there. Mizuki was showing serious case of a possessive ass boyfriend but Yoh kept brushing it off. (Yoh, have a backbone girl)

Also some reviewers mentioned about BDSM.. do y'all even know how a BDSM relationship actually works? you require emotional awareness and consent from both parties for this. But Yoh was the only one who thought of it as sexual relationship. Mizuki thought they were dating. They genuinely needed to communicate properly instead of just driving everything to sex (even teenagers have more maturity than these two)

Lastly, both needed some serious character development, but it was shrugged off under the table. Yoh should've stood up for himself to Mizuki (set boundaries) and Mizuki should know that he has a breathing human boyfriend who has his own feelings and not a dog who lolls his tongue and obeys his every command

I still can't believe, Mizuki said "Don't go out anymore" and Yoh replied with "I won't"💀
Why don't you just stuff him with cotton and make a doll out of him while we're at it?? that way you won't have to worry about where your boyfriend is going anymore.

Major second hand embarrassment

When I started this drama i wasn’t particularly looking for a high budget, well executed drama so the initial episodes felt good and the story was actually entertaining but then weird things started to happen.
The FL had a wall full of MLs photos which was creepy to say the least. But the thing that irked me most was how she dressed up in a RED over the top dress to propose to him in the OFFICE. That gave me such bad second hand embarrassment. Why would anyone dress up like that?? Do you want to announce your intentions to the entire company? Watching that scene was already so difficult for me but then she came back 3 times after leaving and getting rejecting, and then the worst of it all: the forced kiss. She thought rejection giver her a free pass for harassment. The entire proposal scene was pathetic.

Then comes the poor dubbing, the super rich ML wearing the same outdated 2-3 suits and the toxic behaviour of FL after getting rejected.

You can watch the first five episodes for entertainment but i would suggest leaving it while its still safe lol.

This drama gave me something I hadn’t felt from a K-drama in a long time.

Wow… what a journey this was.

It’s been a very long time since I enjoyed a Korean drama this much. Watching My Royal Nemesis felt like stepping back into the era of K-dramas that made me fall in love with the genre in the first place. There was something incredibly nostalgic about it — from the storyline and the acting to the romance and the characters.

I loved the chemistry between the leads, the comedy was wonderful, and the pacing was exactly what I wanted it to be. The story kept moving forward in a way that kept me invested from beginning to end.

And Cha Se Gye… oh my god.

He has officially earned a place on my list of favorite “loser in love” K-drama men. He’s joining the ranks right next to Seon Jae. 😭

The way he loved her… the way he was so completely and hopelessly devoted to her… my heart was racing in every scene. Especially in the final episode. I cried right along with him. He moved me so much.

Honestly, I think we all deserve to be loved the way Cha Se Gye loved her.

I do think the beginning of the drama was stronger than the ending, and there were moments near the end where it felt like the story drifted away from what it originally was. Even so, I still think this drama was wonderful. I enjoyed every single episode and never found myself losing interest.

I would genuinely recommend this drama to everyone.

But I especially recommend it to longtime K-drama fans who, like me, have felt a little disappointed by recent releases and started losing hope after one too many letdowns.

My Royal Nemesis reminded me why I love K-dramas. It completely changed my mood and restored some of the excitement I felt I had lost.

And for that alone, it was worth the journey. 9.5/10❤️

A Comedy of Misunderstandings, Self-Torture, and Second Chances

My Royal Nemesis is one of those dramas that is both genuinely funny and unapologetically melodramatic at the same time. The story unfolds across two timelines: one set in the Joseon era and the other in modern day, with the two narratives gradually intertwining. Without giving away spoilers, it is essentially a tale of two wounded souls whose past experiences have left them cynical, guarded, and deeply suspicious of the idea that anyone could love them unconditionally.

Much of the comedy comes from the spectacular misunderstandings between the leads. Se Gye is convinced that Seo Ri is secretly in love with him, while Seo Ri is equally convinced that Se Gye is some kind of unhinged fan. Instead of communicating like sensible adults, both spend an impressive amount of time imagining the worst, over analysing every interaction, and emotionally tormenting themselves. The communication gap between them is so large that it could probably squeeze in a mountain.

Despite the frustration this creates, it is also what makes the drama entertaining. The dry humour lands particularly well because neither character is naturally warm or trusting. They are people who have been hurt before, and watching them slowly navigate their feelings is both amusing and surprisingly touching.

The lead actress deserves special mention. When properly styled, she looks absolutely stunning—elegant, refined, and every inch the heroine. Yet she can just as easily transform into someone goofy, awkward, and downright silly. That versatility allows her to handle both the romantic and comedic aspects of the role with ease.

As for the lead actor... well, let us just say that somebody clearly spent a considerable amount of time in the gym preparing for this drama. His physique certainly does not go unnoticed. Fortunately, he also has enough comedic timing to make Se Gye's delusions and self-inflicted suffering entertaining rather than annoying.

Adding tension to both timelines is a villain who seems impossible to deal with. Whether in Joseon or in modern times, he is always lurking in the background, plotting his next move. He is the sort of character who is so cunning and such a talented actor that everyone around him struggles to see through his mask.
