A Profoundly Moving Story

An intensely human story that feels real and quite genuine. It is dark and a bit brooding but so character driven that you do not mind its plaintiveness. It is a tale of young love that is deep in its core but goes unrecognized and almost missed. It says more with less words and shows love in subtle acts of kindness. A beautiful and touching series with a significant twist to its ending that left me shattered and less hopeful. It has some fine acting even by actors that are new. They never overplay their roles.

Decent entertainment.

It's competent in most aspects.
The hype honestly makes it a worse experience, because you expect something mindblowing and genre breaking.
It's not that.
It's Battle Royale Fall Guys.
It's mostly enjoyable. The social commentary is a bit heavy handed at times, but it's nice to have it there.
It's not that original, it's not perfect.
It's fine.

(random note: The scenes with English speaking foreigners were hilarious. The writing was mostly ok, but it didn't come off as entirely natural. And combined with not-stellar acting it felt odd. I guess like Asian scenes feel in western movies maybe.)

One of the best plot kdrama stories !!

Still can't get over it. I have watched it repwatedly many times. Indeed one of the best series I have ever watched. The actors, the stories and most specially the sound tracks. I have all them in my personal music box. I hope they get to be available in Netflix... Likewise, I hope there is second season.. Highly recommended! Park Jihoon and Bae In Hyuk ate definitely the stars of these show. Their acting prowess and friendship is what the world needs.. Genuine friendship even though they come from different walks of life...

boring but good story

●FIRST IMPRESSION
I felt a bit bored so I kind of dropped this at episode 3. after months I picked it up again and it still felt boring, with a budding romance angle because I wanted to see the psychometric power of ML, solving murder cases. So I skipped few scenes and in ep 6 it becomes interesting. when ML tries to uncover his power rather than to avoid it.

●PLOT VIEW
It was written nicely but had few flaws as there were too many flashbacks popping up. I also find this irritating that how each character zoned out once and blamed themselves for the mishap, if it was 1-2 characters then OK but so many saying “this is my fault” was annoying. It then takes a fast pace from the 6th ep and with that one murder case unfolding that how each character's past connection and pains. there were so many layers to one case unfolding so many previous cases showing the corrupted society who are selfish. the ending was good but the last tail of the case was it was like why did writers even come up with that YY angle if it didn't get the law punished.

●ACTING
It was pretty good and I likes Seung Mo and Lee An bromance. They were so natural like real brothers. Lee An goofiness suited Jin Young's face. Yoon Jae In and Eun Ji soo are the type of FL I like to see, strong smart, quick-witted, and fighter.

●MUSIC
"With You"OST is beautiful, obviously because of its English lyrics and subtle music. Others were beautiful too. I kind of liked the spooky BGM giving a ghostly vibe.

●QUOTES
>A person's memory is like a jumbled-up medicine cabinet, whether I pick up poison or an antidote, I can't tell until I swallow it.- Lee An
>He who fights against a monster must be careful not to become one himself. If I look into a monsters soul for too long, its soul will enter me too and see from within - Seung Mo
>We use every possible means to get over our painful experiences. But the scar remains and becomes an unerasable memory. It requires a lot of time to fade away- Lee An

Sweet mess, allot of good but some parts where just bad

This was, different mostly in a good way, I actually liked the mess, the not so very predictable plot and the actors. However this was not the actors best acting, I do not know if they where badly prepared, rushed or if it was bad directing but some parts just felt forced.

I love the second couple, I love the friendships, I love the smiles, the way these women most of the time go for what they want... I hated how spinless the main lead was and while I loved how they portrayed fear and insecurity in entering a relationship this became a problem when spineless met fearful . I often wanted to yell talk to EACH OTHER for f sake and I hated how the Second female lead is portrayed, from start to finish I hate here character as well as the not so endearing qualities she brought out in the lead couple. But to be honest the funniest part is how obvious the product placement is I laughed o many times at the product placement I almost got a tummy ache.

All in, it does have allot of good stuff but is dragged down by the acting and that one plot twist that just killed the characters I guess... (not literally but their likability)

Nothing impressive but it's okay

I am quite picky when it comes to dramas, especially historical dramas. I feel that this storyline is cute but has been ridiculously overused. Furthermore, I used to like zhao lusi after watching her earlier dramas, but recently, she has been acting in roles that are extremely similar. I mean, sure, it fits her image. But I see no improvements in her acting and neither do I see a desire in her to try other types of roles. I think this is a disgrace as an actress especially when there is potential in her but she's just wasting it. From the number of dramas that she's been in, I can infer that her company is willing to provide her with more than enough resources and opportunities, but she's just not improving at all!!!
And for the male lead.......I can firmly say that he doesn't look good in historical outfits. He looks dashing in modern day clothings, but he looks like a bloated pufferfish in this outfit. I have seen his face plastered all over posts that are titled "ugliest men in historical dramas 2021" on my social media, and I am not surprised to say the v least. Okay. But historical outfits are just not meant for everyone.
If you are looking for cute and light-hearted historical drama. This drama is for you. But if you are picky and likes good plots, good lines and good outfits, then don't watch this.

ITS A GOOD WATCH. PLEASE GIVE IT A GO

I am doing this review bcuz of all the negative reviews out there. First thing it's not as bad as everyone says, its actually really good. The romance is amazing with lots of caring. The acting by the ML is superb. Another thing it shows true love in such an amazing way. Its hard to explain but the ML really loves the FL without reserves. Another thing is the ML actor looks a little like the American actor Robert Downey JR (Iron Man), i don't know if i am the only one noticing this. Please guys give it a watch, its not as bad as it says. I especially like the ML character, he is weird in a cute way. Its a little fun romantic drama and way better than a lot of dramas out there with high ratings.

A Classic

Just rewatched the show after 10 years, and I'm glad to say it's still as good as ever.

You can't expect a romance idol tv show to be realistic, so I just want to talk about the lead couple. The growth in both leads as they navigate through different problems in their work and resolve issues in their relationship. The workaholic FL who takes care of everyone around her learns to value herself more, and the spoilt ML learns to work hard and care for people other than himself. The bond between them is strong af, and no amount of drama or hoes can break them apart. Even when the ML is seemingly caught doing questionable things, the FL will always choose to believe him before anything else. They respect each other's choices and support each other no matter what. Goals.

The last episode throws an unnecessary curveball at you out of nowhere though, and that's my only complaint.

One of the best romance cdramas I've watched it. The story isn't something special among other dramas of its kind but I loved it from the start and until the end, it's very sweet. I'm not really a fan of e-games dramas but this one left a good impression on me. The game parts were enjoyable and I've found myself being captivated, especially since I'm not really into this kind of shows.

The acting was good, of course with little exceptions maybe, but so much better than others I've seen before. The playfulness Xu Kai showed it through Lu Si Cheng was really natural and he truly won me as a fan with it. Cheng Xiao, she also had a good acting and expressed herself well, especially in some scenes. There can still be room of improvement but I applaud them both and I'll be looking forward to the both of them and their future works.

About the chemistry between the Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao, I can just say that it was amazing and it wasn't awkward. They each did a goob job in showing an expressing their characters' adoration and the other feelings for each other in the series. It showed that they were comfortable and their many sweet moments had me melting. I honestly believe that they were the perfect cast for this series because they pulled off so nicely and they had you immersed in their moments. The sweetness is just over the top and I wish I could see more series and chemistry like theirs. If there would be another chance to see them acting together again, I would for sure watch it. You just can't get enough.

What I've appreciated more in this series was the fact that there weren't many annoying side characters, instead, it was quite peaceful and this made it even more enjoyable and I could appreciate even more the sweet moments among Lu Si Cheng and Tong Yao.

In conclusion, I would totally rewatch this drama because it is what I've looked up for so long. Very sweet, cute and I loved it. I feel like the ending could be better for such a good drama. Left me a bit hanging and I expected more from its' ending but beside that, the cdrama is on point and I would recommend people to watch it if they want something sweet and to melt a lot while watching it.

BEST DRAMA IN CHINESE HISTORY

Highly recommend FOREVER AND EVER . It tells a love story between a shy professor and a initiative voice actress. Since their first sight of each other they were destined to be together. This drama includes actress BAI LU and actor ALLEN REN who’s chemistry together makes science interesting. Their love story is sweet yet spicy, impulsive yet patient, happy yet sad. Going through a roller coaster journey of joy and hardships, the couple strive for a normal and comfortable life. Competing between love and family, the two find comfort and happiness with another. FOREVER AND EVER is the continuing of ONE AND ONLY (recommend before watching FOREVER AND EVER ) and includes the long desired ending for the couple.

Mint Drama!!

Dear Diary (我的巴比伦恋人 - My Babylonian Lover), is a 24 eps rom-com drama that narrates the story of how a diary that was once written by a 12-year-old girl come to life. The 12-year-old girl (Chen Meiru) once fantasizes and wrote a diary about herself as the woman whom the Babylonian prince single-heartedly love and would die for. However, her "diary" became known by everyone in her hometown. Thus, the 12-year-old girl was traumatized and she grew up to become a very closed and serious woman.

This drama is not like any other rom-com drama, it is original and unique. Dear Diary has so many plot devices and themes used harmoniously together. The drama is well-paced and there is not a single dull moment. Dear Diary has many exciting, interesting, and heart-warming plots along the way. Moreover, the drama also transitions seamlessly between comedy, romance, action, and suspense. All in all, the element of fiction and reality are seamlessly interwoven and executed.

The quality of storytelling is very well done, this drama grips you every single episode, it makes you want to watch more and binge the whole drama. Some people might find this drama bizarre and weird (because yes, it is), but when you're watching this, just turn off your brain and enjoy the drama. The drama isn't all about romance and comedy, there is a deep message hidden in it. The drama has some really meaningful dialogues, and the drama also displays tremendous character growth in all characters. In addition, even though there are 3 characters who were technically "fictional characters", but they didn't feel fake or generic, they felt like real people. All the characters are well-dimensioned, it is very well-written. Though there might be some plot holes, the plot holes are forgive-able.

All of the main cast did a very exceptional job. The actors are really commendable for acting delivering their lines without laughing, as there are a lot of scenes that are really hilarious; e.g. drinking from a fishbowl. Moreover, the interactions and chemistry between everyone are also realistically and convincingly portrayed.

The production of Dear Diary is also executed immaculately, the writing, direction, and production team pays close attention to the whole drama that making it a perfect drama!! The production team went to Iraq, Morocco, and Paris to shoot some of the scenes and to accumulate Babylonian artifacts and resources. In addition, the drama also spent 2 years on post-production, with its dubbing and editing. Therefore, believe me, it won't disappoint you. The technical execution of this drama might not be top-notch, but it is interesting and beautiful. It has immersive camerawork for certain scenes and appropriate levels of color grading. Moreover, the high production value is also reflected in the set design, costume, everything is fantastic.

All in all, Dear Diary is a wonderfully produced drama, it has an engrossing plot, impressive cinematography, beautiful writing. Dear Diary will keep you on the edge of your chair, with its comedy, thrills, and suspense playing out at a compelling pace. With it, it deserves more attention and it is definitely one of this year's dark horse.

Plus, I love how each episode ending ends with this statement, "MeiRu, I’m marrying you. We’ll be in a monogamous relationship and I’ll never leave you."

Good humor and mystery-ish slash uncovering corruption type beat

I enjoyed this,
- good comedic elements (especially in the beginning)
- they know shes a girl. Theres no hidden identity which i thought was interesting
- wasnt that deep, esp in the beginning + easy lead up to the main thing to uncover
- easy to like the leads, (actions made sense)
- i like lusi and the guy, but mainly was interested bcs of lusi
- interesting side characters
(but i didnt really pay that muhc attention to the second couple i just knew it was happening) the side characters im refering too are mostly like the love rivals, most were bearable even fun if not fun at least interesting-ish and you understand her. The other one well, thats the main villain so like thats where the story come from so... but ill have spoilers of how i wished his character went at the very bottom. Also there was like these two guys that always fought but were more like frenemmies. i didnt really pay attention to them esp not in the beginning, but i really did like their dynamic later, kinda cute. I started paying attention after one of them had their wedding and the other came and everyone thought they were gonna fight each other.

Overall though it was a fun watch. Granted i did “drop” this a few times but thats just because it was still airing so i wasnt in a rush to get to a state where i really wanted to know whatll happen next, and also was not in the mood for uncovering corruption n schemes etc. but then it really did pick up, so much so that im writting this right after the last eps came out. with that said i think this show did those schemeing/ unraveling okay. Like smaller things were resolved along the way in a satisfying way, leaving certain bits not solved to let it continue. They way the characters solved it at first was like a twist but then after just felt lowkey repetitive to the extent that you know how they will solve it (but i dont really mean that in a bad way, but bcs of that i rate the story only 8.5) its to the extent that if they were in present times i would think that these characters rather than being teachers would be actors lmao?

The acting was good. You really hate the people ur supposed to. (Well maybe dislike, the show wasnt that deep to hate anyone imo, but theyre acting still ??) you get annoyed at the people ur supposed to and you enjoy watching the rest. Again there were funny moments, esp in the beginning, maybe they were more than just momenta but i kinda forgot.

The music was ok, i also didnt pay attention to it idk just didnt grab my attention, but it was not distracting which means it was good choice. Also its just preference.

SPOILERS ON HOW I WISH IT ENDED WITH ZHOU WEN YUAN (wait is that this name, the zhou guy, the friend)
i wish the writers gave him more pain. Like more regret for the things he did... kinda like when he found out he was partly responsible for sang yu (unintentionally so) and was heart broken. Maybe if they had even just one clip of sang yu being nice to him, something small but very memorable to him. But even with what they showed i thought that was intresting cause it showed that he wasnt like bad by nature. I think the writers made him that way bcs they wanted the charcter that way which is fine, but like i thought it would be intresting if it showed him more being pushed into it by his aunt, and lowkey reluctant and following only bcs his aunt was the only like backing he had and he was a little lost, but then slowly got too into it bcs he was in too deep n like no going back. (I think they kinda showed her pushyness on him the whole time and him holding sang qi as his last moral line kinda thing). Then his like ending wouldve been more like hard hitting bcs we lowkey felt bad for him too. maybe even that lusi liked him a little when they were small but then stopped as they grew up, so then her telling him he changed had more impact bcs she did like the older version of him at some point, then maybe he could find out only after sang qi was dying n felt mad regret. But thats just my opinion.

Short drama

Approx 11 mins each episode of 12 episodes.
So every episodes had a kiss and understanding different types of emotions like jealousy, hatred ,angry ,sad ,happiness and so on . So in each episode Goblin experience one emotion through kissing a woman . So when he did this he got into trouble or misunderstanding so female lead help him to complete his task as he was very kind and help her in some ways . As time passes she liked her and then he liked her when he experienced all type of emotion. Personally not liked drama much .
