First of all, I want to make one thing clear: "He was cool" should be treated differently from other movies. Why?
Well, first of all, you have to consider the time when it was released and the intention.
Because of my many reasons this movie will remain as my favorite one. Let me explain why:
1.The topics
Even though this movie's main target group might be young people, it also deals with very "mature"/serious topics.
The first time I watched this movie ( as a teenager) I didn't realize that this movie was kind of revolutionary or daring comparing to other Korean movies.
On the one hand, serious topics like AIDS and prejudices were shown. And on the other hand, it is also about a teenager's problems and everyday/love life.
For me, it was interesting to see how those "serious" and "ordinary topics" ( I can't think of a more appropriate word) were connected.
Apart from that, this movie was some kind of a roller-coaster ride: It was funny, sometimes sad and then it was funny again.

2. The characters
Apart from the great mix of the topics, the main characters were really...well, it is hard to describe each of them with one word.
The male lead did a great job as an actor considering the fact that it was one of his earliest work. Moreover, his character wasn't presented in a superficial way. As a viewer you could see and feel all his feelings and the changes he went through during the movie:
For instance the shyness when it comes to showing affection or even accepting it.
Actually, the movie helps one to understand his personality that seems to be a bit weird in the beginning: Sometimes he is nice to the female lead and sometimes he isn't nice. In many ways he is a immature young male and but in some ways he is more mature than his friends.

Even though the relationship between the main leads was one the weirdest one I've seen, I could feel/see the romance. You might wonder, why it was weird: The whole relationship between them was rather forced than planned at the beginning. But you could tell that it changed after some time.
For me it was kind of amusing to watch those two arguing, making up and once again arguing. It somehow reminded me of the young boys in the kindergarten who prefer to annoy the girls they like instead being nice to them.
The female lead: She acted pretty well. Even though she played the role of a rather immature student, she was able to show various emotions. I think, I will never forget certain scenes she played with all her heart like jumping up and down with weird clothes on in front of the school jard. Just the thought of it makes me laugh.

3. The plot
Movies aren't dramas with 16 eps or more. So, I guess, as a viewer I will always have the feeling that everything was a bit too rushed and ended too quickly.
Nevertheless, I liked the way everything progressed. It wasn't dragging or something like that.
Even now, I am able to divide the movie in different chapters.

To sum it up:
This movie is great! It might be a bit weird at first but you will like it the more you watch! Apart from that, a movie's intention should count as well. And this movies proves that you can make use of serious topics in a way that you don't even realize that you are learning something new.

One of the first Kmovies i've ever seen.
To say the truth i did found it a little unusual at some parts plus i didn't exactly like the lead actress and to be honest i've only watched it because i just like the lead actor but then as the movie went on i found it nice, the rich boy thing, the troubles of the past, everything was nicely done, worth watching since the story is good enough to make you waste your time on it and since the movie was cool.

He was really cool!!! this movie is entertaining though the story is not that unique since most of Asian movies has this kind of story. But then both actors gave unique taste of their character here, the love chemistry is there and yeah, you'll fee the magic of romance!

I love this movie because it's full of fun and the chasing game at the start, the kissing scene were so cute, I really love when Song (lead male) blushes haha. Jung is full of energy and I really love her acting here.

Song is really good in here as bad boy yet have a kind heart, I really like it when he is showing his protectiveness. there are also fight scenes as that's a high school life, those embarassing moments, crazy stuff you do, you can relate to it.

Over all, I really had fun watching it!

When I read the synopsis, the story line sounded like it would be interesting to watch. And I had even more interest in it when I read Song Seung Hun was the main role since I had liked him in My Princess. But this movie is lacking in so many ways.

The acting is bad, the music is forgettable and I just didn't feel the two main leads had great chemistry together. The editing was bad too. Sometimes I felt the scenes didn't connect well together.

I will not be watching this movie again.

I love this movie is was all about young love but the drama was very much real and mature. I also love the bit of Faith that was played out between the two main characters, and I strongly appreciated that there wasn't too much of the love triangle thing, as the couple had enough to deal with on there own. But what I love especial was that yeah the normal 'rich guy' 'poor girl" thing that keeps coming out in these teen movies. But Eun Seong actual worked hard 2 show how much he cared about Ye Won, and with that! it ended epically! LOL! Prefect story line, great acting and prefect ended what more, would a movie want? oh yeah! Hot eye candid! Would love more steaminess from the characters but they its target group are still kids! so what can I say more 2 convince anyone that's this is a great movie! Just watch it Already! :)

Story- the story's too fast and they wasted the movie on too many unneeded scenes, even the kissing was disgusting. I didnt feel the love between them, it was more like forced love. i actually didnt get it well so i read the sypnosis after watching the movie and was surprised to find that the movie was totally different from it.

Acting/cast- the acting wasnt so good in my opinion, and they were over doing it with emotions to make it funny and it wasnt. The cast chosen was pretty acceptable, nothing against that.

Music-I didnt focus too much on the music but it was old and inappealing.

Rewatch value-i'd probably never waste time on this and watch it again. it was kind of nice but not worth it.

Overall-i enjoyed it and think that overall its not so bad, it just got so much fame that i was disappointed with it.

First, I have to say that my being in my late 30s may be the reason why I didn’t enjoy this movie. The story is immature. Are they kindergartners??? I get why the Eun Seong is juvenile in his behavior. He has a lot of baggage dealing with family and friends and never learned how to love. However, Ye Won was just very immature for a high school girl. The path they travel is interesting and there are a few tropes that I have not seen in other Korean dramas, but for the most part I have seen this movie before and it was done better. The acting wasn’t horrible considering what they had to work with. The music sucked. I won’t be rewatching it.

I found out after watching this drama that Jeong Da Bin had committed suicide. It is very sad. RIP

STORYLINE: 8.5/10… CHARACTERS: 7/10
I really enjoyed this movie. It was refreshingly funny and believable from the usual clichéd forceful relationship based plots I have seen before.

He was cool provides both a cute and relatable storyline especially from the male side of the storyline. His rude, abrupt and mysteries personality is gradually explained which in turn shown why his morals in life were like so. Because his life story is explained in slowed paste, I could sympathy with the characters being portrayed’s emotions/ feelings; especially as more and more of Ji Eun’s past is revealed.

The romance aspect of the movie provided the platform needed for Ye-Won’s character.

ACTING: 6.5/10
Unfortunately I felt Jeong Da Bin’s acting was lacking for most of the movie; however, Song Seung Hun’s abilities were somewhat good enough to give life to the movie (he totally out acts Jeong Da Bin).

LIKED: When she kissed him in front of them all. The tension afterwards made the scene even more exciting as well as her sexy outfit look was just so hilariously bad and her getting stuck just sent me in hysteria. Additionally, the accidental three way phone call involving Ye-Won’s mum when Ji Eun rings her home number hahahaha

CONCLUSION:
You should watch this movie if you enjoy genres such as ROMANCE – FIRST LOVE – ILLNESS – MELODRAMA - SCHOOL – FIGHTING – REBELLION – HOSPITALISAION – FLASHBACKS – DEATH – GIRLINESS – SECRETS – FAMILY - TRAGEDY – COMEDY – FIRST KISS – CRYING.

Story: I was expecting it to be a bit different after reading the description given on here. The story itself wasn't too horrible for me. It was the speed with which it was told.
The first half of the movie or so went by far too fast in my opinion. I almost gave up watching it. The last half of the movie was better. It slowed down a bit.

Acting/Cast: Song Seung Hun is one of my favorite actors (and the reason I didn't drop this after the first half); this didn't disappoint. I don't know if it was him, or the character he was playing, but I was just totally in love. His innocence when it came to relationships was just really endearing.

Jung Da Bin took some getting used to. Throughout the first half, much like the movie, I just wasn't feeling it. It felt like she was trying too hard a lot of the time.

The rest of the cast, aside from Lee Ki Woo (and that's probably just because he was the only other person who got a lot of screen time), wasn't really memorable.

Music: I honestly don't remember any music from this movie at all. There were some club scenes, but I don't even remember any of that.

Rewatch Value: I would rewatch this simply to see Song Seung Hun again. Seriously, that man is far too gorgeous to ignore.

Overall: Overall, it wasn't good. It wasn't bad. It was stuck somewhere in between. I enjoyed watching the main actors interact, and there were a few comedic parts in there that I was laughing really hard at, but that's really all that I found appealing here.

This one came up as a suggestion because I watched Baby & I. I watched ‘My Princess’ with Song Seung Hun and was extremely underwhelmed with the show as a whole. This is exactly how I felt about this movie as well. Young high school girl Han Ye Won insults the big man on campus Ji Eun Sung. And so he determines that she now belongs to him. This is the basis for the entire movie and they have a myriad of adventures along with several other school friends. I know with most K-dramas we must suspend our disbelief and understand that logic doesn’t always get applied to the story. Which I’ve discovered is alos true for Korean Dramas. Yet, even armed with a year’s worth of drama watching under my belt I just couldn’t buy into this one.

Since I started watching assian series and movies, I’v come across a lot of fun, romance and over great, funny stuff to watch. In He was cool , actor Song Suen Hun is younger self, and he does look like a Hugh school guy. The fact that he is still handsome and hasn’t change much is a plus. I’m currently watching Time Slip . Dr Jin, shows he is still great. In he was cool, loved his voice , which is sexy is a plus, plus compare to what to current watch. Can’t understand why anyone would say different of his looks now and than. Anyway was a good movie.

Before I get into any thing I just wanted to talk a moment to respect the main Female Heong Da-bin She die in 2007 due to suicide . May she rest in peace, I wish I could have had the Chance see her acting in my earlier years to remember her.

Now, I think I'm going to be the bad guy when I say that when watching the movie I was very much confused majority of the movie. I did watch this movie when i was younger and was at the point still confused about the plot over all.

I think it was the pacing of the story line that got me confused. For starters, at the beginning of the movie Not once did the talk about the fourms she was on and why it was a big problem, big enough for a guy to hunt her down at her school. But when and how did he get her phone in the first place like is he a genius or a hacker ?

But after the kiss scene Things just got worst from there for me. Question after question keep popping into my head

Why was the brother putting on women underwear ? Was he doing a cam show or something ?

Where was the Father this whole time ?

How did everyone know about Eun-sung but Ye -won ?

Now, at this point we meet Hyo-bin which I think was a complete waste off of time In my opinion. Her character was a complete mess. I know I wasn't supposed to like her but jeez was she presences not even worth mentioning. They never did properly explain when, how ,and why she liked Eun-sung . Ya know for a girl how likes Eun-sung she didn't do much...at all her friend did most of the work majority of the time. Speaking of her, its like she had a personal grunge on Ye-won, like she killed her whole clan or something ,Calm down Sasuke. Bulling her, putting her in a hospital, Why becuase your best friend can't get over the fact that she was dumped by a guy that didn't like her in the first place ?

Birthday Arc :
Did you really think she was going to miss a chance to see her best friend who left for America just because you said "You'll regret not coming". Just tell her it was your birthday and you had something planned for her ( which i might say I would like to know what he planned ) . Plus, did you really think it would be a good idea to bring her while you have your ex-girlfriend their and her thoughtless pet there aswhile ?

Hospital Arc:
I'm going to be blunt...The hell was that ? What even ...
Firstly, When we find out his father has AIDs I was wondering whether it was hereditary or his Dad was fooling around with other women ? But those questions will never be answered . During this part I kept wondering when she started to devolve feeling for him becuase i sure as heck could not see any reason why she'd fall for him or would even visit at this point. He never clearly stated what he thought or felt for her. And boy, that fighting scene , after he came in i'm surpirsed he was dumb enough to belive that it was the wanna be thug that only beat Ye-won up. But lets be honset here , They were both stupid to even try attacking her INSIDE EUN-SUNGS ROOM . After that He finally tells somewhat of a back story about his childhood and about his father having AIDS. Now did i think they could have done this in a better way, Yes I think they should have made the scene more compelling by showing the father himself and the strain relation ship they have. Speaking about AIDS is a very serious topic all together so it would have been better to not make it a side concern (it was the best way i could put it )
During this whole movie all i could she was emotional baggage and dumb ways of dealing the stress that came with it. Like during the end leaving an already heart broken Ye-won at her door step.

I'm not even gonna mention the fact that this random dude in his click is out here telling her she at fault LIKE DID YOU NOT SEE WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH
