One of the best dramas of 2017. And I am not lying, not even a little bit.
If there is only one word that could describe this drama perfectly. That is 'Awesomazing'. From the A to the Z it is the most funny, dramatic and almost realistic drama I saw.
Not just in Korean but in English, Hindi or in Bangla this is by far the most funniest drama I had seen read more ever. Ever.

Don't believe me? Let me tell you why you should.

The cast is Perfect. I don't think anyone could had done those characters more justice then people who played them. Though I am not familiar with any of the cast members but I am glad that I still tried it. Because they were perfect.
Nam Gung Min is the funniest actor, I know. Than there is Lee Jun Ho with him. And it's just perfection on it's own.
There are lot's of other people too. And You are going to like each of them for their characters. You just have to.

The story is amazing. I'm not going to say anything about it, except that you will love every single second of it. You will love, scream and cry (for all the good reason). In the end you will just wish if there was more, more and more.
Funny & crazy lead. Smart women characters. An antagonist that you will love. A corruption story told with the right balance of comedy. And with a few lessons for life (Don't do corruption!).
There isn't a bucket load of romance in it. But there is this one couple that you will shipping from the first episode. *hint* hint* And if you are me, then there will be two or more.

The bromance...
You are probably hearing a lot about the Chief Kim & Director Seo's bromance. And none of the things you heard is a lie. If you thought Goblin & Grim Reaper's ( From "Goblin" ) bromance was epic. Than this one is just a step farther. It is funnier, cuter and seriously has that felling that just makes you go 'aww' at them. TQ's Psycho & Gluttonous Sociopath, they are just to CUTE to resist.
Every time they were together, there was Bang bang bang. Every line, every scene, every time their eyes meet...there was Bang.
This is the most romance I have ever seen in a bromance. And there are kisses. Yes, kiss but in plural!

The music. The songs are amazing. Beautiful and light goes perfectly with the story and the scenes. You will be humming them all the time.

Rewatch - 10/10. I am so going to re-watch this. Actually I'm already re-watching it.

So if you think 'Ah, it doesn't has romance in it. It probably isn't good.' Than I will like to tell you, "You are so wrong. It does has romance in it. Just not a bucket full of it. The story, cast, music, the bromance, comedy everything else makes up for it. When you reach the end of the first episode you won't even care about the romance anymore"
It's an amazing drama not to mention a hilarious one. One of the best of 2017.
I'm hoping for a 2nd season.

For all of you my advice is, "Watch it! Watch it! Watch it!"

If you're having any doubts about picking this up because of the lack of 'romance' tag or the synopsis or just anything, please throw all those doubts out of the window and watch this right now! I don't generally watch non-romance dramas, and I'm not a big fan of office politics or just politics in general, but I LOVED this! And believe me, so will you.
The words corporate politics put me read more off for a while, but then I finally picked this drama because of Gung Min. I wasn't familiar with any of the other cast. Now I can't believe I was about to pass this gem off!
Here are few of the reasons why I loved Chief Kim-

-Sometimes, it doesn't require an unique plotline to make a successful drama, but what matters is it's execution. A group of people fighting against the corruption in their organisation might not seem like anything new, but Chief Kim is executed brilliantly. Not to mention, hilariously.
-I feel like, with the given plot, there could have been a lot of crazy misunderstandings, what with him being a bad person at the beginning. But the writer chose to deal with that fact in a straightforward manner, instead of going round and round in circles. I'm really thankful for that because it made it way more enjoyable.
-I really enjoyed the pacing of this show. In a typical kdrama, things go well in the start, and then around the last 5-6 episodes, everything goes wrong horribly which doesn't get resolved until the last episode. But I felt that wasn't the case with this drama. The pacing was a bit more consistent. Good and bad happened throughout the drama, not at any specific timings/ episode.
- I legit loved every interactions between every characters in the drama. Whether it may be Chief Kim & Seo Yul, Seo Yul & Ha Gyeong, Chief Kim & Myeong Su, Chief Kim & Ga Eun and any many others, each one was immensely enjoyable.
-I'm a big fan of bromances. Well, who isn't, right? The main lead, Chief Kim, is surrounded by a lot of guys. There are number of bromances going on simultaneously. My personal favorite being TQ's Psycho & Gluttonous Sociopath. They are just sooo cute!
-The chemistry between the characters is really good. Not just with the leading characters, but also between the supporting characters.
-There might not be any romance, but you can still ship two particular characters (I'm not saying who), I know I did.
-The comedy is SPOT-ON. This drama might not keep you on the edge of your seat, but it sure will have you falling off off it- with laughter!
-Last but not the least; watch out for the some drama scenes parodies. I loved them, and I'm sure you'll too. I'm not going to say which dramas, 'cause that'll spoil the fun, but they were pretty popular ones.
I'd like to end the review by saying that I'm not a drama re-watcher, but I'd gladly re-watch any episode of Chief Kim any-day! So please, give this a chance!
Happy Watching!

In both shows the main leads, Chief Kim and Miss Kim, are not trusted by their coworkers, are behaving weird, but are very competent in their workfield. If in Chief Kim we know that Chief Kim has some ulterior motives to join the company, in Queen of Office Miss Kim with her mysterious ways gives always the impression she is hiding some big secret. The office comedy is in both shows amazing and the main characters brilliantly written.

It's funny mixed with seriousness. Has a great story line and almost similar to Chief Kim. A humble man fighting for the rights of the unjust.

The acting is so good! there's not even one character whose acting made cringe! especially Junho (Seo Yul's) acting was surprisingly good.

I need another drama like this with fantastic humour that doesn't sacrifice the intelligence of it's characters and has capable smart leads both male and female left and right.

I just finished this amazing drama, and what a ride it was! The comedy in this is unsurpassable, I swear you will be laughing through tears. Many times I just found myself bursting out loud due the sheer genius comedic writing. Although that isn't all: The series teaches morals and life lessons, and we deeply feel for the characters who are faced with difficult decisions. I barely ever watch dramas without romance, but don't let that keep you from watching this gem. My favourites, of course, were Chief Kim and the Gluttonous Sociopath Seo Yul, haha. Those two will go down as one of the best bromances in history, just a match made in heaven HAHA I will rate this a 9/10, because as much as I loved it, and I will probably rewatch it when I feel like a need a cheering-up, it could have used a tiny bit of spice to fire things up even more.
Anyway, highly recommended, one of the best series this year!

I agree, its a wonderful drama but now when you say it, if they made the main storyline a bit more "spicy", and added some crazy twists, it could have been even better!

I really do like the actors and I'm glad so many people are enjoying this drama, btbh (but to be honest), it is a little too draggy and slapstick for me. I appreciate the humor but it would be nice if it were a little more realistic. The topics about corporate business seem to be common but I'm just starting episode 10 and it's hard keeping an interest in this. Maybe I just need to leave it and come back to it another time when I'm in a different frame of mind. I really want to like it--so it's probably worth giving it another try later.
