Although Winter Sonata is a kdrama, both dramas caught my heart even though they are very cliche. The cliche parts were executed beautifully, and these two melodramas are some of the best I have ever watched. They're very romantic but they are both slow paced romances. Both dramas have great chemistry between the leads and the male leads are super handsome!

Both are the story of first loves, adulthood and more. If you want the nostalgic vibe, you need to watch it. Ahh we all have that lingering feeling about our first love, right?

South Korean student Dong Ha met a Chinese student named May while studying in America several years back. The two students became friends but didn't realize the bond they had until they went their separate ways. Follows an extremely similar plot as Winter Sonata. The guy gets amnesia and the way the woman and the man fall in love are very similar. It could be called the Japanese version of Winter Sonata.

Aoi Miura was born and grew up in Toyama Prefecture. He has an indecisive personality and does not like summer. He was the focal member of the high school swimming team, but he now works as an assistant at a small architectural office in Tokyo. One summer day, he meets his childhood friend and first love Akari Serizawa. During their school days they spent everyday hanging out together until the fireworks night in their 3rd year of high school. That night, Akari suddenly disappeared.

Both shows have winter as their team and both shows are really beautiful shooted with beautiful cast and great acting. Both have the same feel as good quality and classic kdrama.
