Jeon Jong Seo receives offer to star in the upcoming K-drama "Genie House"
Jung Ji So is in discussion to reunite with her Parasite co-star, Cho Yeo Jung.
Several media outlets reported that Jung Ji So will be joining the upcoming historical MBC K-drama The Scent of Plum Blossoms. Actress Cho Yeo Jung was the first to receive the casting offer.
Jung Ji So's agency then shared their response to the casting news. According to TN Entertainment, "Jung Ji So is positively reviewing the offer to star in the new K-drama The Scent of Plum Blossoms."
If Jung Ji So decides to join the new series, this will be her reunion work with actress Cho Yeo Jung. The two have worked in the hit 2019 film Parasite together with Song Kang Ho, Lee Sun Kyun, Choi Woo Shik, Park So Dam, and Jang Hye Jin. Che Yeo Jung and Jung Ji So acted as mother and daughter in the film.
The Scent of Plum Blossoms will depict its story in a novel of the same name by Jung Sook. It will revolve around Joseon's orientation culture which has never been dealt with before. It will showcase the journey of the queen makers of Joseon.
The upcoming MBC historical K-drama will be helmed by director Song Hyung Suk, the same creator of the K-dramas The Guardians, Two Weeks, Personal Taste, and more.
This will possibly be the follow-up K-drama project of Jung Ji So after making headlines as the young Song Hye Kyo in The Glory.
Aside from The Scent of Plum Blossoms, Jung Ji So will also join the upcoming K-dramas and films, Miss Granny, Holy Night: Demon Hunters, and Midnight Sun.
Jung Ji So made her acting debut in 2012. She is best known for being part of the works Parasite, The Glory, The Cursed: Dead Man's Prey, Imitation, Curtain Call, and more.
