Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
Kim Nam Gil is positively discussing his appearance in the new season of The Fiery Priest.
On November 29, media outlets reported that The Fiery Priest Season 2 will officially begin filming next year. The airing date will also be next year and actor Kim Nam Gil who led the first season will return.
Kim Nam Gil's side responded to the circulating reports. According to a representative from Gil Story ENT, "Kim Nam Gil and the production team of The Fiery Priest Season 2 are currently in discussion. The actor is positively reviewing it but nothing has been confirmed yet. Kim Nam Gil has a strong will to join the new season. We are continuously discussing it."
The Fiery Priest aired in 2019 and had a maximum viewership of 22%. This K-drama also gave Kim Nam Gil a Grand Prize award. The K-drama revolved around a hot-tempered Catholic priest and a cowardly detective who had a joint investigation for a murder case.
For the first season, Kim Nam Gil worked alongside Kim Sung Kyun, Lee Ha Nee, Go Jun, Geum Sae Rok, and Jeon Sung Woo.
For the upcoming new season, there are still no reports on which season 1 cast will reportedly reunite with Kim Nam Gil.
According to media insiders, the production team has already started preparing for the filming of The Fiery Priest Season 2. The script is already ready and the new season will reportedly have 12 episodes.
The Fiery Priest Season 2 will reportedly air in the second half of 2024.
If Kim Nam Gil confirms his casting, this will be his third upcoming K-drama. The top actor will also lead the upcoming series Trigger with Kim Young Kwang and Execution directed by Choi Young Hwan (Escape from Mogadishu).
Aside from K-dramas, Kim Nam Gil will also greet viewers through the upcoming films Joseon Firefighter, Gwiseon, and Night Trip.
