A Korean version of the hit manga Hana Kimi. It's a teenage comedy with a cute, but strong storyline and a slew of handsome cast members. Kang Tae-joon (Minho) is a gold medalist in the high jump, but he has been mired in a slump due to an injury. In order to help her idol Tae-joon, a girl named Goo Jae-hee (Sulli) disguises herself as a boy and transfers to his all-male high school, Genie Athletic High School.

As a BIG fan of the manga, let me start by saying that this version presents Sano+Mizuki romance the best way out of all the versions there are (and, yes, believe me, when I say, I have seen all of them, and not only seen but completed!)

As this drama is an adaptation of a Japanese manga, please, don't be angry with me, because my review is going to contain comparisons, but I promise, only between this version and the manga, I won't be dragging in the other versions (the first paragraph was the introduction ^^)

Th story: Of course I did not expect the Korean producers/director to take and copy out the manga, which is most of the time good point of Korean drama makers,

I haven't seen the two other versions so I'm not really in the position to make any comparison, so I'll just write this review based on the criteria.

Story is okay, it's not original of course, since it's just a remake, but I did like how the story progressed. The pacing was just right, not too fast nor too slow. I loved the side stories better though than the main plot itself.

The cast was lovely, but the lead couple's acting was so-so. I'm a Shawol, but I kinda find Minho's acting annoying at times. Sulli was bearable for me though. This is the first time I got more interested with the supporting characters rather than the lead couple. The supporting characters had more substance in

  • Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu is the Taiwanese adaptation of the Japanese manga/drama Hana Kimi. To the Beautiful you is the Korean version. Since the original story of Hana Kimi is so good, I suggest watching all the other adaptations too!

Watching this drama. Now at 11th episode. I really hope this doesn't have "After XX years" type ending. I really hate those.

I have only watched one episode but my impression is that this is barely an adaption of the original Japanese drama but a drama that is loosely based on the Japanese one that has some basic similar plot points. The atmosphere and feel of the drama is way different; this one comes off as kind of dark while the Japanese version was very light-hearted and slapstick. In my opinion, other than the basic plot they are two completely different dramas. But I would have to say that this one really didn't leave me amazed, but it isn't terrible enough for me to drop...yet.

i am on episode 12 and struggling contemplating dropping this for at this point i can predict the outcome but they are still 4 more episodes to sit through (BIG YAWN). Should have tried to condense it in no more than 10 episodes, 12 max for already so many clinched parts have been played out and i can ignore so much

Too over rated, alot of eye candy though
I was sad that it didn't do Hana Kimi justice, more like one of those dramas promoting idols, but it was cute

This wasn't bad, but the Japanese 2007 version was much better... and by far my favorite version of all 4.

I love Jap. version, it was unpredictable and funny. This one started good and then just became a generic drama, no interactions with the dorms wich it's supposed to be one of the main things. What I really din't like is that most of people gave their comments based on that Minho and Sulli were in it. It started well and then it was just an average drama. They didn't even show why is she there trying to make the main character jump again -__- this version took a lot of the sillines and fun things and on top of that they add a a "major" female rival? I loved the Japanese drama of this manga, It was hysterical to see those boys dress up it women's clothing, generally acting foolish. Choi Min Ho definitely suffered in comparison for me to Shun Oguri. Yeah was entertaining but the original drama really established a strong sense of friendship between the female lead and her schoolmates.

wonderful, amazing, funny drama and the ending was exceptional but they left a tiny scene at the ending (kissing scene),how can it be this amazing at the end without a kiss.I will give it a 9 because they left my best scene out.
