editSynopsis

A Korean version of the hit manga Hana Kimi. It's a teenage comedy with a cute, but strong storyline and a slew of handsome cast members. Kang Tae-joon (Minho) is a gold medalist in the high jump, but he has been mired in a slump due to an injury. In order to help her idol Tae-joon, a girl named Goo Jae-hee (Sulli) disguises herself as a boy and transfers to his all-male high school, Genie Athletic High School.

As a BIG fan of the manga, let me start by saying that this version presents Sano+Mizuki romance the best way out of all the versions there are (and, yes, believe me, when I say, I have seen all of them, and not only seen but completed!)

As this drama is an adaptation of a Japanese manga, please, don't be angry with me, because my review is going to contain comparisons, but I promise, only between this version and the manga, I won't be dragging in the other versions (the first paragraph was the introduction ^^)

Th story: Of course I did not expect the Korean producers/director to take and copy out the manga, which is most of the time good point of Korean drama makers,

I haven't seen the two other versions so I'm not really in the position to make any comparison, so I'll just write this review based on the criteria.

Story is okay, it's not original of course, since it's just a remake, but I did like how the story progressed. The pacing was just right, not too fast nor too slow. I loved the side stories better though than the main plot itself.

The cast was lovely, but the lead couple's acting was so-so. I'm a Shawol, but I kinda find Minho's acting annoying at times. Sulli was bearable for me though. This is the first time I got more interested with the supporting characters rather than the lead couple. The supporting characters had more substance in

  • Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu is the Taiwanese adaptation of the Japanese manga/drama Hana Kimi. To the Beautiful you is the Korean version. Since the original story of Hana Kimi is so good, I suggest watching all the other adaptations too!

I was able to watch this drama until the end because of lee hyun woo. Cha eun gyeol, you're my favorite character here in this drama! >:D

just like a second male lead who doesnt get the girl. sigh cha eun gyeol u can always come to me.. anyway this was a good drama at first i was skeptical cause i watched the 1st episode and i stopped watching it. it didnt show one of those competition with the other dorms like 07 version of hana kimi i really do like that, and han na wow hibari-san wasnt that childish. overall this was good in it own way but it feel like the 3 dorms didnt interact with each other like the 07 versions

for me this drama was watch able and i did enjoy it but after seeing the other versions and comparing i felt a little disappointed, i felt this version focused soley on the romance which i did like but i liked more how the other versions also had the friendship in it, and i was annoyed how they had the dorm leaders, i mean in this version they may as well have not existed they had no role unlike the japanese version where they banded together to stand up to that mean teacher and also the funny rivialry between the dorms and also in this version they cut out the guy who can see ghosts--although his role isnt majerly important i still loved his character

I just don't know how to take this drama.
some days I look back and think about all the funny scenes; suitcase flying down the steps & the Taser (stilling laughing now) && the music was V good (still didn't beat hana Kimi 07)
But then I think about all the bits it missed out such as the amazing-ness of the other characters.
Then I'm back to being confused :/ I still stand by the Manga being the best then Hana Kimi 07 being 2nd place.

This drama was a disappointment. Instead of focusing on what Hana Kimi truly was about, it centered on the romance. But Hana Kimi was a manga that centered on friendship, romance to me was just a second. I dunno I was very disappointed by it. :/

And then what was up with her being American but speaking Korean to Julian Kang who played her brother who spoke English? I mean come on...

This drama is so nice..by reading some of your comments it almost made me not watch it because "sadly" some people had lots of other expectations accorting to what this drama actually is.oh well after all,i started to watch it and it's really good.it also got a really nice sense of humour.and it's not boring at all like some of you stated.

After watching this i thought it was ok but i miss the friendships from the others. For me the biggest problem is just that characters like the dorm mates are swept aside for the main cast and this can work but if it's a school based drama i feel you might want to develop the classmates so when someone says good by you actually feel bad for everyone not like i'm leaving two people who could fly over to america if i left. It's a lot harder to fly an entire class ver than just a few people.

We have the same opinion about it. I was looking forward to the dorm clashes because ever since..I like Oscar XD But sadly..it seems like the focus was only on the romance side.. :/

Very true I think the first did the best because it also made is silly and we really did care about what happened when she left and in the end i cried.

I've been trying to finish this drama forever but spend most of the time being bored and the rest staring at Eungyul and forgetting to read the subtitles. I miss his bowl cut though. Anyway, he's good. I would've dropped this after the first episode if it wasn't for him.
