Not worth stretching it out to 54 episodes. If it was shorter, it would have been a great series.
The ending sucks. Good people gets tortured, slapped around, became maid... got just a little taste of happiness in the end, then got taken away by death. Bad people do countless of evil things, then just get locked in a huge house and given a poison wine to die peacefully. BULLSHIT! That woman should have gotten her face burned and cast down to be a maid for other people to torture her so she can taste her own meds. Since she is so proud of her beauty this would be a better ending for her.

TOTALLY LOVE LOVE LOVE VIN ZHANG!!!!!!

I love the chemistry between the two main leads. At first, I thought Hua Bu Qi wasn't pretty enough for Chen Yu, but she totally grew on me with her witty, cheerful personality. She doesn't know martial art but is able to get herself out of trouble most of the time because of her intelligence. I am fascinated with Chen Yu because he is very good at martial art, very smart and faithful. The masked hero thing is very intriguing! I love love love Zhang BinBin. He is a great actor at such young age. He is also very handsome!

There are times when I waited and waited for the new episodes to come out, and just hate it because it didn't show the interaction between the main leads.

I totally recommend this series.

P.S. What the Hell is this person, Kean Aw talking about in his /her review?! Who is Austin? Wrong series?????????

So FRUSTRATING to watch!!!

This show started out great! I was enjoying it. I like the relationship the leads had in the first 20 eps (I think) and they have to throw some stupid misunderstanding in the last 10 eps that make this show become so stupid. FL started out so smart and then she just got dumb or something. the ML, too! Instead of talking to each other about it like they DID in the previous episodes, he just went to hangout with some chick at a brothel.....and then he turned around and apologize then she kept on pushing him away....so this back and forth dragged out for like 6 episodes. And then the annoying villains that liked FL and ML won't move on and kept getting forgiven.... I got so angry watching this drama because of the stupidity!! The screen writter should find another job.
Also, WTF IS UP with FL HEAVY makeups and the beads on her head????

BEST DRAMA OF 2021

First, I have to clarify that I am not a YangMi die-hard fan or anything like that. I like her just like any other actresses...

This drama is beautifully done, very good-looking casts, not cheesy CGI, gorgeous costumes, intriguing story plot, superb acting, bad-ass fighting scenes....

BEST things about this drama are:
Smart leads: They always work together to beat the bad guys schemes....
They are also the most kick-ass fighters!! I love leads that are capable and the best in fighting....
these two alone are so safistying to watch!!!!!!

Their love stories are heart-wrenching, but in the end, they all get the happy endings in my opinion!

___________________________________________________________________

***I am reposting this from someone else so everyone can understand the ending better. I am not Chinese so I wouldn't understand all this....but it is actually a beautiful ending once you get the meaning:

"You know the ending with the crane flying above head and it sheds a feather? It's when the Crown Prince aka Emperor is telling HS that FJM's health has improved as compared with the earlier years...

here's what a crane symbolizes:
From fengshuibeginner.com : "In China, the crane, also known as the heron has always been one of the most auspicious symbols since the olden times. It is a symbol of nobility and long life. In addition, it also represents everlasting love and loyalty in romance. "

And from artfixdaily.com: "In Chinese culture, the crane is venerated as the prince of all feathered creatures and thus has a legendary status. Embodying longevity and peace, it is the second most favored bird symbol after the phoenix"

So, I take it to mean that the country is ushering in a period of peace and that FJM will live a long life. I was a little puzzled as to why the feather flew in the wind and we got to see young HS with FJM plus all the other love-scenes.... and I think the first explanation informs us that it also represents "everlasting love and loyalty"....
(reason is because in E06, he didn't catch the feather, but in E48, he catches it"...so he accepts the love and loyalty from HS.

So that's the parting message - though a rather cryptic one. Geez, it's not like all audiences know what the crane means!"

Over rated

I was so excited to watch because of the high rating, but it is totally a disappointment. Slow pace, kinda boring... There are many plot holes.

I love the main leads and their acting! They are both so very very good looking! The story is ...okay. It is kind of annoying to watch an adult acting like a spoil manipulating brat ...I get the she is suffering a disorder, but I still can't sit through it.

I also don't get who would let their children read the main lead's stories?! I get it that all of the fairy tales have pretty dark and gruesome origins. Some were even bizarre. Such stories include rape, incest, cannibalism, torture and other heinous crimes we can never dare mention to kids who dream of a better future. But what was acceptable to kids in the 1800s does not mean it is acceptable to kids now; there was no Child Abuse Law nor Child Labor Law back then…..Disney fairy tales are good for kids nowaday, in my opinion because their versions still deliver the core morals but in a more evolved psychological, relatable way.

Anyways, I guess it is still entertaining, but I guess I over hyped because of the high rating....I had to drop it half way through. I will finish it when I have nothing else to watch. I hope it gets better toward the end

I have to say this show is one of the BEST dramas I have seen so far. I LOVE the story. I worship DONG HUA DIJUN character! He's handsome, powerful; he could careless of what others say or think of him; he pretty much does what he wants and ignore the rest; but at the same time, he is playful, selfless, loves deeply...
Fenjiu is absolutely gorgeous, brave and super cute! These two characters compliment each other so well. I love the interaction between them!

The acting is admirably excellent! I have to say Dong Hua's makeup, hairdo and costume was way better in Eternal Love! The music was also better there. I think it's because of the production company.

The first 8 episodes lost my interest a little bit. I think it would be better if they start the story like in the novel and recall the past as it goes along (it might be confusing the those who did not read the book). I didn't like to not seeing any interaction between the main leads. If you have the same feeling, stick along, it gets way way way better! I promise you will love this drama!

Very disappointed! Unsatisfactory ending! People sho did all the bad thing never got punished. Good people ended up dying early on. Only watched this because of Jeremy. The main guy is so annoying! He just went around making promises he couldn’t keep. The story tried to portray that he is a smart person, but he is so not. The chick that he was in love with in the first place is so cunning and he had absolutely no clue!! It is so messed up that he keeps saying that he’s totally over the second sister and is in love with the third one, but when he was “raping” the maid, he saw the second sister’s face. So like he is still wanting the second sister?! I find that so repulsive!! His face just looks dumb for some reason. The chemistry between the main leads are horrible! I feel like it was a waste of my time watching this drama! Good people and bad people get the same ending...

The acting is alright. Jeremy and ady are great! The bad chick is also good in acting. The rest is just ehhh.

The music is just...not great! Every time they have a dancing celebration at the palace, it the same god damn song that they are dancing to.

I wish I was warned before not to watch this because the ending is really disappointing...it is lengthy to have a really bad ending. I kept waiting to watch the satisfying ending but it didn’t deliver.

I would never ever watch this series again ...god no!

The casts and their acting were great. I laughed out loud several times because of the Li Hui Zhen character; Dilraba portrayed the character very well. I have always liked her acting.

The series just gets really annoying and disappointed as it progressed. I don't like how Li Hui Zhen, supposedly a hard working, courageous woman was just so weakly and blindly "stuck" in love with her childhood sweetheart, Bai Hao Yu despite his dis-respectfulness toward her; he constantly berated her because of her clumsiness and her physical appearance (judging the book by its appearance kind-of-way). I understand that the main lead, Bai Hao Yu was supposed to be aloof and detached because of his childhood misfortunes, but one can be that way without being ill-mannered, non-gallantry and disrespectful. His English was really bad despite the fact that he was in New York for 12 years. He never learned to open doors for women apparently. Whenever they were stuck in bad situation, Li Hui Zhen had to take care of everything, he just stood there watching. He was just flat out RUDE and insecure in my opinion. He had suspicions that she was his childhood friend, but never wanted to actually find out. He didn't want it to be her, it seems. His character was such a turn-off for me; he was so NOT " suave, successful, and immensely likable" as described in the summary. I would have stopped watching this series if it wasn't for Lin Yi Mu (Vin Zhang).

I totally loved Lin Yi Mu. If Li Hui Zhen was smart, she would have been with Lin Yi Mu instead.

The main female lead is so annoyingly dumb! Nothing is her fault, but she kept saying it's her fault and let people walk all over her. I hate this kind of drama!!!!

The male lead is eh. I don't know why she married him in real life.

I'm not sure who the writer of this story is, but they did a poor job. There are many holes in the logic that make it so fustrating!

I feel like a big waste of time watching this series. The music is not great! It gives me headache with all the crying sound...

don't watch this series if you don't want to get annoyed, angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

I love both first and second seasons, but have to admit that the second season is more flowing. The main leads are so cute! I ESPECIALLY JUST LOVE THE KISSING SCENES! THE MALE LEAD IS SO SO SO CUTE!!!! I love the apathetic, cold, capable look! I wish the ending was a little longer for both seasons. I am surprised this tittle is not rated higher! I love quantum physics aspect about time travels and parallel universe stuff. I totally LOL in a few scenes! I can't say it enough, but I love this series both season. I can not wait for the third one!!!

The both season are not long and dragged out like others. I love how the ending is longer so you can enjoy their happiness together not like others where is just show them together and that's it. Just like other dramas, there are still some of the WTF moments but over all it is GREAT!!!

ACTING:

The acting is on point! I can't complain. The chemistry between main leads are awesome! Love it!!!

REWATCH:

It is the first series I can't wait to rewatch! I would totally rewatch the interaction between the main leads. They are super cute!!

Unraveling Narratives and Character Flaws in the Realm of Deception

I might be the only one, but I'm baffled by the 8.7 rating this show has received. I'd generously give it an 8, but even that feels too lenient. Initially promising, I'm now on episode 38 and finding it increasingly unreasonable and frustratingly dumb. The once-intelligent and capable female lead seems to have lost her discernment, openly criticizing the king despite knowing the risks involved. Considering her past experiences with both her family's downfall and her ex-fiancee's family trouble, one would expect her to exercise caution, especially with such an incompetent and manipulative ruler. I mean ...while honesty is commendable when confronted with an evil and irrational king, it's prudent for those who are smart to seek alternative approaches.

Similarly, the male lead, initially portrayed as competent, now appears to be nothing more than a tool, failing to take meaningful action despite realizing his insignificance.

As for the king, his erratic behavior swings between unreasonableness and outright evil, yet when directly challenged, he inexplicably retreats into passivity when the male lead directly disobeys his command to help the female lead... It's utterly bewildering and frustrating to witness this decline in quality and coherence.

There are just a few episodes remaining, and I might stick it out to see if it improves. While undeniably entertaining, this show falls short of being a masterpiece. The acting is passable, with nothing particularly remarkable about the performances of the male and female leads. Additionally, their outward appearances are rather ordinary. Though the story showed promise initially, it has become increasingly ludicrous. I've found myself fast-forwarding through numerous scenes as a result. DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO REWATCH THIS!

she's ready, he's not; he's ready, she's not...repeat & repeat &repeat.....

This series is sort of entertaining; it made me laugh at times, but I wouldn't recommend it since there are several moments when I'm like...OH. MY. GOD!!! I was so annoyed with the main female lead in the first half for being too weak. The male lead is iffy for the most part. He keeps saying he wants to be with Chen Xin Yi, but always one way or another attached to Anna. EVERY SINGLE TIME he was showing his grand gesture to Chen Xin Yi, something happens to Anna and he has to to to Anna. It gets super annoying how this writer just drag this out for too long. The back and forth...now she's willing to be with him, he's not; then he's ready to be with her, she's not...mind you this keep dragging on and on for most part of the series.

I just could not stand it anymore and had to drop this series at the part when everything is fine and dandy, then she has to have problem with her reproductive system (I mean who goes to check their reproductive system before getting married after had already have a kid together?!) and reject his proposal by saying she wants to go to Shang Hai to be with Dylan and just want to be Cun Xi's friend! I'm like SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both male and female leads in this series are so dreadful! The male lead keeps getting power from greatest famous people but his kungfu never got better. The female lead is such a drag! She’s totally not mail role material. The chemistry between them are so awkward to watch; it is so forceful! This is the first ever series/movie I fast forward in the main leads romantic parts! It is so boring over all!

Acting is ok, nothing phenomenal. The main female lead totally ruined it for everyone.
