I need Gawin to be my sugar daddy as well

If there weren't enough PisaengKawi from the first episode, the second episode totally makes up for it. The episode opens up with drunk Kawi and Pisaeng running away together and ending up in a park. Their scene touches briefly upon Pisaeng's loneliness despite being "handsome and popular". I love that Kawi is going back and forth between the past and the future and we can already see how each time he goes back the future has already changed that it's irreversible. The whole montage of Kawi being a big baby and getting Pisaeng to buy him whatever he wants is just adorable. Pisaeng is too damn nice. I need me a Pisaeng as well. The way the episode ended with future groom-to-be Pisaeng standing in front his best man Kawi confessing he can't marry Pear is actually fucking insane and had me screaming into my pillow. The bonus scene being that Pisaeng kept trying to get Kawi that stuffed animal is toooo adorable. Homeboy so whipped. As I read the book, I get that the future change ups are a bit different from the novels and they definitely toned it down (though I'm not sure how much because this is only ep 2) but I feel like the spirit has remained the same and I love how the drama is taking a safe approach to adapt for it to reach wider range of audience (admittedly it would have been crazy to get Kawi waking up to being ***** and then finding out he's Pisaeng's cheating partner). Gawin and Krist's chemistry is unexpectedly really good. I had my reservations at first because Gawin had to replace someone who was a literally walking definition of the character in the novel but he's doing such a great job as Pisaeng, everyone should give Gawin his flowers. I kinda already knew he was gonna do well because Pisaeng and Mork are similar kind of badass boys who won't take no for an answer but Gawin is really good. I hope everyone keeps watching for my boy Gawin.

It’s hard not to blame Soo Jae for her misery…

In this episode, we see Soo Jae’s denial towards Gong Chan being rather explicit. Soo Jae, having been so independent for the most of her working life, is faced with a tough decision as to whether she wants Gong Chan’s help, or stand alone in her own troubles. She chooses the latter, and Gong Chan can’t help but cling onto her. This episode was frustrating as we see Soo Jae constantly refusing to seek help, almost like as if all of Gong Chan’s effort are futile. The drama explores a very slow burn, almost too slow, of a romantic relationship between the two—which can be rather infuriating for us viewers. That aside, the acting is generally fine, though at some portions I felt like the characters were responding too quickly, as if reading from a script (which i mean, of course they are but it’s not exactly believable), hence I deducted scores from that. What I felt was lacking in this episode was chemistry between the two, and a resolve. I suspect the writer aims to be strategic with her own craft (the drama) hence inducing suspense. It seems to happen quite a few times, and transitions between scenes are also odd at times. Overall, use of SFX and music was good, and characterisation is usually on point. A solid 8 for me, down from the usual 9-10 that I give each episode.

Episode 7:Director Ge is very possessive in her mother's love for Bai Hui (isn't she her mother)? Secretary Lu is being prevented by Director Ge from wooing Bai Hui. Mr. Bai doesn't let himself be misled by the stubborn Hong Mei. Dan Yang thinks his math is useless but Boss Chu encourages him. The injured bandit, A. Shui, re-enters Mr. Bai's house and blackmails him. Hong Mei pretends to be Bai Hui to save her life. Moments of danger on the street, a grenade explodes, and someone is injured. Boss Li continues to deceive everyone. Hong Mei asks Mister Bai blunt questions. Dan Yang speaks for Bai Hui with Hong Mei (he is a people person and may question public safety), but she kindly does not accept his arguments. Bai Hui is questioned by her colleague for taking care of a criminal. Nurse Du Fang is fired. There is a risk of a leak at the factory. The team of experts encounters difficulties in developing the submarine. Dan Yang presents a suggestion and is surprised to be invited to take on the project.
