The Gifted is a gift

When you have Nanon, Chimon, Jane, Gun, and Sing as main actors, the acting can’t get better than this. From the main to the guest actors, everyone delivered.

I love all the powers and potentials. I have to admit the ending, particularly Pang vs Supot the Director, was predictable but in a fantastic way! It was reasonable and possible despite this being a thriller, supernatural. In a way, there wasn’t anything unrealistic about the way the Director took down Pang. If Mr. Pom said the Director was smarter than everyone then the Director had to be smarter than everyone. I love it when credit is given where it’s due, even if it’s the villain we’re talking about.

I love that depending on the characters’ arcs, we aren’t overwhelmed with the whole cast but get to see their relationships with other certain characters. The only complaint I have is that I wished there were more to Jack and Jo other than they excelled in chemistry and had a psychic connection. They never got their own episode and disappeared for a while so I seriously didn’t remember their names until episode 11 or so on.

Pang is the optimal main character. He’s the first of the lowest class in history to make it into the Gifted program. And he fights for equality despite receiving the best treatment as one of the Gifteds. Using his power only for good makes him a lovable character.

My favorite arc is Punn's. Not only did Gun play five different personalities beautifully, but his whole episode was super well done and written. I loved the artwork of five trees that represented each personality and that internal fighting! Wow!

My favorite character had to be Ohm. He was adorably hilarious and his potential was both fascinating and interesting! Mon is also one of my favorites and her action scenes are admiringly enjoyable.

Wave’s backstory was a nice twist and plentiful explanation for his present self at Ritdha Wittayakom High School. Although I don’t condone a romantic relationship between a teacher and a high school student, I’m glad it wasn’t all romance but actually about an abusive teacher using a student’s intelligence for personal gain. Wave outing his teacher was so satisfying!

Pang and Wave teaming up was something I expected but not as a duo. I thought Wave would be included in the Pang-Namtarn-Ohm gang but I understood why the other two were omitted. It was made clear that Namtarn was always for the Gifted program and Ohm just couldn’t be trusted due to his forgetfulness. In the end, Pang cited this as it was just him believing he was smarter than everyone else but I wholeheartedly believed he had really good reasons to leave Namtarn and Ohm out.

Namtarn and Claire’s potentials are super cool and Claire's episode was just fun. From her sassiness to acceptance and friend-zoning Korn. Initially, I felt bad for Korn but after Korn's episode, I was happy Claire chose Punn. Punn can be so smooth when he wants to be!

People tend to complain that there’s not enough time in a day (and I agree) but I liked that Korn found his power burdensome. His wanting to just sleep was so relatable and realistic, I loved it.

I highly enjoyed this one and am definitely looking forward to also binging season two. This is a must-watch, rewatch, and gift to viewers!

The Soon To Be Diva Is Outside The Fish Tank!

I knew this Drama would be a good to watch in Autumn and will be a priority on my list in the weeks ahead.
I watched many of the cast in multiple Dramas. I love Park Eun Bin in Extra Ordinary Attorney Woo and love
Chae Jong Hyeop perfomance in Unlock My Boss so I know this series will be a great watch in the coming
weeks ahead.

While watching episode 1 I did not know what to expect as there was not much in the synopsis. It started
with the female lead playing Seo Mok Ha and her friends in school, she wanted to use her phone but
did not charge it and went around asking everyone if they use the same phone as hers so she could use
their battery. After searching she later found out her class mate Jung Ki Ho has the same phone and she
asked him to lend his battery so she could make a phone call but he needed money, she pleaded until he gave
her the use of the phone battery. Only to find out Seo Mok Ha called to sing for her favorite pop star
Yoon Ran Joo. Seo Mok Ha was so star struck and was so happy that she could die lol. When Jung Ki Ho
heard what she said, he took the phone and ended the call and took back his battery because she said she
could just die hahaha.

There was a competition and Seo Mok Ha wanted to make a video to sumbit to Yoon Ran Joo and another
classmate recommended Jung Ki Ho that he does great videos with great editing skills so she went to asked
him, but this was not for free. Before the making of the video the story went from light and refreshing to
child abuse as we see Jung Ki Ho's dad beating him as he found out his son was working and he beat him
as he thought he was planning to run away like his mother. Jung Ki Ho was saving up for sure, he hustled
from the students for bike rides or using his phone. He was quick to make Seo Mok Ha video.

After the video was made, Seo Mok Ha's dad was also abusive and beat her, broke her guitar and trashed her
room. She called the police but nothing came of it because the police officer is Jung Ki Ho's dad that is also
abusive. Later that same day Jung Ki Ho went to pass on the video file to Seo Mok Ha but she lost hope after
what happened with her dad. Jung Ki Ho took the matter in his own hand and submitted the video for Seo
Mok Ha. She won 1st place but also had no hope of going to Seoul for to meet with the Agency.

Jung Ki Ho told Seo Mok ha if her dad try to hit her again, she must come to him and he gave her a
MAP TO HIS HOUSE with instruction how to find his bedroom window. she escaped and found him and they
took off to go to Seoul. Jung Ki Ho called back the Agency and set up a meeting date and time as it was his phone
number he gave for them to call Seo Mok Ha as her dad broke her phone. They are on a Island so would need to
travel on a ferry to get to Seoul. While they waited, Jung Ki Ho friend and his dad saw them and told Seo Mok Ha's
dad his daughter was at the dock and he showed up there.

Jung Ki Ho planned to go to Seoul with Seo Mok Ha but he told her to go alone and gave her his phone, back pack
and all his money he saved up. He tried to stop Seo Mok Ha's dad from going on the Ferry but he beat up the kid
and went on the Ferry. Seo Mok Ha tried to get away but it lead to her falling in the sea and her dad fell in after her.
She appeared on another Island and stock there for 15 yrs and that's how Seo Mok Ha became a "Cast Away Diva".
The story looks and feel promising like it will be a very enjoyable story as the beginning has a very strong back story.

The youth actors did a great job in story telling and they gave their all in it. I felt the emotions from the abusive
scenes and after Kung Ki Ho learnt that Seo Mok Ha was lost at Sea. Its refreshing to watch and I look forward to
watching the entire series. I start with a firm 10 ratings as everything was flawless.

Update_ after watching Ep2 the big question is, did Jung Ki Ho change his name to Kang Woo Hak.
Seo Mok Ha was discovered by Kang Woo Hak after he followed his brother Kang Bo Geol to clean
up waste from one of the island which was not on the search list the past 15 years.
Upate_ Currently on Ep6 as it airs and the Writer is having fun with these episodes betwen Ep2-6
with guessing who is Kiho? It could be can be any of the brothers. The evidence lean to Bogeol is Kiho
but also some times Woo Hak has traits of KiHo but he lost his memory and can't remember anything prior
to high school. Only Bogeol and his mom knows the truth about Kiho's identity.

Rebirth and Revenge

The first episodes caught my attention and I decided to continue watching it. It isn't much of a time drain since each episode is quite short. I did enjoy it in a simple-minded way but did roll my eyes at certain moments. Its not a particularly deep story, nor did I particularly like any of the characters. I guess there is something satisfying about watching people get whats coming to them, even if there is some hypocrisy on the part of those delivering "justice"

Story: In the original life FL is betrayed horribly after aiding and abetting the person she loved (2nd prince) in rising to the throne, even plotting against and poisoning her legal husband (7th prince). Yea, she's no saint. But when she is betrayed and killed by 2nd prince and her own sister, she swears if she had another chance she would make them pay. And she is reborn and gets her chance. Now, FL died in a horrific manner in her original life, she is very focused on revenge and I get that--but until the later episodes (where FL somewhat acknowledged that she and her sister weren't that different) it seemed like she carried a 'you lot are scum, you brought this on yourself, you're the worst kind of traitors' attitude...and yet did she not do pretty much the same thing to her own husband? In the original life, he had rushed to save her even though he suspected it was likely a trap...but still went, in case. He figured she may make more attempts on his life but still willingly drank tea she prepared for him, and was poisoned to death. As a result for most of the drama, while there is a certain satisfaction in watching people's evil plans backfire on them, I'm also viewing the person who is ruining those evil plans as quite the hypocrite. Some parts of the story also made little sense, such as the lack of logical sense and coordination of 2nd prince's schemes. In the reborn life, FL was still pretending to be on the side of 2nd prince to take down 7th prince. For this, they need to get 7th prince to trust FL so that she can successfully poison him (she wouldn't do it in the reborn life but this is just the 2nd prince's plot). 2nd prince then goes and gets his own wife to sow discord between FL and 7th prince so he can test and see FL's reaction and see if she is still devoted to him. So plan A requires building trust and plan B sows discord and breaks trust...its like left hand is slapping right hand, its no wonder he failed at life. This is just an example but there were several points in the story where you facepalm as characters do utterly stupid things just to move the drama along but actually takes away from the story. The ending is also a bit weird, implying its a dream but...what part is the dream? All of it? just the original life? Are we supposed to just guess?
There were some moments I got my hopes up--like there was potential for a good plot twist or conflict, but inevitably it is shallowly and quickly resolved without issue...sometimes too quickly that I'm left wondering why that plot point was even added.

Acting: Not bad. Not outstanding, but good enough to keep your focus on the drama and not be jarred out of story immersion due to cheesy acting. For the actors costumes/makeup though, I found the outline of 7th prince's wig/headpiece VERY noticeable. I could see the edge outline around his face in many episodes and scenes, sometimes the edges if that hairpiece obviously did not match his skin. They need to do a better job hiding it.

Music: Nothing is particularly memorable but nothing stuck out as unsuitable for the drama either

Rewatch: Not really something I'd recommend re-watching, the story and characters are so simple there really isn't a need and it would probably be boring

Overall: Its a simple minded revenge story and I think the enjoyment for me was based on satisfaction of watching evildoers have their evil scheme blow up in their face. But the characters are simple, the plot is shallow, this is not the place to look for nuanced characters that are undergo strong development thru the drama, nor for a deep immersive story.

Kept Me Gasping Till The End!

I don’t where to start, but I got hooked by this drama from the beginning till the end! Living in Canada, I always have to wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch the drama live. I tell you that it was the best decision ever since going on Twitter while this drama is airing will make it lose its element of surprise! No kidding about that since I gasped with every episode, from the surprise guests, to the sudden turn of events. Before anything, kudos to the writers and directors for making such a masterpiece! I am beyond proud of the actors too! I have seen their previous works and to suddenly see them in a very mature series, it really took me off guard! One thing I enjoyed too are the soundtracks used! How is it that the song matches every scene?! I have never watched a series where the songs used in the background got me gasping for how accurate it is with the situation. I also loved how this drama tackled a lot of vices and how it affects people around those who does it. Mental health was also featured here a lot especially with Ray’s character. What I appreciated is how they actually showed the positive light for Ray and how he was saved from his darkness. Personally, I relate to that. Top and Mew had a lot of ups and downs. Honestly was ok too if they don’t end up together, but I guess it shows no harm to feature forgiveness and new beginning. I am happy for Nick and Boston. I do think being together would have been toxic for either of them. If anything, I do wish we saw more of April and Cheum’s love life then again the other couples are messy enough already.

I’m writing this because I am really missing Ray. For the 12 weeks, I laughed, cried and got angry with him. Khaotung really did a great job with playing Ray All the emotional scenes were so memorable. I don’t think I can ever move on from those!

I’ll go and binge watch the series now! Yes, I’m rewatching it despite it ending only this morning here ?

Well… It was something…

now that this is over, I think I can say it was just average to me. I didn’t like any of the characters, and I found myself barely connecting to any of them. I’m not sure where the Mew storyline went because he was the least complex, least interesting, and overall most flat character.

I think everyone hyping it up, trying to analyze the characters, and general noise from the fans was making this seem more than it was. it was nice to see them push a bit against the norm for Thai bls, especially in the exclusive pairings factor, but I can’t say it made up for the lack of attention in fleshing out stories/backgrounds.

it was an interesting watch, but not something I found too enjoyable. the slut shaming of Boston was also a huge annoyance to me and I think he deserved to be seen as a person, not just a drama factor. he was the main reason the series could even keep going, so it was disappointing not seeing him get to say his piece.

this almost pushed the “open relationship” mentality, as I don’t see this as poly. it just fell short. I don’t really know what else I can praise this for… khaotung’s song? forcefirst being a thing? overall I just watched this to watch it. after the mew dramatics, knowing damn well it was just for show, it lost a lot of wind for me.

anyway, not a bad show, but it didn’t work for me personally.

Oh my Doona!

Doona! What a name, it’s unforgettable! Drama was engaging, heartfelt and have moments to reflect on. The ending, omg - crap. It felt so truncated. Being emotionally entrenched and then left high and dry felt like a sense of betrayal.

Props to Suzy. To me, this was her best acting to-date, putting her amongst the upper echelons. Strangely for me, watching her again after ‘Startup’ and feeling all conflicted was such a deja vu. And Yang Se-jong you are no exception with ‘My Country’ and now this. Lol! I guess I’m just a sucker for good endings, but this takes the cream for how sudden it ended or should I say, disappeared.

a mess

I don't understand the script that forces FL to act stupidly to become a hero even though he is a doctor and there are already soldiers who will carry out the task of fighting criminals

At the beginning of the drama it was beyond my control even though it was already good because I thought I would see a drama of the same type as DOTS, but I actually had to stop watching it in the 2nd episode because I couldn't stand watching it anymore.

why does the script have to be like that? This FL drama is even very strange and why does it have to show the scene of ML tying FL's body to a pole in the middle of so many people? WHY?

and is FL not at all sorry for putting people's lives in danger? If only the plot was like this, it would make more sense. but instead they quarreled with strange conversations

FL's acting is also not good, ML I like his expressions but for some reason I can't say his acting is good

the scene about learning games is very boring and doesn't need to be that long

this Yang Yang and Dilraba, two Chinese actors that I like

The beginning of this drama is interesting, the acting of the two here also shows appropriate emotions. I like FL's acting here, it's funny. The chemistry between the two main characters can also be seen.

but the next plot when we enter the scene about learning in games, I have to say that it's boring and too long! waste of time and very uninteresting.

Why did the production team push so hard to make a game learning scene that long? I know they are drama sponsors, but this is too much time waster and not worth seeing.

I had to jump to the episode where the game tournament episode was finally shown, then did a lot of skipping because there were a lot of less important drama scenes

in the middle of the drama I started to feel that the main character's acting became less interesting, I thought like the emotions of the two of them didn't reach me

I like the ending of the story but not the moment where ML comes out of his office after the rocket launch, I'm confused why there will almost be conflict and misunderstanding there, luckily it doesn't

the drama is good, but it doesn't say much more than that.

Personally, not very picky about shows

Honestly at first, I was a bit skeptical because the plot summary makes the show sound a bit bland. But it was a lot different from the mystery genre I'm used to that includes a murder, and they try to figure out who did it etc. This one is very different and then the ending is very conclusive, although we never figure out why or how they got into the time loop.

For story: Like I said, it is very creative in how they tell a mystery using a time loop. It might sound repetitive, but every loop is a little bit different from the last when they get more information to figure out how to fix the time loop. It also involves a lot of perspective on the accused side of how they deal with things and process sticky situations. As for romance, it's a little slow but there are some bite-sized romance stuffed in there, and it's not overly dramatic/cheesy.

Acting: AMAZING!! The actors definitely know what they're doing and they portray every emotion and personality perfectly. I comment on the acting a lot for the episode reviews lol.

OST: I don't know why but I especially love the ending song because it kind of fits with the main characters' relationship but also the other relationship too (that you'll see if you watch this). The singer also did a phenomenal job of singing the emotions of the song.

Rewatch: Usually, I don't rewatch things unless they're really good but for mysteries I like to watch them again to see the little details I didn't catch the first time because I know what happens.
TL;DR Amazing show with a spin on the mystery genre with slow but sweet build-up of romance and the ending has good closure on all the characters that leaves a little bittersweet feeling when you watch a good show.

Yoon Shi Yoon carried this show!

This was a unique Rom-Com that had me intrigued from the first episode with a unique, fresh angle than other Rom-Coms. Usually, the FL is the underdog, with a “Cinderella” story, with a ML as Prince or if not, the ML is a surprise Chaebol. In this case, Do Yong Shik, wonderfully depicted by Yoon Shi Yoon, is the tragic ML. The FL is the affluent, capable urologist who treats Yong Shik’s condition. The first episode really grabs your attention with all of the not-so-subtle visual metaphors to erectile dysfunction….I was laughing so hard (no pun intended, ahem).

Unfortunately, after the set-up with the first two episodes, things went south IMO, due to my medical background kicking in. I really had a problem with the lack of ethics with the FL urologist taking the bet with her ex? boyfriend/colleague psychiatrist on the ML being cured of ED within a month due to their childish pride or whatever. Even the FL’s sister chastised her about it. Also, the psychiatrist looked at Yong Shik’s medical records BEFORE she asked him to consult with her about it (ethical violation). Then, when Yong Shik decided he was too embarrassed after unknowingly having his first love give him a rectal exam (preposterous to begin with because a doctor would’ve properly introduced herself prior to the “drop your pants” situation, but I had to let it go in realizing they were setting up the comedic value)…ML goes to the psychiatrist (unknowing he’s her boyfriend) and he sets up the poor ML with a “urology consult”, giving FL his full history WITHOUT HIS CONSENT! At this point I’m yelling at the screen, “you can sue them”, asking myself, are there HIPPA laws in Korea? There are so many other instances of unethical medical practices that Yong Sik could’ve just reported them, sued them and started making money from that….

Then, when FL and ML get romantic, ML sees her phone ringing with the psychiatrist ex-boyfriend on the screen and flinches and backs off, feels insecure again, and she pouts like a whiny B! First of all, she is his urologist (shouldn’t have been though, conflict of interest) and she crossed the line by getting sexual with him (and ML even says “they crossed the line”) She still pouts and rants about him later. They all know that he has anxiety issues and PTSD and low self esteem, but FL acts petty and so does the 2nd ML psychiatrist.
The only redeeming female characters were, ironically, “Jennifer” the Transgender Shaman best friend of the ML and the FL’s sister.
Yoon Shi Yoon carried the show! His acting was phenomenal. To portray the anguish and embarrassment that the ML had to go through….I had to do a double take before I realized he was the ML from “Flower Boy Next Door” (they even alluded to “flower boy thing is not popular anymore”, LOL).
This is the first romance k-drama where I actually would’ve been okay with the ML ending up with not the FL, but her sister (who showed more morality and maturity) or someone else. I wasn’t really invested in FL. In the end, it was really Yong Shik that helped himself overcome his fears (which is a great message for anyone trying to overcome similar issues) and it was Yoon Shi Yoon who carried this story.

I don't understand the logic in this drama

the beginning of the drama, the beginning of the FL and ML meeting is very dramatic, I like how it uses a natural way

but I had to stop watching this drama when the story didn't make sense after I watched 15 episodes. I don't understand why you have to bring ordinary people when you are at a dangerous fire scene?

WHY???

this doesn't make sense, especially since they are untrained people. The scene that shows the firefighter laughing because the female character said something funny after the fire was put out, I immediately slammed my cellphone because I couldn't tolerate this anymore.

ENOUGH! I can't stand watching this drama anymore!

The storyline is too forced and I don't like Zhang Jingyi's acting in this drama, even though I was waiting for it because I had watched her previous drama. The expression on his face is like there is no emotion or change, I regret that.

ML's acting is good, but that's all.

Overall, I don't understand why this drama has a script that doesn't relate at all.

Not your "typical" love story, but a really good harem drama that's told in an interesting way

Before starting this show, I saw a lot of people on here complaining about the ML looks, the age difference (in the show), the many concubines etc etc. I almost didn't watch because of this. But then I decided to give it a try and see for myself. I'M GLAD I DID!

The FL is one of the best written (imo) FL in harem drama for a while. She's smart, but not too smart for her own good. She knows when to play dumb, but not so "dumb" that others take massive advantage of her. I will not even describe her as stubborn, as her actions/reactions don't come off as that. I describe her as determined. But at the same time, she knows when to give in and bide her time. Even though the other concubines (save for one so far) are always scheming against her, they actually admire her and knows she's a worthy opponent. I really hope they don't mess up her character.

This is an amazing drama that deals with palace intrigue and harem fighting. It's quite interesting how all the characters are portrayed and the decisions they make and the consequences of it all. Even the evil characters have a reason for doing what they do, not just because they evil for evil sake. Though I hate concubine Yao, I can see why she does what she does. Props to the writers! So far, nobody is overacting and everything is going seamlessly. Props to the director.

Some on here are saying the ML and FL don't have chemistry. I respectfully disagree. The leads definitely have chemistry. This is not a "pure" romance story so people can't project their fantasies on it, so they are turned off. I think most of you are biased because the ML is not your ideal young idol ML and there's no unnecessary filter on him to make him look otherworldly. I think this is unfair.

I read some comments on here saying the story is too fast paced and there's no time to process. I respectfully disagree. I think it's moving at the right pace. If it was any slower, it will be boring. If yall are really paying attention, you will notice from episode 6 to the current ep 12 we are still dealing with the death of the son. Every scheme, plan and actions taken were all to oust concubine Yao for her crime. Everything that you think that happened "too fast" or not given too much attention was all in the plan to deal with that woman. Didn't you guys notice, even the emperor had a plan. It all adds up. So while it may seem things are moving too fast, it's actually slowed down in the sense that every reaction was because of that one incident. So, the pacing is quite well.

I think the first arc is over for now. (we might come back to it because the main wife is using the death of her son to guilt ML). Episode 14 just brought us into a new one. Now lets wait and see how all the other concubines are going to deal with the FL pregnancy. Will the FL still leave? And how that new scheming concubine will be dealt with.

I'm excited to see how all this plays out and how the ML and FL end up!!

Post: My Thoughts So Far

Itchaya - (The first brother) I hated the fact that Kaewklao had to constantly make amends for her sister’s wrongdoing. Her sister was having the affair with Itchaya’s father who was constantly cheating on his wife and on his mistress. I felt bad for Kaew because she was pulled into her sister’s mess, while at the same time she was still helping out their mom. Throughout the misunderstandings between Itchaya & Kaew, they both realized their feelings for each other due and became a couple, despite his mother’s overbearing behavior.

Thames - (The second brother) Nueng had grown on me throughout. At first, I had thought that she had came off as arrogant. But, she wasn’t arrogant. I felt that she wore her heart on her sleeve, she knew what she wanted and how to get it. She didn’t play games when it came to taking care of business and she enjoyed being independent. Now, her so called best friend Vivi had no tears falling from her face as she was finding ways to backstab her friend because she felt that Nueng wasn’t treating her like a friend. Overall, Nueng became a better person for Thames instead of Vivi.
