Pain full story

I can only see the drama through the eyes of a poor innocent solder "jin pyo"....

Everything jin po did was right.. everything is good, but he dies as a villain.... Actually he must be done good to his country.... A patriot and good person.

If he doing narcotic business, that is good to cheat back... I'm the side of jin pyo.

The real villain changes his mind... And escapes after using his bodyguards.

Very sadful story. There are many criminal politicians around the world ... Who killls their own soldiers... and escapes

I honestly don't know where to begin writing this review ... City Hunter has such a special place in my heart! I just rewatched it for the first time in probably 8 years and it was just as brilliant as all those years ago. Once again, it made me feel every emotion known to man and I was unable to contain them! I laughed, screamed and squealed out loud and cried like a baby. It honestly has everything I could ever want from a drama and then some: An edge-of-your-seat revenge plot, a slow-burn love story, a rich guy who falls for a poor girl, major plot twists, a brilliant bromance, an outstanding cast and an absolutely beautiful OST. Seriously, the OST is so beautiful, I could cry just listening to Lim Jae Bum.

I expected the revenge plot and the romance, etc. However, what took me by surprise was the way Lee Minho and Lee Joon Hyuk play off each other. They have such amazing on-screen chemistry that transforms their characters' relationship into a whole different league within the story.

I guess the only part that was not perfect, was the ending, which I thought was very sudden and I was left with a lot of questions. Not even questions about the main plot but questions about those ending scene.s They were very weird and random. Plus, there are one or two characters who I think should have died.

The cast! Lee Minho, of course, is always a treat. Goo Hara, my love, it was good to see you again, but also incredibly sad. She was so charming. Lee Joon Hyuk, the moment I first laid my eyes on him in City Hunter, 9 years ago, I was a goner.

This drama is the crème de la crème! You will laugh, cry and scream and when it's over you will not know what to do with your life.

I think it's Lee Min Ho's best role so far, base on what I have seen so far. Although I'm not a fan of this drama, it's interesting. It is an SBS drama, and with SBS they really have that twist that made me question the whole plot, props to the writer and directors. The first part of the drama is really good. I could really see the dedication as well as the money they poured to the production and venue but as the story goes, I did not have the energy to continue watching this drama. I was happy to see Minyoung here as Kim Nana. Kim Nana is also one of her trademark roles that I usually call her in this name rather than her real name. What I find hard watching this is the english subtitles. I believe that at that time there is just a small community to subbers so it's hard to find a decent subbed Korean drama and I could really see the improvement in english subtitles as the year goes by. I appreciate the OST of this drama, especially the sad parts, I could really feel the emotions.

A different kind of drama!

If you are looking for romance, kisses, cute lines... "City hunter" isn't for you.

The center of this drama is revenge. Although we see the involvement between Lee Yoon Sung and Kim Na Na, this is a very small part of all the story. I love see Lee Min Ho on this character, I think is one of the few that he could interpret outside of your comfort zone (the rich boy). (but he is rich here too).

Considering this is a drama produced in 2011, we have good action scenes. The script is also structured and I really liked the fact that the characters are solid. We don't see oscillation in the purpose or smoothing in anyone of them. I won't give spoilers, but I was impacted with the endding and I give extra points for the courage that the writers had.

I would like to see more of romance, but this is my personal taste. Even without this, I was envolved in every moment of the story. Worth seeing.

This is the first Korean Drama that I have finished watching, and I have to say, this is quite an addicting experience. The cliffhangers at each episode kept me coming for the next episode, the story is intriguing and well fleshed out, though it drags out a bit here and there. But the thing which stood out the most was the soundtracks, it was just amazing! I literally had chills listening to the soundtracks play with the scenes and for the most part, they suited the scenes pretty well. The next thing which amazed me was the acting. I read a few comments of some poor acting and I don't see how, all of the people were perfect in their roles, especially Prosecutor Kim Yeong Ju.

Overall, the drama was amazing and I would perhaps rewatch sometime in the future.

City Hunter was really action packed but really lacked romance. and the ending I felt was too fast and lacked a good resolution.
The beginning started out rather tragically and honestly, the ending doesn't have the happily ever after "feel" even though it's not technically a "bad" ending either.
Honestly, there are other dramas that did similar plots with North Korea and South Korea having power struggles, such as Doctor Stranger, that I liked much better. Although, maybe I'm just more intrigued by medical dramas.
Overall, City Hunter was a very good, action packed, drama with a great OST, but I don't think I'd find myself rewatching it or even dwelling too much on the story in my head.

I re-watched this drama twice after it first came out (years ago). However, I am not sure how much my original review (below) would still hold up today, especially after other similar dramas have aired since City Hunter that I have probably enjoyed more. But I decided to keep my original review because it stays true to how I felt after I watched this drama for the first time.

Action-packed with a lot of heart, this is the best drama of 2011 so far and (possibly, in my opinion) one of the best dramas ever. It wasn't perfect (right--name a perfect drama) but it had everything that makes a drama damn near close all in one tight (entertaining) bundle of 20 episodes. The actors are smokin' (Lee Min HOT ~swoon~) the plot is amazing and well constructed, the soundtrack is off the charts, the chemistry is on fire, and the cinematic pallet is beautiful. Of course, this drama should come with a health warning: not for the weak at heart. It will get your blood rolling, palms sweating, and pulse pounding. I don't know how many times I freaked out during this show. Enough to have me worried about the side effects, for sure. But regardless, it was a great watch and I enjoyed every minute of it. So sad it is over!

Story: The story of City Hunter is very compelling and will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens. I think it is one of the most exciting k-dramas I have ever seen. The characters are very compelling and there are many twists and turns.

Cast: I began watching this series because of Lee Min Ho. I don't think this is his best series in terms of acting but he does well as the hero on his quest for revenge. The rest of the cast is good as well.

Music: The opening credits for this series is just awesome. It pumps you up and gets you ready for the show.

Weakness: I think the biggest weakness of this series is the ending. The ending seemed rush. I wished they spent less time on one story line to let the ending be better.

Do I recommend it: This is a complicated answer. At the current moment there aren't many streaming options for City Hunter that are legal. I know On Demand Korea is showing it but it is not subtitled. I watched it because I bought the DVD boxset from Amazon. I don't know if it is worth the price of buying it on DVD, although I do not regret the purchase. I do think it is a great series to watch and very enjoyable but at the current moment I would say wait until this series is available for streaming with subtitles. I hope soon Viki or Netflix will get the license because it is a great series.

its okay

I think if i had watched this first and healer next i would have given it half a star extra. If i have to choose between city hunter and healer its Healer all the way. I couldn't help compare it.
Both have excellent star cast. Strong ML and FL. When it comes to story which keeps you on your seat city hunter is not the one. I didn't do binge watching on this. Story is a kind of cliche except one element of his birth parent part. Action scenes are slow and not well performed for someone who is learning marshal arts from young age as per the drama.
I would have dropped this drama if not for Lee Min Ho smile. Another funny thing i find is pronounce of L is R. I slept off many times while watching this drama and i gave my rating for making it bearable.

I've watched a lot of kdramas but this one captivated my attention, because of amazing character of the male lead Lee Min Ho.
If you wanna see Thriller, action, romance and comedy in one go, Here it is. The stunts, the intense deep emotions and dialogues grab the attention of audience.
The concept of love is a lot more realistic in this drama, unlike other kdramas. Since the city hunter (Lee min ho) had to focus on his goal of taking Revenge and supporting the right thing, there aren't unreasonable over romantic scenes. The romance is still throughout the whole series which keeps us wanting to know what will happen to the leads. Chemistry of Kim na na (Park min young) and Yun seong (Lee min ho) is worth watching.
It's a must watch for kdrama lovers ????

This was one of my FIRST K-dramas I watched. I love the main leads and story line It was interesting and always kept you on your feet about what would go down next. I always thought the main couple was so adorable together and they had a good chemistry. The romance, action scenes, fights ect. are what kept me interested. I am not just a romance girl but I like some fantasy/ action/adventure thrown in there with it! if you are into the same stuff I am Go for IT! I think this is one drama you would enjoy!

The first few episodes were interesting, but then I started realizing how frustrating all the characters in it are. People die for almost no reason, they give a kind of stupid end to an annoying character. Not to mention the ending of the series being extremely lackluster, it almost didn't feel like an ending.

Overall this drama was extremely frustrating to watch, and wasn't worth it in the end. the actors were pretty good, but the writing was awful, and made almost no sense how some peopele can be so dumb.

Save yourself the trouble and don't watch this drama, go watch Healer, which has vastly superior film making, better action, much better story and writing. And a satisfying end.

I would describe this drama as Healer, with everything good about it stripped away, and only the frustrating parts left

The entire time I watched this I felt anxious, because I was waiting for any character to do some stupid shit that would get them in trouble, then proceed to dig themselves a deeper hole, and drag more people into it.

The only 2 redeeming qualities of this drama are Kim Sang-ho, and Park Min-young.
